Dean manages to hail a cab as the silence between them lengthens. At first glance it would look as if Jade is just shy but Dean knows better. She's probably just thinking about everything... She'll figure out a way for the two of them to keep going forward without any more confrontation. Yeah. That's what she's doing. But they way she's nibbling on her lip tells Dean otherwise... Dean sighs as he opens up the cab door for Jade. With a quiet 'thanks' he shuts the door and jogs around to climb in on the other side. Jade watches him as he slides in next to her. He notices her watching him and smiles a little in her direction. Jade smiles and turns her gaze out the window. The cab driver chuckles roughly.
"How long have you two been together?" He asks innocently but Dean stiffens visibly. The cab driver doesn't notice. Jade grips his wrist to calm him down. She smiles into the rear view mirror before responding.
"We've only been together for a few months." Jade says as she turns to Ambrose. His eyes tell her that she's crazy and that they are going to get caught lying but his mouth speaks first.
"She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen." Dean says as ha laces his fingers with Jade's. She leans her head on his shoulder as she gently squeezes his hand. Dean rests his cheek on her head as he takes in her scent. The smell of Olay soap with lavender messes up his senses as he begins to drown himself in it. The fact that she wanted to lie about them being in a relationship meant something... Right? No. It must just be the fact that she just doesn't want to fight and argue with everyone in the world. Oh God... If Rollins and Reigns could see him now! They'd tell him things that would most likely get his hopes up only to have them crushed by the fact that she doesn't feel the same. He winces and Jade turns her face upward to look at him. Worry swims in her brown eyes and Dean's tongue goes dry. He hated seeing that look in her eyes... The one that despite what was happening to her, she always worried about other people. How could Stephanie want to hurt someone so innocent? What had she done to piss off the boss's daughter? Are they punishing her more then Dean knows about? Without his notice, a deep frown forms on his face. The cab pulls to a stop outside of a fancy steak house named Grizzly's.
"That'll be $150 please." Dean hands him the money before he jumps out and grabs their bags. He then opens Jade's door for her as she argues with the cab driver about the cost. He reluctantly gives her back $57 dollars that he was over paid. Shaking her head, she shoves the money in her pocket before climbing out. She slams the door and Dean gives her a puzzled look. She glares as the cab pulls away until Dean taps her on the shoulder. She takes the money out of her pocket and gives it back to Dean. With a simple laugh, he takes out his wallet and puts the money away. He slings his bag over his shoulder and offers Jade his hand. Without hesitation, Jade entwines their hands again. She smiles at the happy glow that seems to have taken over Dean. She looks at the floor with a sad smile.
"If only this was real..."The tears threaten to choke her up as Dean talks to the hostess. She gives Dean a once over that he ignores before she leads them to a secluded table in the back corner. Dean allows Jade to slide in first before he sits across from her. Jade glances at the menu given to her before quickly deciding on chicken quesadillas.
"What did you decide on babe?" Dean cheeks begin to turn a slight red as Jade tries not to look shocked.
"Well, babe, I've decided on quesadillas. Why? What are you thinking of getting?" Jade laughs a little as Dean says,
"I'm going to regret letting that slip aren't I?" The two of them share a laugh before Jade leans forward,
"You know, if you keep calling me those cute little nick names, I might have to start playing dirty..." Dean leans forwards as if accepting a challenge. He gives that infamous smirk as he says,
"Oh yeah? And how are you going to do about that Princess?" He laughs but lets out a slight squeak as Jade slowly reaches under the small table and runs her hand up the inside of his leg. Dean jerks his leg up, kneeing the bottom of the table and spilling some of the water in his glass. Dean turns a surprised gaze on Jade who simply tries to look worried.
"Are you okay?" The female waitress asks as she comes back, having watched only the part where Dean jerked his leg up. Dean smiles a little while staring at Jade.
"I'm fine thanks. It was a muscle spasm."
"What can I get you two to drink?"
"A mountain dew please with half of the normal amount of ice." Jade and Dean answer at the same time. Jade quirks an eyebrow with a smile while Dean rolls his eyes.
"And are you ready to order your food then as well or no?"
"I'll take a twelve ounce steak, French fries and a baked potato."
"I'll take the chicken quesadillas with fries as well with a side of coleslaw." The waitress nods before taking the menus and heading off to hand in their order. As she walks away, Ambrose hisses at Jade.
"You almost got caught groping me in public." He smirks as Jade blushes.
