A/N: There are some description of human biology in this chapter, since I thought that no gender bending fic would be complete without at least mentioning it. However being born male there is no way I could experience that, so most of it is done through some research and plenty of imagination.
Night had fallen over the district of Nerima; people gradually retired to their homes or headed somewhere to relax after a day of hard work. To the common citizens of the ward the day was no different from any other. However, on the top floor of a newly constructed corporate building, things were about to become quite serious.
"How is the matter proceeding?" A clear, feminine voice came out from behind closed doors. A figure stood in waiting, wearing a power suit. Facing the door, it was difficult to discern whether the person was male or female, but the pointed ears clearly showed their alien ancestry.
"Well, Milady. We currently possess over 75% of all shares. Before the end of the day we will likely take control over all 99%." The voice was also hard to distinguish, it was in the lower range of a feminine voice yet it could also be mistaken with that of a young boy.
"Excellent, you are dismissed." The figure nodded before moving away. On the other side of the door, a long haired blonde woman lounged in the large bath. The entire room was comprised of a hot tub that it could almost be mistaken for a heated pool. Flower petals floated on the surface as the feminine figure took a moment to enjoy the feeling of the water flowing over her form. She rose from the bath and walked to the edge where two female servants in bath robes awaited her. As they used fluffy white towels to dry her dripping body, their mistress grinned sinisterly as she thought of her plans. All three women had pointed ears similar to that of the figure outside.
"You shall see…the humiliation that you have brought upon me will be paid a hundred times over!" The grin on her face widened even further until she could finally hold it back anymore. "Oh ho ho ho ho!"
Her servants cringed slightly at the shrill cackle.
It had been a few days since the "Alicia incident" as some had taken to calling it. To quite a few people's relief, the girl hadn't appeared after the marathon. This only made Emilio more nervous since he knew what she was truly capable of, however Ranma merely brushed off his concerns. She will deal with her when she eventually reappears, she arrogantly thought.
Today it seems that another headache is going to present itself. It wasn't hard to notice the strangely dressed boy leaning against their school gate. He was quite tall for someone near their age, and wore a set of navy blue kendogi and hakama. Something normally worn by males in the past but now was only used in formal occasions or for kendo practices. Surely enough he held a bokken in one hand. The wooden sword was shaped in the form of a Japanese Katana. It is normally used in the practice of Kenjutsu styles. Though it is blunt it could still cause considerable harm if someone were to be hit by it, which is why in the formal Kendo competitions hollow bamboo swords are used.
The boy was sniffing a single red rose he held in his other hand while looking at the sky dramatically, letting the wind blow through his dark hair. Quite a few people had already classified him as a weirdo; however a few girls still seemed to be a bit interested due to how handsome he looked.
As Ranma and Emilio paused to observe the strange guy, they were greeted from behind by Akane. She was alone today since her sister had gone ahead citing some business.
"Hey, Akane. Good morning!" Ranma greeted back. She turned to point at the funny sight. "Look at this weird guy."
Akane followed the direction of her finger and was too late to react as the figure finally noticed her presence.
"Akane Tendo! It truly warms my heart to be finally able to see you after our long separation. It is a glorious day!" He rushed towards her from his waiting point at the gate. "Let us rejoice in our reunion!"
"Sempai? What are you doing here?" She managed to get out of the way of his embrace, but he was quite insistent as he immediately swiveled back for another try. Honestly, just when she thought that she'd managed to leave all that behind…
"Sempai, how many times do I have to tell you that I'm not interested?!" Akane pushed the man back while using her bag to block him, as he kept trying to put his arms around her. She had to keep reminding herself to keep her temper in check.
A foot suddenly met the side of the man's head, sending him sprawling into the ground. "Hey buddy, why don't you stay away from the girl? It looks to me like you're forcing yourself on her."
"Who dares!" The black haired boy looked up from his position on the ground, though his expression softened once he noticed the beautiful red headed girl who had just lowered her leg. He immediately brushed off his clothes before taking what he thought was a dramatic posture that emphasized his good looks.
"Ah, but is it not customary to give one's name first? Fine, then mine I shall give!" The blank looks that Ranma and the other students around showed that he really wasn't making a good impression.
"My name is Tatewaki Kuno, captain of the Furinkan Kendo Club. Undefeated new star of the High School Kendo world, but my peers call me: The Blue Thunder of Furinkan High!" The clasp of thunder coincided with the end of his proclamation. Since there weren't any clouds in sight, Ranma looked towards Emilio who shook his head to signify it wasn't his doing. Some people in the crowd turned to the few members of their school's kendo club that were present, but it seemed that they had never heard of him.
Inside one of the bushes near the school fence, a small figure struggled to stash the sound machine he had been entrusted with.
"As for you, my vision of loveliness, you may call me Sempai." Kuno closed in on Ranma with a rose he had taken out of his gi. However before he could get near her, his path was blocked by Emilio.
"You are being quite familiar with my intended." The Prince stared at the boy in the eyes, warning him not to take another step further.
"Your intended? Alas, I regret to inform you that it is likely that she has already been enchanted by the greatness that is the Blue Thunder." The boy was already getting on his nerves, and now he dared to lay claim on his fiancée? There was no way that Emilio would let this stand.
As Kuno continued to ramble about his radiant skills, Emilio quickly charged up a ball of lightning and detonated it at his feet. He must have been more irritated than he thought since instead of knocking the boy unconscious as he had planned, the explosion sent him flying away.
"I know he was annoying but did you really have to send him into the air like that?" Ranma stepped up beside him, watching as the dark haired boy became a spot on the horizon.
"Would you rather accept his affections?"
"What! No! I'm a man!"
Sighing at their antics, Akane moved in before their bickering could get out of hand. "Guys, let's just go inside. School is about to start. Anyway, you don't have to worry about him. I've faced him before and he's sturdier than he looks."
"Kind of like a cockroach that just won't die." She muttered under her breath before moving along with the two. The crowd in the school yard dispersed now that the show was over.
Fortunately for them and their state of mind, there were no further incidents as the day progressed.
Across the city, a pile of rubble had gathered inside a crater that was formed when something fell out of the sky. Dark figures approached as a hand suddenly burst out. They hurried to clear all the dirt and rocks as someone struggled to get free. Finally they were able to pull out the person trapped inside.
"I fight on!" Kuno shouted, pointing his bokken skyward as his retainers hastily cleared his clothing of the dirt and gravel. He was able to remain standing for a while before he crumbled to the ground once more. It was apparent that parts of his skin were singed, and he probably had a few broken bones from the impact.
As his servants wheeled him away on a stretcher, he had time to reflect on that final attack. "What could it have been? For one to take a warrior such as I by surprise…It could only have been sorcery!"
Kuno's eyes widened as the reason behind the sudden transfer of the Tendo girls became clear in his mind. It was unthinkable that his fierce tigress would bear to be apart from his radiance. Therefore surely it had to be the work of this foul sorcerer! The redheaded maiden must be under his spell as well. He would free them from his evil influence for he was Tatewaki Kuno!
He cackled madly before as sudden bump reminded him of his injuries. The servants ignored his cries of pain as they finished loading the stretcher onto the ambulance before they headed towards a private hospital funded by the Kunos.
Ranma and her companions suddenly felt a chill behind their backs.
As lunch time arrived, Akane rushed out of the classroom in search of her sister Nabiki. Followed by Ranma and Emilio, they took a glimpse into her classroom which showed that she had already left. They then went out into the school yard where they found her sitting under a tree with a few of her classmates.
Upon noticing their arrival, Nabiki nodded at the few girls with her, who then glanced at each other before leaving.
"NA…BI…KI!" Akane stomped towards her sister with a strained smile on her face as she called out her name. "What were you thinking? Letting Kuno know where we were?"
"I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about." Nabiki replied, barely giving her sister a glance as she took a delicate bite out of her lunch.
"Do you think I'm stupid? You leave early this morning then Kuno shows up?"
"I simply had some unfinished business with a few old classmates. As for Kuno-baby, he probably heard from someone else." Nabiki let the mischievous grin she had held back appear on her face. "After all, it's not like I told my friends to keep where I was transferring a secret."
Akane tried not to strangle her sister, fortunately before that could happen Ranma let her curiosity get the better of her, giving the dark haired girl something else to concentrate on.
"You know, you never told us just what that guy had to do with you." Ranma spoke up. Akane took a deep breath to calm herself down before she began to explain.
Nabiki took the chance to finish her bento and walked away, waving at her little sister who glared at her. Akane fumed as she talked about Kuno and his declaration. His statement that all who wished to date her must first defeat her somehow sent the entire school's boy population after her. As a martial artist it was good to have some challenge, but that soon lost its novelty after the umpteenth time they did it. Not to mention that as a girl it really made her lose confidence in males seeing their lust filled gazes chasing after her every morning.
"I guess there are other guys like that…" Ranma glanced sideways at the Prince after hearing her story. However Emilio noticed her gesture and took offense to that comment.
"How can you lump me together with that idiot! I'm nothing like that lunatic!"
"Well you're the one who forced me into this body…why can't you…!" As their conversation degenerated into another argument, Akane sighed. It felt nice to talk to someone else about this for once. Back in Furinkan even her so called friends took her troubles lightly, and other classmates were even a bit jealous at the attention she was getting. Well, they would surely change their minds if they had the entire school's male population after them, and they even weren't as good with martial arts as she was.
She quickly went to break the two out of their bantering, seeing that half of lunch time had already passed. As they went to retrieve their lunch, Akane hoped that for once Kuno would get a clue and leave her alone, but that was quite unlikely.
