Episode 3: Mysteries within the Ruins

From the Eastern Horizon with the sun high in the sky, Link rides on Epona as Gigorax rolls beside him. As they arrive at the Relic Ruins, Link noticed Snowbeard witha small group of his tribe examining the ruins. Along side them were groups of Gorons and Rito researching the ruins. "I thought you were researching the ruins by yourself," Link said, not expecting to see other researchers. Gigorax unrolled himself and looked to Link as he replied, "I never said I was researching alone. We are all researching this place in hope to find some answers about the tribe that used to live here." Link got off his horse and walked toward Snowbeard with Gigorax by his side. He noticed them walking towards him as he turns around and waves. "Ah, if it isn't the King himself! Its been too long, Link, how have you been?" Snowbeard asked, Link giving him a shrug. "Not much, just been doing my royal duties is all," Link replied, as Snowbeard shook his hand greeting him. "So what brings you here?" Snowbeard asked Link, Gigorax explaining the events at the festival to him. Snowbeard rubbed his chin and said, "Ah, I see. If it's the cure you're looking for, I sadly have to say I don't know it. But, maybe there are some answers in the Dark Realm." Link looked to him puzzled and said questionably, "Wait, I thought there was no way to exit the Dark Realm." "That was true back then, but after our research, we have invented a way to travel to and from the Dark Realm," Snowbeard responded, pulling out a necklace with a small lantern on it. Link softly took the necklace from Snowbeard and examined it with a confused expression, as Snowbeard explained, "After studying the contraption that opened the portal to the Dark Realm, we discovered that it was created by the tribe to enter the Dark Realm. You see, the Goddesses were not happy with their sacrifices and tributes to an Deity that was referred to in the old texts as the Fierce Deity. The Goddesses finally had enough and sent down the Guardians of the Sun and Moon to keep them from continuing their sacrificing. Somehow, the tribe was able to seal the guardians by luring them into the temples. We don't now exactly what they did but further research has shown the Guardians were able to still use there powers. Anyway, they eventually created that machinery you see today to open a portal to a world where they will not of to be ruled over by the Goddesses." Link rubbed his beard and asked, "How does it work though?" Snowbeard hit him on the head with his walking stick and replied, "I wasn't finished. Anyway, the Guardians knew a song that had the goddesses call forth three beams of light that would wipe out the tribe. The tribe some how predicted where the beams were going to hit and got the Guardians to sing the song. The beams of light that were reflected off these specially made mirrors caused a rapture in this worlds boundaries and created a gateway to a world that the Goddesses had no power in. And after that, that's where the entries ended." Link rubbed his beard and looked at the small trinket more. "How do you know if it works? Have you used it before?" Link asked as Snowbeard shook his head. "We are not completely sure it works. We were hoping to see you again so you could help us with our research. You're the only one that knows the song that summons the beams of light. This was built just from our science and research," Snowbeard replied, Link looking back at Gigorax and then back to the Lantern Necklace. He puts it on and thought for a minute, not thinking that he would need his violin this time before they left. He got an idea as he puckered his lips leaving a small hole. He started to whistle the tune he still remembered from six years ago, Snowbeard moving to the side as well as the researchers to give him a pathway. The Lantern Necklace started to glow as it shot a red, blue, and green beam of light towards the Central Tower, but stopped half way there. A purplish, black portal appearing before them. "It seems to work well, Snowbeard. Now the question is can we return back to our realm," Link said, looking to Snowbeard. "Why not teach the song to me, that way we have a way of getting you back in this realm," Gigorax suggested, Link rubbing his beard thinking for a moment. "That would be a wise idea. Alright, I will teach you it," Link said, quickly teaching Gigorax the song to open the gateway between realms. Gigorax saving it inside his memory as he looked to Link and said, "Alright, now you go through the portal and we will wait about half n' hour for you to try and return back." Link nods as he looks to the portal and starts on his way, looking back to everyone to get one last look before he went in the portal.

Link entered into the Dark Realm, not far from where Paradorax's Tower used to be. "Even after six years, this realm never changed," Link thought to himself, looking over the rubble before he began to whistle the tune. As he was about to finish, a whisper in his head softly said, "In the rubble..." Link looked around him to find the source of the whisper, but found no one. "Where are you! Show yourself!" Link shouted, but know one answered. He looked to the rubble like the whisper said and started to look through it. He searched through it for several minutes until he found a passage door built onto the floor of the once standing tower, under a pile of stone shards. He knelt over and opened it, revealing a hidden staircase leading underground. As if curiosity was pushing him forward, Link started his way down the stairway.

As he continued descending into the deep passage his vision was blocked by the darkness that inhabited it. Link stopped in his tracks and tried to find a light source but none was to be seen. As he continued to search, he began seeing a white pulse that moved light a sonar. Anything the pulse went by it took the form, allowing Link to identify where the stairs were. He continued down the stairs until the radar-like pulse was forming a doorway at the bottom. Link went through the doorway as his vision slowly returned to normal. "And now my vision is normal? How was I even able to see like that anyway? Could it be the infection?" He began to ask himself, noticing he was now in a dark purple room. The room only had one light source which was coming from underneath a podium. As he walked closer to it, he saw a familiar looking figure on it. He said to himself as he standing over it and having a sudden flashback six years prior, "Its that mask that Gigorax was talking about when we were on our way to defeat Paradorax." As he stared at it, slowly picking it up, he heard voice that sounded like a young girl laugh. Link looked around the room for the source of the laughter, the same voice echoing throughout the room, "Hehehe, you have met with an unfortunate fate, haven't you?" The mask began to wiggle inside Link's hands, looking back to the mask he drops it and backs away. The mask began to float, the eyes lighting up as the grooves in the mask glowed red. The mask laughs again and says to him, "So you are the destined seed the elders were talking about." Link looked at the floating mask and asked, "Destined seed? What do you mean?" The mask floated closer to him and just gave him a long stare with its piercing eyes, it finally answering, "The Seed of the Apocalypse..."
