Many have wondered what secrets are hidden beneath the waves of the oceans. What worlds lie under its cold blue waters. And what animals call this unknown area home. Many stories have popped up over the years, tails of monster with teeth as sharp as blades, arms as long as ships, and beauties that lured men to their doom. For most, they have been chalked up as fake and myths, some... remain undecided. But for the Autobots, one 'fish-tail' has made it into the light of day.

Standing not to far from a medical berth, Optimus watched as his oldest companion tried, and in a way failing, to make the creature they had named Delphinus speak clearly. "Come on now, say it with me. Auto-bot!" Ratchet screamed as his temper was at its peak with this strange femme. Delphinus had been refusing to say another word for over three hours now, only staring off into space with her mind thinking on Primus knows what. "I give up Optimus. She wont say another word, not even a letter!" Ratchet huffed as he stormed past his leader to a computer to type in this situation.

"Perhaps you should try a different approach." Optimus said as he sat down next to the femme, who paid little thought to him as she found the table next to her interesting. Placing his servo on her shoulder, Optimus watched as Delphinus gave a quick twitch from his touch before looking at him with her blue glass like eyes.

"I know you can understand me," Optimus said calmly. "So please, talk to us." Delphinus seemed to think about it for a moment before she ran her servos through her cable hair. "T-this place... st-strange." she spoke out, almost like that of a young child locked in a dark room. "I guess it is." Optimus said as he looked around. "From what you are used to, many things must be strange."

Nodding her helm, Delphinus glanced at Ratchet. "That one m-mean." she said in a whisper but even still the medic could hear it. Smiling down at her, Optimus nodded before he looked back at his friend. "Yes, sometimes I guess he is." At hearing this, Ratchet gave off a loud huff and stormed out the room mumbling 'mean my aft!'

"W-where am I?" Delphinus asked as she tried to look out the door Ratchet had gone through. "Our base; our home." Optimus said as he stood up and held out his servo to Delphinus. "Would you like to see all of it?" Looking at his servo, Delphinus nodded before taking it. Pulling her into his arms, Optimus carried her out of the med-bay and into the main room where they soon found everyone else.

"I see you found a way to transport her for a bit." Arcee said from her side of the room, which was far enough from the stranger in her mind. "She wants to have a look around the base, so I am showing her." Optimus said as he felt Delphinus wrap her arms around his neck tightly. "There is nothing to be afraid of. We will not harm you." he said as he shifted her around so she could look at everyone. "Introduce yourselves."

For a moment no one moved, thinking if they should do what they were asked. Shrugging his shoulders, Bee walked forward and held out his servo. "Name's Bumblebee, but you can just call me Bee." A bit shocked to hear how his voice sounded, Delphinus slowly reached out her servo and took Bee's. "H-hi." she said and behind his face guard Bee smiled.

"My name's Bulkhead, but everyone just calls me Bulk." the large green mech said as he came over and waved his servo. "uh... sorry about wanting to shoot you." Not really sure what he meant by shoot, Delphinus nodded. Looking over at the blue femme, Delphinus stared for a moment before waving her servo at her. "Y-your name?" she asked but Arcee only looked away. "That would be Arcee." Ratchet replied from his computers. "Give her some time and she'll warm up to you."

Nodding her helm, Delphinus looked over at the humans who were standing on the platform. "Y-you?" she asked. "Jack, and this is Miko and Raf." Jack replied as he pointed to his friends. "Hi." Raf said as he gave a small wave, which Delphinus returned. "Hey Del!" Miko shouted as she smiled up at the femme. Smiling back, Delphinus couldn't help but like the energy this little thing had. It reminded her of the animals she lived with, who always wanted to play and swim around.

Looking over at the computers, Delphinus watched how Ratchet skimmed through files he was working on and things that were needed to be sent out. Pointing over at the mech and computers, Delphinus watched as Optimus smiled and walked over to them. "These are computers. Something that I guess you never seen before." The Prime said as he stood next to Ratchet and allowed Delphinus to tap her digits on the keys.

