The next day Giselle rode to Jax's around five. And she saw Jax outside, tinkering with his bike while a little boy with big blue eyes and golden locks played in the grass. He walked over to Jax and plopped onto Jax's stomach. Jax 'oof'd' and got up, laughing. He kissed the little boy and held him close. Giselle took her helmet off and got off her bike. She gazed at the child. He was so beautiful. Giselle walked up,"Hey. ."
Jax looked up at her from the ground, holding Abel,"Hey, Giselle. Abel, meet Giselle. Giselle, meet Abel. My son."
This was a new side of Jax. A son? A beautiful baby boy? Giselle knelt down and let Abel's wrap his hand around a couple of her fingers,"Nice to meet you, Abel."
Abel was pretty good at talking. The kid was mega smart. "Giselle," He said with ease. He gave Giselle his version of a handshake.
"Are we taking him with us?" Giselle smiled at Abel softly. She had a soft spot for children.
"Oh nah. His mom's late picking him up," Jax chuckled. As if on que a white car pulled into the driveway. Wendy got out.
"I'm sorry, Jax. I got out of work late," Wendy walked over,"Hey baby." She hugged Abel then looked up at Giselle,". . Who are you?"
"I'm Giselle. Who are you?" Giselle blinked.
Wendy extended her hand,"Wendy. Nice to meet you." Giselle shook it. Wendy looked at Jax,"I'm sorry I was late. My boss wanted to talk to me."
Jax crossed his arms,"You in trouble?"
"No. Opposite actually. I'm getting a raise," Wendy looked so happy she was near tears. Wendy had been clean since Abel's birth and Abel was just a little over two years old.
Jax smiled and hugged Wendy,"Congratulations. See? Told you that you could get it." Wendy hugged him back then pulled away.
"Time to go, baby. Kiss daddy goodbye," Wendy handed Abel to Jax. They hugged and said their goodbyes and Jax kissed his son and then handed a bag of clothes and things to Wendy. "So, I'll see you in a few days." She looked at Giselle,"It was nice meeting you." She took Abel to the car and put him in his car seat.
After Wendy left Giselle looked at Jax,"I didn't know you had a kid."
"Yeah. Well, you've been avoiding me for three weeks," Jax replied,"Let me change clothes and we'll go." Jax led her into the house. Giselle sat on his couch as Jax went into his bedroom to change. He washed quickly and put a clean shirt on with some jeans and his cut. Jax walked out,"C'mon, let's go."
"Uhh. . Hold on," Giselle stopped him,"I know that the club is cool with unfaithful behavior, but I'm not. I don't want to date you. And I refuse to since you have a girlfriend."
"Wendy's my ex-wife," Jax said.
"I meant the slutty blond from last night."
". . . IMA? You think I'm with fucking IMA?" Jax laughed. Hard.
"I don't see what is so funny here."
"Ima is easy pussy when I get bored. I promise. I prefer my women to have a brain and unlike most women, Ima's brain cells inhabit her pussy permamately." Jax put an arm around her,"Sorry, you're not getting out of our date THAT easy."
Giselle sighed,"Where are we going?"
"You'll see." Jax led her out to his bike and got on. He handed her an extra helmet. Giselle put it on and got on behind Jax. After backing out, Jax took off. After a few minutes they passed the Leaving Charming sign. Giselle held onto Jax tightly. She laid her head on his back. The leather of his cut felt good on her skin. The hum of his bike was almost music to her ears. And the way Jax smelled was amazing. It was strange but. . She loved it. It was warm. The scent of leather mixed with his aftershave mixed with the scent of gasoline and oil. A weird combonation but Giselle loved it.
Jax smiled. It felt good to have her arms around him like this. He touched her hands softly as they rode. Jax's rough, calloused hand stroked Giselle's smooth, warm hands. Her skin was so soft. Why was it so natural to be like this with Giselle? Just yesterday she had tried to knock his shit in. And today, in no time at all, almost literally, Jax was so comfortable with her behind him that he was actually smiling. No cocky grin. A real smile.
After a short while Jax pulled over. They were in Oakland. They were safer here considering Niners and Sons were good. But this wasn't a really bad part of Oakland. It was kinda nice. But Jax had pulled up to a bar. Giselle got off and left the helmet Jax had given her on one of the handle bars. "They have bars in Charming," Giselle chuckled a little.
"Yeah, they do," Jax took her hand,"But this one has good food. C'mon." Giselle expected a place full of drunks and smoke. But when they walked in, it was smoke free. It was still a classic bar. But everyone there was smiling and talking or eating. It was a calm atmosphere. Music played from the stereo. . It was country. That surprised Giselle a lot too. Jax seemed more like a 'Guns n Roses' guy. Jax led her into a booth where they sat down. "So, what do you think?"
"I think I'm in a state of shock. I expected a biker bar," Giselle replied.
"Well, I'm glad to surprise." Jax handed her a menu.
After they ordered Giselle and Jax began talking. About little things. How Chibs had known her mom. How Jax knew Ima. How old Abel was. Things like that. Finally Giselle asked something a little more important,"Why aren't you with Abel's mother?"