Ranma gasped as she was suddenly awakened by something. There was a feeling of tightness around her head, and as she rose from the bed she rubbed her temples to relieve the pain caused by a headache. Looking around the room, she found Akari still snuggling the blankets. Even though she tried to convince her otherwise, her little sister still kept sneaking into her bed at night. Taking care not to wake her up, Ranma moved across her and stepped down the ladder of the two story bed. She had plans to sleep in for once since it wasn't a school day and her father wasn't home, but after being woken up by a headache she had already lost her sleepiness. Sighing as she changed out of her sleepwear, she decided to head to the dojo to do some slow kata and see if she could do something to soothe this pain.
It seemed that a good workout was what she needed to get her mind off the bad start to the day. After the short practice the headache had lightened to a slow throb and was merely irritable. The bath after that also helped and by the time she arrived for breakfast she was in a slightly better mood.
However that seemed to change quickly as she saw the Prince sitting at the low table, reading the newspaper while drinking a cup of tea.
"Good morning," Emilio called out in greeting as he flipped pages.
"Good morning," Ranma answered, frowning as she took a place opposite of him. There he was, the source of all her current troubles, acting as if nothing had happened; and there wasn't anything she could do about it.
"Good morning, Ranma. Has Akari woken up yet?" Nodoka greeted as she walked out of the kitchen with a few plates. Ranma broke out of her gaze and immediately got up to help her mother with their placement. She winced slightly as the sudden movement caused the pain in her head to intensify for a moment.
"No, she was still sleeping when I left."
"Well, they say children grown faster when they sleep, and it's not as if it was a school day…" Nodoka said as mother and daughter brought out a few more dishes from the kitchen. They set aside a plate for the youngest Saotome before they sat back down to begin their meal.
"Ranma, do you have any plans for today?" Ranma paused mid-bite as she considered the question. There weren't any challenges after the series of incidents these past few weeks, and Ryoga had disappeared again so she couldn't go hang out with him. So it wasn't as if she had anything to do.
"No, not really… Why?"
"Well, I was thinking about what to make for dinner. Since Emilio really seemed to like the gyoza I had made the last time, maybe we could make a few batches in the afternoon." The Prince's ears twitched at this suggestion. The food had left a lasting impression on him. It was the first Earth food he had tasted, once he took a bite the strong flavor simply exploded inside his mouth. The outside skin was slightly crispy, and the meat inside was mixed with some sort of flavoring as well as some vegetables. Once dipped into that black sauce of theirs it tasted even better. Now if that delicacy were to be made by the hands of his beloved…
His mind went wild with imagination. In his daydream Ranma came out of the kitchen dressed in an apron, holding a plate of food in her hands. She looked slightly to the side as her face reddened in embarrassment. The girl fidgeted as she said: "I made this by myself, does it taste good?" He showered her with praises as he gulped down the delicious food with tears running down his face. Hands were placed on his shoulders and he felt Ranma suddenly press herself against him. Her face came close to the back of his head as she whispered into his ear: "Then, for dessert…"
"Why should I do anything for him?" Ranma's refusal suddenly broke him out of his fantasy. "He's just a freeloader in this house, not to mention…"
"What do you mean a freeloader?! I have done plenty of things…!" Emilio protested.
"Compared to that, you've done more trouble to me!" As the two once again began to argue, Nodoka sighed as she finished her food and went to place the dishes in the sink, waiting for them to calm down. In the end Ranma agreed to help her mother, though she explicitly stated that she wasn't doing it for the prince.
Emilio seemed to be satisfied with that answer and they finished their meal in peace. The rest of their morning was spent playing with little Akari who had woken up later on. In the afternoon though it was when thing suddenly took a strange turn.
Nodoka had noticed that they were short on some ingredients when she began the preparations alongside Ranma, since they still had quite some time before dinner she decided to send her daughter with the prince shopping.
"Oh my, it seems I miscalculated the amount I needed, and we're also a bit short on soy sauce…" Nodoka frowned as she looked at the ingredients spread out before her. "Ranma, could you be a dear and head to the mart? You can take Emilio with you."
"Why would I take him along?" Ranma grumbled but went along with the suggestion. It's not as if she could stop him if he decided to follow her.
"Now, remember to change before you leave. The clothes you have on right now are fine when you are home, but they aren't very proper if worn outside." What she had on was one of her old male shirts along with some loose pants. The way it hung loosely on her made her look cute in Nodoka's opinion, but it wasn't fit to be shown in public. "I think that a summer dress would look great on you, the weather is getting warmer now and it is a bit hot today…"
Normally Ranma would have been able to brush off such a suggestion, though if her mother still insisted she would complain but still go along with it in the end. However, today something seemed to have gone wrong as her temper suddenly short circuited.
"What?! Now way! I don't want to wear a stupid DRESS!" Nodoka and Emilio were stunned at the sudden outburst, but Ranma ignored them and continued with her rant. "It's like you forgot that I'm a man, the way you keep forcing me to wear those girly clothes!"
"Oh Ranma, I had no idea that you hated this so much…" Nodoka interrupted her, breaking her out of her tirade. The Saotome matriarch was facing her daughter, looking to her side while hiding the lower part of her face with the sleeve of her kimono. If one looked closely, there were tears at the corners of her eyes. She was acting as if the revelation was a big shock to her, taking a few steps back before twirling around and falling to the floor. With one arm still supporting her upper body she was able to get out a few words before sniffing. "To think that I haven't noticed something like that…I must be a failure as a mother!"
From Ranma's angle, it was difficult to see whether or not her mother was really crying since most of her face was still hidden behind a sleeve, but it was enough to drive her to panic. "Ack! No! I didn't mean it like that!"
"It's just some stupid clothing anyway! I don't really mind it that much. I guess some of them look nice on me, but you just keep pressing them on me without asking my opinion…" All of Ranma's previous anger seemed to shift in the other direction as she tried to calm her mother down. A sudden burst of depression was more than she could handle as she knelt down before her mother, tears beginning to fall from her eyes. "Sometimes I would like to wear something else you know…"
The 180 degree change in her daughter's attitude was a great concern to Nodoka. She stopped with her act and wiped away the tears while the Prince was at a loss with what to do. "Ranma, honey… Are you feeling alright?"
"No…I've been having this headache all morning…It's really persistent and I've been annoyed with it. Even worse is that my chest feels more sensitive somehow and I had to cut my workout short before it began to hurt…"
'Hmm…those symptoms sound a lot like…Can it be?' Nodoka came to a startling conclusion once she combined the facts, but it was still too early to tell if her hypothesis was correct. She was able to calm the sniffling girl down after a while.
"Maybe you should stay home instead? I'm sure that Akari-chan would be more than happy to help." She received a negative reply, the little girl was taking her afternoon nap and Ranma really didn't want to disturb her. Her eldest child then left the room to get changed while she took out a piece of paper to write down a few things she will need.
"Oh, it's nothing serious." The Saotome matriarch answered the unspoken question with a small grin after she noticed the concerned gaze from the Prince. "Her emotions will probably be a bit unstable so you'll probably need to look after her."
"…though you shouldn't do anything to antagonize her either." Emilio nodded at this statement, suddenly reminded of the time right after Ranma was first changed.
Ranma returned after a few minutes, wearing a dress as her mother had suggested. Nodoka handed her a grocery bag containing some money along with the list she had written out. She scanned through it before she accepted the items and departed, the Prince following behind with a worried look.
It was a brief walk to the shopping district where the super mart that their family frequented was located. The distance wasn't much, but it was enough time for Ranma to have returned to normal when they arrived. As they entered neither of them noticed the cashier's sudden panic after checking something hidden underneath the counter.
"So, what did your mother want us to buy?" Emilio asked, picking up a shopping basket from the stack.
"Well, let's see…there are the gyoza ingredients and the sauce, though she also wants some red beans and some sort of weird napkin…" Ranma looked at the page in confusion as she listed out a few of the things.
The mart wasn't very big so they were able to get all of the things in a relative short time. It also helped that Ranma was quite familiar with the layout since they shopped here often, though there was a bit of trouble with the final item on the list. Initially they had looked for it amongst the paper towel section but it simply wasn't there. Eventually they were able to find it near the female products though neither of them could make heads or tails of what it could be for. Dismissing it as unimportant, they headed to the cashier to ring up their purchase.
"What do you mean you can't sell us anything?" Ranma looked to be ready to strangle the part-time worker standing at the cash register after he refused to scan the products. He kept repeating that phrase and refused to give any explanation. It was a strange turnabout as this time Emilio was the one who had to hold back Ranma. "My family has always shopped here!"
"Calm down, Ranma!" Emilio tried to get her to listen as he grabbed her hands to prevent her from making a dent on the cash register. The young man behind it looked at her nervously but stood his ground.
"I'll take it from here." A voice interrupted them and the worker sighed in relief at the appearance of and elderly lady. The store was owned by an old couple, they alternated days in which they supervised and today it seems that it was the turn of the wife. She grabbed their basket before all but dragging them into the office she shared with her husband.
"A-auntie, what is going on?" Ranma asked, she was an old friend of the family and had always asked her and her sister to call her that. The lady gestured for her to be quiet before drawing all the blinds on the windows closed. She checked that there were no people peeking into the room and finally turned towards the couple.
"I'm really sorry about all this…but there's really not much time to explain." She sighed and grabbed the grocery bag from Ranma. "Are you sure you got everything you need? Never mind about that…we have to hurry…!"
Before she could answer, the woman began stuffing the items into the bag before covering it all with some newspaper. The groceries were then pushed into Ranma's hands and the lady started to lead them out of the room.
"But wait! What about the payment!" Ranma asked.
