Three little words.
He had never spoken truer words in his entire life.
He couldn't waste anymore time. He was fading fast. He should have seen the signs, recognized the pains for what they really were.
He found himself searching for her, his eyes were out of focus and everything was spinning.
Where was she?
He needed to see her, just one more time.
He needed to explain everything.
He needed to hear her voice, hear her laugh.
He needed to hold her hand.
He needed her strength, her courage.
He needed her to count for him; he was afraid.
Suddenly everything started fading away. He felt like he was drowning in the darkness. He couldn't grasp onto the last bits of light in his field of vision.
Where was she?
He tried to take deeper breaths, tried to fight his closing eyes.
The pain was becoming too much.
He just wanted it to end.
Where was she?
Everything was fading into the darkness again.
He heard running footsteps and frantic voices.
Where was she?
He didn't think he could fight off the darkness much longer. With what he thought might be his last breath, he tried again.
"I want Kate."
What did you think? Let me know. This was just something I had in my head awhile ago and I put it up. I am a firm believer in the Jate ship and that line just really struck me as having different meanings for each of the characters.