Jax took a breath,"Wendy's an ex-junkie. When we were married, she got hooked sop bad I couldn't take it. I divorced her. After that she got clean for a few months and we got together for like a minute. Abel was the result. But she got hooked again. Almost killed herself and Abel in foul swoop. I love my son but after that. . Even though Wendy's been clean. . I don't love her." Giselle nodded, listening. "What about you? Anyone special in your life?"
"Is there was. . Would I be here?" Giselle countered.
"Point taken. But how come you don't date bikers?" Jax asked, drinking a beer.
Giselle hesitated,". . . The last biker I dated. . Was pretty rough." She touched her neck unconsciously.
". . Rough how?"
Giselle stroked her throat,"He used to beat me up. He choked me so bad I lost consciousness once." She took a sip of her Pepsi. "I woke up in the hospital. He'd beaten me bloody even after I was out."
"He ever rape you?" Jax asked, remembering how his mom had been beaten to a pulp.
Giselle swallowed hard,"Almost. I got away. . . But he came close. He just kept telling me how he loved me and no one else would. I was just this. . Pass around that he could do whatever he wanted to."
Jax touched her hand,"It's okay. You're with SAMCRO now. Chibs'll protect you. . And so will I." Giselle looked at him, unsure if she could trust him. "Hey, you're Chibs's daughter. That makes you family. That also means I lay down my life for you."
"That's a romantic notion, Jax. But I don't take pity and I never have," Giselle sighed.
"Not outta pity, darlin'. It's the way we operate." Jax watched her pick at her food. "Look, I like you a lot. And I haven't liked anyone in over a year. Not enough to actually get to know them. Ask Chibs."
"I did. Filip said your ex-fiance left you because you cheated on her with your pornstar friend."
"Yeah. . When I'm upset I think with my dick," Jax sighed. "But I loved Tara. I wanted to marry her. . ."
"Would you cheat on me?"
"No. I think you'd shoot me if I did. And if you didn't your crazy, Scottsman, old man would," Jax chuckled.
Giselle smiled,"Yeah. . Yeah he would."
Jax smiled and heard a song come on. He took her hand,"Come on."
"What?"
"Come on," Jax led her to the dancefloor. Jax pulled her close to him, golding one of her hands in his as the other rested on her waist.
"You know how to dance?" Giselle giggled.
Jax smiled at her,"Yeah, darlin'. My mom taught me more than how to kick ass."
(Because we all know Gemma is the one who taught Jax to whoop ass. Don't even deny it!)
After a moment she laid her head on his chest. She listened to the lyrics of the song. It was such a loving song. Something that made Giselle smile.
I can't imagine. . Any greater fear. . Than wakin' up without you here. . . And though the sun. . Would still shine on. . My whole world would all be gone. . . But not for long. .
Jax nuzzled against her fiery hair as they danced. She smelled so good. Warm and sweet. Her perfume smelled like vanilla but it mised with the strawberry scent of her hair. It surrounded him. It was an odd thing to enjoy in Jax's opinion. Creepy even. But her scent was something he loved. Jax gently pulled her closer. Giselle relaxed into Jax's arms.
If I had to run. . If I had to crawl. . . If I had to swim a hundred rivers. . Just to climb a thousand walls. . Always know that I would find a way to get to where you are. . There's no place that far. . .
Giselle held his hand a little tighter in hers, happily. This was just their first date and Giselle felt at home in Jax's embrace. But as those thoughts drifted into her mind she shoved them back out. No. Jax wasn't her boyfriend. And she couldn't be with him. As the song went on though, Giselle felt her body getting closer to Jax's.
After a minute Jax lifted her chin to look up at him. Giselle looked completely comfortable with his arms around her. Her emerald eyes looked into Jax's sweet and sexy baby blues. He leaned down to press his lips to Giselle's. Giselle closed her eyes, waiting for his kiss. But the moment was interrupted by loud, fast music. Jax chuckled and rested his head against Giselle's. Moment terminated. "One more dance?" He smiled gently.
Giselle nodded.
So, they danced and drank and ate. And they had a good date together. But as soon as Jax was dropping her off at Chibs's home Giselle got off Jax's bike. "Goodnight, Jackson," She smiled at him then turned to leave.
Jax grabbed her arm and pulled her close. "Goodnight, Giselle," He grinned and moved into her, bringing their lips close. Giselle gripped his cut. She wanted that kiss. But the roar of a Harley interrupted them. Jax groaned. "Damn it. . Motherfucking damn it. ." He grumbled.
"Jackie boy! Answer yer damn phone!" Chibs growled after cutting his bike engine.
Jax looked at him,"What's up?"
"Clay's called a meetin'. Y'need t'get there now," Chibs replied.
"A'ight," Jax sighed and looked up at Giselle. "Duty calls."
Giselle wanted that kiss but it would be awkward in front of Chibs. He WAS her God-father after all. So, she took a breath, relaxing. "Go on. Goodnight Jackson."
Jax took her pale hand and softly carressed it, kissing the back of her palm gently,"G'night." He started his bike and drove off with Chibs.
Giselle watched him leave. Then she remembered something. . . Giselle didn't have a car. . And her bike was at Jax's. . . FUCK!
The song I used was No Place That Far by Sara Evans. I do not own it at all I just love it.