She shushed her once again while still pushing them. "I'll come to your home later, now just go!"
They were kicked out of the store with a half-hearted cry telling them to stay out, leaving them in complete confusion. Things were made more unsettling as the other shops in the street quickly turned their signs to "closed" or pulled down their shutters once they saw the two. The streets were soon empty at a time when it normally should be bursting with activity.
Their walk home was silent as they couldn't help but dwell on the strange occurrence. Since they didn't have any clues to what could have happened, all they could do is to put it to the back of their minds. After they arrived home they quickly handed the bags to Nodoka.
Ranma's mother had already finished with the preparations of the first batch using the ingredients she had. The meat filling was placed in a bowl and all that was left for them to do was to wrap it up with the dough. Nodoka showed them what to do before handing them aprons to prevent their clothes from getting dirty.
"Wait a minute?! Why do I have to do this?" Emilio protested. "Housework is something for the servants! Who do you think I am?"
His dismay was immediately cut short by the heated glare from Ranma. Nodoka sought to defuse the situation before it could get out of hand.
"Now, now… these days, men who know at least a bit of cooking are more popular with the ladies. Besides, knowing how to make it means that you could have it whenever you wish. You can even teach it to your cooks," Nodoka said. She moved close to the Prince to place the protective clothing in his hands and whispered into his ears. "Also, don't you think that doing things together would draw a couple closer?"
Emilio blushed slightly before accepting it. It was scary how Nodoka was able to figure out a few of the things that made him tick in such a short time. The Saotome matriarch was someone he had to watch out for.
She gave him a sly look as she turned towards Ranma. Nodoka gave her daughter a few more instructions and moved back to the kitchen to make a second batch. The two of them went to wash their hands and sat down on the table after they returned. They worked in silence as they wrapped the dumplings, though Emilio would sneak a glance at Ranma once in a while.
Time passed quickly as they continued with their work. Even with the help of Akari who eventually joined them, they hadn't finished until it was time for dinner. Ranma helped with cleaning of the table while Nodoka cooked the first batch of gyoza they had made. As they waited for the meal, the television was turned on and they surfed through the channels. Just as Nodoka brought out the plates Genma arrived home from work.
He announced himself with a weary voice as he took off his shoes at the entrance. It was with heavy footsteps that he walked towards the living room where he collapsed upon reaching it.
"Whoa, what's up pops? What happened to you?" Ranma said as she came over to her father's fallen body. Akari gathered around him with her and they proceeded to prod and poke him.
Genma slapped away their hands then sat straight up. He readjusted his glasses as he tried to regain his composure.
"Well, today I was…" He began to say something but then his eyes centered on his lovely wife and he turned into something of a nervous wreck. "I…was…errm…ehehe…"
"Let me guess…you were fired again?" Ranma said with a blank look before sighing. "Honestly, it wouldn't be the first time that this has happened."
"Be quiet boy! I didn't do anything wrong this time!"
"Oh, so what was the reason this time?" Nodoka finally spoke, putting a halt to the ensuing argument.
"Erm, right! This morning the company I was working in was bought by another corporation, after the changes in management there was a huge lay-off. I was simply one of those that were affected," He explained, laughing nervously and hoping that this would be good enough to get Nodoka off his case.
"Right…given how lazy you are it was probably a matter of time before it happened anyway…" Ranma stated.
"How can you say that about your dear old father? Woe is me for having such a disrespectful son!" Genma wailed. While it was true that he barely did more work than absolutely necessary, and often cleaned out the complimentary snacks in the recreation rooms, there was no need to point that out. Ranma should have more consideration for her father who worked hard to ensure that they had a meal on the table, he thought.
Before the two of them could start bickering again, the entire room's attention was drawn to the television where a news flash had cut in.
"We interrupt your regular programming for this breaking news!" the news anchor announced as the camera panned him into view. "The government has recently released a statement that most of the country's stocks have been bought out by the Titania Corporation. Upon conferring with other countries, it appears that similar situations have occurred worldwide. As of now, this recently built corporation holds over 90% of the entire world's stock."
"Wait a minute! That's the name of the corporation that bought the company this morning!" Genma jumped at this announcement. "They're the ones that laid me off!"
"Worldwide authorities have begun investigation into the legalities of this matter. For the time being, it can be said that Titania has effectively taken over the world." The anchorman was suddenly interrupted as someone handed him a piece of paper from off screen. He only took a brief glance at it before he broke out in sweat. "N-now, we interrupt this news with a word from our new sponsor."
The image was changed into a darkened room where someone could be seen standing in front of the camera. Spotlights suddenly flashed on, revealing the feminine figure wearing a sharp power suit.
"Greetings to all masses, I am Alicia Valvert; President of the Titania Corporation." The screen showed Alicia sitting behind a grand office desk as she began her announcement. Ranma and Emilio jumped as her face was revealed, they already had their suspicions when the news first said the name of the corporation, but it was a bit of a surprise to see her appear on television like this.
"For those who still hadn't grasped the situation, my corporation holds control over many, if not all companies in this world." She grinned confidently as she stood up from her chair; the camera followed her as she walked over to the front of the desk. "Despite effectively taking over the world, you need not to worry. We have no intention of interfering with your economic activities, or your daily lives."
She stopped at a certain distance from the desk, and crossed her arms. "However, for those who have humiliated me, you will receive your dues."
The image on the screen was suddenly cut off after she finished her statement. Though it was brief, the video was broadcasted live all over the world and translated into the local language. Most of the populace would probably put it behind them and move on with their lives. However for the few that had a better understanding on the situation, they will hold their breath as they wait for the other shoe to drop.
"This is terrible! I was fired because of that girl! Do something about it, Ranma!" Genma pointed at his daughter.
"What!" Ranma was stunned at the sudden leap of logic of her father.
"Alicia…wasn't that the girl that came after the Prince over a week ago?" Nodoka pondered, however further discussion was suspended by the ringing of the doorbell. The family followed her to the front door to see who would visit at this time of the night. To their surprise, it was the elderly owner of the super mart. Behind her, her husband waited by a truck that seemed to be packed full of things.
"A-aunty? What are you doing here?" Nodoka asked. The elderly woman gave her a sad smile before answering.
"Ranma-chan came by earlier, she had to leave in a hurry so I brought some things that I think you might need."
"Ah, that's right, the money…" Ranma gasped in surprise as she suddenly recalled that she hadn't paid yet. The shop owner stopped her and gestured towards a few stacked baskets with food that she left near their door.
"Aunty, what's going on? We can't possible accept all this." Nodoka began to speak but was interrupted once again.
"The truth is that we had taken out a loan to expand our store into the mart that it is today." The woman explained with a grave face. "We've always met our payments punctually, but now they say that we will have to need to pay the rest at once unless we do what they say…"
"The other shops in the district are in a similar predicament, anyone who didn't follow they orders were told to move out at the end of the day."
"Orders…?" Nodoka gasped, already seeing where this was going.
"Everyone was told not to sell anything to your family, but I've known you ever since you were a young woman…" She gave Nodoka a sad smile. "I simply couldn't bear seeing your family treated like that."
Her husband came over, telling her that it was time to leave. "Don't worry, while it pains us to leave our home, my husband and I will persevere. I'm sure that you and Ranma-chan will manage. Don't give up!"
They watched in silence as the truck slowly drove away from their family home, taking away with it an old family friend. Emilio looked at Ranma in worry as she had her head down and hadn't said anything since the woman began her explanation.
"Ranma…" He held out a hand to place it on her shoulder, but was surprised when she suddenly raised her head, a look of determination on her face.
"Let's go!" she said.
It was already quite dark in the business district as most of the workers had already clocked out after an entire day of hard work. The streets were mostly empty, and silence had begun to settle in. However, in the newly built headquarters of the Titania Corporation, things were about to heat up.
"Tell your boss to come out!" Ranma slammed her hands on the receptionist's desk. Behind her, Emilio calmly stood, silently putting pressure on the young woman currently on rotation with his stoic gaze. Genma had naturally chickened out and refused to come despite the disapproving looks his wife was sending him.
It was her first day on the job, and already something like this had happened, the receptionist sighed. "B-but, without an appointment…and with the president…"
"It's fine, the president has been expecting them. Let them pass." To the young woman's relief, a figure suddenly stepped into the reception area and interrupted them. Upon first glance it was hard to distinguish whether the person was a man or a woman, but under close inspection it could be seen that the suit currently worn clearly had a feminine cut. The woman was evidently of Titanian origin, as shown from her pointed ears. Her hair was of a light blonde color and was cut short in a way similar to that of the Prince.
"M-miss Camilla…" The receptionist bowed to her before sitting back down. Now that she had their attention, Camilla gestured for them to follow her.
"Please come this way." She lead them inside the nearby elevator, they waited in silence as it rose through the building to reach the top level.
The doors opened into a vast empty floor that showed a grand view of the night of Tokyo through floor windows. There was a set of leather sofa atop an expensive looking rug to the side of the room, but currently their attention was on the woman standing behind a large desk that was directly in front of where they entered. She was taking in the view and didn't seem to notice their arrival at first.
"Milady," Camilla announced their arrival.
"What is it? So noisy…" She still had her back to them, but eventually turned around with her arms crossed. "Ah, I do believe that you're that servant of mine whom I've fired."
"Ranma, was it?" Alicia lifted one of her arms to place her hand on the cheek, looking as if she were trying to recall her name. She was still wearing the suit she had on during the news announcement, making her look quite professional. Her arms remained in that position as she continued speaking. "Well, if you're here to reapply for that position I'm afraid we no longer…"
"Stop acting like you don't know why we're here!" Ranma interrupted her. "Why did you involve innocent people into this?"
