WENDLA POV:
"Then there's Mariana Whelan! As if she's return my call..." I sing to the 'Spring Awakening' album.
I love theatre. I guess its due to my dad being Apolo and all. But i feel i appreciate listening and watching theatre and also feeling what the plays or muscals or pantomimes mean, rather than being good act acting unlike my siblings.
I was obviously named after a character in a play. Wendla...Spring Awakening...bit obvious?
But also my middle name is Annie. Again. Obvious reference.
My mom was an actress until she had me with my dad. I came to camp a year ago and all thats ever talked about is that Percy Jackson guy.
I feel for him. I've heard his story and it seems like it would be a good musical.
"Wendla! We sitting together at dinner?" Calls Riff.
He's my full brother. Riff is a year older and more into music and classic rock than theatre. But i don't mind. We are like two peas.
"Well i don't have any other plans." I sigh.
"Well i do so be grateful i chose you." He winks in reply.
I throw a shoe at the door as he leaves my room.
I stare at my poster of West Side Story and think about him.
Him. Nico di Angelo. The tortured soul who is a surprisingly good singer. Of course he never does it in public but when i watch him through his cabin window and he sings along to his Chemical Romances, he sounds insanely good.
I wonder if he'd like to hear me sing...

I leave my cabin and smell the fresh air.
I hum along to "He Had It Coming" as i walk towards the Athena cabin.
"Hey Malcolm. have you seen Adri? I heard the hunters were hear but...?"
"Avtually yeah i did! She is at campfire." Malcolm replies walking with me.
"Okay thanks!" I quickly walk away from him.
As i see Adri talking to Nico i freeze.
She giggles as he blushes. Obviously its love interest sort of thing they are talking about.
I approach them and fix my "I'm not bad. I'm WICKED" Tee.
"Um...hi Adri." I keep my head down.
"WENDLEZZ!" Adri cries and hugs me. "How have you been?" She asks as slither out of her grasp.
"I'm okay." I respond. "You?"
She tells me about the monster quests and stuff as i figure out how to put on a production with some of the campers when she shoves me.
"So...?
"So what?" I jump.
"Met any guys yet?" She asks raising her perfect eyebrows. Adri is that girl who is perfect in every stupid way.
"No!" I yelp as Nico watches on.
"Oh really? Nico can you excuse us for just one second?
"Sure." Nico shuffles off.
"So...are you gay?" Adri blurts out.
"Uh...what? Pff. N...i mean...i just...why?" I stumble
"Well because you never seem interested in guys other than Nico and he's gay but you never seem interested in the hot guys here." She giggles/
"I have to go!" I yell and run away. Holding back tears.

FLASHBACK
...
"YOU WILL FIND A NICE MAN. GIVE BIRTH TO MY GRANDCHILDREN AND NEVER EVER EVER...THINK ABOUT THESE EMOTIONS AGAIN. YOU WILL NEVER SEE THAT GIRL AGAIN AND YOU WILL BE GOOD AND BE NORMAL!"
END OF FLASHBACK

"CAUSE YOU KNOW! I DONT DO SAADN-EHHEEESSS... NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT!" I listen to my ipod as i try to stop the tears from flowing as i clean the blood off of my arms and put the knife in my top drawer.
KNOCK KNOCK.
"GO AWAY!" I yell
"NOPE!" I hear a voice reply.
I get up and slam my door open to see a worried Thalia Grace there.
"Oh. You." I walk back to my bed, reluctantly letting her in and collapsing on it.
Thalia cuddles me to my dismay and comfort.
"Hey hey, whats wrong" She asks.
"I...i dont know how to keep it in much longer Thals!" I sniff.
"Hey, Look at me. I'm here now." She replies.
I cuddle into her and we stay like that for a bit.
She gets up and looks at my 13 poster.
"Remember last year, we went to Belgium and saw that international school in waterloo do this?" She asks
"Yeah. It was pretty good. Why were we there again?" I ask
"We were high and sneaked in for some reason/" She laughs in response.
"I checled their website. This year they are doing Spring Awakening." I say.
"Oh we should go see it!
"We should."
She looks at me and smiles.
"Have you had your first kiss?" She asks.
I wince and slowly nod.
"End bad?" She cringes.
"You could say that." I whisper.
She sits on my bed with one leg under her and takes off her hoodie. I sit up and look at her.
"You are gorgeous Wendla.
"Stop-
"No you are! And i cant help feeling you dont get treated how you should. Or appreciated how you should. I really feel like we can connect Wendla. Really i do. And i cant help think...I know if i do...i ju-"
I cut her off by slamming my lips into hers. She Puts her hands on my neck and i lean forward.
I break the kiss off and lean back waiting for a reaction. Thalia is shocked but then slowly smiles.
"Ive been waiting a long time for that." I mumble, blushing.
"Me too." Thalia smiles. "Me too."
"YOU WILL NEVER THINK OF THESE EMOTIONS AGAIN!"
I shudder and stare in horror at Thalia.
I start to shake.
"Hey hey hey!" Worry shows in Thalia's eyes. "Whats wrong?" She asks holding me.
"I cant do this. I cant do this." I start to cry as thalia holds me tight.
"No no no no no." I stumble.
"Hey look at me. Its okay Wendla. Trust me look at me."
...
I nestle my head in Thalia's breast as we lay on my bed.
I sit up and look into her beautiful eyes.
"Im sorry-"
She breaks it off by kissing me gently. She pulls me in tight and we fall down again. We part as i smell her beautiful cinnamon breath and lavander hair.
I stare into her eyes as she runs her hand along my leg.
"We'll be okay Wendla. We'll be alright."
