Overwatch: Duty Towards The Future
Chapter 3: Protector Of The Tomb
[Giza, Egypt]
A new day comes as near by the city was a large facility otherwise known as Helix Security International. A task force, meant to keep several secrets an AI programs at bay and from others, due to what happened at the Omnicrisis. Inside were several agents as they were doing their duties, and in one office was a sign that read, 'Fareeha Amari' on it.
Rushing inside was a new recruit in the Helix force, as he walks in with several papers, though stumbling to the floor as they flew everywhere and onto the ground, the young man groaned as he began to pick them up. Until he saw a shadow over him, he looks up to see a young woman, with black hair and in a captain's uniform, "C-Captain Fareeha! I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to drop these papers…" he continued to pick up the rest of the papers before placing them back on the desk.
Fareeha sighed as she got up, "Private Taresse… I thought I told you to bring these in short piles? Not all at once." She scolded him.
"Y-Yes ma'am!" He nodded, following her order.
She soon picked up one of the papers and sighed again, "Private.. These are the wrong papers I asked for…" She showed him his error.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am." He apologized, trying to correct the errors he made.
"Go out and grab me the right copies. Your job is on the line after all!" She shouted, like a general would do to recruits.
He saluted before he begun the task he was ordered to do, leaving the captain the only person in the office. She sighed heavily, sitting back down before looking over his file, "Spite being a screw up… he does show some potential…" She said, looking over his skills, "Though he was at the top class, he seems to just screw up here? If he wants to get better, he needs to overcome it…"
Fareeha leaned back in her chair, looking over to see her armor on a stand along with several medals, and some pictures. Including that of the time where her old team sealed away Anubis one last time, "I miss you guys…" She sighed.
Meanwhile, near the depths of the Temple of Anubis. The door to the temple outside, all the way to the depths of the temple were wide open, as if something was breaking inside. And near the sarcophagus, stood a few Roidmudes, including one that was icey blue with a odd face, resembling some kind of yeti. Along with a few Bat, Spider and Cobra Roidmudes as well.
"So, this is the thing, Paradox wanted us to get?" The Roidmude asked.
"It is what we need," the lead Roidmude nodded as they surround the sarcophagus before grabbing hold of it. "We are taking it with us."
"Careful with it. I rather not have Paradox erase us. I like living again." Freeze Roidmude frowned.
They nodded as they used their strength to carry it as they hoisted it up and slowly carried it with them. But as they do, they freeze in place, as if something stopped them. The Freeze Roidmude caught this attention quickly as he turns to them.
"Why did you stop moving? Keep going damn it!" It ordered them, spite not response. Freeze frowned as he walked over, but before he could touch them, a blast of energy sent him back. He looked up to see the Sarcophagus glowing before being lifted into the air, along with the few Roidmudes. They glowed as well before their bodies, and Core were turned to ash and flew into the sarcophagus as it began to resonate, as if something was waking up.
"Damn it…" He growled before casting out a Density Shift and left the area knowing that it failed.
The sarcophagus floated to the ground as it kept glowing, it floated there for awhile until it slowly opened up, "I… Have returned…." An ominous voice rang out from it.

There is a light at my world's end, There's nothing left now to defend
As the song starts, we see Cody standing along what looks like to be a field, overlooking the plains and the city out in the distance. A smile on his face as he begins to race towards the city.
It flies off in the wind
As Cody races towards the city, several Signal Bikes and Shift Cars are racing behind him. As he keeps running, the title card appears, shining brightly before the Signal Bikes and Shift Cars races towards it, flying right through it as the screen turns white.
I can't get by pretending it's okay
The screen then comes back to Cody, relaxing in the Overwatch HQ, as Tracer appears, teasing him by fiddling with his hair. Mercy from afar giggles at this while Winston sighs, working on something as it sparks in his face.
I can't help us so this is our last day
It then shifts to Lucio jamming to his music before D. Va pops in, taking off his headphones and running around, with the said person trying to chase after her. Only to stop and see Reinhardt standing there, arms crossed before scolding them. As Mei sighs slightly from their antics.
Everything was stolen from me, In a world that wouldn't change
We then see Hanzo, meditating under some cherry blossom trees as Genji is sitting right behind him, a small smile appear on Hanzo's face. Before shifting towards Zenyatta, giving a speech at some sumit as Zarya keeps guard over him.
What's this song that I have been singing, A song of colors turned to gray
It then changes towards an alley as smoke blooms in it, and appearing from it was none other than Reaper, along with Widowmaker, Talon, and several more shrouded by the darkness.
Everything is bright
Back at the HQ, the alarm goes off as Tracer, Winston and Mercy races off towards it, as Cody follows behind them, lifting up Signal Mach.