"Innocent people? I still don't know what you're…" The sudden ring of the elevator drew their attention. The doors opened to admit a group of black suited bodyguards surrounding a person with a bag on their head.
"My apologies, Milady. We were only able to apprehend one of the main perpetrators," The group leader announced once they entered. They all had pointed ears, showing that they weren't Earthlings. The bound and gagged form of a male Akane was revealed as he fell to the ground, having been pushed forward as the bag was removed from his head. "However, we are currently in pursuit of the other minor offenders."
Seeing that it was no longer possible to hold on to her ruse, Alicia had no choice but to admit her plans.
"Fine! That's right! This is revenge!" She lost all of her composure as she pointed at Ranma in anger. "Never before have I received such humiliation!"
"To have my fiancé stolen by a commoner male…moreover, being exposed in such a state…" As her anger neared the boiling point, her servants quickly acted to calm her down lest she destroy the building.
"Even so, why did you involve the others?" Ranma asked in anger.
"The crime of being humiliated, you cannot atone alone." Once Alicia had calmed down a bit, she continued with her accusation. "This world belongs to me now, even the Prince cannot stop me…"
"I see now…" Ranma crossed her arms, bowing her head slightly before looking at Alicia in the eyes. "You're a coward."
"What?!" Alicia was stunned by this sudden accusation. "I…cowardice?"
"Your grudge is with me, but instead of challenging me outright, you chose to go at innocent people just because they were involved with me. You're afraid of facing me!"
"Wait…Ranma what are you doing?" Emilio came to a realization too late as Ranma's taunt reached its desired effect.
"Fine then! I challenge you!" Alicia gripped her fist to try and hold herself back, as her temper was hovering dangerously close to her limit.
"I accept your challenge!" Ranma smirked. "When I win you will return everything to normal."
"As if that will happen… when I win you will give up your claim on the Prince!" Alicia regained her composure in time, giving a confident smile in return.
Each of them were sure of their own skills, believing that they will have the upper hand. Emilio's protests fell on deaf ears as they imagine their eventual triumph over each other. Nearby Akane struggled on the floor as he was all but forgotten in the confrontation.
"You could have untied me earlier!" Akane ranted as she walked alongside Ranma and Emilio. Enough time had passed for her to return to her female form. She was still wearing her pajamas because she had been kidnapped by Alicia's guards directly from her room. Though the two of them had procured some footwear for her, she was still annoyed at being left tied up on the floor until they finally remembered about her.
"We already apologized for that…besides, it's not like we could just walk over while still confronting Alicia." Akane nodded at that and sighed, finally relaxing.
"So…you're going to be fighting her?" She asked Ranma, changing the topic to put that embarrassing episode behind them.
"Yeah, we've already beat her once. Her weakness is exposed now, so how hard can it be?" Ranma said, putting her arms behind her head.
"You forget that she is still capable of turning into a giant. The last time it took three of you to even topple her. Not to mention that it was by a fluke that you even beat her in the end." Emilio reminded her.
"Details, details…the important thing is that she was beaten, right?" She stubbornly refused to acknowledge that fact. "Besides, she is too embarrassed to change in front of an audience right? So all we have to do is to make a spectacle out of it."
Emilio didn't think that it would be so simple, but gave up trying to change her mind as the challenge was already set. The time and place was still left open, Alicia had "graciously" allowed them the honor as they would probably need all the help they can get. As they headed towards the Tendo dojo he couldn't help but to be worried.
After they finally arrived at Akane's home, they were greeted by a tear-stricken Soun who was worried about his baby-girl being kidnapped again. They were eventually able to pry the grateful Tendo patriarch from Ranma and Emilio as he had hugged them once he saw that his daughter was back safe and sound. Since it was getting quite late they merely exchanged their farewells before heading straight home.
With a brief explanation of what had happened once they arrived back in the Saotome residence, Ranma and Emilio retreated to their respective rooms to relax after the hectic day.
Ranma sighed as she settled into her bed. Since Akari was already asleep in her own bed, hopefully she would be able to sleep alone for once. "Today sure was tiring…"
Her body was feeling off the entire day, and then that confrontation with Alicia happened. There were many other things that she would have to worry about in the future, but for now her main priority was sleep. "Well, at least that stupid headache is finally gone…hopefully nothing else is going to happen."
Her words proved to be prophetic as a sudden pain hit her in the stomach. She curled up into herself to try and alleviate the ache. 'What…stomach cramps?"
As a martial artist she was trained to handle the pain, she gritted her teeth and eventually managed to stumble out of the bed. The sensation was quite unlike any stomach ache she had felt before and already she could feel some sort of wetness in her underwear. Hurriedly she headed towards the bathroom before she could embarrass herself in her room.
"It must have been something really bad for it to hurt this much…" She said over gritted teeth as she finally reached her destination. Without further ado, she plopped down on the toilet after pulling down her pajama bottom and underwear in one stroke. As she looked down, she finally noticed in horror the red liquid that had stained the cotton material.
That moment suddenly felt like an eternity.
She screamed.
Emilio was the first to rush to the scene as he was worried about what would have happened to make Ranma react like that. Upon entering he was grabbed by a hysteric girl who kept sputtering about whether she was going to die. Just as he was going to call over a group of medical staff from his castle, Nodoka came into the room.
"Oh dear, I was afraid this might happen." She took a glance at Ranma's state and quickly assessed the situation. Turning to the nearby cabinet, she took out a package that Emilio recognized as the napkins they had bought earlier in the day. Nodoka gently grabbed Ranma from the Prince and began to comfort the girl while saying soothing words into her ear. The Prince looked at her curiously as she did this.
"Oh, it's nothing life threatening. You can relax," she said upon noticing his glance. "I will have to explain a few things to her though, it would be better that you not be around."
Seeing that he was refusing to budge, Nodoka said a few words into his ear. Emilio immediately paled and left the bathroom in a hurry.
"Now Ranma…I thought that you would have learned about this in school…"
The next morning Ranma woke to the familiar ceiling of the room she shared with Akari, though the location of her view was different than what she was used to. After the events of last night they ended up having to put futons in the middle of the room since she refused to let go of her mother. She shuddered as she recalled some of the things that were explained to her. They must have had that class back when she was on a training trip because she never recalled hearing anything about this. Her mother never made a fuss about her own situation, but she remembered that she seemed to be more irritable during certain times each month.
Ranma groaned as her movement reminded her of a certain thing that her mother had her place inside her underwear after she switched the clothing for a clean one. There was some talk about an alternative she should use due to her more active lifestyle, but the thought of placing something inside there was simple….ugh.
She struggled with the bedding once more before giving up. There was no chance for her getting back to sleep now due to being fully awake, and with the persistent pain she's having to endure right now she wasn't too comfortable staying like this anyway.
Nodoka had already left the room to prepare for breakfast, and Akari was still clinging to her. She had been woken up sometime during the commotion last night and jumped straight in once their mother had announced that she would be sleeping in their room.
Gently plucking her littler sister's fingers from her clothing, Ranma picked her up and set her down on her bed. She gave a cute little moan before turning to grab her pillow and snuggle into it. The sight brought a slight smile to Ranma's face; she stared at Akari's sleeping form for a moment before turning around to gather up the futon.
She grabbed her supplies then headed to the bathroom to wash up; surely a hot bath would make her feel better.
However, once she arrived she discovered that the furo was empty. Turning the faucet proved to be no use as there was no water coming out. She headed downstairs where her mother was sure to be located. "Mom? What's going on, there's no water?"
"Oh, Ranma…you're awake. I had your father ask around." Nodoka greeted her as she came out of the kitchen, taking off her apron. "It seems that there's going to be some sort of construction work scheduled, so they cut off all the utilities."
"Strangely enough, our house seems to be the only one that is affected in the neighborhood." This brought a tick onto Ranma's forehead. It was already strange for everything to be cut off suddenly without any notice, but for their home to be the only one affected? That was really suspicious.
The normal noise of the television in the morning was gone as there was simply no electricity to run it. Looking around she found her father sitting in the living room flipping through a newspaper. Though if one looked closely it appeared to be yesterday's issue. Her attention was then drawn by the arrival of Emilio, which reminded her of the "condition" she was currently going through. His greeting died in his mouth at the "death glare" she was sending him. It would be best for him to keep his distance in the following days.
The quite morning was suddenly interrupted by a heavy banging on their front door.
"Saotome! Saotome! Come out! I know you're in there!" a man's voice called out. Genma cringed as he recognized who was hollering.
With both his wife and his daughter glaring at him, Genma had no choice but to face his fate. He headed towards the porch and unlocked the door, which was then pushed open before he could touch the handle. Jumping back he narrowly avoided being hit by the door, but as he looked up he was greeted by a demonic visage.
"Genma Saotome! What is going on now?" Soun Tendo roared into the face of his old time friend and training partner as he implemented the Tendo School's intimidation technique, the dreaded Demon Head. His head seemed to swell to several times its original size as horns grew of his forehead, a forked tongue could be seen slipping out of his mouth as he spoke, and flames seemed to have ignited in his eyes. "Why were the utilities cut over at my house?"
"Could you keep it down! It's too early in the morning for this." Soun's demonic illusion deflated at the frozen gaze Ranma was sending him. It was a look that he only knew too well from having three daughters. He shivered as he remembered the time when it happened to all three of them at once.
"Ahem, right…so Genma, mind explaining." Soun coughed into his hand in an attempt to regain his composure.
"What makes you think I had anything to do with it?"
