AN: Klaus and Marcel run NOLA together and they have it all settled. The had some minor problems but in the end they made up like Mikaelsons do. Also this is going off Canon. I don't really wanna have to rewatch the tragedy that is The Originals. I will however play on some of the ideas from TVD for up coming seasons.

"I hate you Niklaus Mikaelson" Caroline screamed chucking Stefan's phone against the wall before falling to her knees a sob escaping her throat.

"Care?" Stefan questions standing up and walking towards her

"I just thought maybe he might love me. I mean I know I am narcotic and annoying at times, but he seemed to find that endearing" She sniffles "When in actuality he was just bored, he just wanted to chase me"

"Shh, it's okay Caroline" Stefan hugs her

"Am I really that hard to love?" she whimpers "Am I so damn unlovable or am I just so desperate to find acceptance that I could naïvely believe that someone like Klaus to love me"

"It's the exact opposite, sunshine" Enzo gives her a small tight lipped smile "I think you are hard not to love"

"How can you say that? I am never anyone's first choice" She shakes her head "I'm sorry Stefan, but even you chose Elena over me, I did have Tyler for a while but then the wolves became more important. So when Klaus made me think I was special, that maybe he might like me, dare I say love. I thought maybe I did melt his dark heart"

"Look who needs the Hybrid, men are Jackasses" Enzo comments causing a small smile from Caroline "There is the smile that brings us sunshine"

"Thank you Enzo" She smiles through the tears

"This is awkward" Stefan whispers

"Look I understand you just had your heart-broken, and I still need to find Maggie so I hope we can be friends." Enzo smiles as Caroline nods "And maybe after we mend our hearts we can see where this goes"

"Ass" Caroline rolls her eyes as her two best friends of late help wipe away her tears.

"See what did I tell you hmm? Men are jackasses, we really only have enough blood to think with one head at once" Enzo wiggles his eyebrows "And the way you look in those jeans is making it hard to use the one with the brain"

"Gross" Caroline smacks his chest and giggles a bit "Can I sleep here with you tonight Stef?" she asks

"Anything you need Care" the lighter haired man says kissing her on the forehead and lifting her in his arms to carry off to bed as she yawns

"Hey put me down" she mumbles sleepily

"Take this while you can. you're heart broken so you get the special treatment" he hugs her closely "You're my best friend Caroline. And you deserve the world"

"I love you Stefan" she tells him "Not in the same way I loved Tyler or Matt"

she hardly gets the second part out before Stefan says "Youre my family now Care" as he lays her down on a bed

"As are you" she leans up giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Good night"

Enzo soon finds Maggie. She had died in the 60s. November 8th, 1960, to be exact. She had her head ripped off her body leading Enzo to believe that Stefan had killed her. Of course Caroline had no idea any of this was happening and she was off clearing her life of Klaus for good and ignoring all of Damon's calls.

Enzo soon learned that Damon had killed Maggie James, though he didn't know it was his Maggie. He was just trying to keep himself and his brother safe. So he killed her and since he was still upset with Stefan for not noticing that he was locked up for five years he made it look like Stefan went ripper and killed her.

It all ended up with Enzo dead. Caroline never found out. Well she did but it was a little late after he was already dead and attacking them all.

As Caroline sat at her dad's lake house she rested her back against the wall and started speaking in to the air "You know it's weird being here again. After he died I stayed away from this place for so long because it made me remember the fact he was dead and no longer in my life." She sighs "I don't know if you can hear me, but I am kind of pissed you burned down my dad's shed, but thanks for not burning down the house. Now that I remember it is here, I think this might be my new getaway"

The blonde feels someone take a hold of her hand and a presence next to her "You helped me get over Klaus, I am going to help you mourn Maggie. And I will bring you back Enzo. I promise."

Just as she gets up to leave her phone beeps. looking at it she sees it's from Klaus and decides to ignore it. Nothing good can come from that.

It had been five months since the phone call with Klaus and a lot had happened. A guy named Markos had come back from the dead to rule the Travelers and wipe out all vampires. Though of course he failed, like everyone else that had come, Honestly Caroline is still baffled by how many times they had actually foiled the plans of the people that had tried to kill them all. And after a few well placed threats a Gemini witch named Liv had brought Enzo back and took care of the travellers.

Caroline had actually started to get back to herself again. She was going to college like a normal human and she had become great friends with Enzo. She even got a job as a tutor and started renting an apartment between Mystic Falls and Whitemore. She was pretty over Klaus, well that's what she told herself atleast. Even though she still got phone calls from him every now and again. she just ignored them and left the voice mails unlistened to.

Enzo's life was looking up as well. He had told Damon that he could forgive him for Maggie's death but they could no longer be friends. He traded his former best friend in for the better and more beautiful option of best friends. He had even talked her in to taking trips with him to places she had never seen before. Her only thing was that they could never ever visit France, Italy, or Japan. Which he was okay with, because he had a feeling it had to do with the man they no longer speak about.

Caroline's phone beeps again and Enzo takes it from her "You have 15 messages sunshine"

"Yeah it's him" She shakes her head "The first one came right after you attacked my lake house"

"Are you going to listen to them?" he asks politely

"I'm afraid that if I hear his voice again that I might crumble" She admits

"You'll never know until you try love" He shrug pressing play on the first one

"Hello Caroline. I wanted to tell you that I didn't mean it and I came to the realization that I may have just lost you. And I truly hope that maybe in a century you will find it in your heart to forgive me. When I first say you that day with Tyler I felt the pull between the two of us. So I thought the answer was to have him bite you but seeing you there dying. I felt something inside myself and I didn't even know you yet. Just please call me"

Caroline's mind goes numb and she freezes listening to the next one. Knowing the tears are about to come raining. She is actually quite happy she's at her house and not in public because all the strength she had managed to gain over the past few months had just come tumbling down.

AN: so I ended the chapter 5 months later with Caroline knowing she has unlistened to messages from Klaus. Next chapter I will show Klaus' POV but I think I'm going to keep them apart for a bit jumping around showing the progression of everything.