It's time to let my shattered dreams, Become this world's reality
It then changes to an all-out brawl as Tracer is fighting against Windowmaker, with Lucio backing her up. Then changes to Genji and Hanzo, unleashing their dragon attacks with D. Va jumping out of her mech that quickly self-destructs, besting Talon's forces.
It's the end for me
We then see Cody, now in Mach's armor as he strikes, shoots and deflects every attack at him as he changes into Dead-Heat, Chaser and another shadowy form as he gets close to Reaper.
There is a light at my world's end, There's nothing left now to defend
It then changes back to Cody running towards somewhere, as the screen quickly pans out to show the rest of the heroes of Overwatch who still remained heroes. Each one smiling or determined as they race off towards their location.
Now I can see, There's nothing left for me
As they keep running, it pans to show not only a newly made Overwatch Headquarters, but a more brightful future as the sun shines on the HQ's tower. It then slowly cuts back towards Cody, now looking up at the night sky as the title card appears one last time.
As the new team of Overwatch finished their mission in the North Pole, they quickly set out towards Egypt, hoping to see if Phara can join them. Though Winston was unsure if she would due to the history of her and her mother. Meanwhile, Cody was sitting on a chair down below, his head lowered slightly while Mercy and Tracer had their arms crossed, the medic now hearing what he tried to do to the Talon soldier.
"You have some explaining to do, Cody." Mercy informed.
He was silent, avoiding eye contact with her, knowing what he did and knows what he was in for. Tracer sighed softly, "He's been like this since Winston and him had the same chat…" She frowned. She leans in and whispers, "I know he's new, but think you can put on your…. 'Charm' to get him to talk it out? I know you took some psychology classes…." She asked.
"You think that would work?" Mercy whispered back.
"It's our only way to get him to talk to us on why he even tried that stunt?" She answered.
"Cody… Can you please tell me why you tried to harm the Talon soldier?" She asked. He didn't answer her again, as she sighed softly and kneeled down to him. "Cody. We just want to know why you threaten him. As a member of Overwatch, you can't just simply kill people."
Cody remained silent for a bit, before a heavy sigh overcame him. "I…. wasn't really going to go through with that threat…" He admitted.
"But why make the threat?"
"It… was to intimidate him… If he really thought that his life would end that moment… Maybe he would've talked? It was just a tactic to get to Mei faster before she got hurt…" He replied.
Mercy and Tracer looked at each other before looking at Cody. "I understand but as a member, you can't make threats or kill people."
"I know that…. I… I was just worried you guys would lose someone important… And I didn't have time to wait…" He acknowledged, knowing his mistake, but not regretting trying to get some answers.
"We are approaching the destination," Winston informed the group.
Outside the window, was Egypt. But this one seemed a lot more different than Cody's Egypt. It looked more advance, barely any sand can be seen sides from the borders of the cities that were around it. There was also, several large metallic pyramids in several spots of the towns. Including some actual ancient pyramids as well. It looked kinda like some Neo Egypt kind of vibe to it.
The Carrier landed as the team were making their way out of it, though sides from Winston, everyone else had shorter clothes on, to deal with the massive heat wave of the place. "Phew…. Still as hot as ever…" Cody complained.
"Alright, I believe we can head into the Helix HQ and request a meeting with Pharah. Knowing her, she will be free about now." Winston ordered as they were about to head out, but he stopped as he turned to Mach, and pointing back at the carrier, "No. You will stay with the ship."
"But-"
"Listen to him, Cody. It's better that you should stay." Krim said from his shoulder.
"This is your punishment for going against the Overwatch code. Think this over the next time you do anything." Winston huffed, marching ahead of the others. Cody though was still astonished that he had to stay back and watch this rust bucket?! He growled in anger, kicking one of the metal boxes next to him sending it flying into the ship as he storms back inside.
With Mercy, D. Va, Winston, and Tracer, they were heading where Fareeah was. "I hope Cody can understand why he has to stay at the ship." Tracer said.
"He'll learn in time. He is still new to this after all." Mercy nodded.
"Besides. He is from one of the Forgotten Era's. It's bound to be plausible that his emotions and mind set is more…. Barbaric than today's." Winston added on, spite a quick glare from Tracer from saying that word.
The four continued to make their way until they noticed a familiar person by one of the entrances of the temple. "Pharah." Winston called out.
She saluted him, "Winston. What brings you to Egypt today? Wanting to study Anubis yet again?" She asked him.
"Not this time I'm afraid." He chuckled, "Actually, we would like to talk to you… privately." He requested.
Seeing his expression, she nodded and gestured them to follow. As they walk, Fareeah spoke up, "I take it Mei told you that I was looking for you?"
