A/N: I am so sorry for taking so long. I was having a hard time thinking what to write. I had the first couple paragraphs written out months ago but just couldn't figure out what to do next. I can only say that I will strive to be more prompt with the next update.

A/N2: For those wondering why everyone seems to know that Percy is pregnant after only 1 day, it's simple: They have Dionysus there and I doubt that he wouldn't be able to spot it, for all that he isn't the god of medicine or prospective mothers. Plus there was all of Apollo's kids there and I bet Chiron would be able to smell the difference. Can't live for thousands of years and not develop a strong nose.

A/N3: I apologize for the size, but this chapter became a filler and fillers in my mind don't get to be as long as the regulars.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Estranged Hero

Who Respects Who

The pit was dark when Percy opened her eyes. She looked around wildly, expecting one of her 'father's' servants to come bursting through the door and start ordering her around. But happened was something else altogether.

What could have only been a small hand knocked on her door before letting themselves in, then walked over to the bed and uncovered a lamp filled with glowing seaweed, lighting up the room.

The phosphorescent weed revealed the face of Aethra. Not knowing who she was, Percy flinched back in fear. But the Sea Goddess pressed forward, reaching out across the bed to push some hair out of her face.

"You are such a beautiful child. It is hard to imagine that Poseidon is your father and not Oceanus."

Percy, still afraid and not knowing where she was, simply nodded, although some fear still shone through her eyes. Aethra smiled softly and turned to face the far wall that Percy only just now noticed.

It turned out it wasn't even really a wall, more like one very large window that looked out over the domain of the Titan Oceanus. Still unsure on what to do, she let Aethra guide her to the window/wall and wrap her arm around Persephone's shoulder.

Whatever she had been expecting, it surely wasn't this: before her lay a sprawling city, and even from her vantage point could see people( or rather denizens of the deep) go about their lives in a manner not unlike the ancient Greeks.

While she was looking out the window, Percy failed to notice Aethra back away until minutes later she felt a hand on her shoulder prompting her to turn around to see who it was. She was met with the smiling face of the daughter of Oceanus that filled her with a strange sense of foreboding.

It was when her eyes registered that she was holding a Greek-style dress that she knew she wasn't going to like what was coming next. Percy tried her best but ultimately failed to convince Aethra not to have her wear the dress, and so now they were walking to meet the Titan of the Ocean himself, her wearing said dress.

As they floated down the halls of Oceanus' palace, denizens of the deep bowed to Aethra, and, although some hid it, scowled at Percy, obviously smelling her divine blood as she went past.

"Ignore them," the Sea Goddess whispered to her, "Soon they will be showing you the respect you deserve."

A few moments later, they arrived at the throne room. Motioning to the sharkmen guarding the doors, they were let in, the doors pulled closed behind them.

Walking toward the titan at the other end of the room, Percy couldn't help but gaze in wonder at the coral pillars, taking in the sea urchins and other aquatic lifeforms that had been allowed to dwell in Oceanus' home.

With a prod Percy was removed from her thoughts and quickened her pace. But a moment later Aethra pulled her to a stop and motioned for her to kneel alongside her as she went to her knees as well but was stopped when Oceanus himself said otherwise.

"No child of Poseidon will ever bow before me. Not, at least, before the child does so himself. And besides, Kronos has decreed that you are to be treated as if your his own child, and no child of time bends their knee to me."

And then, after motioning to his daughter to rise, he returned to his throne, where Oceanus then called forth a sphere of something that Percy had never seen before. But it wasn't the sphere that grabbed her attention mere seconds after it appeared, it was the face that appeared in the globe. Now, having never seen images of him, she had no idea what he looked like, but when he caught sight of her, all doubt was erased when his face that was frowning turned into a soft smile as his golden eyes surveyed his granddaughter.

"Persephone, it is good to finally see you, and away from that rebellious child of mine as well, very good indeed." That his eyes only reflected warmth showed her more than anything else that he was sincere in his greeting. "I look forward to seeing you in person, granddaughter, but for now I have other matters to attend to and you have a long day ahead of you. Blood of my blood, do not fear the dwellers of the sea, they will not harm you lest they face my displeasure, and your time there will be far too short for them to make any attempts in any case."

At her questioning glance, he went on to say, "All will be explained when we meet in person, but until that time, I ask that you be patient. My son is not so foolish as to attack Oceanus when he is in his stronghold, but I doubt he would leave the chasm unwatched, if only to makes sure that you aren't delivered to me."

Before he continued though, his eyes, while looking, had become drawn downward. His eyes turned to steel as he bellowed, "Why was I not informed she was pregnant?"

To say that Percy was embarrassed would be like saying that Zeus liked the spotlight. The awkward silence hung like a cloud over the throne room, and even Oceanus seemed affected as he shifted nervously in his seat, decidedly not meeting his lord's accusing eyes. Aethra giggled behind her hand.

After several minutes passed, Kronos apparently decided he was tired of waiting and said he would see her soon, and declared that he would be kept informed of any situations that occurred involving her or else. . .

The hanging threat seemed to do the trick as Oceanus nodded quickly and the image sphere disappeared.

Several days passed beneath the sea, and it was only with the arrival of Aethra telling her it was time to go that Percy hugged her around the waist and sobbed tears of joy. It was when she stepped foot on dry land that she was tackled by a very happy Luke, although the moment was short-lived as her grandfather sensed a link between them and upon looking back, snarled.

So there he was, towering over his demigod minion, his eyes blazing, "So," he began lowly, "It was you who took my granddaughter's virginity."

The gulp was audible for miles.

So, tell me what you think. Until next time, guys! ^_^
