Chapter 3: A Normal Life

"Looks like you've got a fight on your hands." Asuka said to Jin.

"Wait, what?" Jin responded very confused.

"Hwoarang, he called you out to a fight this friday. You know he is the best fighter in the whole school right? He is even talking about entering the next King of Iron Fist Tournament. You're going to get your ass handed to you." Asuka said and started laughing.

"He didn't look that tough." Jin responded.

"Oh please, do you even know how to fight?" Asuka asked Jin.

"Yeah, my mother taught me in the Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts ever since I was young." Jin responded sounding triumphant.

"What would you or your mother know about that fighting style? My father teaches that style in a dojo near my house. We are the only family that knows that style without being taught by my father." Asuka responded getting sort of angry.

"Maybe my mother knew your father." Jin replied with something simple so they could get off the topic of his mother.

Asuka starred at Jin for a few seconds then said "You aren't very good at making friends are you Jin? First you push me on the ground, then get challenged to a fight, then make the kid in front of you get yelled at by Mr. Chaolan, and now you're trying to end this conversation as fast as possible. If you don't want to talk to me just say so, I won't mind." Asuka was still trying to make eye contact with Jin.

"I'm sorry, it's not that I don't want to talk to you. I just didn't like the subject we were on. And I've never been around people my age before so no I'm not very good at making friends." Jin responded, feeling a little hurt.

"What's wrong with that subject? It's just martial arts. Which is something we have in common." Asuka responded confused.

Jin didn't respond.

"Jin. Can I see your schedule?"

"Sure." Jin replied handing over his schedule.

"Well, at least we don't have all the same classes." Asuka said slightly annoyed.

"What do you mean?" Jin responded sort of confused.

"Four of our six classes are the same, same class, same period." Asuka said even more annoyed.

Jin didn't bother replying.

"Our next class is History, and that's it for the day. Wait, why am I even telling you this? You're a big boy can't you read a school schedule?" Asuka told Jin.

"I can probably figure it out if it's a problem. I've never gone to a public school before though. My mother has always home schooled me." Jin replied, once again not trying to annoy her.

"So you decide to stop being home schooled when you're... how old are you?" Asuka responded looking puzzled.

"I'm nineteen." Jin responded still with little enthusiasm.

"Tsk, old people. I'm only seventeen." Asuka responded and looked proud for some reason.

"Why did you stop being home schooled?" Asuka asked.

"My mother couldn't home school me any longer." Jin responded, this time avoiding the murder part.

"Public schools aren't to hard, you'll get used to it pretty soon. Our History class is right up here on the left. Our teacher is Ms. Chang. Never call her by her first name." Asuka said looking serious.

"Whats her first name?" Jin responded looking puzzled.

"Michelle. Nobody knows why but she hates when people call her it. She beat up one of the other teachers when they called her Michelle." Asuka said with a slight chuckle.

"Wish I could have seen that." Jin responded.

"Ask Ms. Chang where you should sit, just tell her you're new." Asuka told Jin.

"Ms. Chang?" Jin went to the desk at the front of the room and asked the lady sitting in the chair.

"Yes?" Ms. Chang responded.

"My name is Jin Kazama, I'm new, I came here today. Where should I sit?"

"Kazama, huh. Another one, are you a trouble maker like Asuka? Oh never mind. Sit where ever you want, it doesn't matter to me." Ms. Chang responded in a happy tone.

Jin looked around the class room for empty seats. There was one near a tall girl with long blonde hair and straight bangs across her face. She was currently making out with what he imagined was her boyfriend, a muscular man with blonde hair that was pushed back and flipped out a bit at the end. Jin decided it was best to not sit near them. Then there was the normal corner of the room with the jocks and random good looking girls. Jin turned his head around and jumped a little at what he saw. It was a small girl with two jet black pigtails and short bangs, there was only two things separating her from the rest of the class. Her bright orange bracelets and the fact that she was starring at him with her mouth wide open as if she saw God. He decided it would even be better to sit near the two love birds than her. The girl eventually stopped starring at Jin and yelled at the girl next to her to find a new seat, then ran up to Jin.

"Hi! My name is Xiaoyu, what's your name? Are you new? Do you need somewhere to sit? I noticed you don't have a backpack, do you need paper? And pens or pencils? I have tons of them, just say the word and I'll get them for you. I guess you don't have a seat so here come with me!" Xiaoyu grabbed his hand and started yanking him back to her seat.

Jin looked over at Asuka, she pretended not to notice. Jin looked at her again with a look that said he needed help. Asuka waved to him to show she will help. Asuka got up and walked over to him and Xiaoyu.

"Xiaoyu." Asuka said to get her attention.

"Oh hey, Asuka." Xiaoyu responded while still yanking Jin's hand.

"I'm supposed to be looking after Jin today and..." Asuka started but was cut off by an excited Xiaoyu.

"Oh! So your names Jin huh? That's such a cool name. That's the coolest boys name I've heard. I bet you get a lot of compliments on it. You'll have to bring me to meet your parents so I can tell them what a great job they did at naming you. How about next week? Or tomorrow? Or today?! What are you doing today Jin? We should hang out and get to know each other!" Xiaoyu started blabbering and then squealing at the end.

"Yeah, yeah its a fantastic name. Now come on Jin you're sitting next to me." Asuka retorted in a mocking way then ripped Xiaoyu's grip from Jin's hand.

"OOOOOOOOOOO Asuka you're going to regret that!" Xiaoyu screamed while rubbing her wrist with a painful expression. "You won't take Jin away from me!" Xiaoyu continued screaming then marched after Asuka and Jin.