"Yes. What is it that you wanted?" Winston asked, the group entering her room before she locks it and walks to her desk. And in a few moments she brings out a wanted poster, with none other than Mach's helmet on it.
Winston looked at Fareeah. "When did you put this up?"
"For the past three days, why do you ask?"
"Because this 'suspect' you believe to be has been with us three for a while, never left our sights." He replied..
Pharah frowned, crossing her arms, "While I do believe your words. The fact of the matter is that he has caused us trouble… I would appreciate it if you will hand him over to our custody so we can settle this and find the truth."
They looked at each other then at Pharah. But before they could say anything, several alarms went off as they looked around. Fareeha quickly grabbed her armor, donning on her warrior persona, Pharah before they went towards where the alarm went off. Standing near a vault was none other than Mach. He dodged, deflected, and attacked any guard that came his way, much to the confusion of the group.
"What the heck is he doing?!" Tracer got out
"See? This is why we need to apprehend him!" Pharah growled, pointing her weapon at him, only for him to disappear in a flash. "Get back here!" She shouted out, following after the trail he left.
"He wouldn't do something like this…. Why does his armor look different too?" Mercy noted.
"Huh? What do you mean? It looks the same as ever…" D. Va said, tilting her head.
"Now that you mention it… you are right…. His armor seemed… inverted?" Winston pointed out. "D. Va, check if Cody is at the ship. Something tells me someone is trying to frame him."
Back at the ship, the young rider was shooting empty can after empty can, bored out of his mind on how he must still stay here. He sighed heavily as the last can was blasted into bits, hoping they would return soon. "Krim?" He asked, seeing if the scientist is still here or back inside his base?
"Yes, Cody?" The shift car rolled up onto the seat.
"Do…. you think I was in the right? I mean… if I didn't try something, a second too soon… She could've been dead…." Cody asked, finally pondering on his actions.
Krim was quiet before he heard a sigh, "Shinnosuke or Go wouldn't have done what you did…. but at the same time knowing, what Overwatch does, it was wrong to do."
Cody frowned at this, maybe realizing forceful tactics that he could've used back then would no longer work. "Guess…. I'm not cut out for this huh?" He questioned.
"Cody, you shouldn't doubt yourself," Krin said. "I know this era isn't the place you know but remember, you can make things right by helping them."
The young rider lowered his head, trying to think of something to help the others out. As well as apologize for his actions. He is beginning to understand to think like a teammate than some solo act. But before he could try anything, a small round of explosions erupted, throwing the young rider off and onto the ground. As he looks up, while his vision may be blurred, he was able to make out the figure near by.
"G-Gou?" Cody gasped. It turned its head to Cody as his vision finally cleared up, only to see that it wasn't Gou and the armor was inverted. "You're not him…" He realized. It took notice of the Mach Driver on Cody's waist in which he aimed his gun at the young Rider.
Before it can shoot more rounds, the sound of boosters were heard before it was slammed to the side, sending it away from Cody. "Cody, are you okay?" D. Va asked.
"D. Va!" Cody smiled, standing up, "Care to share on what's going on and why there's some imposter here?"
"Don't know but one of Winston's friends think you are behind this." She replied as the Mach imposter moved the rubble out of the way.
"Cody, if they think you are doing this then using the Mach armor will only raise more tension." Krim informed.
"Then what am I supposed to do? Let D. Va fight alone on this one?" He argued.
The Fake Mach scoffs, quickly reappearing in front of D. Va is let out a barrage of punches at her mech, causing it to spark and stumble back from the repeated blows. It then pointed its gun at the cockpit, glaring at the young gamer girl. Cody growled, quickly strapping on the Driver as he places Signal Mach inside, not caring what happens to him as he charges ahead, "Henshin!"
RIDER~! MACH!
The energetic trumpet tunes plays as the armor forms and places itself onto him. Once the visor and Rider Gem shines, he quickly tackles the Fake Mach into the abandoned building near by, tossing it into a pillar. "Start talking fake! What do you want?" He questioned, pointing his weapon at the false Rider.
It stared at Cody before speaking up, "Your Belt…." It answered before charging back in, the riders giving blow for blow, the the fake seemed to have more of an edge before rapidly striking his chest before swinging the Zenrin Shooter it had upward.
Sparks flew off his armor as Cody stumbled back, panting and noticing the pattern, "Wait… That was one of Gou's moves…." Cody looked back up, "You're just copying data from Roidmude's that Gou defeated!"
The Fake blocked Cody's attack as it struck Cody across the chest. It was about to reach for the belt, large arms got hold of its waist before being swung to a light post. In front of Cody was Mercy, Tracer, Winston and someone he doesn't recognize.