"Well, mainly because of this." The Tendo patriarch brought out a piece of paper. A crude drawing of a miniature Alicia pulling down her eyelid with her tongue stuck out was on it. Below it the words "Blame Saotome" were written.
Ranma sweat-dropped at this. She could only wonder where Alicia learned about this form of insult but it was more immature than she would expect from her.
"Alicia…" She sighed. It seems that even with the challenge it wouldn't stop her from doing these things as revenge.
"Well, that's what I tried to say, but then daddy ran off before I could explain." Ranma looked behind Soun to find Akane and her sisters. With no electricity and water in the house there wasn't much they could do so they decided to follow along.
"Oh my, so you're in a similar predicament? It is quite inconvenient to work without the utilities. Perhaps you can do something about it, Prince?" Nodoka came out of the living room to see what was going on.
"If that's the case, I can have a team of engineers sent here as soon as possible. Meanwhile, why don't we retreat to my castle as they work?" Emilio offered.
"Hey! What about us?" Akane asked as it appeared that the Prince was going to leave them out to dry.
"The reason why this happened to them was your fault, you know…" Ranma deadpanned. Considering that it was his wife-to-be asking, Emilio found that he had no reason to object. The Tendos weren't close enough for him to justify offering the same help, but he could handle housing them while the renovations were done in the Saotome home.
"Of course, you are invited as well." With the decision made, they retreated to the living room while Ranma went to wake up Akari. Emilio opened a gate in the yard and led them all through after the Saotome sisters returned.
No matter how many times they see it, the Ordlit Castle was quite impressive. It was even more so for the Tendos who were here for the first time. Their eyes widened as they took in the vast gardens and the massive building in front of them.
"Welcome back, My Lord." Once again, rows of servants greeted them at the entrance. They were led away to change while Emilio stayed behind, though this time it was his Prime Minister Grindelwald who approached.
"My Lord, has something happened for you to return so suddenly?" he asked. "…and with guests as well?"
"Please inform me when the meals have been prepared." Emilio said and walked away, leaving behind the bewildered man.
For breakfast they had laid out a full course meal. Every dish looked delicious and they had dug in as soon as the Prince announced it. The women had all changed into expensive looking dresses while the two patriarchs had refused, stating that they were more comfortable in their gi. Emilio watched in slight annoyance as the two male martial artists ate like ravenous animals, though Ranma seemed to have learned her lesson and was acting in a more civilized manner. However one has to wonder whether she tasted anything given how fast she was inhaling the food.
"Genma, Soun." A single glare from Nodoka reminded them of where they were and they became more subdued. Beside her, Kasumi also gave them a disapproving look.
"You sure have a sweet deal going here, Ranma. If I were you I would grab on to him and never let go." Nabiki commented as she cut through a piece of meat. "Think about it, you could live like this every day if you married him."
The sudden glare Ranma sent her took her by surprise. Given what she had seen of her character, Nabiki expected her to be more carefree. Suddenly reminded about the rumors of the girl's role in taking down a giantess, she quickly moved to placate her.
"Relax, relax…It was only a joke." She sighed in relief when Ranma finally looked away from her.
"My Lord, are you absolutely sure about this?" Grindelwald began to ask but Emilio hushed him before turning to Ranma.
"Ranma, are you still certain of your chances against Alicia?" he asked.
She put down the ice cream she was currently enjoying, and sighed at the Prince for bringing this up again. Deciding that Emilio wasn't going to let up on this matter, she elaborated a bit on her thoughts. "Well, from what I've seen she doesn't have any hand to hand skills, so the only problem is from her giant form."
"Since it is embarrassing for her to be seen in that form, fighting her where there are a lot of people would effectively lock out that option." Ranma explained, piquing Nabiki's interest.
"Hmm…a public spectacle, huh? I think I have an idea. But I'll need to know more about this Alicia person, and make a few calls…" Nabiki's eyes glinted as she sensed a money making opportunity.
"Calls…? Oh, right. Then it's the perfect opportunity to give you this." Emilio gesture at one of his servants, who came over with a cloth covered tray. He removed it to reveal several rectangular devices around the size of their hands. The maids walked over to hand them to the girls, as well as one for Nodoka. Both fathers were left empty handed, but they weren't interested in that and merely gave them a curious glance.
"What is it?" Nabiki and the others examined the little gadget. One of them pulled at the two separate plates and it flipped open to reveal a screen and a keypad on each side.
"The technology you use is quite primitive, but my research department was able to analyze it and come up with this. It is a portable communications device." Emilio explained. "With it you should be able to make calls wherever you are."
Nabiki's eyes widened as she thought of the possibilities of such a device, while the others merely thought it was quite "neat" and gave them back to the maids who collected them to put amongst their belongings.
"Now…about this plan you were talking about?" Emilio leaned forward to hear what she had to say.
"How about we take this somewhere…private?" Nabiki answered with a conspiring look, sneaking a glance at Ranma who was once again concentrating on her dessert.
"Very well." Emilio agreed, recognizing the look.
Days passed and whatever it was that the two had planned, they were tight lipped about it. The challenge terms were sent and all they could find out about it was that it was to take place after Ranma was feeling better, and that the location was going to be at their school.
Nodoka had allowed Ranma to be excused from school for a few days, and they returned home after Emilio's engineers were done with it. They had put in what the Prince had called an energy converter of some sort, and they no longer needed to rely on the power grid. The water was a bit of a problem. Though a recycling device was put in, it was for emergencies only since it was preferable that they have a steady supply. In the end they dug out a small reservoir under the land and put in a large amount taken from Ordlit. The entire modification was done in two days.
On the outside nothing seemed to have changed much on the Saotome household, but many appliances inside were "upgraded". The water heater and stove were changed into electrical variants to cut off reliance on the gas company, the bulky CRT television in their living room was changed into a large flat screen one that was laid into their wall, and the Prince even put in an air conditioning device that could "control the temperature for his entire castle alone". He boasted that with a click of a button he could make the room as hot as a desert, or even as cold as the Arctic. Even better was that it was so efficient that it ran on less power consumption than their old television.
"Well…thanks Emilio." Ranma managed to get out after they finished the tour of the house, though she refused to look at him in the eyes when she said it. After an entire day of pampering at the castle she was finally feeling better. Emilio now had a silly grin on his face as they looked at Akari merrily surfing through the million channels they now had on their television.
The next few days passed by quite peacefully and soon the day of the challenge had arrived. Unknown to Ranma who had stayed home for the duration, fliers had been handed out around the area announcing the event. Before long a large crowd had amassed at the Heimei High School pool. The spectator stands were filled to the brim, many of them waving small flags that bore Ranma's likeness. Banners decorated the side of the pool, and a floating platform had been set up in the middle of it.
"What's the big idea, Nabiki!" Ranma complained as she walked out of the changing area. She was clad in the school swimming suit and had her hair tied up in a bun with a style reminiscent of her mother. "…and why are there so many stuff with my face on it!"
"Why, Ranma…haven't you heard of merchandising?" Nabiki answered with a smirk. She was wearing a two piece swimsuit and held a microphone in one hand. The crowd suddenly went wild as they noticed the two of them standing at the side of the pool. Cameras immediately went flashing. "It is a must when doing events like this."
"Stop taking pictures!" Ranma shouted at her classmates. Seeing that she was having no effect on the rabid photographers, she eventually gave up and turned back to Nabiki. "Anyway, why was I forced to wear this thing?"
"Well, it is expected for one to wear a swimsuit when at the pool." Nabiki said as she set up the microphone stand. "Oh, I'm sorry. Maybe you prefer something more like what I'm wearing?"
Somewhere nearby Akane slapped her forehead as she should have expected something like this from her sister.
"What! No! I mean what's the point in fighting in something like this?"
"Well, Alicia will be wearing the same thing. She will be too embarrassed to change into her giant form." Nabiki explained. "Besides, the Prince agreed to this as well."
Ranma glared at Emilio who had entered the pool behind her. "There's no way that Alicia would agree to something like this."
Contrary to her statement, said girl walked in at that moment wearing the same type of school swimming suit. Alicia's long hair was now done in twin braids then pinned up on both sides of her head in buns.
"What have I gotten myself into…" Alicia walked with a hand on her hip, walking in with as much grace she could muster despite her own embarrassment. She held her head up but there was a hint of a blush on her face. "I mean I've heard of women's wrestling but I didn't expect there to be a uniform like this. Is this what you normally wear for such competitions on this planet?"
Those who could hear her nearby sweated at her naivety, though nobody had the courage to correct her misunderstanding. Well, nobody except for one person.
"They lied to you; you should have refused at that point!" Ranma said to her.
"No way! You think I would turn my back on a commoner?!" Alicia shouted, ignoring her two servants who were begging her to reconsider. The two of them were then led onto the floating platform. A cross marked the center of it, and lines were placed to represent where the competitors should stand on the beginning of the match. The crowd was beginning to get restless as they sensed that the event was about to begin.
"Welcome! To the first ever Round of the Prince Battle! In this event both females will fight to determine who will it be that finally gets the hand of Prince Emilio!" Nabiki announced with a cheerful tone. The audience cheered and cameras flashed once again, though every now and then sounds of "I knew it!", and cries of dismay could be heard.
"Wait a minute! That's not it!" Ranma tried to complain but nobody seemed to have heard her over the commotion.
"Humph, so you finally admit it. No matter!" Alicia looked at her opponent, completely ignoring what she was saying. "The Prince will be mine soon!"
"…and now! For the terms of the match!" The contestants' attention was drawn back to Nabiki as she began to explain the rules. "As you can see, the platform they're standing on currently floats in the middle of the pool. This is where the special rules come into effect."
