EDIT: IF YOU FIND ANYTHING LIKE ~ THIS ~ , THAT MEANS THAT I FORGOT TO EDIT THAT PART. ALL IT IS IS A THOUGHT. NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS. CARRY ON.

"Oh, the gods hate me. Some people lose their knife or their mug. No, not me. I manage to lose an entire DRAGON?! " Seriously, how did I lose something that big?

I decide to walk around for a little bit. I go to move a tree branch and get whacked in the head. "Damn it!" I look up and see that something had fallen through here, something big. " Ohh, I forgot to carry the one, my bad"

I follow down the broken tree path, almost impaling myself on several broken branches. Once I reach the end I spot something pitch black. I run behind a boulder for a second before seeing that it is not moving. I get a closer look and see that it is a dragon, but not a dragon that I have ever seen before. It has two large wings, no horns but fin-like things, a tail, and is all black. This must be the Night Fury! "Oh, wow. I did it. Oh, I did it! This fixes everything! Yes! I have brought down this mighty beast!"

In saying this, I place my foot on the side of the beast, trying to strike a pose. Perfect.

Suddenly the dragon lets out a roar, shoving me off. This lets me know instantly that I shouldn't have tried for the pose. Bad idea. So it is still alive, damn my luck. "Whoa, shit!"

I slowly take out my knife, knowing what must be done. "I'm going to kill you, dragon. I'm gonna cut out your heart and take it to my father. I'm a Viking. I am a VIKING!"

I look into the Night Fury's eyes and am shocked by what I see. I don't see someone that would kill an innocent without mercy, I don't even see the dragon that would kill a soldier. All I see is fear in those eyes, fear of the situation and fear of me. No one has ever feared me before. And I don't like the feeling.

The Night Fury just looks at me for a second before closing its eyes and laying down, just letting the inevitable to happen. I just stare at the creature waiting for me to kill it. After looking for a second, it feels like something hits me in the chest. I drop my knife to the ground and fall to my knees. "I did this," I say with a defeated tone.

I can't do it. I can't kill it. I stare for a second before coming to a decision. I grab my knife and start cutting the rope as fast a possible. After a few of the ropes are cut, I hear a loud snap a several of the remaining rope is ripped away.

Suddenly, I am pinned to the ground by the Night Fury, who has their paw on my chest. I look up into the furious acid green eyes, those are the eyes of a killer. I know there is nothing that I can do so I just close my eyes and turn away, waiting for the inevitable.

After a few seconds, I hear a deafening roar then the pressure is gone. I look up in time to see the dragon flying through the trees. Suddenly my head gets really light. Why is everything going dark? Oh look, here comes the ground.

I wake up to it being almost dark outside. I quickly run back to the palace, don't want Dad to see the guards out for me again.

I see the castle come into view. It's not a grand castle, the tallest tower is only about five floors up. But it has all the things a castle needs, a grand hall, an armory, several bedrooms, a kitchen, staff quarters, and an enclosed area with open skies.

When I make it inside, I make a mad dash towards my room, but along the way, I spot my Dad working his way in the same direction. I try to make my way around but I accidentally bump a table and get his attention. I try to make a run for it but he calls out my name.

"Hiccup." Is it just me or is he happy to see me?

Crap, no way out of this. I might as well tell him about me not being all Viking. "Dad! Uh... I have to talk to you, Dad."

He motions for me to follow him. We make our way over to the armory. Why are we here? Never mind.

"I need to speak with you too, son." Oh well, that helps, I think.

For some reason, we both decide to talk at the same time. "I've decided I don't want / I think it's time you learn / to fight dragons. What?"

"You go first." He motions for me to continue.

"No, no, you go first, you're the king after all."

He gets a happy tone and straitens up a little. "Alright. You get your wish. Dragon Training. You start in the morning."

Oh shit, bad idea. "Oh, man, I should've gone first! Uh, 'cause I was thinking, you know, we have a surplus of dragon-fighting Vikings, but do we have enough... bread-making Vikings, or small home repair Vikings-?"

Without listening, he says," You'll need this." as he passes me an ax, that explains why we are here.

I almost fall over from the ax, as I straighten up, I try to get his attention again. "I don't want to fight dragons."

He just waves it off. "Come on. Yes, you do. You're the prince and future heir after all."

"Rephrase Dad, I can't kill dragons. And if you want an heir to kill dragons, have Cami do it.

He gets in my face with an excited look. "Camicazi took the life of a priestess, so she can neither be the heir since she can't give young, or kill dragons. But you will kill dragons."

"No, I'm really very extra sure that I won't." This is getting me nowhere, but I can't exactly tell him that I let a Night Fury get away.

"It's time, Hiccup." He says this with a tone of finality. Good this that I tend to do the stupid thing like talking back to the king.

"Can you not hear me?!"

Dad decides apparently that he has had enough and starts to raise his voice. "This is serious, son! When you carry this as you carry all of us with you. Which means you walk like us. You talk like us. You think like us. No more of... this."

"You just gestured to all of me." I think that I have the right to be offended.

"Deal?"

"This conversation is feeling very one-sided."

"DEAL?!"

"Deal."

"Good. Dragon training starts in five days. Train hard. I'll be back. Probably."

"And I'll be here. Maybe." Maybe not.

AFTER THE CRASH

I can't move anything. Everything is sore. did I hit every tree on the way down?

"Oh, wow. I did it." Who the fuck is that? Oh no, please let it not be a human. Ok, I will just play dead.

"Oh, I did it! This fixes everything! Yes! I have brought down this mighty beast" I feel something on my side poking into me. Did he just step on me? Oh hell no.

'GET THE FUCK OFF OF ME!' I open my eyes to see that it is, in fact, a human. And a skinny one at that, he must not be eating well at all, he is probably a peasant.

"Whoa, shit!" At that, he falls over on his ass. Serves you right you peasant.

He pulls out a small blade. I give him a small growl to let him know how stupid he is. Oh, wait, I'm still tied up, damn it. "I'm going to kill you, dragon. I'm gonna cut out your heart and take it to my father. I'm a Viking. I am a VIKING!"

I look into his eyes and see someone who feels like they have to do this. I know there is no way to stop him so I am going to just relax so that I can at least be comfortable when I die.

I hear something fall to the ground but I won't be bothered by that at death. "I did this," If I didn't know any better, I would say that he just said that with a defeated tone.

I suddenly hear something being cut that isn't my chest cavity. I finally open my eyes to see the skinny human male is cutting the ropes. I don't waste any time and the second the rope is loose enough, I fling the rest aside and pounce onto the small human, placing my foot on his chest to hold him down.

I look into his eyes so that he can see that he caused this. But when I look into those green eyes, I no longer see the human who wanted to kill me, I see that he has accepted that he deserves this. He turns his head away and closes his eyes waiting for the inevitable, just like I did. I can't do it. I can not kill the only one to ever spare me the pain. I decided to just tell him off.'DON'T MESS WITH ME AGAIN!'

After that, I jump to the sky to take off back. Umm, why am I falling? Mayday, Mayday, MAYDAY!

"Sorry that this is shorter" was all that Sayan Eighteen said. I say that it is ok that it is short. Anyone want to give advice is welcome, we will try to respond, just remember that we can not use every idea without diverging too far from the story. Thank you and goodnight(Morning?)