"Just in time, Winston." D. Va said, glad to see them as they all looked at the copy.
"It seems so…" Winston agreed as the armored woman looked at the fake then at Cody, seeing the truth.
"So… this is him huh?" She asked, looking at the young rider more closely, "Seems to me, you found another greenhorn. Can't you guys find anyone with actual experience for once?"
Cody felt offended upon the remark, "At least I'm trying to help fight knowing the Roidmudes are here along with guys like that." He pointed at the Fake Mach who shook its head, trying to get its senses together.
"And it's trying to get Cody's belt." Krim said from the Shift Car on the young Rider's shoulder. "It must not obtain the belt at all costs."
"What's so important about that belt anyways, Krim?" Tracer asked, thinking it would be better off by just handing it over.
"The tech isn't something others shouldn't use! I rather not have another Banno incident!" He exclaimed. "I buried everything I created for a good reason! Humanity isn't ready, even now for the things I created."
"Either way…. We have to know why this thing truly wants your friends belt. Otherwise, Helix may still go after him." Pharah stated, realizing that he is indeed innocent.
The fake got up and saw how outnumbered he was, causing him to escape.
"He got away…" Winston muttered before looking at Krim. "Why would that imposter go after the belt?"
"Same reason to the Drive Driver, they both allow anyone who uses them to travel during the Density Shift freely." Krim explained.
"And in the wrong hands, they could make something more worst than any Density Shift or Roidmude can ever do…." Cody added on. "My question is… How did it gain enough data and info to make a copy based on my predecessor, Gou?"
Pharah pondered about how it was possible. Nothing can't obtain data unless.. "The temple…" She realized. "There was a security breach days before you all got here."
Cody and the others turned to Pharah, "Temple? What's so important about some Temple? Got the Holy Grail in there or something?" He joked.
"It's something worse," She replied.
The Overwatch team followed Pharah to the temple as she lead them inside. "The breach involved an unknown party that the security are right now going over the footage to see who would try to take the sarcophagus of Anubis." She explained. "Some of the guards… were shot and the sarcophagus was nearly stolen."
"Were the shots in a form of energy? Were their wounds cauterize upon impact as well?" Krim asked.
Pharah turned to Krim, "Actually yes. How did you know?"
Krim soon displayed a screen on the wall next to them, displaying the three types of Roidmudes. "The Roidmudes are responsible for the killings… they are sentient androids who evolve under certain circumstances such as eating explosives, kidnapping people for their looks, even eating a Viral Core."
"So that's what they're called… And… How would you know them?" She questioned, beginning to get suspicious of him.
He displayed a photo of two people. "The man on the left was me before I transferred my conscious to the Drive Driver. The man on the right… Was Banno Tenjuro, the person who I once considered a colleague but he betrayed me, created the Roidmudes with negative data, even resulting with my death. He tricked me into using the Viral Cores for the Roidmudes..."
Pharah, what could be seen from her helmet, frowns slightly upon hearing this. "I'm sorry that happened to you, Sir." She said, much to the surprise of the others.
Cody though caught onto this as he leaned next to Tracer, "Uh… Is her apologizing that shocking to you all?" He asked her.
"Yeah…. She's not one to apologize…" Tracer replied.
"Ahem…" Cody coughed, gaining the attention of Pharah, "So… This Temple Of Anubis…." He started, "Do you really have the Egyptian God's body in here?" He asked, not knowing the full details.
"No. What we have here is a God AI." She responded. "A specially created AI, that has the ability to control anything electronic. Basically, it's like a virus for machines and Omnics… There are only a handful of them out there, and for us, we have one of the most dangerous ones sealed away…. Or so we thought…." She frowned.
"So… This 'God Ai' is based on Anubis… And it's out now? Can't we just track it down and kill it?" Cody asked, though gaining a glare from Pharah.
"It's not that simple. 'Killing' it, is impossible. It can just go into a new machine and be revived…. There is no stopping it… Only sealing it away once more…." She sighed.
"That still doesn't explain why it wants Cody's Belt… What would it get just from the data of it? I think there's more to this…." Tracer pointed out.
"Only way to find out is in the Tomb of Anubis…." Pharah said.
The group finally got past the last door, and inside were several containment fields, though they seem to be fully damaged and unrepairable, while in the center was some kind of Robotic body being built. It was twice the size of a human, while it looked like it had features of Roidmudes, as the chest of the chest had a plate, with the symbol for Anubis in had neon blue lines running through it, and finally on its head resembled the Anubis Jackel face as it slowly looked up.
