Uzumaki Reborn: Chapter 3
Not wanting Naruto to hear her conversation with the Kyuubi she created a shadow clone that she learnt from when she went through the memories of the Senju clan, when Tobirama created it. It was perfect for someone from her clan and was going to teach it to her otouto when they started training, she even loved it how when the clone dispelled she retrieved the memories. Oh she was going to have fun training with the Shadow Clone jutsu. Creating the clone, 'she' picked up Naruto and cradled him in her arms protectively and walked out of the room to talk to Naruto about a few things, since time differs considerably in someone's mindscape. A day in the mind would be a few seconds at the most in the real world. So she had all the time in the world to talk to the both of them.
As soon as the Uzu's clone left with Naruto, she released bucket loads of KI on her long-time friend and vise-versa. Red clashing with purple. Searching each other for answers, never noticing the raging waters below splitting like the red sea or the cracks forming on the walls from all the chakra pressure being exerted. Losing patient and composure looking at the woman in front of him, the woman bringing back unwanted fond memories that hurt his soul…he roared.
Not being fazed as her haori and bangs being blown back, Uzu decided to stop Kurama before they destroyed Naruto's Mindscape and make it look even more shit.
"Kurama, you asshole! Stop it. It's me Uzumaki Haruhi Ōtsutsuki! So calm the fuck down!" Uzu shouted above the Fox's deafening roar. Silencing the Kyuubi with the power she held behind her voice. The fox eyed her carefully before saying skeptically. "Mortal, don't patronize me. How do you know of mine & that name?! Answer me!" bellowed the beast at the ending of his sentence. "You dare give me demands. ME! Know your place you overgrown rabbit, or have you forgotten your manners to your elders. Dattebane!" The Kyuubi glared at her, obviously not believing her. Though he did recognize the motor mouth and verbal tick she had, just like his nee-chan all those years ago. (And his second & current container with their verbal tenancies.)
Uzu could see that Kurama wasn't budging. Of course he wouldn't. They all thought I was dead. Uzu sighed and let the anger recede from her body before approaching her little brother, though he wasn't exactly little…even 1000 years ago. Kyuubi could see in her eyes that it held love, sorrow and pain as she approached him. He didn't want her anywhere near him. Her whole being was throwing him overboard and threw a claw out hoping to get her away.
Seeing the claw Uzu dodged swiftly and ran towards the cage, dropping her gravity seals making her speed increase dramatically that Kurama couldn't follow her. His eyes widened as he felt her hug the top of his large snout. Kurama was about to shake her off till she released her wings wrapping them around his mouth; allowing the chakra from her body to seep into the fox and let their memories of their time together flow into his fur.
Uzu could feel Kurama relax under her and re-activated her gravity seals, holding on tight to make the large fox know that she was there. That she was alive. She was the real-deal. Kurama snapped his eyes shut, reliving the days where he was happy and not alone.
Kurama was sprawled out in a large meadow, no could in the sky briefly listening to his brethren play in the long grass…"Common Rama-chan, come play"…he could see an elderly man walked up to the him, his hair partly looking like horns, "Hello son. How are you?"…rolling in the grass tickling the young red-head…Kurama and the other Buji were lying out under the starry night…slowly drifted off to sleep, wrapping his tails protectively around his Nee-chan…her beautiful red hair flowing in the wind…her gracefulness while she danced through her Katas…her lovely smile and caring nature…her stubbornness…her temper…her unique chakra.
He could never forget the soothing chakra that Uzu-nee used whenever he was about to lose control, the chakra that could sooth and tame any of his brother & sisters. The memories of their time together and the familiar chakra proved too much for him as he shrunk down and morphed into his human form.
Kurama was 5'2 with beautifully tanned skin and shaggy blood-red hair that had bangs that covered his red slit eyes, making him physically look 17. Kurama had high cheek bones and a narrowed face, like a fox and two long canines that overlapped his thin lips. He wore a short sleeved teal colored Yukata with white waves rolling along the bottom and white clouds floating on the back.
The now human Kurama melted into Uzu's embrace quietly letting the tears flow down his chiseled features. Wrapping her wings around his solid build as she set them gently onto the sewer floors. Kurama nuzzled his head into her stomach as she ran her small fingers through his shaggy hair and down his back whispering, "Sshh its okay Rama-chan. Nee-chan's here so let it all out. I'm not going anywhere." The emotions Kurama held in since her death rolled out in painful wails and burning tears. I'm never going to live this down. He thought as he tried to calm his raging emotions, while wrapping his arms tightly around her lithe waist.
