Hello everyone. LooneyAces here with another new story. This story is prelude to the series of the continuity now known as the Shattered Skies Universe (LOONEY TUNES: THE BELKAN WAR, LOONEY TUNES: SHATTERED SKIES, LOONEY TUNES: BRAVE ARMS, LOONEY TUNES: SKIES OF DECEPTION, LOONEY TUNES: THE UNSUNG WAR, LOONATICS UNLEASHED: BRAVE ARMS, LOONATICS UNLEASHED: FIRES OF LIBERATION.). This story will focus on Bugs Bunny's grandfather Happy Bunny Rabbit during his service in World War Two. And to those who knows the Looney Tunes history, there was a Looney Tunes character before Bugs was created known as Happy Rabbit. In this story, Happy's appearance will be different than the original. This story is also a parody of the video game Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy. And this story will not show the date, time, and location during the combat missions. Disclaimer: I do not own Looney Tunes and Ace Combat. Looney Tunes and its characters are owned by Warner Bros. and Ace Combat and its characters, aircraft and callsigns are owned by Project Aces and Namco-Bandai. Anyway, enjoy the story.

Chapter 1A: Gambit.

It is morning in Sicily, Italy in the year 1943. It's been 4 years since the war started and 2 years since US headquarters initiated Operation Fighter's Honor. Operation Fighter's Honor is an operation in which to push the Germans, or Nazis due to the fascist party that is in power of Germany, back towards Berlin but also for the United States Army Air Forces, or USAAF, to established a unit consisting of the first ever anthropomorphic pilots and get them to fight the Nazis and help the Allied Forces. Anyway, at a anthro only military base, everyone was already reporting for duty. One of them was a rabbit with gray fur, white-colored fur cheeks and black fur at the tip of his ears and black eyes. He was wearing his flight suit and pilot's jacket. His name is Happy Bunny Rabbit. Happy is a calm, good-natured rabbit and he have been serving in the USAAF for 2 years at a very young age. Ever since leaving Brooklyn, New York, Happy takes his job real seriously and for the fact that he has been in combat missions before. Anyway, ever since the Allied Forces invaded Italy, there hasn't been any enemy action for weeks and there's nothing to do at the base, so Happy was just relaxing and hanging out with his fellow pilots. It wasn't until a officer told him to report to the briefing tent. Once he got there, a officer was waiting for him. He was a human, a man with light brown hair, dark blue eyes and he appeared to be in his early fifties. It was weird for Happy to see a human at a anthro only base, but he still reports in.

"Lieutentant Bunny, reporting as order, Sir." Happy said with his Brooklyn accent while holding his salute.

Happy then took a seat facing the officer and a map of Europe.

"We'll start the mission briefing. Your TAC is 'Phoenix', correct?" the officer said.

"Yes, Sir." Happy said.

"I'm Ulrich Olsen, Commander of this squadron. You'll be leading fighter squadron 37-18, AKA Scarface Squadron. Your mission will be to engage in against German Forces. Europe is in shambles due to the sudden uprising of the German invasion. As part of the Allied Forces, we are to surpress the Germans by any means and return peace to the continent. Now for your first mission. German bombers are headed for an Allied Forces frontline base located in Sicily, Italy. You are to intercept the bombers and take them out before they reach the Allied base. We assume that the bombers will be accompanied by several escort fighters. I'll be giving strategic directions during battle under the callsign Keynote. Keep your ears open for my transmissions. I've heard what you can do, Phoenix. I'm eager to see it." Commander Olsen said. "Dismiss."

Afterwards, Happy heads for his P-38 Lighting aircraft. The plane was painted like any other P-38, but the only way to distinguish this plane from the countless others was the red markings on the nose and the squadron's emblem on the tailfins. A firebird or phoenix. Anyway, after putting on his gear and pilot's hat, Happy climbs into the cockpit and starts the engines. He then taxis the plane to the grass runway and takes off to intercept the bombers.

I never put a disclaimer in the end of the first part of the chapter, but no offense to those that are offended in using anthros as being segregated to humans in reference to the civil rights movement.
