Bella skipped into the alleyway. "Another innocent, Edward? What happen to rapists and murders?" She caught on. "New slayer in town? Good enough to catch you? A boy? Not a Buffy-type?" Her eyes sparkled—because she was new and easily excited and hadn't seen a slayer in action yet.

Edward didn't answer any of her questions. He didn't want to think of slayers. At least that slayer—they were supposed to be easy game; this one wasn't. He ran.

"Okay, don't answer. Have fun being a stereotype!" He heard her blow a raspberry in his direction.