(With Naruto & Clone)
'Uzu' cradled Naruto closer to her chest as she wondered around the sewers, finding a place further but close enough from the Kyuubi's chambers. Uzu was both glad and angry at the same time. Glad that Naruto was small enough for her to carry. Angry that she could feel how malnourished and skinny he was. I'm going to have to change this if he wants to be Hokage.
Deeming that they were far but close enough, Uzu sat down on the wet floor not caring for the wetness finding its way through her lower body and moved Naruto around so that he was sitting in her lap. Seeing that he was still shaking, Uzu brought him into a warm hug rubbing his back. Deciding to bring Naruto's thought away from Kurama she asked. "Naruto. Look at me."
Knowing that his nee-chan didn't use the nickname she had dubbed him, he listened and looked up to her, seeing the concern flow through her face, that it caused a slight crease in her brow. Not liking that feature on her face, he reached up with a now steady hand and rubbed at it, wanting it to go away. His move caused Uzu to chuckle and move his hand away, wanting him to answer a question that had been on her mind for quite a while now. "Naruto, I know Ji-chan hasn't said anything, but who do you think your parents are?" Naruto's eyes widened and closed them searching through his memories and snapped opened his eyes after a few minutes.
Uzu saw the confidence in his sky orbs and nodded for him to speak. "Well whenever I got caught for one of my awesome pranks, I was always dragged to Jiji's office and since he didn't want to do his paperwork and I wasn't in the mood to go to the academy, Jiji would always tell me stories of the Yondaime. I always thought it was weird how he would always talk about him rather than the Shodai or Nidaime and he would always give me these funny looks…along with those clan heads. But I didn't think much of it, till I saw the photo of the Yondaime when I was 9. The man looks exactly like me, except for the obvious whisker marks and whatnot. So I got curious and did some research on him and asked at bars in henge…did you know my henge's are real, cool right; it's all thanks to my Oiroke Jutsu…" Naruto saw a glare at the bar bit and humor swim pass across Uzu's face at his Jutsu and chuckled nervously while scratching the back of his head.
"Anyway. You know how bartenders know all the gossip. So I talked to them, pretending to be drunk and asked them. It took a while but one night I challenged the barkeep into a drinking contest & swapped my drinks whenever he was chugging one and he finally spilled. Saying something like, Minato and that red-haired beauty…Kushina Uzumaki. I didn't want to believe that I got her name randomly so I looked her up too at the shinobi ranks. Its quiet easy to sneak around the village, Jiji is losing his touch…" Uzu snapped him out of his musing, wanting him to continue his story and not get distracted. If Naruto could do this when he was 9. I wonder what he can do when I'm finished training him.
"Oh sorry, I found that she died in the night of the Kyuubi attack, so I went to go visit her grave and saw that it was in a sectioned of part in the cemetery. When I managed to get pass the people who were there visiting their loved ones I found that she was buried next to the Yondaime…and that's when I managed to put two and two together once I read the inscription on their headstones." Naruto had tears streaming down his face, his bright voice turning into a soft whisper. "I've always wondered why the Yondaime chose me…an orphan. But if I was in his position I would've used my own child as well, I could never ask another family to bare such a heavy burden…and that's when I knew. That the Yondaime was my father and that Kushina Uzumaki was my mother." Naruto rubbed the tears from his eyes and leaned back onto Uzu's chest letting her comfort him. It was a new feeling and he liked it…a lot. "Who'd of thought that I, Naruto Uzumaki would be the son of the famed 'Yellow Flash' and 'Red Hot-blooded Habanero'. Me. I understand why Jiji didn't tell me with all the enemies & whatnot; and I didn't want to burden him anymore than he is by telling him my theory."
"You know…" Uzu whispered. "Our clan has been the holder of Kurama for 3 generations now. The first was Mito Uzumaki, she was the wife to the Shodai Hokage and the second…-Sigh- The second was your mother, Kushina." Naruto snapped his head up to Uzu, questions clearly floating by his face. "It was kept secret that Mito & Kushina were Jinchuriki to Kurama but as for you, word got out that your father sealed him into you by the ANBU who witnessed the sealing & wanting revenge for the destruction Kurama caused, condoning you to a life in solitude and pain. The boss is talking Kurama about what happened to him during the fight between Hashirama Senju & a man named Madara Uchiha and when he attacked the village all those years ago." While Uzu was talking she shifted Naruto so that he was sitting next to her looking into the sewer waters.
