Alright! A new chapter! Have fun! (I never use exclamation so much, now I feel dirty)
A few days after Snape's visit, Harry and Dudley were at the park with Piers and some of their other friends, talking about the last school year.
"So Harry where was it that you went again?" Adrian, one of their primary school friends.
"Umm, my parents' old boarding school. It's a little school in the middle of nowhere, really exclusive, you probably haven't heard of it." Harry rebuffed.
"Whatever mate," Adrian and the others laughed.
"Lay off Harry guys," Dudley interjected, "He's really proud of himself for getting into that poncy school of his and won't tell us much about it anyway. At least not much about the work, just that it's hard and stuff. Smeltings though is great. The teachers are really good and stuff. I wish you could've come."
They talked for another hour or so, until they heard Aunt Petunia calling them for dinner.
"See ya later guys," they parted.
Getting home they saw Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon sitting at the kitchen table waiting for them, dinner on the table.
"Harry, we wanted to talk to you more about Hogwarts and your friends," Aunt Petunia started.
"Like what?" Harry asked.
"Like how they treat you, are they good friends, keep you on the straight and narrow, studying, or do they distract you and get you into trouble? Because at the moment, I think they aren't the best for you," Uncle Vernon answered.
"Ron and Hermione are great!" Harry said adamant, "Hermione helps me study, and Ron is a fun guy to hang around with."
"Do you talk to anyone other than Ron and Hermione?"
"Sometimes I speak to Neville and Dean and Seamus... Oh and there's Malfoy, but he's not really a friend. No-one else really spoke to me, huh that's odd, I was so popular here, and there I'm a celebrity, but I only speak to, like, six people, I've never really thought about that. And Ron and Hermione do get annoying like on the train, god they were all like abuse, poor Harry, like they knew better than me, knew you better than me, Harry realised.
"So you only have two friends? Who keep distracting you? Severus said that your grades were average, that's not like you, you love school, what happened?" Aunt Petunia prompted.
"We had to figure out who was trying to get the Philosopher's Stone and stuff, which, when I think about it, was really stupid to put it in a school when Voldemort was trying to get it," Harry tried to explain poorly, "Hang on, average marks? Only average? Professor McGonagall said I was Exceeds Expectations and above in all my classes, why would she lie?"
"Maybe there is something else going on, and I really don't want you going back there next year, not after what happened this year. That is a really poor school when they don't tell us when you're injured," Uncle Vernon said.
"I have to go back, Ron and Hermione…" Harry protested.
"We are your guardians, we'll talk to you about it, but ultimately it's our decision." Aunt Petunia put her foot down.
They didn't talk about Hogwarts for the rest of dinner, only about what happened that day, Aunt Petunia's new gossip, about Uncle Vernon's prospective promotion to CEO of Grunnings. However Harry was still worried about his future at Hogwarts, although this was tempered by concerns about Ron and Hermione.
Alright, so I'm really bad at writing chapters in a timely manner. Haha this chapter and the last were mostly written when I was procrastinating about doing an Ancient History assignment. Does anyone know anything about the Shang Dynasty River Valley Civilisation? I apologise for any misspelled words and the like, I don't have a beta or proofreader or anything, I literally just write these things and post them. Again I appreciate the reviews, they make me feel like I'm doing something right. I have never written fanfics before and the only things I do write are for school. I can't tell you when the next chapter will be up; I had writers block on this one too; that or lack of motivation :P But anyway it's done now. This is a smaller chapter than the others but I'm happy with it anyway. So I hope you've enjoyed it and have a great day/night/whatever.
