A/N: I completely forgot about this. ._.
But here you go, sorry for the delay!
Elsewhere, in the Ylissen barracks, Morgan and Sully were busy in a little sparring. That steel sword Morgan was given took surprisingly little time to adapt to, and as such, she got the hang of swinging it and not using magic. She did miss her Levin Sword, though. At least she'd get time for it once Robin and Lucina got back.
Sully was playing much more defensively this time around. Morgan swung a little too predictably and most of her strikes were parried.
"Come on, strike faster, Morgan!" shouted Sully.
"Yeah, well I'm not you, Sully. I excel with books, not swords!" she shouted, trying to push harder.
Sully showed a little surprise that Morgan made a sudden increase in offense, but shrugged it off as she kept outplaying her in swordsmanship.
"Watch yourself with that offense, Morgan," she advised. "You're holding the sword too tightly…"
Morgan took a mental note and loosened her grip a little to try and strike faster, but that would be her undoing in this spar, since with one fell strike towards the sword, Sully knocked it out of her hand and held her at bladepoint.
"…now, too lightly," said Sully with a confident expression. "I must admit, your little aggressive change right there surprised me."
"What can I say, dear granny? I aspire to be like my own father." said Morgan in response.
"Heh. Can't say I haven't heard that a million times. Let's take a break." said Sully, turning to walk away.
Morgan finally got a chance to sit down and think about the weekend. It wasn't pleasant, but at the same time it wasn't a living hell. Not a walk in the park nor a torture. Maybe she had misjudged her parents' decision to leave her with Sully, because, hard as it was to admit, she was enjoying it to some degree. The experience of not having them around was fairly unique to her. Even so, it left her with a bit of boredom at times, with no one else to be with.
Morgan was in such deep thought that she'd begun to reminisce of the past in her head.
There was nothing. She remembered having fallen unconscious after the spell, but nothing more. Literally all of her memory was gone when she woke. She didn't know what to do.
"Ugh...where am I?" she asked herself.
Morgan looked around. The area was an open space, on a floor that looked as if it were ice. She didn't know where she was. But she did know that they'd gone back. In time.
"Think, Morgan! What would Father do..."
Her thoughts were cut short by creatures rising from around her. Undead, with weapons. And a few began charging at her.
"Gah!" she yelled. "What are these things?!"
Morgan searched around her coat frantically, looking for that Arcfire she carried. Finding it, she began fighting back.
"Come on, you freaks!" she dared. "Come at me!"
She began casting fire spells against the hordes of undead that attacked her, landing every single one. She felt quite good about it, too. Unfortunately, her time seemed to be low on charge this time around.
Morgan noticed that the spells were getting less and less intense each time. The tome was breaking. And two more Risen were still alive.
"Drat!" she said to herself. "I'm cornered!"
Morgan slowly backed away from the monsters that meant to kill her, until she hit a wall. She was beginning to feel fear. Fear that she might not live to see the next day. She closed her eyes, arms covering her face.
"Thoron!"
A flash of lightning came from the heavens, frying both Risen in an instant. Morgan uncovered her eyes, noticing the charred corpses in front of her.
"What...?" she thought.
A man walked to the corpses, looking closely at them. A man with white hair and robes identical to hers.
"Chrom, that's the last of them!" he shouted, turning to the side. "The area's clear!"
Morgan recognized him instantly. He was Robin. Her father.
"Father!" she yelled, running to him.
Distraught, Robin turned to the source of the call, only to find himself hugged by the relieved Morgan. For a moment, he was baffled.
"Um...hi? Did you just call me...Father?" he asked.
"Yes! You're my father!" exclaimed Morgan. "I even have this ring to prove it!"
Morgan removed the ring she wore on her middle finger and showed it to him. Robin couldn't help but be surprised. It was identical to the one he proposed to Lucina with.
"By Naga..." he said. "So you're my daughter? What's your name?" he asked.
"Morgan."
"That's a nice name. I wouldn't have thought of it, honestly. So, you're from the future, I presume-"
"Robin? Who are you talking to?" asked a voice.
Robin turned to see Lucina gazing at him, curious.
"Is someone else there?" she asked.
"Yes." said Robin. "Lucina...this is our daughter, Morgan."
Robin took a sidestep to show Morgan, clearly nervous of the whole thing. She didn't remember her mother. Lucina was evidently confused as well.
"D-daughter?" she asked? "But how?"
"She's from the future, Lucina. Just like you. She even has that ring I offered you in marriage." said Robin.
Lucina kept staring at Morgan, still nervous. She couldn't believe her own eyes as she edged closer to Morgan and knelt in front of her.
"I...don't know what to say." said Lucina.
"What else besides being a wonderful moment, Lucina?" said Robin. "Now we have a daughter to love...and protect."
Lucina managed a smile and hugged her newfound daughter. She didn't see it coming, but now she was accepting of it...
"Morgan?" asked Sully.
Sully's call for Morgan's attention fell on deaf ears, evidently. Morgan was zoned out to an extreme, as in a very deep daydream. How Morgan managed to maintain her head resting on her heand was a mystery to Sully. Regardless, it was time to continue, so Sully needed to snap Morgan out of it.
"Here goes..." thought Sully.
Sully held a hand to Morgan's left ear, fixed in a finger snapping position.
"One...two...three."
Sully snapped her fingers, causing Morgan to jolt back to reality.
"Huh, what?" said Morgan, confused.
"Ylisse to Morgan, anyone home?" joked Sully, waving a hand in front of her face. Morgan looked up to her, worried that she'd left Sully waiting there for a long time.
"Uh, sorry Sully...you've caught me daydreaming." she said.
"It's fine, Morgan. Are you ready to continue sparring?" asked Sully.
"Yeah..."
Morgan stood up, grabbing the steel sword at her side.
"Let's go."
End Chapter Notes: My apologies for forgetting, I just got other things to do, and since writing is admittedly low on the list of what I'd do in my free time…jeez. That and the short chapter is due to me having a tiny bit of trouble spacing scenes, admittedly.