"Naru-chan would…would you like to see the memories of your parents. It's quite beautiful if you asked me." They remind me of myself and my husband. She thought sadly as she rubbed her collarbone unconsciously.
The blonde Jinchuriki caught the emotion and decided to lighten the mood, even though he desperately wanted to know more about his parents now that Uzu confirmed his suspicions. "Okay, but I don't want to see them in the process of making me." He commented with a sly grin. That only got him hit over the head and heard her reply. "Gaki! Who'd ya take me for? Dattebane! I ain't like that closet pervert of a Hokage." Naruto rubbed his head and retorted. "Itai! Do you have to hit so hard…" A thought then crossed his whiskered face. "HA! So you are a pervert! Dattebayo." Uzu failed to will away the blush that crept up onto her cheeks and turned to face to the water, drawing seals with her chakra. "Shut up Gaki and get over here and look." She said as she finished and mentally whispered, 'Fuinjutsu: Whisper of the mind.'
Naruto leaned over to see a young girl with beautiful red hair enter a classroom and declare. "I'm going to be the first female Hokage. Dattebane!" Naruto thought that his mother was beautiful…
(With Kurama & Original)
"Uzumaki how are you still alive? We all thought that man killed you." Kurama spoke while he rested his head in her lap, reviling in the touch of his sister. "Uchi…He couldn't kill me, so he did the second best to get back at Otou-sama and Nii-san by sealing me away. –Sigh- I thought I could talk to him…make him see the light once more." Uzu chuckled darkly recalling the night she was sealed while retracting her wings. "Who'd of thought, a middle-aged woman such as me would be so naïve to try and change him. I should've known better when he…when he…" Uzu let the sentence hang in the air, not trusting herself to finish and recall her greatest nightmare. Kurama understanding unwrapped himself and reversed the comforting till Uzu was in his lap, bringing her to his chest. Waiting patiently for her to talk again.
"It seems you couldn't get enough of my lovely descendants if you've been sealed into them for the past 100 years." She felt Kurama scoff into her hair and reply. "I was perfectly fine, till a man from his accursed clan had the nerve to control and make me fight against that measly Hokage and his damned Mokuton bloodline." "Madara Uchiha & Hashirama Senju. –Chuckle- to think that they follow the paths my brothers had. But now that I have an understanding of how you were sealed in Mito…what happened the night of Naruto's birth?" Kurama looked into the eyes of his older sister seeing the pain that man and his clan had put on both her & her brother's clan and sighed; standing up with Uzu in tow and took her to the far side of his cage. "Nee-chan. Are you sure you want to know. It might change…everything." The silent glare from his sibling was the only thing he needed and placed his hand on the wall showing her the night of the attack from his point of view.
Uzu saw from when the Yondaime was holding the seal in place, to when the Kyuubi & Kushina were taken by a masked man to the outskirts of the village and watched as he ripped Kurama out of her descendant. Placing Kurama under a Gen Jutsu to attack the village. She watched on as she saw her brother claw and whip at the shinobi trying to stop him & could hear his thoughts roaring for them to get away. She saw as the Yondaime appeared on top of the Hokage monument ready to deflect the oncoming Bijūdama all the way to when a giant toad landed on top of the fox, crushing him to when the Yondaime transported both him and Kurama away with his Hiraishin Jutsu. Uzu had seen everything else from there on and didn't wish to see it again and told Kurama to stop.
Sitting back down, back against the wall, Uzu was going through the new found information and finally spoke up. "Minato was right about one thing, it was an Uchiha who started the attack, but it wasn't Madara." The Kyuubi looked interested and stood across from her looking down on the red-head, grunting in response for her to continue. "When I was going through the memories in the Dragon's realm, I could also feel the chakra signatures for each member of the 3 clans…that masked ninja's chakra didn't feel like Madara's but it was defiantly familiar. Hmmm. Give me a minute." She finished and sat in a lotus position, meditating, sorting through the information in her head, recalling the Chakra signatures she had come across.
