Gekko Moriah

The World gets the Leadership it deserves. That's why it never deserved Fleet Admiral Monkey D. Luffy.

Blood dribbled down from Moriah's amputated right leg. It took all he could to not scream in pain from the dismemberment. Even so Moriah could help but continue gasping for air. The fighting had gone on for the entire night with nearly a hundred of his underlings dead by the end of it. Yet the opposing crew still remained strong.

"Oh," growled Moriah as he tried to send a shadow after the captain.

He had been getting rusty if someone of only 17 million could push him to such limits. There was no denying it. Through a combination of skill and excellent timing the crew of eight had practically transformed Thriller Park into a death trap. But Moriah was not a warlord for nothing.

"SHADOW'S –," he shouted right before stepping back a little and giving a scream of pain once again entered his lips. His two hands had been cut off as well.

All he could do was look at the bleeding stumps and shake with rage.

"Did you really think our captain was going to take you on by himself?" questioned a female voice from his right.

Standing over one of the pillars was a swordswoman, with two katana in her hands. Her purple tinted and out of breath face registered with Moriah, showing that his underlings had put up something of a fight.

"Thank you Felicity," commented the Captain offhandedly before shooting Felicity with a purple energy blast from his spear. Felicity didn't seem to mind as the burst itself slammed into her. Moriah could recognize the signs of fatigue and injury leaving her body the moment it touched her.

Yet Moriah noticed the exact same ability had practically crippled his zombies with energy. They amount of energy they had burnt was astronomical, making their bodies tear themselves limb from limb.

SLAM!

Once again an energy blast had smashed into Moriah's body pushing him back and once again Moriah could feel his bones break once more which practically allowed Felicity to cut his arm off once more. Nevertheless Moriah could tell that the pair were getting tired from the fight. "Dark echoes" was one of the fifteen abilities he had witnessed the Captain use throughout their battle. The primary function seemed to be to make him more susceptible to damage as when the blast wasn't targeting him Felicity could do little more than give him a shallow cut.

"I will not be defeated," growled Gekko as he attempted to fight on triple amputated and on the verge of death.

Stealing the shadows of this pair was useless as well. Monkey D. Luffy's ability seemed to make him glow a dusty purple right before he used them. And they somehow managed to counter-act his shadow abilities. Just what was their devil fruit?

"Has Varendick and Rusetalam taken care of the zombies?" question Luffy as he dodged one of brick bats Moriah sent towards him before dashing to the side.

"They should be in the process of doing so," replied Felicity as she sliced another one of Moriah's brick bats.

"Good," nodded Luffy before sending a streak of lighting towards Moriah. The yellow streak of lighting stunned the Warlord in place for a few seconds.

It was more than enough time for Felicity to cut off his head though. The world stood still as Moriah's headless corpse fell. Then a fountain of black blood and shadows poured out of what had once been his neck. All across the ground shadows streaked away in random directions, trying to find their owners.

Not that Luffy cared about that. He wanted to lie down and rest for the moment but that would be incredibly foolish to do so. Cuts, scratches and bruises from falling concrete, sharp steel and glass surround Luffy's body but they were relatively minor.

"Quickly," pointed out Luffy, "Contact the ship and begin bombardment of this island."

Nodding at his orders, Felicity pulled out her baby den-mushi.

"Code 1003" she shouted through the speaker as the two of them ran into the courtyard that Oars was rampaging through. The daemon they had used to posses his body with was killing ever single zombie in sight.

The body of Oars had certainly seen better days. Not only was it Hogback's handiwork and stitching but also from the spikes and blots of blue liquid that was steeping through its veins. Varendick had made it the first priority to kill Hogback to prevent any future zombies from rising and overwhelming them while they were distracted.

Yet Hagit still had a hard time control the giant. Luffy could see it all the way from here. She was struggling to get the thing to move while she sat on its head possessing it. The blue clots also seemed to be channelling their way to Hagit as well just as Luffy had expected yet it seemed that they were waiting.

Through the other "mysterious four", Absalom, who was giving the most trouble to the crew. Making sure that Hagit had full control of the demon and the frost covered landscape was their first priority. Beating the daemon down mentally was something Hagit could and was currently doing but it had taken nearly a week of preparation for her to do it for long periods of time comfortably.

Keeping that Daemon down and away from possessing Hagit was the biggest problem of this entire attack. That was all she practiced.

The surrounding ice and water were her doing as well but even Hagit had limits, unlike the Admiral. Further-more controlling Oars had required the practice with the daemon, Luffy and Hagit herself.

Absalom on the other hand was being dealt with by Baileara and Bon-Clay. With Baileara's senses and Bon Clay's martial arts the pair had been able to slash and cut Absalom to shreds, despite his invisibility, then throw his corpse into the ocean.

Varendick and Rusetalam had been support for the most part of this fight, keeping everyone in shape and cared for. That was the reason why Luffy and Felicity had been able to take on Moriah without any problems. Both of his doctor and master at arms were strong fighters, Rusetalam being the on par with Felicity herself but at the moment they needed to support their fellow crew members.

It was Varendick himself who had kept the ghosts of Perona at bay before stabbing her to death.

Even so Luffy couldn't help but feel slightly uneasy, over the canon-fire, with the whole operation.

I specifically tailored this plan to fight Moriah and his crew and it was still a hard fight.

Destroy the zombies had been quite easy for both Rusetalam and Varendick. They're share of combat with zombies from two years ago gain in handy once again. Bon-Clay's and Baileara's fight had gone off well enough although the punctured wounds they had been dealt with were problematic.

If we had gone after any other warlord we would have been killed. Crocodile wouldn't have been effect by my abilities, Hancock has an island full of Haki users, Mihawk would have killed us in a heartbeat, Doflamigno's too powerful and I can't get any information about Kuma.

Moriah had been chose for a reason. But the problem was, once the gunfire had and fighting finished and Luffy got his Warlord rank, was all the people that would come after him. This was just the beginning.