"So… You have arrived with help again, Fareeha…" Anubis chuckled. "Care to see them die like you last team?" It taunted her. Cody saw her hands clench tightly before he spoke up, "Are you responsible for killing some of the Roidmudes?"Anubis chuckled, "Why yes I am, boy…. Now… Hand over your Belt…" it said, holding out its hand.
"Let me think about that…." He answered before shooting a few rounds at Anubis, "How about no?" He sent off a few more rounds, but Anubis easily deflected them all as he slowly stood up, the group ready for a fight.
"Lady Fareeha, any idea on how to stop this thing? I'm not seeing any weak point in my scanners." Krim asked, hoping for some info so he can relay it to Cody.
"I don't know. It's never had a body like this.. It's only been sarcophagus." Pharah said, not sure what to do now.
"Then, I guess our only option is to beat it till it has no body left." Cody said, pointing to it, "Since it possibly absorbed Roidmudes, it now has this body, therefore a core to be destroyed." He stated to them, Krim turning to the young Rider, surprised by this.
"You're right Cody! Well done!" Krim said, the Shift Car he's in honks happily.
"Are you sure that's possible Krim?" Winston asked.
"Yes. This happened before where a man, known as Lupin, took over a body designated as CyberRoid ZZZ. After his body gave out, he was able to send his consciousness into its body reactivating it and even making his very own core from his will." Krim explained. "If this 'Anubis' is running on the same principle, where it sent its data into this body, it's most likely, 90% that is does indeed have a core."
"Then let's take this thing down." Pharah said, as she begins flying up in the air and rains down several missiles at Anubis, while it just deflected her missiles with ease.
"Something tells me it's going to be tougher than that…" Tracer frowned.
"Then we will do this one as a team," Winston said.
Cody though looked at Winston, "Even… me?" He asked, wondering if they'll allow it this time?
Winston nodded, "You are a member of Overwatch, it's time you show what it truly means to be part of it."
Cody smiled and nodded, twirling his weapon as they begin to open fire at Anubis as well. The large figure, blocked a few of the blasts before another missile attack made it drop its guard. Once distracted, Tracer and Cody use their speed, getting behind it quickly as they fire at it once again.
"Ready to blow that thing up, monkey man?" D. Va smirked, looking at Winston.
""I'm a scientist…" He huffed, taking off his glasses as he enters his Primal Rage and pounces on the Jackel. D. Va giggled as she began to fly around, shooting at it as they group kept up their attacks. Anubis growled in anger, trying to swat them away, while able to smack Pharah and Winston off, the other three were being too much of an annoyance.
"Cody you know what to do," Krim said as some of the signal bikes honked in agreement.
"Got it." He smiled, taking out Signal Mach, and replacing it with one that was blue, had the crossroad sign on it, and had the resemblance of a old Harvey. He placed it inside as he closed the panel.
SIGNAL BIKE!
SIGNAL KOUKAN! KAKSARN!
The Signal Indicator on his right arm changed into the crossroad sign as he pointed the gun and pulled the trigger on it, but as he does, he quickly presses the button once. The bullet shined as broke apart and became a widespread shot.
KAKSARN!
The several rounds of energy struck Anubis, causing the giant to roar from the repeated strikes. "Beat that one you two." He smirked at Tracer and D. Va. As if he's asking for them to put up a challenge for them to see how much they can damage this thing?
"Seems like the newbie wants to challenge us…" D. Va smirked. "Shall we show him how the pros do it, Tracer?"
"Right back at ya," Tracer agreed before the two charged towards Anubis.
They fired around the giant robot, striking its legs and sides much to the dismay of the large AI. It swiped at them, though unable to strike them both, causing it to growl out and send a blast of energy, while it worked for a moment on the them, everyone, minus Pharah is able to move around normally.
"Seems, it really doesn't like us hitting it…" D. Va. frowned, dodging another attack.
"W-What's… going on?" Pharah asked, trying to move.
"It casted out a Density Shift, an energy field that once let out, can disorient its victims and slow them to a crawl." Winston explained as another Shift Car flew to Pharah and attached to her side, creating a Shift holder.
Cody quickly sped up to the giant, quickly jumping on it's arm as it travel upward to the head. Once close enough, Cody grabbed his weapon, and puled down on the wheel. it glowed white as it spun rapidly. Cody then took a few swipes at the head. Sparks casted off from the few blows he left. He quickly knew of the danger as he jumped off in time as the giant smacked it's face. Once back down, Cody, Tracer, D. Va and Pharah sent a barrage of bullets and or missiles at Anubis. Causing more and more damage as they work together, to bring down this thing once and for all. But after that last blast, the area where it stood was covered in smoke, until a quick movement cleared the area of the smoke. Showing Anubis with only some damage from their attacks, and he was clearly angered by this.
