The following morning Ziva and I got up and dressed, before making breakfast and eating it as fast as we could, glad that Ziva's go bag was stoked with at least three changes of clothes. We were on duty this weekend so we had to go in, even if we didn't have a case. I sat at my desk and smiled, reviewing last night and playing it back in my mind. It was the first time we had said I love you to each other and in all honesty I thought it would take longer for us to say it but it was out there now and for that I was greatful. However trying to hide it at work now would be harder than before.

The only person I was truly worried about finding out was Gibbs but maybe that was what we had to do, we hadn't exactly had this conversation and since Gibbs was out on his coffee run and lunch break and McGee was on his lunch break I knew that we could talk about it in here but we needed a less crowded area to talk about it. I announced to Ziva that I was going to the bathroom and she must've gotten the hint because a couple of minutes later she was in the bathroom with me.
"Whats up?" she asked and I looked at her, grabbing her hands in mine to pull her closer so I could place my lips on hers. When I broke the kiss I said
"I know we haven't had a chance to talk about this but we need to tell Gibbs. I don't want him to catch us or suspect anything. He needs to know" I said and she nodded
"He does, he needs to know that we are a couple. But what if he splits us up?" she asked not looking me in the eye
"Zi, he wouldn't do that. He knows from first hand experience that I don't work well without you" I said and she nodded in understanding, both of us immeadiately thinking of Somalia.
"Ok then when should we tell him?" She asked and I thought
"What about when he gets back from his break? Take him to the confrence room and talk in there" I suggested and she nodded.

Gibbs returned from his break about five minutes after we returned from the bathroom. When we saw him enter Ziva excused herself so that she could go to the confrence room, but her excuse was so that she could file the paper work she had just finished.
"Gibbs I need to talk to you" I said standing in front of his desk, when he looked up at me with a look that said get on with it, I shook my head
"Not here. The confrence room" I suggested and he nodded. So we both made our way to the confrence room. Entering we saw Ziva pacing up and down as she waited, but she turned and stopped in the middle of the room, Gibbs looked from me to Ziva and then back again.
"Whats going on?" he asked and I made my way to Ziva's side
"Gibbs we need to tell you that we are in a relationship. We needed to tell you before you got suspicious or jumped to the wrong conclusion but we are in this for the long run" I said and he looked at Ziva
"Its true Gibbs, we haven't been dating long but we truly love each other and we needed you to know before anyone else" Ziva said. He nodded
"Congratulations and it took you two long enough" he said and we looked at each other confused
"Honestly, I'm surprised it took you two so long to finally admit your feelings for one another. I'm happy for you" Gibbs said and we looked even more stunned.
"But what about Rule 12?" Ziva asked
"I don't really mind, I just hope you both know its going to be hard and that your going to have to work at it everyday. I'm guessing neither one of you acted on it because you didn't want to disappoint me and I'm flattered but some rules are allowed to be broken, this one is one of them" he said a little smirk on his face, as Ziva and I just stood there stunned at what he was telling us. Sure Rule 12 had stopped us, but we were using it to hide behind mostly, but knowing that he was letting us break rule 12 was surprising.
"Well are two going to stay like that all day are you going to come back and finish the paper work that is sitting on your desks?" Gibbs asked and we nodded. Before we left I kissed Ziva's cheek and she smiled.
"I love you" she whispered
"I love you too" I whispered kissing the tip of her nose before we made our way back out of the confrence room back to our desks.
