Suu giggled, altering and toying with a popular cake recipe. She cooked in small batches, and taste tested each one. She grinned, smelling her tiny creation. Her eyes opened wide as it was suddenly lifted from her hands, a few crumbs falling away from it. She turned around with a dark look in her eye, before floating up to and glaring at the culprit; Ikuto.

"Ikuto! You're not allowed to taste it yet! If Amu has to wait, you do to!" Su huffed, glaring at him. Their daughter, Hana, was celebrating her fourth birthday.

Their young daughter had dark blue hair, with one caramel-gold eye, and one blue eye. They were throwing an all out bash for her fourth birthday, and when she and Su discovered, the two girls were ecstatic. Su had begun making test recipes, and once she stumbled upon the best one she would let the small family try it. Ikuto, being himself, often tried to break this rule.

"Suuuuu!
You can't keep the cake away from me forever!" He whined, pouting at the small Chara. She stuck out her hands, gestured to the cake, and gave him a look. "Fine." He frowned, and quickly placed the mini-cake back into her hands. She nibbled it, and her eyes widened.

"Never mind, you can have a piece. This one is it!" She squealed, running towards the notes she had jotted down. He grinned, before quickly taking a small bite for himself. A devilish look flashed upon his face, and he quickly ran up the stairs and into the master bedroom.