"You lousy flesh bags are getting on my nerves!" Anubis shouted out, its eyes glowing as everyone gains a small light below them. And in seconds a few more lights come up as what looks like shadows form before revealing inverted version of them all.
"So this is how it made the Fake Mach," Cody growled.
"Kill them all!" The Fake Mach shouted out, the false version shouting together, charging at the others, as it was a literal battle between mirrors.
The first one fighting was Winston and his inverted fake, the almost mechanical gorilla smacking him away, "You're pathetic! You let the one who cared for you die, and you'll let them down just the same! You're no scientist, you're just a talking gorilla…" It taunted him.
Winston clenched his hands as he got up, "I may be a gorilla…" He removes his glasses and puts them away. "But I am a scientist!" He soon entered Primal Rage as he charged forward and began to overpower the Inverted Winston.
Near by, Tracer and her fake began to fire at one each other, not giving in any inch. "You're terrible! If you would take things seriously and not goof around, then maybe you would've have not gotten your illness!" The Inverted Tracer laughed, "It's thanks to you that, Mondotta, the last Omnic Monk Of The Iris died against that sniper! Can't you do anything right?"
Tracer became quiet upon the statement, the memory of her task that she failed and the incident that caused her to gain the abilities. "I…. You…." she sighed. "You're right… I did fail in stopping that assassin…. But…" she looked up, quickly Blinking to the fake and grabbing her, she then spun around before slamming it into the ground, pointing the gun at its temple, "But I am not like what I used to be…. And I swear, I will never let another one I care for, die…" She answered, shooting it through the head.
D. Va though, was having some troubles against the Inverted version of herself. The gamer girl trying to keep up, but in minutes, her mech was down before she ejected from it, her first mech she made finally destroyed.
"Geez! Is all your skill from a video game?" the fake asked, "If you spent more time trying to train then play, maybe you wouldn't haven't lost to me so badly!"
She dodged another shot as D. Va aimed her pistol at the fake. "Games, training, it doesn't matter. Sure I may be the best player but it doesn't get in my way to stay strong to protect my friends." She countered as a smirk grew before energy began to form in front of her in which she jumped mid-air and finally went inside a newly formed Mech, unleashing multiple rounds at the fake.
Near in the air, Pharah was shooting several missiles, but the fake easily dodged around them until it grabbed her and knocking her into the wall, causing her wings to spark as she falls onto the ground. She growls, looking up at the fake.
"Honor? Glory? For the People? You can't even find your mother…. Then you have no right to bear arms…." The fake scoffed, "Just give it up… you could never be like her."
She growled, quickly grabbing the barrel of the missile launcher and began to bend it like paper as she stood up, "You're right about that. I'm not my mother. I'm better!" She said, snapping the weapon and picking up her own, repeatedly shooting the fake. "And this time, I'll make sure you and Anubis will see your last days on this planet!"
Finally in the corner was Cody, speeding around the area, but easily stopped by his own fake. He groaned as he looked up at the false rider, standing back up, "Man… Gou was tough to fight…." He panted, knowing this fake was using the styles and prowess of his predecessor..
"You are no hero, you are just someone who is way out of his time." The fake Mach said. "All you do is to try to show you can do something, it only leads you nowhere! You are nothing like Gou, you are just a man with nothing as he is trapped in a place, scared!"
Cody flinched from this, "You know nothing of me…" He growled out, sending another blast at him, but the Fake Mach dodged in time and disarmed the rider, pinning him to the wall.
"You are afraid! You got nothing now!" It added "You are weak."
Cody lowered his head. "So what if I am…?" He admitted. "I know I am weak, new to this and out of my own time, being in this era… I am scared but that doesn't mean I can't use that to remind myself that I am only human. I am someone, a human being who wants to protect his friends. I know what is now right and what is wrong…" He managed to kick the fake Mach away as Cody grabbed his weapon, aimed at the fake. "But I will help the people who saved me! I am a member of Overwatch! Ore wa… Kamen Rider Mach!"
He then unloaded several rounds, tossing the Fake into the ground as the other false version landed near by. The other walking near to him as they heard his speech, Tracer and even Pharah placed their hands on him, nodding in approval.
"D. Va? Care to send these imposters to the scrap yard?" Winston asked, the gamer girl beaming brightly from hearing that.
"Alright! I've been waiting for this!" She beamed. She pressed several buttons before ejecting from the mech, it flew towards the group of fakes before striking them, and pinning them to the wall. The Mech sparked and glowed before it erupted into a fiery explosion, destroying them all.
"Woah!" The young rider turned to the beaming girl. "You have a self destruct button in that thing?"
"Yep!" She nodded. "I have been waiting to do that for a long while."
