The next day, Misty was wandering the castle when she heard Ariel calling out for Melody. "Is it Melody's birthday today?" she asked.
Ariel smiled and nodded. "She's 12 today. But I can't find her anywhere." she said.
Misty was puzzled. "She'll probably turn up in time for the party. I hope so anyway." she said.
A few hours later, Misty heard Melody and Ariel conversing as they prepared the young girl for the party. Misty walked in. "Melody, you're soaked." the redhead said.
Melody smiled sheepishly. "I've been in the bath." she said simply.
Misty sighed and sniffed. "And you smell like seawater." she said.
Melody sighed. "I like having lots of salt in my bathwater." she said.
Misty admitted defeat. "Alright, but I'm keeping a close eye on you." she said.
After another few hours, Misty was standing beside Ariel as Melody danced with a boy about her own age. Suddenly there was a yelp from the boy as he stumbled backward and fell in the punch bowl. Misty giggled. "Just like Ash." she said.
Melody was embarrassed and ran to her room. Misty and Ariel went up to comfort her. Suddenly, Ariel gasped. "That locket. Where'd you get it?" she asked.
Melody sighed. "I've been regularly sneaking under the wall to swim." she said.
Ariel was furious. "You've been disobeying and lying to me all this time! Now you're grounded!" she cried.
Melody burst into tears. "I know you're hiding something from me. If you won't tell me, I'll just have to find out on my own." she cried.
Ariel was distraught as Melody ran out the door. Misty walked in. "Oh, Misty. What have I done?" Ariel asked.
Misty smiled. "I'll go after her. Then you can tell her the truth." she said.
Ariel smiled. "Yes, Misty. Go get my daughter before she runs into Morgana." she said.
But by the time Misty had found Melody's location from the servants, the young girl was already gone out to sea in a boat. Misty smiled. "Gyarados, I choose you!" she cried.
Misty rode on the back of her Gyarados until she caught up to Melody. Then the redhead noticed how cold it was. "Where are we?" she asked.
Melody smiled. "Ask her." she said, pointing to a tall thin lady with octopus tentacles.
The lady smiled. "Hello, my dears. I'm Morgana." she said.
