A/N: I just read a comment about Eric having to fight for his love. Yes, he will.

All mistakes are my own.

I do not own TB

It's been about a week since Eric moved out of their rooms.

Sure, the staff was talking, but because Sookie, Pam, nor Eric were talking about anything, no one had any real information. Sookie for once, was glad of the peace. She loved her husband, but as of late, being with Eric was stressful. She loved him, and always would; however, the pressures of being the vampire king's wife was catching up to her.

She missed when it was just them. Talking for hours, making love on every surface, laughing at the stupidest things. But, the moment Eric came into more power, his entire demeanor was different. She just needed time.

The baby was a blessing. An unexpected blessing, but one nonetheless. She didn't care the gender, but she had a feeling it would be a boy. A strong, wise boy, that would love his father as much as she did. But, for now, she needed Eric to see that if he didn't change, and soon, he'd be divorced. It would be hard, but Sookie would do it. But, she didn't want to think that way. Even though it'd only been a week, Sookie noticed her body changing slightly. For one, her already big boobs were becoming even bigger. Her hair was getting thicker, and her skin seemed to hold a continual golden hue. Claudette told her that fae pregnancies were revered, and sacred. She also told her that in the next coming weeks, she would be horny beyond belief, but Sookie couldn't think about that right now.

After another restless night of sleep, Sookie woke up to Pam waiting for her as soon as she left the bathroom. She'd been hit with this morning sickness, but as soon as it was over, she felt so much better. Sookie couldn't be mad; she knew that it meant the baby was healthy, alive and still growing. Something that would always make her happy.

"Pam. Hi."

"Hi, Sookie. And let me say, you are looking quite fertile today." Sookie rolled her eyes, as Pam was leering at her recently endowed breasts. She was grateful to be wearing a loose dress.

"Barefoot as well? You truly are living up to your pregnancy stereotype."

"Shut up Pam."

Beaming at Sookie, she followed the blonde woman as she walked down the massive hall to the kitchen. When they were first married, Eric brought land. He presented it to Sookie, and told her that instead of buying an already created home, he wanted her to create and design her own haven. She was thrilled of course, but left everything in his capable hands. Everything except the kitchen. She was thrilled she was able to cook, and now that she became an immortal with fae powers, she was able to pass them down to Eric, and Pam. For all intents and purposes, they became hybrids as well. But, Eric didn't want it to be public knowledge, for fear of people targeting Sookie even more just to get her blood.

The kitchen was a open plan with granite counters, and glass cabinets. Everything was stainless steel, and the walls were a bright blue. In the kitchen was a bay window, and it had seating, so anyone could look at the view of the massive backyard. The dining table, was pushed to the back corner, and it seated only eight. Taking a seat at the stool, Pam watched as Sookie began pulling out ingredients to make breakfast. Pam was about to ask her about the baby, when they both heard a voice in the corner of the room.

"Good morning, ladies."

Glancing up, Sookie was surprised to see Eric sitting at the table. He had some papers spread out in front of him, and kept his gaze on Sookie the entire time. Sookie swallowed at the heated look in his eyes, and broke their gaze to focus back on the food in front of her.

"What are you doing here? You typically have meetings in the morning," Sookie said, as she pulled out a bowl from under the counter. She opened the carton of eggs and began cracking them. Standing, Eric walked over to her, until he was standing across from her, the island separating them.

"I did. But I wanted to see you first. I knew you were resting, and Pam said that you were sick?"

Blowing some hair out of her face, she shrugged.

"It's okay. Just the baby is all." Sookie was unaware that she ran her hand over her stomach, as she looked at him, and Eric gazed at her in adoration. Pam however, was about to gag, and stood.

"If you'll excuse me. I have somewhere to be."

"Where do you have to be?" Sookie asked, raising a brow. Smirking at the blonde woman, she winked at her.

"Anywhere but here."

As soon as she left, Sookie gazed for a second at Eric before turning the stove on. She put some pieces of back into the skillet, while humming under her breath. Taking a seat at the counter, Eric asked Sookie's plans for the day.

"Well, Claudette told me that fae women who are pregnant need to be in the sun at least an hour a day. So, as soon as I eat, i'm going to go lay in the sun. She said it helps the baby grow."

Interested, Eric watched as Sookie moved around the kitchen.

"I didn't know that."

"Me either."

Sookie pulled up at chair, and sat across from him, waiting for her food. She turned her gaze to the backyard while Eric continued to study her.

"Tell me what you're thinking."

Without hesitation, Sookie answered.

"Honestly? I'm thinking about this baby. How unexpected it was, and how happy I am with the child." Turning to gaze at Eric, she lowered her voice.

"I want our baby to be proud of us, you know? I also want he or she to know how much I love them. How i'd do anything for them. Silly, I know."

Standing, Eric rounded the corner. He tilted her head.

"No. It's not silly, Sookie. I think having this baby is a blessing as well, and our child will know how much they are loved simply because of you." Staring into his eyes, Sookie found herself calming at the surety in his gaze. She heard the bacon pop on the stove, and quickly stood, ending the moment. Clearing his throat, Eric told her about his day.

"I'll be heading into the city. Something happened in downtown Dallas, and they wanted me to take a look at it."