"Filthy meat bags!" They quickly forgot about Anubis as its large hand flew over them, smacking them away before grabbing the young rider. Once brought back to the large entity, sparks flew off his armor as neon blue wires wrapped onto the young rider, data flowing in and out of the rider and he yelled in pain from the sudden change. "I will not be sealed away! I will have what is mine!"
"Technic, now!" Krim's voice shouted.
The said Shift Car drove to Anubis and unleashed a green wave of energy at Anubis. The evil AI began to feel it's motion monitors beginning to slow down, its data becoming corrupted in which Anubis quickly released Cody as it stumbled away, moving more and more slower.
"Ugh… Thanks Krim…" He groaned.
"What did you do?" Pharah asked, surprised to see this happen.
"Technic can access anything from computers, their mainframes, even the mainframe of a Roidmudes. After all he absorbed a Viral Core, the same thing I made so in other words, it allowed Technic to hack into its system." Krim replied. "Technic, activate the sequence 210." It honked as it released another wave of energy. "And now I suggest we leave before this place collapsed upon what I initiated."
"Collapse? What did you do Krim? Cody asked, worried.
"I… activated the explosive sequence code on the viral cores it absorbed." He said before he quickly drove to the exit.
"You making it self destruct?!" Cody shouted out, the others along with him, following the Shift Car out of the tomb as fast as they can.
Anubis tried to move but it's sensors, it's mainframe was completely frozen, it's data corrupted. "Not again… I can't go down like this…" it roared out before the final click was heard. "NOOOOOO!" Its body glowed before it detonated, causing a larger explosion as the temple ceiling fell onto the machine as the flames of the explosions was slowly catching up with the group. "Grr…. Krim? Mind lending me Formula?" He asked, knowing they won't make it in time.
The said Shift Car which suddenly zoomed towards Cody as it honked. But instead of the young rider's hands, it landed on D. Va's mech and glowed. The gamer girl saw her mech's system going off the charts. The ignition speed was increasing along with the level. "Woah! Talk about an upgrade!" She smiled, igniting the new boosters as she rammed into everyone, pushing them all out as her speed increased until they all shot out of the temple, landing in the sand below as the fire from the explosion erupted out of it.
They panted slightly as the said Shift Car raced off away, "Guess you don't trust me enough with that huh?" The young rider turned to Krim.
"It's dangerous remember? Without the Trailer-Hou, you won't control it easily but with D. Va and her mech it is easier." Krim responded.
"You gotta let me use that again!" D. Va beamed. "Or install a system similar to that onto my mech!"
"I'll let you use it when you are in dire need, Miss Song." Krim replied to her as she picked up the Shift Car he was in and nuzzled it.
"ThankYouThankYouThankYou!" She said as fast as she can, jumping up and down happily from hearing that.
Pharah though stood up, looking at the burning temple as fire trucks came in to douse the flames. "He's… finally gone…. Right?" She asked, turning to Krim.
"Technic made sure and the fact that his living source was now the Viral Core. Technic already removed any remnants of Anubis that he could have put in the Mach Driver." He assured. "Seeing as how my mentor designed it, I can tell what was out of line in the system."
Cody sighed with relief, knowing that the AI won't come back to life and inhabit his armor, Pharah though had a soft smile on her face, taking off her helmet and rubbing her eyes that showed some tears in it. 'You guys….. After many years…. I avenged your deaths…'
Later on back in Helix HQ, the rest of the reformed Overwatch team was in the office of Pharah, along with her assistant as she thinks over the proposition that they made to her. Her eyes closed and a odd feeling being given off by her. Cody, now out of his armor, leans in and whispers to Tracer, "Is she always like this?" He asked her.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it." She replied.
Pharha sighed, "So… You want me to join? Spite the fact that by doing this, I may throw my rank and post here away…" She turned to Winston, "Overwatch duties is illegal now…. And I haven't had time to join due to you all disbanded before I could… Now you want me to join and throw away my duties?"
"The Roidmudes and Talon have already begun fighting each other," Winston explained. "And Reaper tried to harm Mei to obtain ores to fight the Roidmudes."
Pharah rubbing her temples a bit, "I'm sorry. But I can't just do this… In fact, now that I know Overwatch is attempting to come back, I should call the authorities on you all…" She said to them all.
Cody gulped upon this. He understood that the Overwatch initiative was illegal but now he is gonna be thrown into the slammer! "But….." she looks up a soft smile on her face, "That doesn't mean I can't help you in secret…. And train this newbie." She said, looking at the young rider.
"You mean…" Cody realized.
