Rico and Shep arrived at Verdant just as the sun was setting, Verdant was the only place in town that served alcohol and it was run by an elusive Asari that was rarely seen by the public, a mean looking Elcor bouncer was stood outside towering over those that wanted to enter. Rico and Shep gave him a quick look over from what they could tell he must have been about 8 foot tall, all 4 of its thick legs where firmly planted in place and its pale grey completion made it difficult to make out any discerning facial features although all Elcor looked the same to Humans.
"Rico, how are we going to get in?"
Rico was letting his eyes run over the people outside of Verdant "That's the easy, do you remember that Asari that was trying to figure out if I'm capable of using biotic's?"
"You mean the one that the teacher caught you with in the school toilets?"
Shep smirked.
Rico glanced at Shep and smiled "Yes."
Shep noticed Rico's sly smile "I don't think anyone has ever seen a biotic's test being done from that angle before."
Rico laughed "Her mother owns the Verdant and she is going to get us in."
Shep was a bit confused "Can't Asari live to be over 1000 years old, just how old was she anyway?"
Rico let out a sigh "116…. Yes they can live to be more than 1000 years old; due to their culture her people still treat her like a kid." Rico started shaking his head, he knew what Shep was going to say next "There she is, let's go." Rico cut Shep of before he had a chance to make a joke.
The two young men ran around the side of the building, "Shado!" boomed Rico "How are you doing beautiful?"
When Shep saw Shado he couldn't believe how beautiful she was and ran his eyes up and down her body a few times, she was a little shorter the Shep and wore white leather clothes that showed off her curves, she had light blue skin, no hair that he could see, however she did have facial markings that looked like eyebrows and semi-flexible cartilage that grew in place of hair that reached from her forehead and stretched past the nape of her neck.
"When you asked me to get you in, I thought you were coming back for round two, I didn't realise you were bringing a friend." Shado glanced and Smiled at Shep.
Rico could feel Shep's eyes on him "We just graduated and wanted to celebrate, don't worry gorgeous I'll make time for you." He gave her a flirty wink.
Shado ran her hand over his arm "It's a good thing you're cute." Shado gestured to let them in though the side door.
Shado and Rico lead the way to the bar and Shep followed them. Shep started scanning the room there were a few Asari on the dance floor and a lot of different races spotted around the room and he started naming them as he went Turian, Salarian, Vorcha, Krogan and even a few Humans. As they got to the bar Shep turned to Shado "Busy night?"
Shado's eyes hadn't left Rico since they got to the bar "Don't be silly it, the real party doesn't start until the runners get back and they should be here soon." she leaned in and started kissing Rico's neck.
Shep rested on the bar "Runners?"
Shado came up for a breath "They're the guy's that work for the Scavenging Corps, they go outside the walls to look for tech that survived the war and clear the area so the walls can be expanded." She was caught by surprise when Rico swung his arm around her waist and pulled her in close "Should we go somewhere a little more private?"
"Hell yes." Rico's face lit up.
Shado started leading the way to a dimly light part of the room "Enjoy yourself Shep, drinks are on me."
Shep turned to the bar with a grin on his face and started running his eyes over the bar's collection of old Earth Whisky "Sometimes you just have to love the old ways." He muttered to himself.
Shep was sat at the bar enjoying his second glass of some obscure scotch and he started thinking about New London; its economy and potential jobs.
Mayor Karla Knighten is in charge the town is too small for her to need a cabinet of ministers (no jobs there).
The science sector is there to try and figure out how the old technologies work and invent and discover new methods and technologies (mass field theory gives me a headache).
The guards watch out for raiders and wildlife that gets too close to the borders (snore).
The engineers repair recovered technologies and maintain current ones (Pass).
The agricultural sector….. (Hell no)
The scav…
As Shep picked up his third glass of Whisky a large group of people burst in through the door. Four men and a woman strode into the building each wearing a black raw hide jacket with the letters S and C embroidered on left of their chests and what looked like old world pistols strapped to their waists. He studied each of them closely his eyes jumping from one to the next and back again. All of a sudden the bar was booming and alive. After a few minutes he noticed one of the teachers from the school "Crap" Shep spun on the spot and started looking for Rico. They weren't really old enough to be in the bar "Where the hell is he?" Shep started pushing through the crowds as he neared the corner that he saw them go to for privacy he noticed one of the booths had its curtains drawn and he ran in before the teacher spotted him. As he entered the booth that was poorly light by dim candles and he turned and into the peered back into the club through the curtains trying to spot the teacher.
"What the hell are you doing Shep?" Rico shouted as he put his shirt back on.
Shep turned to face Rico the worry still fresh on his face "It's that bastard Vorcha teacher from school he really doesn't like me and he knows our faces we have to get out of here."
Rico joined him at the curtain and peered into the room "It's simple all we need to do is keep our heads down and make it to the side door…." The blood drained from his face as he stared at the door "Shado, when did your mother start hiring Krogan bouncers?"
"Last week when she caught me in here with a Turian, but its ok they aren't due to start until 10."
Shep looked down at his old leather strapped watch and sighed "It's 11:30."
Shado stood up and laughed as she straightened her clothes "Well you two are screwed, good luck." she stepped out from behind the curtains and walked off into the crowd.
"Well it's nice of your girlfriend to help us."
"Shep unless you have a plan, shut up."
"I've got an idea just stay close and follow me."
Shep lead Rico around the crowd and away from the dance floor; they could see the 8 foot tall Krogan stood in front of the side entrance, Shep gestured for Rico to stop and mingle with some women while he thought the rest of his plan through. Until he saw his teacher, staring at him from across the room. He turned and grabbed Rico with one hand and an empty glass with the other.
"I hope you don't mind ladies." As he gave them a charming smile.
He threw the glass over the Krogan and it smashed against the head of a Turian guard who turned and kicked the Vorcha behind him
"Please, please, please."
The Vorcha's friends turned and started leaping at the Turian with their claws out and the Turian's friends did the same. The bouncer spun around and started running at the fight that was taking place. Rico pat Shep on the back and they ran out of the side door and down the street.
Rico was trying to catch his breath "How the hell…. did you know…. that would work?"
"Simple mate, no one really likes the Vorcha." Shep wiped the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve.
"Imagine what your folks would say if they saw you do that."
"I think it's best if we call it a night it's already late."
"Agreed."
Shep sighed "The bloody doors will be locked by now."
"Go and see Liv her place is closer anyway."
"That actually sounds like a good Idea."
Rico ran off down one of the side streets and Shep started walking towards Liv's.
'That was great I can't believe the adrenaline rush' he thought to himself.