"Sh-shut up Ambrose! Don't word it like that."
"Oh? Then how should I word it Jade?" Dean teases, sticking out his tongue.
"Uh... I don't know. Just don't call it that?" An amused smile plays across his face as Ambrose stands up and slides in next to her. Jade sputters in shock and squeaks when Ambrose's hand settles on her knee. He picks up his water glass and sips from it as he slowly moves his hand upwards. Jade stiffens visibly next to him but Dean ignores it. He whispers in her ear,
"If you get nervous, just say Uncle." Dean says, gently nipping her ear lobe with his teeth. Jade sucks in a breathe before she forces herself to calm down. She turns her head to whisper in his ear as she says,
"What if I don't want you to stop?" Jade kisses Dean's cheek as he sucks in a sharp breath. Slowly his hand trails up the inside of her leg. Out of instinct, Jade spreads her legs a little wider. Dean chuckles but pulls his hand away. He moves back to his own seat quickly before the waitress comes back with their order. Dean looks up and smiles at the waitress,
"Thank you." She inclines her head to him as Jade offers small thanks as well while trying to regain her composer. As the two dig into their meal, they chat quietly between themselves. Eventually, a few hours pass and Dean glances down at the table as his phone begins to vibrate. He whistles out low,
"We've been here for three hours already?" Dean mumbles before he picks up his phone and answers the call.
"Hello?"
"Hey Ro."
"No, we got some dinner and lost track of time talking."
"What do you mean I never do that? I do it with you guys all the time."
"Uh-Huh... No, I'm not going to fuck her." At those words Dean blushes a bright red. He mouths the words sorry towards Jade.
"Yeah, we'll see you in a few." As he hangs up the phone, Jade pouts at him.
"I'm not getting laid? Sad face..." Dean laughs again before he winks at her.
"That can be arranged." Jade smiles but shakes her head.
"Never give it up on your first date." She sips from her soda glass as Dean scratches at the scruff called his beard.
"You've never been on a real date before?" Jade shakes her head slightly.
"Why?" She shrugs at his question.
"Dating was never something that caught my attention. Also, where I come from you have a limited selection. So I opted out refused to date them. I only liked one guy and he was taken." She finishes off her soda before looking back at Ambrose.
"What did Romeo need?" Dean smirks at her nick name for Roman.
"He wanted to know where we were at? He must have talked to Rollins and figured out that were not back yet."
"Imagine all the things they're talking about right now... All the different scenarios playing out in their heads. We got jumped, or we got drunk, or possibly even had a one night stand at a fancy hotel! We better get back before they get to crazy..." Ambrose laughs.
"A one night stand at a fancy hotel?"
"A grungy hotel is to common." Jade winks at him as she shrugs on her coat. Dean throws money down on the table before grabbing his bag. The two of them head out of the restraunt and begin to walk the few blocks to their hotel. Dean's hand itches to hold Jade's again...
"Can I... Can I hold your hand again?" Dean asks quietly. Jade blushes a little but nods her head. Dean smiles with relief as he grabs her hand for the third or fourth time that night. As they walk, they chat quietly about their childhood. Jade frowns a little.
"I never like this topic... I know I've had a better life than most. My parents weren't rich by any means but we always had food on the table, clothes on our backs, a roof over our heads, running water, and beds to sleep in..." Jade's brow furrow as they stop at a cross walk. She turns and dean cups the back of her head before kissing her brow.
"Don't frown like that. I'm not touchy about my past. I'm a street rat. I didn't alwayd have the things you did and I had to work way harder than most but hey, I made it. And I think I turned out okay." Dean grins at Jade as she laughs.
"You're not to bad looking either."
"Are you hitting on me?"
"Uh..." Jade turns her gaze to the ground. "I don't know? I've never really hit on anyone before... I just try to tell people like I see it." Dean squeezes her hand. This girl is stealing his heart...
"I respect that. You're much nicer than me..."
"So... If you had to describe me?" Dean smiles slightly down at her.
"I meant what I said in the cab ride Jade. Everyword." Jade glances at the ground again as they keep walking. As they near the hotel, Dean curses.
"Should we stop holding hands?"
"Do you want to?"
"No..."
"Me either..."
"I can't wait to see their faces." Dean muses. Jade covers her mouth with her hand as she chuckles.
"You're horrible Dean." He laughs.
"Told ya' so babe. But you know you're curious too..." They both laugh as they walk the last block. People snap pictures but they ignore them and they continue to swap stories of things past.