It always amazed Kurama to see his sister sit still when she was always moving somehow. Then again their father had taught her how to gather Nature chakra and become a sage but she never used it or his teachings to make her a Priestess like himself or her mother's techniques. She learnt them but never bothered using them, going out to learn her own style. Hagoromo & Ninufuka thought that she was going through a rebellion phase and soon learned after that she didn't want to be treated differently…more delicately than her brothers just because she was a girl and set out to create her own clan. Whether they liked it or not. At first they didn't like the idea of their baby girl going out and meeting the wrong mate to bond with, till she came home the following year with 10 orphans in tow looking like her and told them about her unique gift. Of course this didn't stop her parents or her brothers from interrogating every man that wished to court her. Kurama was brought out of the past when he saw the blank look on Uzu's face when she opened her eyes. Seeing that feature before he rushed towards her and shook her slowly making her look him in the eyes and said in a clear steady tone. "What did you find?"
Seeing the worry evident in Kurama's eyes she emotionlessly whispered. "Do you know of a boy named Obito?" Kurama tilted his head to the side, pulling forth memories from his time in Kushina and nodded. Uzu made a gesture for him to talk and stood up as he pulled her from her sitting position and walked out of his cage, looking at each other from opposite ends of the prison.
"He was a member of the Genin team of Kushina's mate. Hmmm. He seemed to be from thatclan with the cursed eyes, though he was different. He wasn't as stuck up like those royal assess and looked as if he admired the Kit's father. And from what the kit's father told Kushina, the boy died saving his teammates; giving his teammate his left Sharingan eye as a gift." The Kyuubi looked past his cage and into the lifeless amethyst eyes of the Uzumaki clan founder and adverted his gaze anywhere but her eyes. He had seen her eyes like that once before & never wished to see them again. "It was the boy; he was still alive from then."
Uzu's eyes flickered back to reality and replied. "Yes. It seems half of the Uchiha clan follows the circle of hatred while rest seems...neutral. I'm not even sure if there are still remaining members of my clan left, since the dragons didn't follow the wondering division. –Sigh- I have a lot of work ahead of me." Uzu closed her eyes feeling that Kurama wanted to ask her something and being impatient as she was she yelled at the fox. "Well are you going to keep fuckin' staring or talk!" Kurama sighed within the cage, remembering her foul mouth and short-violent temper. "Uzumaki what are you planning on doing?"
"I plan on reuniting the Ōtsutsuki blood and lead brother's clan out of the circle of hatred. This world has forgotten Otou-sama's teachings; they use Chakra to as a means of power instead of using chakra to aid the helpless and mother-nature. I'll show them why Obaa-sama ate the forbidden fruit of the Shinju; I'll bring peace across the nations!" She said, conviction burning in her eyes. Kurama gave her a foxy grin and replied. "Good now get me out of this seal. I'm sick of living in here."
"No. You're staying in there as punishment."
"NANI?! Why the hell should I stay in here?!" Kurama roared, transforming into his natural form for added affect.
"-Sigh-" She held out her hand and began counting off. "1) This is punishment for scaring Naru-chan. 2) you've destroyed countless villages since I've been gone. 3) There is a reason for the Yondaime to seal you within his own child. 4) As beautiful as this seal is, I can't meddle with anything that origin from the Shinigami for being a child of a fallen Angel, even if the seal itself was made by my clan…Unless I do something drastic, that could permanently damage or kill me. 5) I can only arrange the seal to give you a chakra form out in the real world, but only if Naruto grants it. He controls your freedom both in here and in the real world. And 6) you're a Bastard." She finished listing off, inwardly laughing.
Uzu looked back up to Kurama and gave him a sickly-sweet smile that made him shy away from his cage, emitting a small growl from his throat. "Now Rama-chan, when Naru-chan gets back you're going to apologise. Is that clear?" not waiting for an answer Uzu created another clone and made it dispel to alert the Kage-Bunshin with Naruto.
(With Naruto)
'Uzu' felt a clone disperse giving her the OK to return but waited for her otouto to gather himself together. He had just finished listening to his father & mother's parting words, with the Kyuubi's claw imbedded into them, saving his baby-self from harm.
Squeezing his shoulder she indicated that it was time for them to return to the original and Kyuubi. She didn't want to tell the pre-teen that she could feel faint amounts of Minato's & Kushina's chakra within the seal, thinking it's better for Naruto to discover his parents Chakra on his own and when he's ready.
