Luigi's Obsession

Chapter 3: Comatose

"Doctor, I haven't seen anything like this. I will have to do my research and get back with you." The technician explained.

Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy are all frantically pacing through the waiting room, waiting for the Monstro Land princesses' results.

"This is taking ENTIRELY too long!" exclaimed Daisy. Just as Daisy said that, Dr. Pawn came through the doorway.

"I greatly apologize for the long wait." Dr. Pawn bowed as he spoke. "This MRI was particularly hard to read at first. However, my nurses and practitioners have analyzed the meaning of this reading. Please follow me to the princesses' room." Then the doctor turned around, and everyone was immediately on his back. The anxiety was flowing.

"Are they going to be okay?" Luigi broke the silence after a couple of minutes of walking down the hallway. That was obviously the burning question floating in everyone's minds at this point.

"I will explain everything with this diagnosis." He calmly replied.

They walked into a different room than where they were previously. Inside, Maple and Plum were hooked up to IVs giving them medicine to combat their condition. Peach jumped when she saw them, but Mario reassured her that they should be okay. When they all had gathered in, the nurse got their attention.

"Good afternoon all, as you may have noticed, this board, showing a diagram of both of their brains, is glowing purple." The nurse pointed to the diagram. Peach sat there whimpering in Mario's arms. "This is Tatanga's radiation beam that went directly into their skulls." Daisy gasped upon hearing this. "It had come to my attention that our very own Princess Daisy has been shot with these very beams a few years before. So after studying them, I came to the conclusion that they impose no major health problems, except for one thing. Depending on these girls' moods, it could have adverse effects on their bodies. "Mario and Luigi knew exactly what the nurse was saying. They sat there shaking their heads in agreement. Daisy, however, was confused.

"What do you mean by adverse effects?" She questioned. Everyone who was conscious in the room stared back at her in amazement.

"Does she still think that crazy episode was a dream?!" Luigi thought.

"What? What's all you guys' problems?" She spoke defensively. "That was an honest to goodness question. Can someone please explain this to me?"

"Well-"Dr. Pawn was about to explain but was cut off by Mario.

"Don't worry about it Daisy. That just means that their bodies are going to change just a little bit. It's nothing more than when a child goes through puberty."

"Yeah, I don't remember many changes happening to my body. They must have only been subtle."

"Exactly"

After the nurse asked a few questions about Maple and Plum, who were still knocked out cold, the rest of the gang left, leaving the unconscious princesses at the hospital. Then they headed to Chai Town to spend time together.

"We should stop worrying about those two. They should be fine. Right?" Daisy broke the silence. "I mean, that's what you guys were saying earlier."

"Yes, Daisy, that is true. They should be fine." Mario replied while the others made faces of disbelief.

"Well, anyway… What does everyone want to do?" Luigi finally spoke up. He then starts scheming something. "I need to find something to do that will get me and Peach close. But what could we do?"

"How about we split up and go on dates with each other?" Peach suggested.

"Yeah! That's a great idea Peach!" Daisy exclaimed.

"How about we take turns?" Mario dropped in his idea. "Peach and I can go, and then I take Daisy afterwards. That way we can all spend some time with everyone."

"I'm down with it." Luigi agreed. "Wow, Peach and Mario read my mind. This is my lucky day!"

"Okay, let's spend one hour with each person. We will meet up at the castle to switch out. Is that fine with everyone?" Peach instructed. Everyone nodded. So Mario went with Peach, and Luigi took Daisy. Both couples went their separate directions.