"Xiaoyu! What's all this yelling for? Sit down and be quiet!" Ms. Chang yelled to Xiaoyu.

"Yes Ms. Chang, I'm sorry." Xiaoyu pouted while walking back to her seat then put her head down.

Asuka took Jin back to her seat.

"Thanks, Asuka." Jin said quietly.

"Well, don't expect me to help you anymore." Asuka said with a red face, embarrassed she was part of a big scene in class.

"Am I going to have to sit next to those two that won't stop making out?" Jin said while laughing a bit at Asuka's look.

"Nobody sits to the left of my seat so I guess you can sit there." Asuka said without enthusiasm.

"Sitting next to you won't make you mad? Like it did in Biology?"

"It's not like we have group assignments or anything, its just history class." Asuka replied, then motioned with her hand for him to sit down.

"Alright class, today marks our first group assignment in our history class!" Ms. Chang stood up and said with way to much enthusiasm.

"Oh come on." Asuka said under her breath.

"Jiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnn!" Xiaoyu yelled while running over to Jin's seat. "Will you be my partner? I bet we could have the best..."

"Xiaoyu, sit down!" Ms. Chang yelled, not letting Xiaoyu finish her sentence then waiting for her to return to her seat. "I'm deciding who will be partners. I want every boy to look to their right, the person sitting there is your partner."

Jin and Asuka looked at each other at the same time.

"God dammit." Asuka said quietly then covered her face with her hands.

"No group assignments huh?" Jin said.

"Shut up, Jin." Asuka said with a slight laugh.

"You and your partner must do a research paper on any important point in history, this point in history must have drastically changed the lives of a large group of people. It really won't be that hard. Just time consuming. You can start today in class. I recommend doing it over the week and week end though because its due next week. If you do your paper on something recent it might even be published." Ms. Chang explained.

The boy with pushed back blonde hair raised his hand.

"Yes Steve?" Ms. Chang acknowledged him.

"Can we do ours on a tournament? Like a boxing tournament?" Steve asked. Adding in three punches to the air.

"I don't see why not." Ms. Chang responded without a problem but looking very unimpressed by his 'boxing'.

"Jin." Asuka said.

"Yeah?" Jin replied.

"Want to do our paper on a tournament as well? Seeing that its something we have in common it might be kind of fun."

"Sure but which one?"

"Why not the most important one there is? The King of Iron Fist Tournament."

"What's that?" Jin replied ignorantly and recieved a deadly glare from Asuka.

"You say you can fight in the Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts but don't even know what the King of Iron Fist Tournament is? Unbelievable, who do you think you are?"

"I guess it's just not really my thing."

"Well I'll have you know there was a participant in the second tournament using my father's technique, as a member of his dojo I feel its my duty to educate you on it. We're doing our project on that. No complaints!"

"Hmph." Jin replied.

The bell finally rings after what seemed like an eternity of Ms. Chang tallking about things that did not interest Jin at all. Jin didn't even notice the paper airplane that was resting right in front of him. Jin opens it and reads

'Do you like me?

Circle Yes or No'

Followed by two big hearts and a picture of a panda.

"If I have to walk you around and be your partner in every class I will not be forced to listen to Xiaoyu 24/7 as well!" Asuka snatches the paper and answers 'No' with five assertive circles. Then throws it at the back of Xiaoyu's head.

"Awww look at that, Kazama Asuka finally has a boyfriend. Jin, was it?" The blonde girl says mockingly. "You can address me as Lili, honestly you could do much better than Asuka. Here's my number, call me anytime Jin." Lili then turns to Asuka. "I want a rematch! You fought unfairly last time and this time you won't win!"

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Noooooooooooooo!" Xiaoyu screams opening the returned letter, everyone looks over for a second. Then resumes their conversations.

"Just face it Lili, you're not as strong as me and you never will be. Also, Jin is NOT my boyfriend!" the two girls glare at eachother.

"You will be mine Jin Kazama!" Xiaoyu screams again, and no one pays attention. Just like last tme.

"Miss Lili, your limousine awaits." says an older man in a suit.

"Well its about time Sebastian. Jeez, what does my father pay you for? It's so hard to find good help around here. I have been waiting for three minutes you know?!"

"Yes, my apologiez Miss Lili." They both finally leave.

"Ahhhhhgg she's so annoying." Asuka says frustrated while walking out of the classroom.

"Who? That blonde girl? Yeah she seemed very stuck up." Jin responds.

"What? Oh, Jin. You know class is over, you don't have to follow me anymore."

"Oh, uh right. Well I'll just um find an exit." Jin says looking around rapidly.

"Good god you're helpless, come on." Asuka says annoyed.

They exit the school and Asuka stops at the schools main gate. "Can you find your way home or do you need help with that too?"

Before Jin can respond Asuka's cellphone rings "Just wait here, its my dad" Asuka says shyly and picks up the phone. "Yeah dad?... How did you know I'm with a boy?... What? No he's not fondling me!... No he's not my boyfriend!... No I'm not turning into a rebellious teenager, I'm on my way to the dojo right now!... Bring him with me? No!... You don't need to teach him a lesson, we aren't doing anything wrong!... If you take away my computer I won't know when the King of Iron Fist Tournament 3 starts!... Fine, fine! I'll bring him sheesh. Bye!." Asuka turns around to see Jin speed walking away. "Jin! Get back here! You got me in trouble and you're going to fix it!"

"Your dad sounds like he doesn't really like me too much, I think I'll skip this time."

"You're going to have to meet him eventually to help with this project anyway so come on."

"Hmph." Jin mutters remembering he has no where to go anyway.

Just as promised, Chapter 3. Definitely not super late or anything. Please enjoy and review!
