"I can't believe Melody is turning three already." Selena said to Riker. "It feels like just yesterday she was born."
"I know. Where does the time go," Riker stated. "We don't even know the theme is."
"How about a Tinker Bell theme party for her?" Selena questioned.
"I love it. But who are we going to invite to a three year olds birthday?"
"We invite both sides of the family and friends." Selena replied.
"Perfect. Let's decide who to invite."
"Ok. We have our parents and siblings." Selena said.
"Right. I also have Ratliff to invite, and your friend Ashlynn." Riker stated.
"Yes. And we have Curt and Kimberly, Dominic, Titus, the others who play the Warblers, Darren, and Chris and the rest of the Glee cast to invite."
"Ok. Let's get to calling. I'll call all my friends, and you call the family members and Ashlynn, since I don't have her number." Riker exclaimed as they started calling everybody. A few minutes later they finished with all the calls. "Everybody I called can make it. What about you?" Riker asked.
"Same. I think we should have someone watch Melody while we go shopping for the party, and we also need to get…," Selena said as she ran to the bathroom not finishing the sentence.
"Honey, you ok?" Riker questioned in confusion as he went to go check on her. "Selena, are you ok? You have been puking for a week straight. I think you need to make a doctor's appointment and see what's going on."
"I already have. That's why I want someone to watch Melody while we go to the doctor, and then we can go the store and buy the supplies and the gifts." Selena stated.
"What are we waiting for? Let's have my parents watch her." Riker said.
"Ok, get the diaper bag and Melody ready, while I get ready."
"Gotcha." Riker said going to Melody's room. A few minutes later Riker meets Selena at the door with Melody and the diaper bag around his shoulder. "You ready?"
"Yes. Let's go." Selena said as they walk out the door. After they dropped Melody off at Riker's parents, they go to the doctor's office. After they walk in the office, Selena signs in. A few moments later, the nurse calls her back. The nurse took her weight, height, temperature, and blood pressure, along with checking lungs and heart.
"The doctor will be with you shortly. Hang tight." Nurse Monica said as she walked out. A few minutes later the doctor walks in with the nurse.
"So, Mrs. Lynch, what seems to be the problem?" Doctor Bell asked.
"Well, I have been barfing for a week straight, and Riker and I don't know why." Selena said to her doctor.
"When are usually barfing?"
"The morning, and after I eat."
"Well, let's run some tests and we'll do an ultrasound to see what the problem." Doctor Bell exclaimed. "We'll only need a blood test, and when you get back from that, we will do the ultrasound." Selena followed the nurse to draw blood, and after she headed back to the examine room. "Let's do this ultrasound, while they're running your blood test. I'll need you to sit back, pull up your shirt please." Doctor Bell said as Selena did what the doctor told her to do. "Ok. This will be cold to the touch." The doctor said as he looked at the screen of the monitor. Before the doctor could say anything, the nurse walked back in the room with the blood test results. The doctor looked at the results, and before telling Riker and Selena the results he went back to the ultrasound machine. "Well, Mr. and Mrs. Lynch, from the results of the blood test, and from the looks of this ultrasound, you're going to have another baby."
"WHAT!" Riker and Selena said in unison.
"Well," Doctor Bell said.
"Well what?" Riker asked.
"Well, are there any twins in either side of ya'lls family?" Doctor Bell interrogated.
"Yea, I have sisters that are twins. Why?" Selena questioned.
"What does this have to do with any of this?" Riker asked.
"It has everything to do with this." Doctor Bell replied emphatically.
"How?" Riker asked.
"Well, Mr. Lynch, your wife is pregnant with twins." Doctor Bell said turning the screen to show Riker the ultrasound. Riker stood there stunned for a moment, and then fell over backwards passed out.
"Riker, honey, wake up." Selena said as he starts to open his eyes.
"Where am I? What happened?" Riker questioned.
"You're at the doctor's office, you passed out." Selena stated.
"Why?"
"Because you find out I'm pregnant…with twins."
"WHAT!" Riker yelled.
"Yes, Mr. Lynch. She is telling you the truth. The Ultrasound and Blood Test don't lie." Dr. Bell stated.
"Oh, this is so much to take in. Can I get some water please?" Riker said shakily as Doctor Bell gave him some water.
"Are you okay, baby?" Selena asked her husband.
"Yeah, just a little in shock."
"Are you mad?"
