"Would you tell me the plan one more time?"
Joanna rolled her eyes. She loved Sebastian, but the man could be annoyingly slow sometimes. "We need Buquet out of the way, right?" Moran nodded. "So tonight during intermission, you sneak up to the rafters and finish him off."
"No I get that part. I want to know why people won't suspect me."
Fair enough. Joanna thought. She hadn't explained this bit to his lover/sniper. "There's supposedly an Opera Ghost. When I went to meet with Watson earlier he had received several threatening notes from this 'ghost'. Watson is ignoring said threats. Therefore, if a man is killed tonight, everyone will think it's the Opera Ghost. Plus no one knows you're back in London yet."
"Brilliant."
"I know. Now we need to get ready for tonight."
To say Sherlock was furious would be an understatement. How dare John? After all they'd been through. Well if John was going to ignore that so would he. The question was how. Sherlock paced around his lair for a moment. Then it hit him.
Sherlock smirked at his genius then began to get his supplies
Molly couldn't lie. She was disappointed. Sherlock had promised that she would be the Countess. She understood why John chose Irene, but why he felt the need to add insult to injury by having her play the pageboy, Molly would never know.
"Molly you're on in five." Lestrade, the stage manager, said.
"Thanks Greg." The singer sighed as she took one last look in the mirror before heading to the stage.
Mycroft was nervous to say the least. He didn't believe in the Opera Ghost of course, but someone wrote those letters and whoever they were they would probably be very angry.
Mycroft was also a little nervous as to why this person had such an interest in Molly. He wondered how much she knew about this person. If anything at all.
Mycroft put all this out of his mind as the lights dimmed and the curtain went up.
John was terrified. He'd deliberately gone against Sherlock's wishes for the first time.
"John you did what you thought was right, he can't condemn you for that." Mary tried to reassure her husband.
"He's Sherlock bloody Holmes. He can and he will."
"You two are friends. He won't do anything too drastic. Don't worry."
But John was worried. Worried that his friend's interest in Molly had turned into a full-blown obsession. An obsession that was about to take a turn for the worst.
He tried to put the thought out of his mind as the curtain went up.