The only thing that became public knowledge was that Eric was now a day walker as well. Because of his lineage to Sookie Stackhouse, and her royal blood, it became a shock once the world found out. His status meant that he was feared even more. Taking the meat out of the pan, Sookie walked back over with the plate, before grabbing the bowl filled with eggs.

"Do you know what it is?"

Shaking his head, he said no.

"I only know that some new radical group is coming up, and they want me to forfeit my kingdom. I will not." At Sookie's resigned look, Eric answered quietly.

"Sookie. I will not step down because of the reasons you think. Do you know what the vampire council told me the other day?" Shaking her head, she waited for him to continue.

"They told me that, with a bit of hesitation, that vampires had never felt more safe or united since I took over. That, along with my decree of makers never exploiting the people they turn, vampires feel as if they can live a true, and honest existence. Jessica said that she even heard other saying how low the killings have gone down between species."

Sookie's eyes widened in surprise. She knew Eric was busy, but she didn't know to this extent.

"That is great, Eric. I truly am proud of what you've done. No one should have to go to war for their entire existence." Sookie opened her mouth to speak, but then closed it before shaking her head.

"What? What were you going to say, Sookie?"

Putting the eggs in the hot pan, she stirred the food, so it wouldn't stick. After several more minutes of silence, and plating the rest of her food, did she turn and face him.

"I just want you to be safe."

"Sookie-"

"Eric. What good is having peace if you will never be around to see it?"

….

Laying out in the sun was a favorite past time of Sookie's. Even before she became immortal, she would bask in the natural light, feeling relaxed, and happy. The only difference was that the sun gave her energy, and apparently kept her light strong about her. Feeling a shadow come over her, she smiled at her brother.

"Sam! What brings you here to Texas? Is everything alright?"

Sinking to the grass beside her, he held her hand firmly.

"Sookie. I don't know how else to say this, so i'm going to just get to it." Sitting up, she stared at Sam with wide eyes, willing him to come out and say it.

"It's Claudette."

Eyes wide, Sookie continued to stare at him.

"What's wrong? I just saw her yesterday evening. She seemed fine."

Shaking his head, he sighed.

"She was killed this morning. Warlow said that Claudette received a distress call from you. Said Claudette was worried because of your pregnancy. She was even more upset that it came from Bon Temps, as you now live here in Texas. He arrived seconds after her death, thinking something was wrong."

Studying his face, Sookie spoke softly.

"That's not the only thing wrong, is it."

Shaking his head, he waited until she calmed somewhat before answering her question.

"It's Jason. He too was killed. He was at my bar, and we all heard a commotion out back. He saw Claudette fighting off some crazed guy, and Jason stepped in to defend her. Unfortunately, the person killed Claudette, before shooting Jason."

"Oh, God!"

Knowing he had to get this out quickly, Sam fought his own tears. Lafayette was able to shoot the guy with my gun from my back office, but the medics were too late. He died before they could get him to the hospital. Warlow took Claudette away, but he said he would contact you when it was time."

Bent over, Sookie began screaming at the top of her lungs. No! No! No! This can't be happening.

"No. Not Jason. Not him. Please God not him!"

Sookie was gasping for breath, clutching her stomach, unable to keep the grief inside of her.

…..

Pam was running at supersonic speed to get to Eric. She overheard the conversation when she noticed Sookie's friend came to visit her. It was sad that it wasn't a social call. The moment she heard what happened she practically flew to where Eric was having his meeting. Arriving at the door, she burst into the room.

Instantly noticing the look on Pam's face, he stood.

"What is it?"

"It's Sookie. It's bad."

The men at the table were wondering what it could be. He excused himself before following Pam out of the room. The moment they stepped outside, he pulled her close to him.

"Tell me."
….

Sookie had been crying and screaming for the last half hour. Sam tried to get her to calm, especially when he found out from Jessica she was pregnant, but she was not listening to anyone. She kept rocking herself back and forth in the grass, digging her hands into the soil. It seemed as if she was looking for something to make the pain stop, but was unable to. The whole entire staff was surrounding Sookie in the grass trying to get her to calm down, but she didn't seem to hear any of them. It wasn't until everyone heard a door slam that the attention was turned to Eric striding from the back patio door, over to her. Sinking to his knees in front of her, he pulled her against his body, wrapping his arms around her middle.

Eric glared at everyone.

"Have none of you been able to calm her?"

Everyone answered honestly.

"No, sir. She's been this way for the past hour."

Sookie continued to moan, and scream even as Eric held her in his arms, rocking her. He kissed the side of her head, before telling everyone to leave. Before Sam could however, Eric stopped him.

"Thank you, Sam. Please, stay. I would appreciate it."

"I wish I could, Eric, but I've got a business to run. I knew that Sookie needed to know immediately. I'll tell Pam what else I know, but please contact me if you want to know anything else. I'd be glad to help."

Thanking the man, he watched as Pam escorted him out of the house before turning his attention to Sookie fully. Gently shushing her, he ran his cool hands up and down her arms, and around her stomach.

"Sookie. My love. You have to calm down. It's not good for the baby. Remember? He or she needs you. They need you healthy." Eric kept saying those words repeatedly until he felt her heart start to calm a bit. She didn't speak, but she did calm down a bit.

"There. That's my girl. Much better. We will fix this. I promise Sookie, that whoever did this to you, will pay. I swear on my life, that this will not go avenged."

Uh-oh. It's over now. Eric, the Viking has come out to play. Love you all, leave me a review.