"Careful now," Ratchet said as he batted her servo away. "I need to finish working on these." Taking her servo back, Delphinus seemed puzzled at how this mech wanted to work more than talk. "So what are we going to do about her... mobility problem?" Arcee asked, finally coming out from her corner. "The wheelchair idea still stands, we just need the time and equipment to build it." Optimus said as he turned to face everyone. "Well, I can help in the building it part." Bulkhead said and Optimus nodded. "I will talk with Agent Fowler about having some metals brought to us."

Finding this talk boring, Delphinus looked back at the little humans who were still looking up at her. "So... what's it like? Living in the ocean?" Raf asked as he stepped closer to the railing to talk to Delphinus. "... C-cool... calm... w-wet." Delphinus said, trying to find words that would best describe her home. "Go figure." Jack said with a smile. "What did you do for fun? To pass the time I mean?" Thinking on it, Delphinus remembered times where she would be with her pod of dolphins just swimming tracks around the island they called home and how they would find a large sponge and bounce it around form one to the other.

"P-play with... f-family." Delphinus said and that brought everyone in hearing range to listen in. "Family? Are there others like you?" Miko asked, full attention to the femme. "No... family smaller... like one's on s-screen." Delphinus said as she pointed to the computers. "I think she means the dolphins." Bee said, and Delphinus nodded. "My f-family."

"Dolphin pods are just one big family after all." Ratchet said, finally taking his optics away from the computers. "It's only logical that she was adopted into the pod and treated like one of them." Agreeing with that idea, Optimus looked at Delphinus who was occupying herself by giving the room a look over. "Perhaps it is best if you get some rest now." The Prime offered and Delphinus nodded slowly as her optics slowly began to close. Turning to leave, Optimus watched how everyone still had their gaze locked in on the strange femme, who was now very close to falling asleep in his arms.

Walking down the hall, Optimus took notice how Delphinus' tail fin slowly wrapped around his arm. The feather like end of her fin brushed up against his side and felt just like they looked, smooth and light as a feather. As Optimus reached the med-bay, he placed Delphinus down on the berth and watched how she curled up into a tight ball with her fin acting as a small blanket. Waiting a minute to make sure she was sleeping, Optimus reached his servo out and ran it over one of the strands that made up her fin.

Their were small, but noticeable, veins running through them. Transferring energon that was in her body, but giving off this light glow. It was one thing after another that made this femme so strange, Optimus thought as he took his servo back. Thinking about it, Optimus wondered how she managed to find energon in the earth's oceans? Maybe there was a large amount of it down there that even the Decepticon scanners couldn't find. Or maybe she had found a way to run on something else besides energon.

Optimus could only speculate on how she survived down below the dark waters. Turning to leave, Optimus gave one final glance at the femme who was sleeping quietly before exiting through the door and closing it without a sound.

OoOoOoOoOo

Everyone was at a stalemate. Everyone was voicing their opinions about Delphinus, and no two were alike. Bulkhead had said that he thought she was a cute little femme, reminding him of this one he had seen back on Cybertron so long ago. Miko had said she was pretty witched awesome, and had hopes that she could take her out to the ocean and get a ride. Bee stated that she was strange looking but interesting and wanted to get to know her more. Raf agreed with his guardian but he was more into asking questions to fill his curiosity. Jack had pointed out that she seemed nice and acted like his seven year old cousin, quiet and calm. But out of everyone's thoughts and ideas, Arcee's was the most... flamboyant.

"I don't trust her." She quickly stated. "There's something about her that screams danger. How could we not have know she was out there? Why didn't her energon signature come up?" Thinking on the femme's questions, Ratchet typed something into the computers and was quickly given answers. "The oceans are very deep Arcee. Possibly the pressure there blocked her signal enough to where it wouldn't come up." Ratchet said as he read through the report. "Or maybe the waters themselves block her all together." Not really liking the answers she got, Arcee gave a huff and lean back on a wall. "That doesn't explain how she looks like she does. Last I checked, Cybertronians don't have tails or fins Ratchet."