"I'll pretend to be on leave, and help train you to get better. Running laps, and lifting weights won't do much to help you grow." She said, standing up, "I'll become your trainer and turn you into a real warrior." The others smiled as the Signal bikes honked in glee. "I-I…. Ahem…" He coughed, standing up tall to her, "Thank you Ma'am. I'll do my best and learn from you." Cody said to her, trying to act professional, despite it being a bit too much.
"Good," she nodded before gesturing Cody to follow in which he did.
"Well, while it's not what we wanted, extra help to train him, is good enough." Mercy giggled. "I just hope he's ready for her training? I heard she's more tougher than her own mother from the people I heard of."
"He'll be fine," Tracer said. "Right?"
The assistant walked up, overhearing them talk. "Well… she may be tough. But her training is legit." He assured them. "She's trained many soldiers to where they reach very high ranks here in Helix."
"It sounds like you admire her." Krim noted.
"Heh… you could… say that…" He said a soft blush appear on his face.
"Oh?" D. Va teased. "I'm starting to think it is more than that."
He blushed more as Tracer giggled, "Still… I think we should get going. I'm sure Pharah wants to train him as fast as she can. She's clearly in Teacher mode right now." She pointed out.
"True, we should go then." Winston agreed.
But upon walking out, they noticed Pharah, already having Cody in a lock as he pats the ground, begging for her to release him. "Enemies won't give you a chance, and neither will I!" She said, squeezing the hold enough for everyone to hear an audible pop from his body.
"Uncle… Uncle…!" He wheezed.
"Seems to me, she's already giving him the training…" Krim giving a deadpanned sigh.
"It would seem so," Winston agreed, the group wincing from the next pop they heard.
Meanwhile in the depths of the destroyed tomb, after the fire trucks doused the fire to where only bits of tech and ashes of many things laid, in the center of the Tomb was a small piece of tech, first faded, but after a few moments, it sparks neon blue.
"I…. I live?" The voice of Anubis rang out, that was until it felt something or someone picking it up. "Who are you? Are…. you the one who saved me?"
"I suggest you listen closely, AI." The voice warned. "I can put you down for good or would you want to live?"
Anubis was silent for a bit, "I…. I shall obey…" It agreed, "What do you want me to do?"
"Hack into Talon and give me every piece of information about them." It ordered. "You are only able to hack into those like Talon once I bring you back. Is that understood?"
"A-As you wish…. Master…." It responded, though not liking being used like a tool.
The shadows moved away, light forming into the room to reveal Paradox, holding the piece of Anubis in it's hands, it chuckled softly at this, knowing he had a more… easier option to use against his enemies, and soon, maybe get rid of Krim and the new rider he uses once and for all?
Meanwhile in Talon's HQ, news of Anubis reaching him and being destroyed made Reaper growl in anger. He can easily tell that Overwatch is behind this. Even more so that of their newest member, though he is unable to pull up any files about him at all, only knowing his code name, Mach.
It was also the group Talon lost two of their other bases to the Roidmudes, taken over in minutes. Lead by Paradox, master of distortion and time and space. Their weapons barely work against them due to their ability, slowing them down while the machines killed them.
Reaper though was angered by this, unsure how they lose against this robotic threat, while Overwatch is able to move freely. "This… is a lot more bigger problem than I thought…" He growled, pushing in a few numbers. "Junker, Roadhog, I want you to find out how this Mach and Overwatch are able to move during the energy field those cursed machines casted."
"Oi? Who are you to be running in 'my' private lines? Why I oughta-"
"Triple what others have paid you…" He replied.
A soft silence overcame the other line. "Where, when, and who the flip is a 'Mach'?" He answered.
"They are in Giza, by noon, and Mach is someone who needs to be rid of."
"Alroight, we'll get it done."
"You better." He ended the call before glancing a look at a corner. "Widowmaker, I have a task for you. A high priority target, much like the Monk."
Out from the shadows came a beautiful lady with a very feminine body, a woman with long purple hair, oddly enough blue skin, a unique one piece suit, robotic armor plating on the legs and arms and a unique visor resembling a spider, "Oui? And who might that be, Reaper?" She asked, leaning against his desk.
He displayed an image of the Roidmude leader, Paradox. "Him, Paradox. Think you can eliminate him?"
"As easy as a moth to a flame…" She said, smirking as she begins to walk away. "But… I cannot guarantee for any remains to be studied…."
Hearing that she has to eliminate Paradox, it will be an easy task. Or so she will think…
A/N: Heya minna! This one was a fun one huh? :3 Plans in motion and more things revealed. Now, I would like to apologize if this chapter feels shorter than the others? Remember, me and Shadow are working this from the ground up. Only ideas popping into our heads and even sometimes, harder to think on what to say? So, there maybe some chapters that are shorter than the rest, due to having difficulties putting them into a story.
So, until then, later minna!