"The contestants will be given five chances to return to the platform if they're knocked off. However, they will only be given thirty seconds to try." She paused to let everyone take in what she had said. "This will be a straight match between two opponents! Lethal blows are prohibited! Apart from that, anything goes!"
Nabiki raised her hand to announce the start of the match. Both opponents stiffened as they waited for the signal. The sound of a large horn blew as Nabiki swung her arm down.
Ranma and Alicia stood still as they waited for the other to act; it wasn't long before one of them lost their patience. Alicia ran towards her in a simple looking push. It didn't look like there was much force behind it so Ranma decided to just block it and counterattack. To her surprise, she was knocked off her feet and sent flying.
"Even in this form, she still retains the same strength she has in her giant form!" Emilio shouted over the countdown as Ranma swam back to the platform.
"Well you could have told me that earlier!" Ranma complained as she got out of the water. She looked back at her opponent to see her give a confident grin, taunting her.
Blocking would be useless now given her strength, and the material of the platform didn't provide much traction anyway. So this time she would have to go on the offensive. Something tickled at her senses as she charged forward with a strike. Just as she was about to reach her, the platform tilted in the direction of her opponent and she lost her footing. A palm caught her as she fell and she was sent flying once more.
"She still retains the same mass! Her weight remains the same no matter what form she is in. To avoid cracking the ground with every step they normally use magic to counteract that, but it can be easily controlled." Emilio came forward with another "helpful" comment. Ranma was beginning to curse the fact that she hadn't drilled him for everything he knew about her opponent before the match.
If the magic she used was similar to that of Emilio's, then her senses should be able to catch when it is about to change. Ranma thought as she recalled the feeling she got before the platform moved due to the change in her opponent's weight. This time she would be ready for it.
Charging towards Alicia once again, she concentrated on the tingling on her senses that she was getting from the girl. A sudden spike alerted her to the change. She was able to keep her footing this time as she continued with her attack, hitting her target straight on. However she misjudged the strength that was needed. Despite being surprised at the successful hit, Alicia didn't budge as she recovered from it and sent Ranma flying once more.
'Dammit, what will it take to move this girl?' Ranma thought as her tactical mindset went into overdrive. She took her time swimming back to the platform, pushing the limits of her 30 second reprieve. As she looked around, she noticed that the elderly couple who owned the mart was inside the crowd, cheering energetically for her.
After getting out of the water for the third time, Ranma slapped both cheeks to put her mind back on the game. 'I don't have enough strength to push back the weight of a giant, and her own is enough to send me flying with a simple push. I can't block or attack, which only leaves dodging."
This time she waited for Alicia to make a move. Sure enough, the girl eventually got tired of watching her and decided to do something. She walked over confidently and thrust a hand to "push" Ranma once more. However Ranma was prepared for it and easily moved out of the way. A couple more attempts met with the same result and eventually the girl lost her patience.
"Arrgh! Stand still!" Alicia shouted as she struggled to get a hit on her elusive opponent.
"No way!" Ranma smirked as she narrowly avoided the strikes, infuriating the girl. She maneuvered around the platform, gradually leading them to the edge.
'That's right, I was over thinking this." Ranma grinned as she neared the completion of her plan. 'She doesn't have any formal training so her attacks are easy to see through. Even though she can control her weight using magic, she is limited to a certain amount otherwise the platform would have already sunken. She can't use it while on the move either, since she can't afford having the platform moving around so much and distracting her.'
'After that, all that is left is…' There were many styles that Ranma had learned over the course of her life. Out of those there were many techniques that specialized in using their opponent's strength against them. It was one of those that she used as she moved to the side of Alicia's next attack. She grabbed the hand as it went past her, using her foot to make the girl lose balance at the same time and redirected the body straight into the water.
The crowd cheered as a cross was finally added to Alicia's side of the counter. She waited at the side as they counted down the time, waiting for the alien princess to surface.
"Wow, Ranma was finally able to get a ring out from Alicia." Akane commented as she stood at the side of the Prince.
"With that, Ranma has already won." Emilio said confidently.
"What do you mean?"
"Alicia can't swim. Her body is too dense for it to float, in that form she would sink straight to the bottom." He explained. "If she doesn't panic she should be able to lighten her body using magic and do so, but she has never bothered to learn the techniques."
As the counting reached zero, people were finally beginning to notice the panicked state that Alicia's two guards were in; shouting at them to drain the water immediately. To everyone's surprise, Ranma immediately jumped into the water.
The bubbles gradually began to clear as she swam deeper into the pool, she began to search for the princess and eventually found her struggling somewhere near the bottom. Heading there immediately, Ranma grabbed her arm and began pulling them to the surface.
Alicia must have still had some sort of control over her magic since her weight was still somewhere near that of a normal person. However as Ranma neared the edge of the pool she felt her struggles cease. She looked back to see that the taller girl had lost consciousness and now her body was beginning to feel heavier.
'She must have lost control of her magic now that she's knocked out…we don't have much time!' Ranma thought as she frantically reached for the surface. However she must have tried too hard as the muscle on one of her legs suddenly contracted involuntarily. 'A leg cramp! At a time like this…"
Using the last of her strength, she was able to pull Alicia over her and send her flying out of the water. She relaxed as she saw that the alien girl was back safely on land and sank. The last thing she managed to see before losing consciousness was the shadow of someone splashing into the pool.
The land of the awake was one place that seemed a little bit difficult to return to once having gone into unconsciousness. During sleep it appears that the transition is nearly seamless, but in this case it would be similar to walking through a thick fog as it cleared. As Ranma's eyes gradually refocused, the first thing she noticed was the concerned face of her mother.
"How do you feel?" Her mother asked. There was a dull ache in her chest, and her leg still hurt from being cramped earlier. The other people soon noticed that she was awake and the physician took over the questioning as she was checked for the aftereffects of nearly drowning.
"What happened?" Ranma asked after the doctor declared a clean bill of health. With a few days of rest and she will be back as new.
"Well…" Nodoka seemed to hesitate a bit before she explained, as she didn't know how her daughter would take the news. "After you saved that girl from the pool, you never surfaced. People were beginning to panic when the Prince jumped in to get you out."
She pointed at Emilio who was standing behind. "You nearly drowned; he had to perform CPR to make you breathe again."
"You mean that he…" Logically she knew what the procedure was for, and she was grateful that he saved her life. However the only thing she could concentrate on right now is the fact that he had placed his lips on her.
"Get out…" Her voice was too low for it to be heard the first time. As they leaned forward to get a better idea of what she was saying, Ranma finally couldn't take it anymore. "Get out! Now!"
The doctor suggested that they give her a bit of space, as everyone left the room Nodoka excused her child's behavior. Now that she was left alone, Ranma fell back onto the bed and curled into the blankets.
"I know I should be sick to my stomach at the thought being kissed by a man…" Ranma shifted as she turned her head to look outside the window, staring at the now darkening sky. "Yet I feel nothing…well, maybe a little bit disturbed…"
"…and there's also a bit of…annoyance?" She moved around in the bed again before she was suddenly reminded of another fact. "He did that in front of the whole crowd, didn't he? Every one watched as he k-ki-"
She wasn't able to finish that sentence as she groaned and turned around to bury her burning face in the pillow, trying to get away from the embarrassment she felt. Eventually she was able to calm herself once again and she lay back on the bed.
"Would I have acted this way before the change, I wonder?" Ranma sighed as she tried to analyze her own reactions. She sudden came to a realization. 'Could it be? Are the changes from the medicine that complete? Could it even affect how I think?'
"I need to find a way to turn back to a man!" She said to herself. However her introspection was interrupted as the door to the infirmary was opened without warning. She got up and was surprised to see that it was Alicia who entered.
"What do you want?" Ranma tried to give her a neutral look, but a bit of annoyance still slipped into her voice.
Alicia hesitated as she looked at the girl currently sitting in the bed. It was a far cry from the normal haughty appearance that she presented. Ranma looked curiously at the meekly acting princess.
"I…well…" She struggled to find the words before finally settling on a topic. "Why did you save me?"
Ranma sighed, before concentrating on her once again. "Must there be a reason?"
"What?"
Ignoring Alicia's startled look, Ranma moved her eyes away from the girl as she continued to talk. "A martial artist must protect the weak. That is something that has been drilled into me from an early age."
"Apart from that, it is normal to help when you see that there's someone in need."
"B-but I'm such a horrible person." Alicia didn't quite know how to respond to that answer, but it was apparent that she was feeling a bit disgusted with herself. Tears were gathering at the corners of her eyes.
"It doesn't matter…" Ranma said; then her serious expression turned into a smile. "Besides, doesn't the fact that you've admitted that mean that you're actually a good person at heart?"
Alicia looked up in surprise. At that moment the final rays of the setting sun shone through the windows, giving an illusion of having a halo of light around Ranma. She watched in confusion as her heart began to beat faster at the sight of her opponent's brilliant smile. She could feel her face starting to redden and turned around before the other girl could see her.
"I admit defeat." Alicia sighed, trying to compose herself. "As per the terms, I will be returning everything to normal."
She still couldn't calm her beating heart, and stormed out of the room before Ranma could make a response.
Inside a darkened room, Alicia looked at the ceiling from the comfort of her soft bed, she couldn't help but think about a certain person that had occupied her mind for the past few days. She had locked herself into her room ever since that day at the pool, opening the doors only to admit food or whatever she had ordered. The heavy curtains were drawn closed, darkening the room and making it difficult to discern whether it was day or night. She had long since lost any sense of time anyway so it didn't matter. No matter what she did her thoughts kept returning to her.
