Chapter Three: Hear Me Part 2

POV Alice:

Looking all over the school for Sharleen, I became exhausted and had to take a breather by the hallway window. Feeling the cold window glass as my hand rest on top of it, opening the latch I lift up the window. My face was embraced by the wind. I don't know what made me think I could catch up with a vampire, knowing that they are very fast agility. I have no idea where she is? I don't even know where I am. Realizing that I am now lost somewhere in the school, I thought about heading back where I came from and leave Sharleen alone. I know Shun and the others are probably worried. But i'm also worried about Sharleen, I cant find myself leaving her alone crying to herself anymore. Especially with the voices in my head... Sharleen sounded so alone... Checking my phone I see I have over thirty missed calls and text messages from everyone. Noticing the time class will be starting soon. I don't want to give up, I have to find her. The wind blowing against my hair again, mmm… this feels nice.

"Sotto kuchidzuketai shimetsukeru omoi ni kidzuite." Who's that singing? I thought to myself. Looking around me I don't see no one in sight."Koi ga akaku fukaku yoru wo someteku." It's coming from outside. But where? Looking down the ground level to see if someone is below where my window was on whatever this side of the school building was. 'Kohaku...'

Sharleen!? She's on the roof! I can hear her! I ran up the next stairway heading towards the roof entrance. Let me hear your voice Sharleen... im almost their...

Making it up the long flight of stairs, when I opened the door I saw Sharleen. I guess hearing the door open startled her, when I saw her face I knew she was crying. Eyes puffy and red, cheeks stained with tears, her blue eyes showed all her emotions. She is at her most vulnerable moment, "Sharleen."

"You're that girl from the cafeteria... What the hell do you want?! Haven't you heard of privacy?" Sharleen voiced crack from all the sobbing she did.

"… I heard you singing… it was beautiful… does it have a name?"

"No" Sharleen said sternly. "Now leave me alone... please..." Her eyes was watering again. Turning her back to me facing the roof high wired fence.

"I don't mean to be a pest... Can I hear more of your song Sharleen? Please... I would like to hear more of it..." I pleaded with her.

POV Sharleen:

Taking a deep breath I looked at the clear blue skies and took it all in.

Normal POV:

Alice listening to the lyrics and the way she sings the song. Was mystical… absolutely beautiful. But the song doesn't sounds so sad, Alice figured it must had an up beat tone to it once. But why was she singing it as a sad melody? "Gorgeous... I really do mean it Sharleen. Why does it sound… so sad?" Alice questioned.

"Maybe it's a sad song." Sharleen snorted.

"It doesn't to me. It sounds more like an up beat then a sad slow melody."

"Hmp, what are you? A music expert or something?"

"I guess you can say that (softly giggles) I love to sing, I can even write my own lyrics to a song." Alice smiled gently.

"Me too..." Sharleen facial expression changed from sadness to anger in a matter of seconds. "I knew someone was following me... I didn't expect it to be you... you heard me sing now leave. You don't know a damn thing about me... I just want to be alone." I stayed silent to let her finish. "Why? I don't get it... I didn't even want to come to this damn school... I didn't even what to go to a school for demons either... but it was either be killed by a demon who has a grudge against vampreies. Or my lateral, coming to a human school and be isolated."

"Im not like those other students at the cafeteria... and neither are my friends. You can hang out with us if you want to..." Alice negotiated.

"Why?" Why are you helping me and being nice? Don't you realize that im a vampire? I drink human blood! Don't that disgust you?" Reading Alice face reaction.

"You give off a strange aura… how I should say this… uh…" What would Shun say? This is weird. I'm lost for words.

"If you have something to say then say it; if not leave." Turning her back on Alice again. "Uh…" Alice stump on the right words to say.

"Forget it…" Sharleen sighed, "just go to class the bell will ring in five minutes." She said, leaning her body against the fence looking back up at the blue sky.

"Let my pressing thought let you know, I want to kiss you so softly. Love is tainting the night deeply in scarlet." Blue eyes stunned with confusion.

I've got her attention. Alice closed her eyes with the wind blowing across her face. Hair blowing in the wind Alice looked like a descending angel in a school uniform.

The side of your face shone by the moonlight
Turns back with a probing gaze

It repeats on many nights
exchanging our feelings even from afar

With a passionate desire, hold me to your chest and kiss my neck
Our sweet, trembling emotions will last forever
Tease my lips to this aching feeling you had touched with your fingers
And whisper with a gentle voice full of affection

Alice reopening her eyes, seeing Sharleen with a rather unusual expression. "You only heard the song once... And was able to sing it perfectly... in a different language. That's amazing..." Sharleen marveled at Alice performance.

"It's not that hard to remember a song" Alice dismissing she did anything special.

" Your voice... so beautiful... like an angel. And you said mines was beautiful... its nothing compared to your voice... Now I know you're making fun of me..." Sharleen expression now became depressed.

"That's not true!" Sharleen walked up to Alice face. Alice flinched as she started yelling at her face, "Stop lying! Why are you even around me!? Look me in the eyes and tell me the truth! Im tired of being lied to by humans, your conniving race... That's all their is to humans... Lies and betrayal... Nothing good comes from you people at all! Just go away and leave me the hell alone... Don't you understand? ALONE!"

"I can't Sharleen!" Yelling back at Sharleen face, "pretending that you're not in pain… I can't let myself leave you alone..."

"What makes you think I'm in pain!?"

"Because… because I can read your mind. I don't know how it happen... or even why I can. But it's truth. That's why im hear... your voice... It was calling out for attention!" Alice stood her ground.

Sharleen started clenching her fist. "That's… Bullshit! Complete Bullshit! Don't make a fool out of me!" Moving away from Alice face. She stomped her feet on the ground, making the whole school tremble. What strength... Alice thought.

"Don't give me… no bullshit ass speech! I hate fucking know it all's! You think you can give me some nice, sweet words? Fuck you! I don't need you! I've been alone all my life! Anyone who dares come near me… leaves in the end! I don't need you. Or him. SO LEAVE ME ALONE!" Sharleen screamed at the top of her lungs.

"NO!" Alice screamed back. Running to Sharleen she wrapped her arms around her, surprising herself and Sharleen in the process. "I won't… I won't… LET YOU DESTORY YOURSELF!" Alice felt Sharleen body tense. "I know your hurt… like I said I can read minds... your mind… I can hear you calling out his name... Kohaku I believe right...? He was an important friend right?" Sharleen body began to shake.

"He… wasn't just a friend…"

"Your right. You loved him… or more like you loved each other..." Alice could hear soft sobs coming from the young vampire.

"You ask too many questions." She pushed Alice softly away.

"Please Sharleen don't push me away... I'm sorry... I don't mean to pry into your mind, heart or personal life. Including if its a touchy subject. But I want to help... your voice just wont leave my head and I don't know what else to do about it..." Alice admit her problems to the still sobbing Sharleen.

"He… Kohaku… I mean… us… (now starting to cry) we were a couple..."

"That sounds like a past sentence? What happened between you two?"

"(Trying to stop the tears) we can never see each other again..."

"Why? You two wasn't accepted as a couple?"

"No. We can no longer be together… because he is a human. His mother took him away from me! She… she killed her own son! She… was the worst… the worst kind… she took him away from me... she killed him in cold blood! Her aim was towards me... It's all my fault! Kohaku is dead! She… she… (Bursting out crying) AHHHH!" She felled on her knees crying out in pain. With Alice still having a hold on Sharleen she followed suit as she was still holding the vulnerable vampire. Kohaku... What is you and Sharleen story?