"Mad for what?"
"Because I'm pregnant with twins." Selena said.
"Why would I be mad? I'm overjoyed." Riker stated.
"Are you really?"
"Yes, baby. Really. I will never lie to you." Riker said. "Please, help me up."
"Sit up slowly, and take your time standing up." The doctor said as he and Selena helped Riker up.
"Thank you doctor. We really appreciate it." Riker stated as he shook Doctor Bell's hand. "Let's go Selena. We have some things to get done. Again thank you doctor."
"No problem." Doctor Bell said. Later while Riker and Selena were shopping for Melody's birthday, Selena was staring at some options for her daughter's presents.
"How about this, Riker," Selena asked her husband.
"No, I don't want to her to have that." Riker replied back to his wife.
"Well, then do you have any ideas, honey," Selena interrogated. Riker's face lit up as a light bulb hit him.
"Actually, I do," Riker said. "How about we get Melody two baby dolls and tell her about the news about the pregnancy."
"I love that idea, but do you think she will love the idea of becoming a big sister?" Selena asked.
"Let's hope she does." Riker replied.
"When will we tell everyone about the pregnancy?" Selena interrogated Riker.
"I guess when we tell Melody at the party, we can tell everyone else. I mean they are going to find out eventually." Riker answered.
"I don't know. Maybe we shouldn't tell anyone until I start showing." Selena said.
"What? You are already showing. So let's go ahead and tell them." Riker replied.
"I know, but I meant when I really start to show. When is the party?"
"Next week, why?"
"So it gives me time to think about it."
"What is there to think about?" Riker asked.
"Everything. When I got pregnant with Melody, I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell everyone when I told you about it." Selena replied.
"Selena, baby, did you regret it after that?"
"No, not really."
"Then don't think about it anymore. We will tell everyone at the party next week. Is that agreeable?" Riker asked his wife.
"Yes, that is agreeable." Selena answered her husband.
The day of the party, Selena and Riker were preparing the house for the event. "What time will everyone start showing up?" Riker asked.
"About one," Selena answered.
"Ok. We still have to the table for the presents out, then we have to get the grill going. "
"Well we have about an hour. The side dishes have been on, so those should start to finish cooking any minute now." Selena said as she walked to the kitchen. Just as Selena and Riker finished putting the food out, everyone started to show up. First, it was Rocky, Ratliff, Rydel, and Ryland. Next, were Riker's parents, Stormie and Mark. Then, Selena's parents, William and Rhonda. After the parents Selena's sisters, Samantha and Stacey, showed up. Then Ross and Shelby with Ashlynn, and next was his former co-stars who play the Warblers, and the rest of the Glee cast. Just as the person showed up, the party started.
"Well, thank you all for coming out. Not only is this a special treat for a beautiful daughter, but this is an important one as well." Riker started out.
"Exactly, not only are we making this special for Melody, there are going to a few surprises for her as well." Selena said.
"So we will eat and then we start with the cake, and then the presents, and then a few games in between each and every happening tonight." Riker finished off. Everyone started to head for the kitchen. Before they started to eat, they said blessing and told a few stories that made everyone laugh. After eating the food and the cake, they headed to the presents. "Come Melody, let's go open presents." They started with all the presents that were not from them.
"Ok. This present has a special meaning to this gift. We will explain it to everyone in a minute." Selena said as she helped her daughter open the present.
"Wow! I got two new baby dolls. Thanks Mommy and Daddy." Melody told her parents.
"Well, you want to know why we got you baby dolls?" Riker asked his daughter.
"Yeah"
"You have a new baby just like Mommy will have a new baby." Riker said as he gasps from everyone in the room. Riker and Selena looked up to see everyone either crying or smiling. "Well, there is a little more to this announcement," Riker said. "Selena, do you want to finish off the announcement."
"Sure. Yes, I'm pregnant. But when I went to the doctor last week, he told me that I was pregnant with…twins." Selena said as her parents and sisters were in shock.
"WHAT!" Selena's parents and sisters said in unison. "Are you serious?"
"Yes, I'm serious."
"Well, how far along are you Selena?" Shelby asked.
"I'm 10 weeks," Selena announced. After everyone started to leave and congratulate Selena and Riker, Shelby and Ross heard a noise in the background; where Melody was at, and saw that she had fallen and wouldn't cry or move on the ground. They ran over by Melody's side, and they called 9-1-1.
