"Umiko was born on a small island. Her twin brother and her were left orphaned before they could even think. Their father left before they were born and their mother died in childbirth. So they were left in their aunt's care." Taikim started to talk.

"Kaito! Kaito!" Umi looked around as she ran. She was a small six year old, energetic child. The villagers watched as she ran around. "Kaito!" The villagers laughed as she called out. Umi slid to a stop and looked over. "THERE!" She pointed to a barrel. "I found you!" She rushed over and poked the barrel. "Kaito!"

A small boy, who looked very similar to Umi only with black hair, poked her head up. "How'd you find me?"

"I saw your hair." She ruffled his hair. "It was sticking out with the apples. If only you had red hair like me, then maybe you wouldn't have stuck out so much!"

"Haha." Kaito laughed. "Alright, I guess I'm up."

"I'm going to go hide!" Umi waved her hand and started running.

"Kaito! Umiko!" The twins stopped and looked over to see a woman with pale skin, long black hair, and pink eyes looking at them.

"Aunt Sakura!" The two rushed forward and wrapped their little arms around their aunt's waist.

"Have you two been having fun now?" Sakura ruffled their hair.

"We've been playing hide and seek! I'm winning!" Umi grinned. "I found Kaito in two minutes! It took him eight minutes to find me!"

"You just have really good hiding spots!" Kaito frowned. "But I'll win eventually!"

"No way! I have really good eyes! Right Auntie!"

"Yes my dear. Now come on, let's go home and have some lunch!" She rubbed the two of their heads. "I'll make whatever you want for."

"Okay!" The twins grinned. The three of them started walking towards their home. It was a small little house in the middle of the village. There was three rooms; a bathroom, a bedroom, and a kitchen. "Let's have noodles!" Umi tugged on her aunt's sleeve. "No let's have fish!"

"I want chicken!" Kaito tugged on his aunt's other sleeve. "Lots of chicken!"

"Fish!" Umi stuck her tongue out at her brother. "I won so I get to decide!"

"That's no fair!" Kaito glared.

"Why don't we compromise and have both?" Sakura laughed.

"OKAY!" The twins said together. Sakura opened their house door.

"PIRATES!" Sakura froze and turned around. "PIRATES ARE COMING!" A man with dark green spiked hair and an eye patch came running up. His body was covered in scars. "Pirates are coming!" He collapsed and was gasping for breath.

"Did you see what kind of pirates?!"

"No, but they didn't look familiar!" He was gasping for breath. "We have to get away! They are going to kill us!"

"Auntie…" Umi tugged on her aunt's sleeve. "What's wrong?"

"Umiko…. Kaito… Run to the other end of the town." Sakura pointed. "Go now! Wait for me there!"

"Auntie…" Umi whispered.

"Go now!" Sakura said sternly. "GO!"

"Come on!" Kaito grabbed Umi's hand and started to run. "Come on Umi!" He started to drag Umi in the direction Sakura pointed. "We'll meet you there auntie!" The two twins started running, Umi looking back.

"But-." Umi whispered.

"COME ON!" Kaito yelled at her. The two ran as fast as they could towards the forest on the outskirts of the town. Once there the two crouched down among the bushes.

"Do you think Auntie will be okay?" Umi whispered and grabbed her brother's arm. "Pirates are bad aren't they?"

"Yeah." Kaito frowned. "Pirates are really bad. They kill innocent people and destroy villages."

"Oh no!" Umi whimpered. "Will everyone be okay?! Maybe we should go back and make sure!"

"Aunt Sakura told us to stay here." Kaito said calmly. "So we're going to stay here."

A few minutes later Sakura came rushing up. "Umi! Kaito!"

"Right here!" Umi popped up and rushed forward, hugging her aunt. "You're okay!"

"Yeah. I'm okay." Sakura smiled gently. "Now follow me. There's a boat for us to take to get out of here."

"But." Kaito frowned. "Why should we leave our home!? Can't we fight them!?"

"No. Only the marines can." Sakura started to lead the two kids along a path. "Pirates are too strong and dangerous for us to stand up to. We'll leave the village until the pirates are gone. Then we'll come home."

"Fine." Kaito frowned.

Umi stopped. "Did you hear that?!" Sakura and Kaito stopped. In the distance was the sound of screams and yelling. Umi looked back and spotted smoke. "The village!"

"Hurry!" Sakura grabbed the twin's hands and started running. It took them a few minutes but they finally arrived at a small cove where a small little fishing boat was sitting. It looked old and a little beat up. "Get on now!" Sakura waved to the boat and looked back towards the village. "Hurry!"

"Come on!" Kaito grabbed Umi's hand and dragged her towards the boat. He pushed her onto the boar and climbed on himself. "AUNT SAKURA!"

"I'm coming!" She pulled up the anchor and then climbed on.

"GET THEM!" A voice yelled.

"LOOK!" Umi pointed. A group of men with swords and knives stood on the beach. One of them was pointing towards the boat.

"KAITO STEER THE BOAT!" Sakura yelled as she pulled out a gun and shot at the men on the beach. Kaito started to direct the boat.

Umi looked over at her two family members and then at the path they were slowly taking to get out to sea. "KAITO THERE'S A BIG ROCK TO THE LEFT!"

"Thanks!" Kaito yelled as he directed the boat. The next few minutes were tense as the Umi directed Kaito on how to get out of the cove safely and Sakura shot at the pirates to keep them away. But finally they got out to sea.

Sakura took over for Kaito once they got out to sea and were away from the pirates. "Good job you two."

"Wow! Look at the water!" Umi called out. "It's so pretty!"

"You two rest. I'll get us to another island." Sakura looked at the kids. "Everything is going to be alright, I promise." Both kids rested back and watched the clouds.

Umi yawned. Somewhere along the way she had fallen asleep. She sat up and found her aunt still directing the boat. Kaito was curled up near his aunt, fast asleep. "Auntie where are we?"

"We're heading towards the next island. The Gecko Islands will take us another few days to get to. Please bear with it and promise me you won't complain about food."

"Okay." Umi nodded and looked out at the water. "It's so pretty… Hey Auntie... Are you tired? I can drive the boat for you."

"Umi, I'm okay."

"You need to sleep too." Umi reached out and smiled. "Let me."

"Alright." Sakura pointed into the distance. "Head that way, follow the sun."

"Okay." Umi took control and Sakura laid down. Umi directed the boat for a while before it began to get dark. Kaito woke up and took over for her. Umi sat down and watched the water, amazed at the colorful fish that swam nearby. Suddenly it started raining.

Sakura blinked and sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Umiko? Kaito?" She looked around and jumped up. "GET BELOW DECK!" She rushed and took over directing. "NOW!"

"Aunt Sakura?" Kaito asked.

"NOW!"

"Right." Kaito grabbed Umi's arm. "Come on!"

"But I don't want to! It smells like fish down there!" Umi whined. "I don't mind the rain." Her comment was followed by thunder.

"A storm!" Kaito gasped. "Come on!" He dragged Umi down below deck. Right when they got there the ship started rocking more. "This isn't good… This boat isn't meant to be out at sea this far."

"Kaito…" Umi whispered and clung to the wall. "Auntie!" She called up, but it was drowned out by the thunder. She flinched and crouched down. "I'm scared!"

"Umi." Kaito took a step towards her when there was a loud crash and then a loud crack sounded.

Umi looked up as Kaito fell backwards. "KAI-!" The ship rocked again and then started to split. Umi cried out as she fell under the water. The water crashed against her and swept her this way and that way. HELP! AUNT SAKURA! KAITO! MOMMY!