"That is still a mystery, yes Arcee, but if I study her maybe I can find that answer." Ratchet said as he turned to the computers to read what he did scan Delphinus over. "I still don't trust her." Arcee said, and to her she believed she never would. "Give her a chance Arcee." Jack said as he stood up from the couch. "Who knows, she might save your life one day." Completely ignoring her partner's remark, Arcee walked over to the base exit. "I'm going for a drive." And like that, she transformed and drove out with no other response.

"Wonder why her guard is up? Del hasn't done anything wrong... yet." Bee said as and Bulkhead nodded. "Who knows. Arcee's guard is always high." Thinking on it, everyone could agree that Arcee was keeping her distance from Delphinus a bit too much but they all chalked it up as Arcee's past getting the best of her.

"And Arcee has the right to have a high guard." Optimus said as he joined the team as he came out of the hall way. "She's asleep?" Ratchet asked. "She is." Optimus responded. "Good," Ratchet said as he moved away from the computers. "I need to run some more tests and with her sleeping it makes it easier for me." As the old medic made his way down the hall and to the med-bay, Optimus watched how Ratchet seemed grumpy by doing this. But he could never recall when the medic was never grumpy over doing tests.

So now what Optimus?" Bulkhead asked. "We call Agent Fowler and ask him to bring over some large metals to build Delphinus a wheelchair." The Prime said as he walked over to the computers and did just that. As he called the agent, Jack looked down the hallway with a high interest. "just when I thought things couldn't get any weird for me." he thought to himself but stopped when he felt something tug on his sleeve. Looking down at it, Jack saw that it was Raf who was pulling at him. "It's getting late, Jack. Do you think your mom can drive me home? My parents are starting to wonder why I'm staying out so late." Raf asked and Jack nodded. "Sure thing Raf. Think you can give us a ride to my house Bee?"

Buzzing happily, Bumblebee transformed to his car mode and opened his doors for everyone. "Come on Miko. We have school tomorrow." Jack said as he and Raf walked over to Bee. "Awe! I wanna stay and wait to see Del again!" she whined but stopped when Bulkhead scooped her up into his servo and placed her next to Jack. "Go on Miko, I will pick you up at school tomorrow." he said but when Miko opened her mouth he answered her question he knew she was going to ask. "I'm staying here to talk to Fowler. He will need to tell his superiors who is building this wheelchair."

Giving off a irritated huff, Miko crossed her arms and took a seat in the passengers side since Jack was already in the Drivers. As Bee drove them home, Optimus finally managed to get a hold of Fowler and he didn't appear to be happy. "Prime, did you find what attacked the ships?" he asked up front. "Yes Agent Fowler, we did. But we think it was only protecting it territory." Optimus said as he wanted to break the news of Delphinus slowly. "yeah right, and I think Uncle Sam's beard is string cheese. That beast attacked with no reason and nearly killed some men." Fowler shouted.

"You don't know that." Bulkhead said as he joined Optimus in view of the agent. "And you do Big Guy?" Agent Fowler asked, a very visible smirk on his face. "We do." Optimus said, knowing if he let these two go at it nothing would get done. "We have the... creature here with us." At hearing this, Fowler shouted a few choice words at the Prime, mostly around the lines of why would he keep such a monster at base and he would have his aft for not telling him right away. "It is not what you think Agent Fowler." Optimus said as he tried not to shout at the human. "The creature that attacked those people was Cybertonian."

At hearing that, Fowler shut up and looked at the Prime in shock. "You're kidding right?" he asked but Bulk shook his helm. "I wish he was. I can handle monsters and stuff but a femme is another story." Looking at the green bot, Fowler turned back to Optimus. "Femme? This thing is a girl?" Nodding his helm, Optimus looked over to the hallway. "She is. And she has... a problem."

"What kind of problem?" Agent Fowler asked. "One where she needs a new means of transportation." Optimus said and Fowler nodded. "Does she need to scan over something?" he asked but Optimus shook his helm. "No, we believe she is unable to do that. What we need is some large pieces of metal you can offer us." At hearing this, Fowler looked at the Prime is confusion. "Metal? Why metal?"