Her face flushed as she recalled once again the smile she had been given that day. But no! How could it be? Though the galactic empires have long since gotten rid of any bias against same sex romances, it was still more common for couples to be of different gender. Not to mention that there were means for people to change sex fully, even though it was too expensive that only royalty could afford it. She had always thought that her preferences were to those of a male gender, but now that she has gotten to know her she is no longer sure about it.
Why? Why did it have to be "that girl"? Even with the Prince she had never felt this way. How could SHE, Alicia Valvert, princess of a Galactic Empire fall in love with such a woman? Not only was she a commoner, but she was also the same woman that had taken away the man she had wished to marry.
Alicia sighed; it seemed that she had been doing that many times these past few days. Just as she planned to get up, the doors to her room was busted open.
"Milady Alicia! Just how long are you planning on staying in your room?!" Camilla, her head advisor and lead servant stormed into the room. "You've already locked yourself inside for several days!"
She walked over to the windows, throwing the curtains wide open and admitting the strong sunlight. The tall woman looked on without any remorse as her mistress screamed in agony from having her eyes burned by the sudden glare.
"Don't just enter someone's room and do that!" Alicia gave her a dirty glance once she had recovered, sitting up on her bed and hugging her pillow.
"Milady, have you forgotten the reason we came to this world?" Camilla's expression turned to that of concern as she looked at the disheveled state of her mistress. "If you were to lose to that sort of fake woman…"
"You would be made a laughing stock amongst the nobles."
That's right. The main reason why Titania had pushed for her engagement with Emilio was to protect the dignity of their nobles. At the time she had only thought that as the inheritors to two of the strongest kingdoms in the galactic empires, they deserved to be together. She could never bear the shame of "losing" him to other minor kingdoms, so she fought for him with great ardor. Whether they might develop feelings for each other was never taken into consideration.
"It's true…but…" Alicia looked down, watching her bedding but not really seeing it as she tried to figure out her own thoughts on the matter.
Her mistress was acting quite strangely, Camilla noted. Ever since they returned from her humiliating defeat at the pool she hasn't been the same. As her adviser she was quite worried. She also couldn't help but wonder what had happened during Alicia's lone meeting with her opponent afterwards, despite being ordered not to pry into it.
Also, Alicia's obsession with Saotome seemed to have reached new heights. If the rumors were to be believed, her mistress recently gave an order to their intelligence department to give her every single photograph of her that they were able to procure.
"Milady, maybe we have been concentrating too much on Saotome lately…" Camilla said as she observed Alicia getting up from the bed. If the defeat was able to put her in that state for this many days, maybe it would be better if they took a break from it all. However, before she could voice her suggestion, her Princess's reaction bewildered her.
"M-me? Obsess?! W-what are you talking about?" Alicia stuttered, backing away from her assistant and stopping near a wall that was covered with a heavy curtain.
Curiously, Camilla never recalled that side of the room being decorated in such a way a few days before.
"I am not obsessed with R-Ranma!" Alicia denied, slamming her hand on the wall behind her. Her arm caught the heavy cloth as it swung down, dragging it along and eventually tearing it out of its tracks. She finally noticed what her action had done and could only look in horror as the curtain came down, revealing what was hidden behind it.
Camilla watched in shock as various portraits were exposed to her sight. They filled up the entire side of the room and all contained the same person: Ranma. The pictures depicted her at various stages of her day. Though from the angle they were taken it can be assumed that they were done without her knowing. There were pictures of her during a workout, a few of her wearing the school uniform, and even some from their competition where she wore her swimming suit. In the corner Camilla could even see that her princess had somehow managed to obtain a few photographs of Ranma's male form, which she had to admit was quite handsome.
"Milady, you…" She began to say, trying to find the words to express her surprise.
"Ah! How did these pictures get here?! Who put them all up?!" Alicia feigned shock as she took the portraits down, putting them into a stack and sliding them underneath her bed.
It was a useless gesture. Having grown up alongside her, Camilla knew her better that anyone else and could often see through her lies. Alicia sighed as she pushed the last of the frames into their hiding place.
"I know, she's…the one who stole away the Prince's…" She trailed away as she recalled what started all of this, but whispered the last word softly as her thoughts began to turn in other directions. "…heart?"
A light bulb seemed to light on top of her head as an idea began to take form in her mind.
"That's it! Since Ranma stole away the Prince's heart then I'll just simply steal her own away!" Alicia stood up suddenly; glee filled her face as she thought of the perfect plan that could hide her growing attraction for the girl and still appear like she was trying to break them apart.
Before her, Camilla could only stare dumbly at her sudden exclamation.
"It's simple. Being a former man, it would be easy for her to fall for my charms! After she falls in love with me, I could make her break her engagement with the Prince." She elaborated. "When that is done, I will simply dump her and catch Emilio on the rebound! Leaving her heartbroken, and alone!"
"Hah…?" Her assistant looked at her with a face that said she wasn't buying her excuse.
"It doesn't mean I like her or anything! It's to get revenge on her!"
It was rare to see Alicia, the princess of an Empire that spanned various worlds in such a flustered state. Camilla hid a smile as she played along and turned around, pulling out a handset from her pocket.
"Very well, then first we'll have to bring her here." She pushed a few buttons on the thin phone and prepared to speak into it.
"No, wait! Doing it like this would only make her hate me…" She paused as her mind caught up with what she was saying. "Ahem! I mean, this time we'll have to use less forceful means."
"Then what do you propose?" Camilla canceled the call, turning back to her mistress.
"I've already thought of a plan." Alicia coughed into her palm. She picked up one of the thick books that was strewn all over the floor and showed it to her.
"What's this?"
"Apparently it's one of the most popular love guides in this world." In her hand she held one of those Shoujo magazines that released a new issue every week. The cover depicted a couple smiling happily at the camera, while titles such as "Love Esper", "How to catch your man" were written across it. On the ground a variety of other books could be seen, some of them containing words such as "Yuri", and "BL".
"Milady, is this the reason why you've locked yourself inside your room all this time? Because you've been reading this type of books?" Camilla deadpanned, a large drop of sweat hung at the side of her head.
"T-that's none of your business!" She retorted.
"Well then, what do you have planned?" Her adviser looked at her curiously.
"According to this, commoners around my age usually start their day hurrying to school with bread in their mouth." Alicia turned serious as she flipped through one of the manga magazines. Camilla walked closer to her as she pointed out the page she was referencing. "This is when they bump into their potential love interest."
"But wait, don't they begin fighting because of this?" The taller woman pointed at the next few scenes in the book.
"Ah, but that's where the genius of this lies," the princess said. She quickly walked her closest confidant through the scenarios, immersing her in the convoluted story of chance encounters, love triangles and misunderstandings. Their foray into the world of shoujo manga took the majority of their day and the next few passed quickly as they planned their method of attack.
"According to our reports, this is the route that Ranma takes to get to school every day." Camilla double checked the file in her hands, making sure that they were at the location where their strategists said was ideal for their confrontation. Her princess stood in front of her, wearing the Heimei High uniform while biting a piece of toast.
"Come to think of it, isn't this a bit too plain?" Alicia said, taking the bread out of her mouth. "Isn't there something a bit more…elegant?"
"How about a piece of baguette? I hear that the French are known for being sophisticated." Her assistant suggested.
"That's a great idea! However, I think it is beneath me to merely imitate the commoners…"
"Ah, then we can add a plate of soup!"
They grew eager with their discussion until the last-minute modifications to the plans made it completely unrecognizable from its original form. Alicia now wore a ballroom gown complete with high heels and matching jewelry. She had the French baguette stuffed in her mouth while she held an expensive looking plate in her hand with some freshly made soup.
Their preparations seemed to have finished just in time because Camilla suddenly stilled as she received a confirmation that the target was en-route. "Milady, the forward team has just spotted Ranma. She should be here any minute now."
Soon after, they heard Ranma calling out for someone. Thinking that she had arrived, Alicia immediately rushed out from the corner of the street, only to trip over a much smaller figure. The steaming soup spilled over the other person, who let out a feminine cry of pain.
As Alicia lifted herself from the ground, she looked down to see hair with a familiar shade of red. However the person was too small to be Ranma, unless she had shrunk in the past few days. Standing up, she observed the unconscious form of the child she had ran over. She was a cute little girl with twin buns on her head, her face reminded the princess greatly of Ranma and she had no doubt that the boy-turned-girl would have looked similar if she were at that age.
The impact with her body must have knocked the child out cold, Alicia decided. However further inspection was interrupted as the voice of Ranma appeared to be coming closer.
"Akkarin~~ Slow down a little bit~" Alicia immediately panicked. She recalled from the reports that Ranma had a little sister called Akari. If the girl was to stumble upon this scene she would surely assume the worst.
"Camilla! Take us out of here immediately!" Without knowing it, she performed one of the Saotome secret techniques as a limousine was summoned and carried the three of them away.
Moments after the dust clouds settled, Ranma and the Prince arrived on the scene.
"Geez, she couldn't have gone too far in such a short time…" Ranma said, looking around until she noticed something on the ground. "This…this is Akari's bag! Don't tell me she's been…"
Kidnappings were rare, but she never would have thought it would happen to her sister. Her mind began constructing scenarios about what could be happening to the cute little girl. Each thought became worse until she was nearly panicking. She picked up the bag and began running in search of her. However Emilio suddenly grabbed her before she could get too far.
"Hold on, Ranma. It's not wise to rush into this blindly. Let's examine the area and see if there are any clues." The Prince reminded her. Ranma forced herself to calm down by taking a few deep breaths then began examining the scene of the crime.