Standing from the murky water Naruto wiped his tears away with the ends of black GI that wasn't already wet and walked alongside Uzu holding her hand whispering. "Arigato Uzu-nee."
Squeezing his hand letting him know it was okay, they walked back in a comfortable silence. Feeling the burden on their shoulders lighten significantly.
The duo walked back into the Kyuubi's chambers to see the fox wrapped in his tails, looking like he was trying to hide and the original smiling at the Kyuubi with a scary aura swirling around her. The Kage-bunshin dispelled with a sigh leaving Naruto to tread carefully towards his guardian.
Uzu rounded on Naruto pulling him into a fierce hug as she finished going through her clone's memories and gently released him as she heard the Fox snicker realizing she was smothering him and pushed him towards the Kyuubi. "Kurama has something to say to you Naruto." Reassuring him with her kind smile and glaring up at the fox, Naruto turned around and faced the Kyuubi once again, remembering that he has his sister behind him to put the Fox in his place if he did anything to him.
Kurama looked down to his container, drawing out a breath making the Uzumaki siblings hair fly about and gave the blonde Jinchuriki a pained, saddened & lonely look that broke Naruto's heart. Why does anybody or thing remotely related to my clan seem hurt? Why? I don't want to see those eyes on anybody. Not nee-chan, not Tou-san, not Kaa-san "and not you." He said out-loud, running into the cage to hug the Kyuubi. "Please Kyuubi-san; don't look through those eyes anymore. Your no longer alone…so please don't use those eyes."
Kurama eyes widened as he looked down to his container, hugging his paw. His face cuddling into his body, Naruto's small frame melding into his fur. Kurama was left speechless for the first time in many centuries. He thought that the blonde Uzumaki would flinch away in fear like he did mere minutes ago; but here he was pleading with him that he was no longer alone. Kurama had seen the boy's life through the images that would float by in his Mindscape and felt the guilt weld up within himself when he tried to influence the boy to release him, when already his container was having a hard life and the last thing the boy needed was for him to drive him off the edge. Kurama had a lot to make up for to his Kit and didn't want to let down the true heiress to the Ōtsutsuki line. He was ready to repent for his mistakes and was going to take his first step through his Jinchuriki. Transforming back into his human form, Kyuubi knelt down before his container and looked deep within his heaven-colored eyes and said.
"Naruto Uzumaki. Son of Minato Namikaze & Kushina Uzumaki. I, Kyuubi no Kurama ask for forgiveness and in return I shall help you get stronger to achieve your dream; and if you allow it, I wish to stand by your side as your partner, as your equal." Naruto stood bug-eyed not only at Kurama's request but also how beautiful the man was and felt the heat rise to his cheeks as he tried to form words through his dried lips. Uzu watching the whole confrontation smirked playfully and mused out loud. "Now. Now. If the two of you are going to keep looking dreamily into each other's eyes, confessing your undying love for each other and end up making out, tell me now. I know growing boys like the both of you need your privacy." Uzu began to laugh as she saw the two flustered teens look away from each other, stuttering their denials at the female red-head.
Getting her laughter under control Uzu says, "Well Naru-chan what do you think? Do you want to be partners with the big bad Fox? Or do you want to rest & think about it later?" Kurama understanding seeing the tired eyes of Haruhi & the mentally drained ones of his container voiced. "Come find me when you have an answer Gaki, I'm going back to sleep. Later Mortals." Pushing Naruto out of his cage he turned back into his true form, curling into a large fluffy red cloud and went to sleep. "Lazy asshole." Haruhi muttered as she took hold of her otouto and formed a half ram sign, cancelling the jutsu.

Returning to the real world the Uzumaki duo's eyes fluttered open, adjusting slightly to the bright Sunday mid-morning sun. Looking into each others eyes they burst into laughter, realizing how messed up their lives are and wiped away tears of happiness that either aren't walking down that path alone. Not knowing that in the Hokage's office there were Ninja dying to leave the room to see who the unfamiliar female was with the village's number 1 prankster and the satisfaction the Hokage got out of his Jounin's masked reactions. The ANBU clearly not wanting to go anywhere near her, scared that they may offend her and her charge unconsciously.
Letting the laughter die down Naruto helped Haruhi stand and both looked out over the village, ravishing in its beauty. "So…ready to go to our new home?" she stated before dashing off to Naruto's apartment to gather his gear.