"I can build her a wheelchair. Help her move around base better." Bulkhead said and Fowler nodded. "I see... I can talk to a few people, get you what you need, but I want to see who this girl is first." Optimus nodded. "Of course Agent Fowler." The Prime said and Fowler nodded back. "Good. I'll stop by in a few days to drop off the metals then I can meet this kid."

"Delphinus." Bulk added. "That's her name Delphinus." Shrugging his shoulders, Fowler nodded. "Whatever. Talk to you later, Prime." and then the line was cut off. Looking at the green mech, Optimus didn't know what to do next. "I guess I will go into recharge. Night Optimus." Bulkhead finally said after a bit of silence. "Good night Bulkhead." Optimus said as the mech walked away and left him alone.

OoOoOoOoOo

The med-bay was relatively quiet. Only the soft hum of the machines working on as they scanned over Delphinus were going on. Ratchet stood next to the machines making sure the scanned properly and read over what they found.

The machines had found out that Delphinus did indeed still need energon in her system but with her body being in the water for so long that she had adapted to also living off of other small marine life, fish and such. But she only needed small amounts, her energon intake was so low but it had adapted to save ever last drop.

Ratchet had also found out how long she had been in the water and in a sense how long she had been on earth. Her body may be small but that was only for the reason that she had been in a near weightless environment, but her spark did not lie. The pressure that was on her spark left an ever lasting mark on it. Calculating the damage, Ratchet had rounded that Delphinus had been on earth for over a time period of 12 years.

"So, you were here long before we were." Ratchet said to himself as he ended his scans. Ratchet and the rest of the Autobot had only been here for a short time on earth, seven year to be exact. So Delphinus had been under their pedes the whole time and they never even knew it. Feeling a bit stupid for not finding her sooner, Ratchet walked over to the computers to type in his findings and while he did this he thought.

Ratchet had also found out how old Delphinus was, and it had shocked him. She was actually as old as Optimus was, and if you were use human age as a reference they were both around the ages of 25 to 30. But she looked so young and no records of her were known so it puzzled Ratchet. Half of his puzzling was answered though, she looked so young because of her life in the water. But as to the one where she was unknown to the Cybertronian records was still a mystery.

As he continued to type in his report, he heard a loud bang that startled him. Looking behind him, Ratchet saw that Delphinus was now on the floor and holding herself up on one arm while the other rubbed her helm. Sighing loudly, Ratchet walked over to her and helped her back up on the berth. "You need to be careful." Ratchet battered and Delphinus only shook her helm. "Not used to sleeping like this." she said as she rubbed her optics. Curiosity got the best of Ratchet, as he asked her what she meant by that. "I used to sleep on the beach back home." Delphinus said.

"I see." Ratchet said a bit bewildered at hearing this. He had thought she would have slept in the water or sleep like a dolphin does by shutting off half their brain and using the other half to stay awake. "Anything hurt?" Ratchet asked, as he noticed how Delphinus kept rubbing her chest. "My... spark I think it is called, hurts." Delphinus said, still trying to get used to this new knowledge that had been uploaded into her mind.

Nodding his helm, Ratchet used his own scanner and scanned over Delphinus' chest and found out some more interesting news. Her fall may have been small and meaningless, but to her spark it meant a big thing. Being under water pressure for so long, it had made Delphinus' spark and its chamber weak. So any small damage her spark chamber received was pushed onto her spark tenfold. "You need to be more careful. Your spark isn't as highly protected as ours is." Ratchet said as moved Delphinus' servo away and began to rub her chest in a circular motion.

As soon as Ratchet started, Delphinus could feel the difference. His rubbing was soothing the pain she felt and soon it was no more. Taking his servo back, Ratchet looked at Delphinus to see her smiling at him. "Thank you, Ratchet." she said and even the hard medic couldn't help but smile back. "You're welcome." He said as he began to push her back down. "Go back to recharge." He said and Delphinus didn't think twice as she closed her optics and soon was back to sleep.

Watching the femme go back to sleep, Ratchet sighed to himself as he walked out of the med-bay. He needed to talk to Optimus about also making Delphinus some armor. If she was going to stay here, she needed more protection until her spark adjusted to the pressure of being on land...

if it ever did that is.