There were a set of tire tracks leading away from the place, suggesting that the perpetrators left on a vehicle. Near where they found the bag some something had been spilled, and when they followed the track of the liquid…
"…an expensive looking plate, a broken piece of baguette, and a high-heeled shoe?!" A certain person immediately came to mind. Ranma's hand tightened on the strap of her little sister's bag as she made the connection. "I think I know who our kidnapper is…"
"Yeah, me too…" Emilio agreed, sighing. He rubbed his temples with his hand to alleviate the beginnings of a headache.
At this hour in the morning, people began to busy themselves with heading to work on time in the business district. However, in the main headquarters of the Titania Corporation, such thoughts were the last things on their minds. In front of a large set of doors, the president of the company, Alicia Valvert, was currently trying not to pull her hair out over the disastrous error of judgment she had committed. The result of that was currently inside the room behind her, crying her eyes out.
"Oh no! What am I going to do now! Ranma will surely hate me when she finds out!" Alicia berated herself, coming close to tears. In her panic at being caught red handed, she ran away instead and kidnapped the girl by accident.
"Milady, please calm down," Camilla grabbed her in the shoulder and tried to make her princess listen to her. "Instead of panicking, we should begin to think about how to resolve the situation we are in."
At her mistress's questioning gaze, Camilla pointed at the small girl that was in their custody, making a good impression of a fountain. "Ranma and the Prince are sure to be in our trail by now, it would make matters worse if they found the girl in the current state she's in."
"You-you're right, I guess we should do something about that…" Alicia answered, trying to get herself together. "Well, there is no use delaying the inevitable then."
Tightening her hands, she walked briskly towards the young girl currently bawling in the room.
"H-hello, little girl..." Alicia started hesitantly. "Could we speak for a moment?"
She was ignored as the girl kept crying, unable to think of anything else to do since the situation was too much for her to handle.
From Akari's perspective, she had only heard of Alicia from the accounts of her sister Ranma, however she was easily identified despite the girl not having met her before due to her alien origins. In Akari's mind she had made her out to be this giant monster out to get her sister for being with Emilio. Surely this horrifying woman will turn big and eat her, she thought.
"Hey! Girl! Listen to me!" Unused to people not paying attention to her, Alicia's temper soon got the best of her and she started shouting. However this only had the opposite effect and the young girl before her only cried louder as she became more scared.
Alicia was close to panicking now, the news her aide brought in didn't help matters any.
"Milady, we have some urgent news from the sentinels. They estimate that the Prince and company will arrive in a few minutes." Camilla said. Despite her calm exterior, her eyes showed signs of alarm as the situation was quickly getting out of their control.
"Oh no! What should I do!?" Alicia exclaimed. As an only child she had no experience calming younger children down. It wasn't helped by the fact that she was used to interacting with others in a haughty manner. Being the princess of a powerful kingdom nobody dared disobey her.
As the clock ticked down, and with no solution in sight, all she could do was to join the young girl and cry.
It was rush hour, people hurried to reach their posts and begin their day, students dragged their feet as they headed to school. Average people went about with their mundane routines, however none of that mattered to Ranma as she stomped towards Titania Corporation's main business building, Emilio trailing behind her. Despite the crowd of workers walking through the streets, she remained undeterred on her path to the receptionist's desk as they quickly parted upon seeing the look on her face.
"WHERE IS SHE!?" The receptionist was at a loss for words as Ranma ran straight up to the desk and slammed her hands on it, demanding to know where her sister is. Of course, she had no idea what the girl was talking about as she had not received prior notice from her superiors. Seeing this, Emilio stepped up to clarify.
"We're here to see Alicia." He said calmly.
The young receptionist was about to decline politely, as normally one couldn't just walk in and ask for a meeting with their president without making an appointment. However she was stopped by someone placing their hand on her shoulder.
"I'll take them from here." The girl turned around and saw the president's personal secretary, Camilla.
"Madam Secretary..."
After placating all parties at the desk, Camilla urged them to follow her and they left the lobby without causing further commotion. The elevator ride to the top was quiet, but Ranma was still silently fuming. Soon the brief moment of peace was ended as they arrived and the doors opened. Guards hastily cleared the way for Ranma as she stormed straight into Alicia's office.
"ALICIA! WHERE DID YOU Take..." Ranma suddenly ran out of steam as she noticed Alicia calmly having tea on a side table, and across from her was Akari, the sister she's been searching for.
Ranma's younger sister did not seem to be distress at being kidnapped, nor did she seem to have been mistreated. In fact the girl was having tea with Alicia and eating some biscuits.
She approached the table cautiously, seeing that the situation has changed and she needed more information before deciding how to act.
"Alright, what's going on here?"
Though she may have looked calm, Alicia was still sweating nervously. They may have avoided the worst outcome, but they still haven't figured out a suitable excuse for what had happened.
"W-well..." As she began to try and explain, help came from an unexpected source.
"Miss Alicia simply wanted to make friends." To everyone's surprise, it was Akari who said that.
"What?"
"It's Miss Alicia's first time on Earth, right? She wanted to be friends with Big Sister Ranma, but she didn't know what to do. So she asked me for help!"
Back before Ranma and Emilio arrived at the building, Akari was still crying as she stared at an approaching Alicia, worried that she was going to be eaten. However, upon noticing that the princess ended up in tears as well, she calmed down somewhat, and her curiosity led her to find out what was going on.
Alicia had started to explain as she tried to stop crying, but Akari seemed to have taken her own conclusions from what she had managed to hear. Once both of them calmed down, Alicia's attendants hurried to make them more presentable and led them to sit at the table. With the snap of a finger, it was soon filled with pastries and drinks.
Ranma rubbed her temples as she tried to make sense of what her sister was saying.
"So, Alicia kidnapped my sister because she wanted to be friends with me...?"
"How does that even make sense!?"
"W-well...it does sound ridiculous if you put it that way..." Alicia answered nervously, looking at the ground.
Ranma sighed. Most of her anger had already evaporated upon seeing that Akari was fine, and seeing the state that the princess was in right now she simply didn't have the heart to pursue the matter further. Besides, said sister was now looking at her expectantly. The young girl simply thought the best of everyone and thought that people should always be friendly.
"Fine...I'll let it go this time..." Ranma said. She wanted to say something more menacing to prevent this from happening again, but under the gaze of her sister she just couldn't muster the emotion to do it. She sighed again as she moved to pick up the little girl.
"Next time, just send me an invitation or something." She said as she moved towards the exit, her sister in her arms. She paused as they were about to leave.
"Just don't ask me to have tea or some other girly stuff..."
After the two girls left, Emilio, who had remained silent until now, turned to Alicia.
"Just what are you planning..." He said, staring at the girl still sitting at the table, his expression unreadable.
"Moi? Nothing. As I told little Miss Akari, I wish to befriend Miss Ranma." Alicia said haughtily. She picked up a cup from the table and took a sip of tea. Emilio looked at her for a few more seconds, trying to read something from her movements.
Ranma's voice floated in from outside the room, calling for Emilio since they were leaving. The prince called back in response and took one last glace at the stoic princess before leaving.
"I'll be watching you." He said as he walked out the door.
The guards closed the door behind him. Alicia continued sipping the tea until the cup was empty, and sighed in relief after she received confirmation that the trio had left the premises. Her shoulders sagged as the tension left her and she leaned back into the seat in relaxation.
"Milady." Alicia immediately sat up as she was reminded that she was not alone in the room. Camilla walked in front of the table as a servant refilled Alicia's cup. With a look she understood what her Princess wished to convey and she motioned for the aides to leave.
After the room was cleared and the doors closed, Alicia visibly relaxed once more. Camilla however remained standing.
"It seems that we managed to avoid the worst outcome..." She began to say but was interrupted by her princess.
"Did you hear? She said that we should make an invitation for her next time!" Alicia exclaimed.
"Erm, that's not exactly what she meant..." Her words fell on deaf ears as her Princess appeared to be in her own world. However she pressed on as there was another matter that they have delayed until now.
"Milady, there was a message from the Homeland this morning, they're urging you to return..."
"Who cares! They can't order me around!"
Camilla sighed as she watched her Princess move around, making plans for when she invited Ranma. The urgent message was dismissed just like that. Though the current crisis was averted, the young woman knew that things were going to become a lot more complicated.
"Camilla! Don't just stand there! Help make the plans!"
Despite the thought of the troubles soon to come, she managed to smile at the antics of her Princess. Whatever happened, she would be at her Princess's side the entire way.
A/N: I know it's been a long time. But a lot has happened.
To tell the truth I had most of this chapter finished already. As the people from Fukufics might remember I had posted it there some time ago.
At the time I started this chapter I was soon approaching where I stopped the previous version. I had written out some guidelines for what I wanted to do but I was running out of ideas as I didn't want to stick too close to the original one. The thought weighed heavily on my mind until the creativity juice simply ran out I suppose.
There were multiple times I tried to continue it, including the time I posted this unfinished script on Fukufics. Though I still didn't manage to get the sense of the writing back because of the long break.
Somehow I managed to storm through the writer's block this time after forcing myself to write the scene. Hopefully I'll have more to show in the future. The writing might not be as polished as it was because of the long drought, though I believe I can regain the sense of writing as I continue.
I had actually written a small draft last year to try and break out of the block. It was a cross between Ranma and Shounen Maid. However I lost it when my hard drive failed and I was between periods of regular backup.
That fic was a bit dark because of my mental state at the time...I'll see what I can remember it from my mind. Though it probably won't be written the same way since I can't get into that same state of mind.
To the people that are following this fic I hope you enjoy this chapter.
I hope I'll have more to show in the future.
