OoOOOoO
Tao opened his eyes, to see, that he had had that same dream again. Every year, on his birthday, for some reason, something would always remind him of how he ended up here, with the same tall man that had rescued him when he was 6 and a half years old, Kris. He always wondered what would've happened if Kris hadn't saved him that day. He would've awoken, not in his arms, but in the middle of the cornfield. He might've died, of sunstroke, dehydration, bug bites, anything bad could have happened to him, but didn't, because Kris had saved him.
He checked his clock, and realized that it was only 5 o'clock in the morning. He thought he should go back to sleep, but then again, he was afraid he might get those bad memories again. Sure he was glad and happy of the ending, where Kris had saved him and all, but he hated the beginning. He didn't want to see his birth father covered in blood, lying on the floor, motionless and breathless again. He hated that image in his brain, he was disgusted of it.
"Should I go for another walk?" He thought to himself. Tao always loved to take long walks alone. Most of the times, he would go to the beach, because he loved to see other people happy, but who would be at the beach at 5am?
He decided, he would just go for a quick walk to the nearby park, then back. It was only a few blocks away from where Tao and Kris lives now. They lived in an small apartment, which Kris had rent for the two of them. It wasn't much, but it was enough for them. To Tao, as long as you're with the one you care for, anywhere is home.
Tao got out of his bed, and grabbed the blue jacket, Kris had gotten him for his last birthday. Tao always wore it, because for some reason, it made him feel safe, like no one in the world could hurt him. He slowly snuck out of his room, and checked Kris's room, just to make sure that he was asleep. He peeked through the door, trying to be as quiet as he could, because one thing he was sure of, Kris's door was squeaky. He hadn't oiled it for a while, and now every time you opened it, it would make a loud squeaky noise, that Tao was sure, it would awaken his father, well... God father...
Once the door was wide enough for him to peek through, he saw that Kris was still fast asleep. Tao sighed. It was a good thing that Kris wasn't aware of what Tao was doing. Kris may be a great father and all, but one thing that Tao doesn't really like of him, was the way he could be a bit over protective sometimes. He doesn't want his dad to worry. Tao quickly closed Kris's door, and he was glad that it didn't make that much noise this time. He then stood up, and walked to the kitchen, which was where he kept his shoes. As he put them on, he was ready to go, but by the time he had reached the front door, he was startled by the voice of his god father right behind him.
"Where do you think your going?"
Right behind him, was the very person who had saved him many years ago, the person who had cared for him, and had raised him to who he is now. That person, was Kris.
"I.. I just.. I.. Um..."
The look on Kris's face made Tao nervous. Kris always had that ability. It's like some spell, which makes whoever he looks at feel like jelly. Mostly, it's in his eyes, but the entire face plays in the action too. Tao now just feels like melting.
"Well?"
"Dad, I can explain..."
"Then explain"
Tao took in deep breath, as he tried to pull himself together. He looked at Kris, and saw him looking straight into his eyes. Tao feels like he had made a horrible decision. He swallowed hard, and decides, he should just tell the truth.
"I've been having a bad dream, and I just wanted to go out for a walk to clear my mind". Tao thought that he did pretty good at that one, he was telling the truth anyways, so what would it matter?
"At 5 in the morning? Are you sure?"
Tao was confused, listening to what his father had just said to him. He always takes walks by himself. But then again, he had just realized that he had never walked alone while it was dark, besides coming home late from school, but that was different. At that time, he still saw people on the sidewalk, walking, talking with other people. This time, the entire place would be empty, no one, not a single soul would be there, and what Tao hates the most, being alone. It would always remind him of when he was alone in the cornfield, screaming and yelling for help, while no one came, except for Kris, that is. Tao hated to be alone, sometimes he even get scared taking a bath alone. He would sometimes ask his dad to wait for him, or to accompany him. Now, he would be walking in a place which was dark and empty.
Tao looked out the window, and started to have second thoughts. Maybe he shouldn't go out there. Maybe he should go back to his room.
Kris, seeing Tao's face, couldn't bare to see him suffer like this. Tao was bothered by the nightmares, and was scared of being alone. He has to do something.
"I'll accompany you" Kris said to his son. Tao, hearing his father's words, smiled. Tao loves his dad so much, and one of the reasons, was that he would always no what to do whenever he was down. Tao gritted his teeth, while stomping cutely on the floor. Although he was 21 years old, Tao sometimes act as if he were younger, and after learning Korean with his father, he would sometimes admit that he was kyeopta and also loves showing off his aegyo. Kris sees him do these things, but he just thinks their cute.
"Gimme a minute to put on my shoes" Kris says, as he reached down for them. After putting on their shoes, Kris and Tao walked outside, into the clod dark night. It was quite chilly at this time of day, not to mention it was still the very beginning of spring, and the town was still covered by a few spots of snow. Tao had walked step by step, as his worries start to fade away, and he was glad that Kris was here, and that he didn't have to worry about being alone.
It was his 21 birthday, and he had started it with his god father. He was glad. He doesn't have to feel pain anymore. This was what he wanted.
Kris, seeing his son smile again, was glad. He wanted to cherish this moment forever. But that feeling didn't last long, until he had gotten that feeling again. The feeling that it wasn't so safe anymore. The same feeling he had gotten on the day he found Tao. He had to go back. They had to go back, back home, to where it was safe. He looked at Tao, and he was still walking happily...
"Tao, I think we should head back home now"
"Why? We've only been walking for around 20 minutes or so..."
"We have to go back now"
"Wait, wha..." Tao didn't even have time to finish his sentence, and Kris had pulled him. He dragged him back al the way to the house. Tao was about to ask him why he had done that, but then he changed his mind, when he saw Kris was now sweating, his face down, and he had fallen onto the couch. He looked exhausted, even though they hadn't even been running or anything.
"Dad, are you ok?". Tao had asked about six times or so, but he wouldn't answer. But he wasn't staying quiet either. As Tao asked, Kris had been whispering and mumbling something to himself, yet Tao couldn't hear him. But the longer he whispered, the louder he got. The final sentence, Kris had said, the only thing Tao heard, was something strange, and came out of no where...
"She's coming..."
That was the end of this chapter, and I bet you're wondering who this "she" person might be... don't worry, no one is going to fall in love with her, because I know how ya one of you hate the way you're EXO members are being taken by someone else, so no one's taking anyone... But maybe I might put in a bit of Hunhan and Baekyeol in here yes, the other members will also be here) but it will mostly be TaoRis, Cuz I love them... Anywho, hope you like this chapter, and keep waiting fort the next one...
please leave a review for me... Gomawo...
