Pre-A/N: Reider, Spike, meet Frontflip…

That evening…

Reider sat in the living room quietly studying for his lectures tomorrow. As he diligently flipped through a microbiology textbook, the apartment's door swung open. "I'm back," Spike announced. His voice was full of exhaustion.

"How'd your midterm go?" Reider questioned as his roommate collapsed on the adjacent couch.

"Probably failed it," Spike admitted defeated as he massaged his eyelids.

"I'm sure you passed it. There's always the curve right?" Reider said encouragingly.

"Three words: Professor. Bailey's. Class," Spike stated in a matter-of-fact tone. "Look, the last thing I need on my mind right now is that cursed exam. What did you end up doing today?" Spike inquired as he got up to get a soda from the fridge.

"Well, my car decided to die on me right after I dropped you off, so I got a new one now," Reider informed.

"No way!" Spike shouted with excitement, the exhaustion seemingly leaving him. "Let's go for a ride man!" Spike said excitedly as he took a swig of his drink.

"It's late already and I got classes tomorrow. No can-do man," Reider decided as he organized his scattered notes on the table.

"Come on! I need a pick-me-up, and this is definitely gonna brighten up my day! Please?" Spike ushered as Reider gave him a blank look. Reider swore Spike was giving him puppy eyes at this point.

"Fine," Reider said as he got up and picked up his keys.

"Yes!" Spike cheered victoriously to which Reider let out a deep sigh. The two friends made their way down to the parking lot.

"Half an hour, that's it," Reider clarified as he got into the vehicle.

"I'll take what I can get," Spike shrugged as he entered the car as well. "Dude this thing is sick!" Spike rejoiced as he felt the leather and inhaled the new-car smell. Reider revved the engine and pulled out of the parking lot and onto the dark streets. The engine hummed lightly as the two friends continued their joyride through downtown. "I really needed this," Spike admitted as he closed his eyes and leaned his head against the headrest of the seat. "Thanks again man," Spike mumbled as he slumped into his seat. Noticing that his roommate was drifting off to sleep, Reider began to turn the vehicle around to head home. Under the dim moonlight, he suddenly noticed glaring headlights in his rear-view mirror which seemed to be closing in on his vehicle. He suddenly felt a jolt which woke Spike.

"What the heck? That guy just rear-ended my car!" Reider said feeling the anger build up inside of him. The car continued to pursue the two friends as they felt another jolt from the vehicle behind them ramming their vehicle again. "Lemme try to lose this guy," Reider said as he swerved around a corner to which the vehicle followed closely.

"What's this guy's problem?" Spike asked as he looked worriedly behind them at the glaring headlights.

"I don't know but- I think I'm losing control of this thing!" Reider said in a panicked tone as the car seemed to swerve in the opposite direction of his steering wheel which now seemed to be taking them to the city limits.

"What the heck man!" Spike screamed as the vehicle continued to speed away from the city. Suddenly, the car swerved and stopped in the middle of the road they were travelling along, now some distance away from the city.

"Get out!" a voice ordered.

"Dude did your car just-

"Get out!" the voice interrupted Spike. The two friends did as they were told and stepped out of the vehicle to witness the car that was chasing them seemed to shift with a cacophony of clunks and clanks.

"Dude that car just turned into a-

Reider's vehicle also began to shift with a symphony of clunks and clanks as the two friends looked on dumbfounded.

"Your car just turned into a robot too!" Spike shouted. The two friends watched as the two robots began to smack each other with clinks and clanks. They watched in awe as Reider's car, or what used to be his car, unsheathed a dagger-like item and stabbed it into the other robot's apparent head causing the red eyes of their pursuer to instantly flicker out. The body collapsed with a loud crash as Reider's car sheathed his dagger again. The two friends stood in silence as they watched the silhouette of the robot with his back facing them. As the bot began to turn around, Spike jumped behind Reider, cowering in fear.

"I do not wish to harm you human," the robot began. The two friends continued staring at the large figure.

"Dude say something," Spike whispered as he continued cowering behind Reider.

"My name's Reider. What's your name?" Reider greeted.

"My name is Frontflip," Frontflip replied.

"Thank you for saving us," Reider managed to say as he tried to mask his nervousness.

"No worries Reider. Know that many of your kind do not know of us," Frontflip continued.

"Wait, did he just say us? There is more than one of him out there?" Spike whispered frantically.

"It is best to keep this matter secretive, for I am in hiding," Frontflip advised as he carried the con's body and disappeared into the woods nearby.

"Is he gone?" Spike questioned, eyes glued to the trees. A sudden rustling of foliage and the large bot reappeared.

"Reider, you and the other human know too much by now. Therefore, I must stay here as I must prevent you from sharing this knowledge, your building is an adequate hiding place, and you will require my protection from now on," Frontflip informed.

"Oh, we won't tell anyone- Frontflip," Reider responded as Spike nodded silently in agreement.

"Good, now let us go home. If I remember correctly, you have classes tomorrow," Frontflip announced as he shifted back into his vehicle form. The two friends quietly entered the vehicle and sat silently as the car drove back to their apartment complex.

"Dude, your car is a robot," Spike whispered as he looked over at Reider. "You think he can do cool stuff like fly too?" Spike continued ecstatic about this new knowledge.

"I cannot fly," Frontflip responded as Spike went wide-eyed and held his hands up in surprise.

"He can hear us," Spike whispered into Reider's ear.

"And a keen sense of hearing at that," Frontflip replied as Spike pointed to the ceiling of the car and mouthed "what the heck".

Post-A/N: Your somewhat generic reveal chapter, but it does the job. Imagine knowing a giant robot. What a world that would be.
