Chapter 2 – Shopping is Torturing, Hayate

A/N: I am eating fried chicken for lunch!
"Ne, o-kaa-san… I don't really think this pink-coloured dress suits me very well."
'Not to mention, I have a distinctive feeling of being a strawberry-flavoured ice cream sundae in the making right about now…'
"Eh? But you look utterly adorable in that type of clothing, Hayate-chan~" Misaki coos at his newly-acquired daughter with a dreamy expression on her face.
Hayate gives the older woman an exasperated look before protesting lightly inside her head. 'And I am not cute!'
"Listen to your o-kaa-san, my dear beloved daughter. She knows what best for you. O-tou-san supports your decision in wanting to become more feminine!"
'That is not it! Since when did I ever say I want to become more feminine-like? I just want to wear normal children clothing, damn it!'
"Mou, now I don't know which one to choose." Misaki mutter her thoughts out-loud while holding up two different dresses. "Is the yellow sundress with orange-floral patterns and the matching sunflower-shaped pouch suits you? Or do you want to wear this baby-blue sundress with a matching rabbit hat as an addition?"
Hayate feels as if her soul is being seeped out from her physical form when both of her foster parents seem to ignore her plea in wanting to wear normal clothes.
'Why~?'
"Hayate-chan~ How about I make you an offer? Choose a few adorable dresses for you to buy and wear during our family outing and I'll let you buy the other few of your own free-will choosing."
That seems to work based on the little girl's mind. She quickly regains her composure before vehemently dragging both of her parents to buy her more clothes in the store even if they're fluffy-looking dresses.
"Then, what're we waiting for? Bring out the eyesore— I mean dresses and clothes!"
"Maa, maa… Now that's the spirit, Hayate-chan~"
"Err, Hayate-chan. Can you let go of o-tou-san's hand? We're in the woman's underwear department…"
"Don't care. Just follow."
"How cruel~"

A/N: How lovely~ More reviewers, followers, and favourites! I'm sorry for the late update though. I've been busy immersing myself with a few pessimistic thoughts and whatnot. Nevertheless, I really hope you guys understand the humour on the last part of the chapter.
Just remember those awkward times for a guy to be dragged against his will towards you-know-what section of a clothing store. In my case, it was one of my younger brothers. I pity my bro and bought him a pair of sports shoes as a compensation of sort. He has been keeping a specifically long distance from me every time we go to any clothing store ever since. Sweet memory indeed~