"Amu. Amu! AMU. AMUUUU!" he whispered loudly, grinning psychotically. "This is THE cake. It's awesome, you should try it!" He smiled as she bit it, before quickly giving her a peck on the lips and running to Haney's room.

~~~~~~~TIME SKIP, HANA'S BIRTHDAY~~~~~~
Amu looked around in surprise, awe etching it's way onto her features. There were TONS of kids. She smiled, realizing that her little girl wouldn't be having problems with her strange eyes. She shrugged, before quickly breaking up two children who had been biting each other. She laughed, and quickly walked into the back to talk to the only other adult there: her husband. "Babe? Can I go grab a few more plates from the store? I hadn't expected so many kids..." He trailed off, his eyebrow raising.
"Sure! Of course! Go on, take your time!" She smiled, before shooing him away. "Bye!" She yelled as he stepped outside the house. He nodded, and she turned to the kids. "Let's go in the backyard to play!" She smiled, guiding the toddlers out as she held Hana's hand.
"Mama! Mama!" Hana screamed, racing towards Amu as her long ponytail flailed about. "When daddy left I saw this really really really really really ugly guy. He had stubbly, and he was chubby, and was wearing ugly dark clothes." The small girl giggled again, oblivious to her mother's horror.
"Hana, is that really what you saw?"
"Yup!"
"...Pinky promise?"
"I promise!"
Amu looked around in horror and immediately counted the children. She quickly found the total; twelve. Including her own kid, thirteen. She nodded as a bead of sweat rolled down her face, the hot air and amount of people becoming worse by the second. "H-Hana, sweetie, I need you to take all of your friends upstairs, okay? Be reeeeaaalllyy quiet. If you see Suu or Dia on the way there, tell them to come to me." She smiled gently, squeezing her daughters hand affectionately. "Next, I need you to get Mommy's phone- You know the password, right? Then I need you to call Daddy. Tell him about the ugly man, okay? Listen to what he says. Now go, hurry!" she quickly ushered the children into the house, leaving her daughter to guide them upstairs.
She didn't dare go into the house for a weapon; she might be putting the kids in even more danger. She had already gone over the major details, like whether the door had been locked or open, and the possibility of the man entering the house. She had decided the chances were near zero, and she quickly scanned the backyard for anything suspicious.
She heard the crunch of gravel behind her, and as she turned to face her opponent only to be kicked in the back of her knee and falling to the ground. She felt cool, smooth metal placed against the right side of her head and she froze, horror seeping it's way inside of her. "I want money. Unlock the back door." The man growled as he yanked Amu to her feet.
"I won't let you inside my house. Not now." She whispered as tears sprung to her eyes. The man glared at her before quickly putting his knees on her legs, pinning them, before removing the gun from her head and sitting on her. She gasped at the fluid motion, squirming as she tried to get herself away from the tall man. His hand slowly rubbed her sides, getting too close and tugging at her shirt more on every slide.
"Well, if you won't let me get the money, then I'll just get you." He said, the smirk evident in his voice. He slowly tugged up her shirt, before reaching and fumbling with the clasp of her bra. Amu felt hot tears roll down her cheeks as she realized what was about to occur. Suddenly, a loud crashing sound rang out before the man became dead weight on her back.
"Amu." The large man who had been lying on her was quickly thrown off as Ikuto encased Amu in a bone-crushing hug. She slowly hugged him back, before bawling loudly and burying her face into his shoulder. "Are you okay? He didn't manage to do anything, right?" Ikuto whispered in horror. He slowly cupped her cheek, lifting her face so the two could kiss.
"Back away from the girl!" Ikuto turned irritably, glaring at the four policemen. "We have a report that a suspicious man was lurking here!" They yelled, oblivious to the situation.
"I'm the one who called you. My wife, here, was in a dangerous situation with more than twenty other children, and I got here faster. The asshole was touching her in inappropriate ways, thus I felt the call to save her. This man on the ground is your crook." Ikuto stated flatly, although he had backed away anyways. "Please arrest him while me and my wife check on the children." As he spoke, the two men in the back went inside the house, guns raised. "Put your guns down! There's kids!" Ikuto shouted after them irritably.
"Sir, please put your hands in the air." The policeman glared at Ikuto, his gun raised to Ikuto's skull. Ikuto groaned, raising his hands up as the man on the floor began moving.
"Can somebody keep an eye on him? I get you hate me... Head Officer Bush? But he's the culprit." Ikuto nodded toward the man on the ground. The officer's partner nodded, aiming his gun at the other man. Meanwhile, Amu had regained her composure and was slowly picking apart what she could say to convince them that Ikuto was innocent, without making them feel he threatened her to say it. Desperation? No, that would make them think it was for the children's sake. Kissing him wouldn't work, too bold... She grinned. "Lightbulb..." she muttered, Ikuto grinning as he heard her words.
"Mr. Bush, would you believe me if I brought out my daughter and we can see who she looks most similar to?" The officer and his partner both looked at her in shock, and she smiled gently. "Please? I would like to see my daughter, anyway." She giggled nervously, looking at the two for approval.
"Ah, um... Of course, darlin." Officer Bush smiled at her, and she laughed weakly. Ikuto glared more at the cop, infuriated at his sudden and obvious flirting.
Ikuto cleared his throat, prepared to speak, before Amu gently shook her head in his direction."I'll go now, then, thank you." Amu spoke softly, carefully, and delicately. Officer Bush nodded at her, and she walked into the house. The second she stepped foot inside she raced upstairs. "Hana!" She yelled, tripping on the stairs. She burst into her room, the only room big enough to fit her and her friends. Hana looked up, tears in her eyes before running to her mother.
"MOMMY!" She wailed, racing to Amu and burying her face into her skirt. "Mommy scarwy polishe came in and- and they said d-daddy was bad!" She cried hysterically, barely pausing to breath. Amu kneeled down and carefully picked her up and looked over the children in the room. A few looked upset, one irritated. Most looked simply confused, which was great. If they knew, they would cry like Hana.
"Shh, shhhh... It's okay, sweetie. Daddy's not bad, and neither are the policemen who came in. They're just confused." She comforted the crying girl, rubbing her back softly. "Did you manage to find Dia and Suu as you came up? I can't find them." despite having finally resorted to sniffles, Hana burst into tears yet again. "Oh goodness, what happened baby?" Amu was shocked. The young girl rarely cried, and never had she ever sobbed so hard.
"I found D-Deea and Suu, b-but the-en Suu saw you outside and when 'poof'!" The small girl was crying inconsolably now, and Amu found herself wanting to join her. Slowly sitting on the ground, she buried her head into Hana's hair and let only a few tears fall.
"My sweet, sweet Su is now gone as well... Be happy, Suu. I hope you're with your sisters now..." Amu whimpered, before remembering her original plan. "C'mon baby, we gotta go outside and help the cops understand what happened." Amu carefully walked down the steps with Hana in her arms, and faced the two people she was starting to hate. "Excuse me, but I have to send kids home. It's getting dark. Please take him and leave, I'm sure we can do this some other day." Amu said coldly, glaring at the man on the ground.
"I just found out someone very close to my family has... Left us. Please leave with that disgusting man. As you can see, Ikuto there is my husband." She stated, gesturing to her daughters hair and strange eyes. "Thank you and goodbye." They seemed to notice the abrupt change in attitude, and quickly gathered up the guilty man and left.
-TIME SKIP, AFTER KIDS ARE SENT HOME-
"Suu's gone..." Amu sobbed for hours, despite Ikuto's attempts to cheer her up. "I'm sorry... I wasn't even there to see her off. I apologize, Amu." Dia mumbled sadly, floating to meet Amu's gaze. "I had to take care of the children and-" Amu gently tugged Dia to her, and the small chara broke down. For hours after, they sat together and mourned over the unexpected loss of yet another family member, and the realization:
There was only one left, out of the four girls that had been with her for her entire life... And Amu couldn't ever prepare herself.
