(Two Months Later)

(Royal Infirmary Room)

I don't understand.

This can't be happening.

Luna's has gotten real sick. The doctors are trying their best to cure her before the illness can affect our child, but Luna hasn't improved much from yesterday and the day before, which is when she collapsed into her fever. I've contacted all of our friends on Mobius about Luna's condition and have updated them every five hours or when someone asks. Also, Sonic and Amy said they were coming with something that could help, but they haven't arrived yet. They're an hour late and I don't know what I should do besides being at her side in the infirmary room with her as she breathes shakily and grasps my hand weakly.

With this in mind, the tears begin to fall now, catching Luna's attention. She tries to tighten her grip on my hand, but a gasp for air soon comes. Choking up, I shake my head. "Save your strength, honey. You…You have to…"

"I…I know. I'm just…"

"Scared? Same here…probably more than you are matter of fact." I mumble out, wiping my tears away when Luna's eyes sink in depression. I crack up a fake smile. Luna breathes shakily. "Don't fake it…"

"I know. I just thought making a smile would make you feel a bit better. That's all." I mumble again, the tears returning to my drenched cheeks. Luna cracks a real smile. "Thanks…Where's…Sonic? He said…"

"I don't know, but just rest. I can check if you'd like." I say, even though I rather be at her side so both of us won't worry as much about each other. Luna turns her head to me. "I don't know if you…should honey…It's…your choice."

"I'm not. I'll put my trust in them. Let's just hope to the moon and back that they'll arrive soon." I whisper under my breath. At that moment, the door opens. Lifting my head, Luna and I see Sonic and Amy, as well as Tails coming in. Amy's eyes are puffy with tears. Luna closes her eyes.

"Amy…"

"I'm fine, Luna. We're here and Sonic has got the cure."

"You sure?" Luna and I ask in unison. Tails nods, looking at Sonic. "The doctors gave us some of your infected blood, Luna and we tried something on it and it went away pretty fast, but we need Luna's consent though."

"What do you mean "consent", Tails?! She's dying! Give her the damn thing already!" I boom, grabbing the cure, which is inside a box, from Sonic's hands. I flip open the top. My eyes widen at the sight; at the glow.

Two Chaos Emeralds, orange and white sit in the box, their glow flickering. I lift my head to Sonic and turn my attention to Tails. Tears stream down my face.

"You…came all this way with these? Don't you know how dangerous this was?" I ask in a choky voice. Sonic nods. "Yeah, but we're brave right? No need to worry." Sonic replies. Tails grabs the Chaos Emeralds and walks to Luna's side on the opposite side from where I sit. He kneels down.

"Luna. I know you want to feel better, but I also remember you telling me that you kind of want your blind eye to stay the way it is so your children can learn the lesson you've learned. Well…if you take these, your eye will be healed. This is your call, Luna." Tails whispers. Luna's eyes widen slightly and then sink.

"I…I don't know."

"Luna!" I shout out. Luna winces in pain from the volume of my voice. I shake my head. "Sorry. But Luna, you're dying. I can't live without you. You know what might happen to me if you and our baby pass away. And why are you so keen on keeping the eye the way it is for our children? They will trust you on what happened even if your eye is healed."

"And wouldn't you want to see your children with both eyes?" Amy chimes in, wiping away her tears with a tissue. Luna, hearing our pleas, slowly and shakily reaches for the Emeralds. I walk to her side and reach for them too, but Tails pulls them away. I open my mouth to argue, but he shakes his head without a word out of his mouth. I bite my lip, returning my attention to Luna, who, at that moment, touches both Emeralds with one hand.

At that instant, Luna's body begins to glow light orange, both the white and orange colored Emeralds' powers seeping into her whole body. Some of the light also shows itself going down to our child. When it touches our baby, his/her silhouette appears for a second. My eyes widen at the sight, my brain processing not our baby's sex, but his/her species.

A jackal. Tails must have seen it too as he places his hand on my shoulder and nods with a big, rather proud smile. The Chaos Emerald's light soon brightens into a mighty flash, making everyone shield their eyes. The light orange light soon fades away. Lowering my arm, Luna soon cries out in pain. She grabs my arm quickly, her grip very tight while her other hand on her chest. She looks at me with healthy eyes for a second before closing them tightly.

"Get the nurses! The baby's coming!" She screams, plopping down onto her back. I turn to Sonic, who speeds off for a couple of seconds before returning with the nurses, who ready themselves as Luna begins to push. I slap my mouth with a hand, nausea hitting me as the birthing process begins. Sonic, on the other hand, nearly passes out from the process with Amy catching him when he nearly fell to the floor. Luna then screams out, her grip making my arm pop. I jerk a bit, my eyes shut tight from the pain until a tiny cry comes out. Eyes now open, I turn to the nurses who soon scurry away, announcing that they'll clean our child up real fast.

"Honey…I…I did it!" She gasps happily, staring at me. She then shows me a quivering smile. "You're…so handsome. Maybe…it was right to heal my eye." She whispers. The nurse soon comes back in with our baby, swaddled in a blue blanket. Luna reaches her arms out, taking our son into her arms. He opens his yellow eyes and curiously stares at me and Luna. Luna begins to cry.

"He's beautiful, Infinite! He looks just like you! He even has some white dreads!" She hiccups. I chuckle. "Sure does. I can't believe he's here…" I whisper. She sniffles before returning her attention to our son and smiles, wiping her tears away. "Now, what should we name you?" She giggles, looking at me for an answer. I shrug my shoulders. "I thought you had it."

"I do."

"What is it?"

"Wyatt. Wyatt the Jackal." She hums out. I nod, agreeing to the name. That's when we turn our attention to Wyatt. Luna cradles him, turning him to me a bit more.

"Hi Wyatt sweetie. I'm your mommy, Luna, and this is your daddy Infinite. It's so nice to finally meet you!" She huffs out. I nod. "It sure is…and son, I'm so happy to say this now...Wyatt…I love you."

"So do I, Wyatt. We both do…and we always will."
