Tenten went and stepped in front of the mirror. The reflection made her gasp slightly; she had managed to even shock herself. It was as if she was another person!
She was going to have to adjust to looking at herself like this everyday from now on.
She unconsciously tugged at the navy blue blazer and the loose white shirt that did not really suit her body. The dark trousers and shiny black shoes would be easier to handle. If her mother saw her like this… she couldn't imagine her reaction. She giggled to herself. Wait… she was going to have to get rid of that habit. Boys did not giggle.
She coughed and straightened up. She was now officially a student of Senju High School, one of the most prestigious high schools in Konoha. Her parents had been not-so-pleasantly astonished when she mentioned the name, and were slightly worried such a classy school would reject her; especially when she wanted to randomly join in the middle of the school year.
But Tenten had insisted on this school. Why? Because this was the one Uchiha Sasuke went to.
Enrolling had not really been as big of a problem as her parents had made it to be. As soon as the school had seen her report card and the long list of achievements as well as certificates, they happily let her in.
Thus, she was now wearing the Senju High uniform. Not just that… she was wearing the Senju High boy's uniform.
She gave her short wig a light pat. It was uncomfortable, but tolerable. She would rather have this than cut off her hair. She still wanted a bit of girlishness to remain in her, even if it was going to have to be kept a secret.
Good thing her parents were not here to see her like this.

"Mom, dad; I want to go back to Konoha."
Both her parents gaped at her for a few seconds. Her mother wiped her hands on a dry cloth and stepped over to her daughter; placing hands on her shoulder.
"Tenten, honey, what's wrong? Are you being bullied at school? Is it…"
"No, mom." She snorted. Her mother studied her expression, frowning.
"But…then… then Why?" was the first thing she managed to say.
"Well…" she started.
"Nothing, really. It's just that… I miss Konoha, that's all."
"But I thought you were doing fine here!" Her mother exclaimed, unconsciously gripping her shoulders.
"This… this is so sudden! I mean…"
"I miss my friends." She sighed. That was a lie. She doubted any of her old friends (except for those Uchiha boys) still remembered her. As strange as it sounded though, she hoped that they didn't. If not, then her plan would be a bit more complicated.
"Tenten, it's not that easy, you know. I mean, we've settled in; your father is doing great at work… we've made friends…and…"
"I can go back alone." She suggested casually. Her mother gaped at her again.
"A…Alone? But who would take care of you?"
Tenten shrugged.
"I can cook, I can clean… I mean, I'm old enough to take care of myself, aren't I? It can train me to be independent. Plus, if anything goes wrong, the Uchihas will be around." She inwardly snorted. Yeah, like she was really going to go beg them for help. Her mother smacked herself in the forehead.
"Why can't I?" Tenten asked. Her mother looked at her husband, who had only been listening the whole time.
"Say something, will you!"
The kitchen's attention was turned to Tenten's father, who scratched his head.
"Yeah… why can't she?" He stated.
Score.
Tenten's mother was strong, but one could ever prevail against two!

"Remember, when it gets cold, wear that fleece jacket we bought you… it's in the suitcase. Be careful when you're cooking, would you? Don't burn the apartment down for goodness sake; your neighbors don't need anymore trouble. Oh, and don't talk to strangers, especially male strangers. Actually, try not to talk to the male species in general…"
"What's wrong with us?" Tenten's father asked leaning over her shoulder. His wife turned and gave him a death glare.
"Shut up." She snapped. "If it weren't for you, our little girl wouldn't be leaving us right now!"
"Mom, I'm not leaving you!" Tenten laughed.
"I'm just going to Konoha; I'll call you guys and stuff."
Her mother sighed.
"Just be careful, alright?" She asked, giving her daughter a peck on the cheek.
"Don't do anything… crazy"
"I won't, mom, don't worry."
She gave both her parents a hug and turned towards the gates of the airport.
Oh, what she was going to do was beyond crazy.

