Title2. Dress
Summary. She twirls around and he was memsmerized
It was December when Juvia decided to get some advice from the ice mage on what she should wear. She wanted to dress up for the upcoming ball on the 25th, she wants to look extremely beautiful on the said day.
After a lot encouraging her Gray-sama to come with her so he could help her what dress she should pick, the ice mage finally let out a sigh of approval.
"GRAY-SAMA!" She shouted as she excitedly turned into a corner, they were walking along the streets of Melandour, the city's finest shopping district.
She pointed giddily at a designer shop, a wide smile on her face. Gray, on the other hand, tried to catch up with her but made only a few efforts by dragging his feet heavily towards her direction. With an impatient expression, the blue-haired girl placed a hand on top of her white straw-hat, holding it firmly so it won't be flown by the wind, she jogged towards him and when she's finally beside him, she locked her arms around his and pulled him forward.
"You won't believe it! I just saw this pretty shop at the corner!" she mumbled, but Gray remained silent, not listening to her musings.
Upon arriving at the shop, Juvia immediately run towards the dresses hanged in a very expensive looking railings. She touched the fabric with her small hands before turning her head to look back at him. She waved and smiled. "Gray-sama! Over here!"
Gray rolled his eyes, and if only she doesn't matter to him, he would be already gone from the first place. He couldn't stand seeing her being excited over such dresses, he don't understand what is so good about it.
He crossed his arms in front of chest and waited for her to finish how she talked about the colors. She handed him a few dresses, telling him to hold it for her while she picked what may look good on her.
"How about this black one?" she asked, thrusting a long gown in front of his face.
"Why don't you just pick one?" he narrowed his eyes, frowning.
She playfully stuck her tongue out to him before returning on the dresses. "Here," she handed him three more dresses, all were bright and long. "I'll just check if this suits me, wait over there." She pointed at a red plump chair placed in front of the fitting room door. He nodded and waited for her.
He can clearly hear her mumblings; She was not so sure if it's right to wear this color or is too long or too fitting? He rolled his eyes once again and knocked on the door.
"Look," he started. "Why don't you come out and ask me if it's fine?" he cringed, imagining himself criticizing dresses while he didn't even know what to point out about it.
"H-hai!"
He could see how red her face was by the high pitch of her voice, he walked back on the chair and crossed his right leg above his left one.
Slowly, the door opened and Juvia's blue hair poked behind it. "J-juvia is very shy." She admitted and he was right about her red face.
"I don't really bite, Juvia." He smirked at her and it doubled the redness on her face.
She peered at him first before letting out a determined sigh. With slow movements, she pulled the door open and stepped out.
"How was it?" she run her hands at the dress, firming it to her waist down, she twirled and spotted a human sized mirror on the side. She checked herself comfortably, her back on him.
Gray was left in awe. His eyes remained on her face when she looked at the mirror, never leaving it.
She snapped her fingers, getting his attention. "Gray-sama?"
"W-what is it?"
She smiled at him, again. This time, her hair flew around her. "Juvia asks if this one looks pretty?"
"…"
Her blue eyes scanned him worriedly, he was staring openly at her, astonished.
"It's pretty." He coughed, finally removing his eyes away from hers. She only nodded and went back inside the room, she tried another one and told him that she'll be going out.
His heart made a loud thumping noise inside his chest, his ears couldn't hear what she's been saying because all he could hear is his blood running through his veins.
She was busy talking in front of the mirror, checking the long gown. "I think this one is too flashy for me." And without getting his opinion, she walked towards him and grabbed the white gown laying on his lap. "Maybe I should try this one instead."
His head had been losing all interest aside from her. He knew that he shouldn't be here because what he's feeling right now is very wrong. Very, very wrong.
She appeared once again on his line of vision, and his breath was caught.
White suits her the best.
"You look beautiful..." he commented. Juvia grinned and jumped to his side. "R-really? Juvia's glad that Gray-sama thinks that it's beautiful."
He smiled down at her, the words... his words are on the edge of his tongue but he couldn't say it.
"W-well, Juvia can't help but be nervous." she mumbled as she looked on the mirror once again. "What if Lyon-sama doesn't find it beautiful?"
He wanted to punch himself for letting her to tag him along.
He hates her whenever she talks about him.
And he remembered, it wasn't him anymore; It was now all about Lyon. It was not him who matters to her anymore. Not him.
He shrugged and let the dread spread through him, he placed his hands inside the pocket of his coat and he turned around. "I know he would like it. Trust me." He began to walk away. "I'll just wait for you outside."
She grinned happily. "Thank you, Gray-sama!"
For her, he would always be a Gray-sama and he knows that if it was for him, he would definitely love everything about her (and whatever she wears), she would always look beautiful in his eyes, no matter what. Trust him.
