Authors Note: Look at that, it has not been 6 months since i last posted. It would have been sooner if my beta reader would read it fast, but she is good to me and eventually reads it and fixes it. It was a long ride to Jerusalem and as each hour went by the feeling in my gut got worse.
I almost felt Nats glaze on me, but I ignored here.
I knew if she got me alone she would ask what was wrong.
"So Clint how are you feeling, you know with what happened" Steve asked after a long time of since.
"I'm fine, the drugs in my system are gone, so yeah I'm good" I don't want talk about it I know I'm not fine. I felt sick to my stomach. I don't know why the whole team had to go on this mission. I could be home sleeping this off.
"Do you know who those guys where that attacked you" this time Bruce piped in.
" NO, but it's not the first time or last time this has happened"
Nat snorted from her seat. " What is this number 12 this year"
"Ha, I'm not the only one who has been chased through the city" I could count 12 times too, but I won't say that out loud in fear of being hit.
"But how many times whined up with you in the hospital and me in the hospital"
"All right children spies we are here" Tony stopped our bickering.
I enjoyed being distracted because as soon as Tony said here the feeling in my gut got even worse. So much that the jet felt like it was shining for a second.
"So we need to split up now, Cap Thor and Widow will go to the first spot. The Bruce, Hawk, and I will go the other spot here" in front of Tony was a map with our 2 locations.
"At each location are temples, these temples look to date back to the 1600's. So it's safe to assume it's highly dangerous to walk through, so please don't not touch anything till I can check it."
" Yeah, yeah don't touch or things fall and you get hurt or die" I know what going through a temple is like, wait do I? How do I know that, whatever.
" Well that's one way put it Clint. Any everyone good to go" everyone nodded in agreement.
We broke up into our team, and grabbed our gear.
Nat stopped me and pulled me to the side .
"Clint" she did not need to say anything for me to know what she asked, what's wrong?
" Nothing I'm good, I just think the drug is not fully out of my system, but I'm good."
"Clint, you looked stick to your stomach when we landed, I saw you" can't keep anything from a spy even if you are one.
" Like I said the drug is lingering still and when we landed I felt car sick or jet sick" I need to get away before she locks me in the quinjet.
"Clint, Nat you guys coming" oh thank God for Steve. I smiled at Nat and ran out with Bruce and Tony.
"You two making kissy faces in there" Tony always thinks when we are alone we make out, that would have been better than what I just went through.
Tony winced as Nat gave him a death glare.
Nat whispered something to Bruce when she thought I was not looking and I could guess about what.
We started walking in towards our location. Everywhere you looked was sand and sand buildings or that what they looked like. Every now and again I saw a head pop out and then disappear again. Must be the villagers, they looked scared and hungry. I wish I could help them, but that's not the mission, maybe later we could come back and bring food and clean water.
"So Clint how are you feeling" Bruce brought me out of my train of thought.
"What" I almost yelled, good job Clint could you be any louder. Why not just yell I'm not ok, who does that?
"You know that night we can to your rescue and the drugs" Right that
"Oh right, yeah I'm fine, just the drugs throw me through a loop" it was not a lie.
I think Bruce gave up on me for now and started talking to Tony about the science of what we might find.
After about 15 minutes of walking we finally arrived to a very vacant looking temple. It looked like most of the other building here, but this one had some kind writing around there door.
Also I feel like it has a blue glow to it, but the hat might be the drugs and the heat.
Tony stopped before we got to the door.
"What's wrong Tony, don't want to wake the ghost with all your science talk." Bruce looked at me and laughed and Tony resumed walking.
"Stop" I yelled, I don't know why but I could see a brighter blue glow from one of the tiles.
Both Tony and Bruce had the look that they thought I was crazy, they are probably not wrong there.
"Move back" I pulled out an arrow and shot it at the tile Tony was about to step on, when I did arrows shot out of the wall.
"H-how did you know that was there" Bruce look like he was a little green.
" I saw that the tile was different then the rest" I lied out of my ass, they don't need to know I'm crazy.
"Well thanks for not letting me become swiss Tony, so I will let you lead now" I could tell Tony had a hint of being scared in his voice.
So I took the lead, I could almost see the traps go off before I even knew they were there. It was like they were holograms that only i could see. I will talk to nat when I get back because I know I'm going crazy.
After about 30 minutes of traps, dead ends, and Tony finally using his suit to go the right way we made it to a large room.
" Is it me or is the room glowing blue" oh thank God Bruce saw it too. I was so happy it was not just me anymore.
"Yeah I see it too" I walked into the room first, I had an arrow at the ready. As I walked through the threshold, I noticed this room looked a lot more modern than a temple made in the 1600's. For one it looked like their where holograms of pictures on the wall. Each picture had a different person on it. Some were dressed in an elegant white hooded outfit, the ones in the white outfit has these almost triangular looking shapes on them. Also lots of weapons, guns, swords, hidden blades coming from the wrist area, and much much more. There were also guys that had the same symbol as the guys that attacked me. The guys with the symbols either where dead on the ground or looking at one of the men in white.
How did this tie into my attackers. As I walked further in a figure appeared in front of me. She was wearing a long dress, I could not tell much of what else she had on me she was also see through.
I looked at Tony and Bruce to see if they noticed but they just walked past me.
Oh great I can see a princess ghost, I just like adding those things to my list of oh shit only I can see.
I think she was trying to say something to me, but I could hear nothing.
"How is this all possible, this temple has had no signs of being tampered with since they were raided over 100 years ago." I could hear Bruce and Tony talking but they sounded so far away.
"None of this should be possible."
The lady moved to one of the pillars in the room and touched it. I felt like I was being pulled towards it, like I had no control over it. I looked over at the others, but were too busy looking at the images to care what I was doing. I tried to yell out to them that I was not in control of my body anymore, but I could not talk either.
The next thing i knew I was touching the pillar and the room started to shake and glowing even more.
"What the hell did you do clint" that was the last thing heard before my vision white.