Tenten took one step into the Senju High School gates and stopped. She stared. Her jaw dropped open. Had she just mistakenly walked through the gates of Buckingham Palace? It sure felt like she had. This place was…'ridiculous', was the word Tenten thought most fit. It looked more like a museum rather than a school.
The first thing that caught Tenten's eye was a large marble statue of a man with long hair, standing a few dozen yards away from the gate. It was beautifully sculpted to every last detail. She wondered who it was. Maybe she could go take a look? She took a step towards it.
"Ow!" She yelled, rubbing her sore temple. A soccer ball had flown and bounced off of her head, momentarily knocking the breath out of her. Apparently, she was in the right place after all.
"Sorry about that!" Someone shouted. Tenten turned towards the voice and saw a blonde boy running towards her. She immediately noticed his eyes; they were the bluest eyes Tenten had ever seen. He was very tan, well built, but lacked slightly in height. She also noticed he had something resembling whiskers running across his cheeks.
"Blame Lee!" He laughed, stopping next to her.
"You'd think he had a better aim." He struck a thumb towards a group of boys from afar, watching the two of them. She studied each one, and was relieved Sasuke was not amongst them. She did not want to have to deal with him already, practically 5 seconds after walking into the school.
One of the boys in the group, however, caught Tenten's attention. He had very, very pale eyes, almost white. He stood slightly taller than the rest and unlike the blonde standing in front of her, he had fair skin. The thing which interested her the most was his head of long, thick, dark hair.
Damn, if she had known boys in Konoha had long hair, she would have saved the trouble of buying this itchy wig. Oh well, it was too late now.
"Err… can we have the ball back now?" The blond asked.
"Oh… sorry." She replied sheepishly, handing the ball back.
"Oi! Naruto, hurry up, will you?" The boy with the white eyes yelled.
"Alright, I'm coming, Hyuga!" The blond called back. "Asshole." He added under his breath, and ran back towards his bunch.
"Hyuga…" Tenten thought.
Suddenly, the shrill sound of a bell ringing brought her back to reality. She checked her watch. She had five minutes to get to her first lesson. What was her first lesson? She checked her timetable. 'Homeroom – Room A77'.
She sprinted across the grass and rushed into the building. Looking left, then right, she saw signs pointing to the 'Dining Hall', the 'Lecture Hall', the 'Theatre' and 'Library', but there was no A77, not even anything similar. Next to her, students were shuffling pass; plainly, they all knew where they were going. Should she ask for directions? She shook that idea out of her head. The male species did not ask for directions. She knew that rule all too well; recalling the times when her father would get them lost in road trips and her parents would have some of the stupidest arguments.
She panicked slightly. Where was a map when she needed one?
"Do you need some help?"
Yes! Thank kami-sama for his mercy!
A girl with bright pink hair and foam green eyes smiled at her. Wait a minute…pink hair? Was everyone in the school so strange?
"Um, yeah, I do." Tenten replied, handing the girl her timetable.
"I'm not sure where I'm supposed to go." The girl scanned the piece of paper for a few seconds, and then widened her eyes in mild shock.
"Y… you're in the same class as me?" She asked.
"Um… I guess I am…?" Tenten scratched her head. The girl chuckled.
"Sorry." She laughed. "You just look so… so young!" She exclaimed.
"Eh… yeah, I guess I just haven't reached my growth spurt yet."
"Ah, don't worry." She assured, leading her towards glass doors. They stepped into the outdoors again, where she realized there were more buildings. Boy was she glad she had met this bubblegum haired girl.
"Naruto is just having his growth spurt now. He's still not very tall, but it's ridiculous how much he grows in just a few days…! He's in our class as well. Maybe he can show you around. He's very nice, but he can be a bit loud sometimes."
So the blond boy was in her class as well. She wondered if the white eyed boy was too. His name was 'Hyuga', wasn't it?
"I'm Haruno Sakura by the way." She smiled up at her. "What's yours?"
"I'm Tien." She lied. Sakura frowned.
"Tien?" She questioned. "I've never heard of that name before. Are you not from around here?"
"No." Tenten shook her head. "Both my parents are from the Han Kingdom."
Sakura gasped and looked up at her, eyes shining with delight.
"Really!?" She exclaimed. "Whoa! You're the first Han I've ever known in my life! But… you speak our language so well!" Tenten laughed.
"Well, I've been living here practically all my life. My parents decided to move back to Han recently, but I wanted to stay." Well, that was kind of a lie. Her parents were from Han, and they were there now while she was here, but she had not told Sakura all the stuff in between.
"So do you live alone?"
"Yeah, pretty much."
"Whoa…" Sakura said again. "That's so… so cool."
They had walked into one of the buildings and had climbed a few stairs before continuing to walk down a long hall. Tenten realized the hall was empty except for the two of them.
"Um… aren't we a bit late?" She asked.
"Oh, don't worry." Sakura said with a wave of her hand.
"Kakashi sensei is never on time, and he always has these lame excuses. It's amazing how the headmistress tolerates him, seeing how she has such a bad temper herself."
It seemed Tenten had much to learn.
Sakura stopped in front of a door. Tenten had been so absorbed in their conversation; she had not realized they had already arrived at A77.
"This building is called Block A." Sakura explained. "So all classrooms in this Block start with an A" Tenten nodded as Sakura pulled the door open.
"Sakura, you're late!" A man, which Tenten assumed was the teacher, said to the pink haired girl. She gaped at him.
"K… Kakashi sensei?" Sakura stammered. "How… why…"
"I hope you have a good explanation."
"I do! I had to help the new boy to our classroom."
The silver haired teacher with half his face covered up looked lazily at his student.
"Sakura, don't you think it's a bit low to be using my excuses against me?" He asked.
"No, really, sensei!" Sakura stepped aside to show Tenten. Kakashi stared at her for a few seconds.
"Ah… yes, I forgot. Come in." He said sheepishly. Sakura rolled her eyes.
"Ignore him, he's weird" She whispered to her under her breath.
"I heard that Sakura." Said girl stiffened and rushed to her seat. Tenten followed, slowly stepping into the classroom. She was nervous. After all, it was her first day of school; her first day of school as a boy.
Everyone in the classroom had their eyes on her. She too looked at each of them. She saw Naruto, and most of the boys he had been playing soccer with. However, the white eyed boy was not in her class, and her heart sunk a little.
But wait… was that him?
Oh yes, it was him. She felt herself smirk. Uchiha Sasuke did not seem to notice his childhood friend had just walked into the room. In fact, he was staring nonchalantly out the window.
He would feel her presence soon enough.
At first, I wanted to just name their school 'Konoha High', but that would make it sound public. (Not that I have anything against public schools, so don't hate mail me.) Since their school is supposed to be extremely posh and prestigious, I wanted to give it a fancier name. Most snobby private schools are named after their founders/famous people, right? So I decided on 'Senju High School', named after the First Hokage.
Next chapter will be… fluff. Double fluff actually, because I had actually planned to put some fluff here as well, but my rant-ness made the chappie too long so I had to move it to the next. Ok, I'll shut up now, this author's note is starting to turn into an author's essay. Lol reviews, please?
