Giotto watched the two troublemakers as he leaned back in his chair behind his desk. Lampo laid on his couch while Ciel was looking out the large window. G. sighed in frustration leaning back against one of the office walls. Ugetsu chuckled at the situation between the four others in the room. "Lampo," Giotto asked gaining the young lords attention. "What happened?" Lampo groaned running a hand through his hair sitting up.
"That old lady just hit me out of nowhere when I grabbed her on the stairs."
"Why did you grab her?"
"Are you saying she can run through Vongola and I can't, you're always more lenient towards females Primo." The thunder guardian said crossing his arms and pouting at the unfairness. The Italian woman rolled her eyes while bringing all her hair over one shoulder combing it with her fingers. G. stepped forward with a threatening glare to the boy. Lampo looked away before apologizing for the rude comment. "Although everyone knows it's true." He mumbled to himself. Orange eyes motion to the three guardians to leave. Ciel noticed them leaving a walked towards the door before a voice called her to stop.
"Miss Ciel I would like to speak with you."
Turning to the Don the harpist stood still with her hands folded in front of her as he approached. "I apologize for Lampo's roughness towards you on the stairs."
Taking her hand in his Giotto kissed the back of it. Shaking her head she looked out the window again. "I'm the one who hit him, forgive me for harming your associate." Chuckling he also looked out the window. The water from the previous rain had vanished leaving the window spotless but the ground outside stayed muddy as the water had yet to completely soak into the ground.
"You have questions I'm sure." Ciel opened her mouth to question him but he kissed her hand again. "Why don't you freshen up and meet me on the back porch for some tea, unless you're not a fan of tea."
"No...tea is fine." Walking her out of the office Giotto caught one of his very few maids going down the hallway and asked her to escort the white haired woman to her room. Pushing her hair back off her shoulder Ciel followed the woman to her room. Now that she wasn't in a state of panic she was startled at the beautiful art that decorated the hall. Paintings of landscapes like the Italian Alps and the farmlands of Southern Italy. "Hm it seems that even among men such as them there can be beautiful treasures as these." She said to herself.
Arriving at the handcrafted oak door the maid opened it allowing the harpist to walk in first. Sitting on the bed she woke up in Ciel watched the young woman of possibly no older than sixteen shut the door softly behind her. "Young one why are you here?" Jumping in surprise the maid turned to her bowing.
"I'm sorry mam' could you repeat the question."
"Why do you work here?"
The girl seemed hesitant on answering but responded nonetheless. "Primo took me in a year ago when he found me bleeding on the side of the road after getting mugged one night. He asked me to become a maid since none of the men seemed to like the idea of cleaning as a suitable job as a Mafioso."
"That appears to be something the Don would do."
The maid nodding smiling. "Mam' may I ask you of something." Brown eyes looked at her curiously as she nodded. "May I brush your hair?"
Ciel laughed lightly nodding her head. "Yes child you may brush my hair." The girl's eyes lit up and she grabbed a brush from the makeup table in the corner before climbing on the bed behind the older woman slowly dragging the brush through her hair.
Giotto sat on the back porch smiling as one of the older males knocked the newest member in the head. Taking a sip of his tea he shook his head at their antics. "Are they not a little too rough on each other." Vongola turned around to see Ciel slowly walk down the marble white steps. Her face showed discomfort as she held her dress up a smudge so she wouldn't trip. Getting up from his seat Giotto grabbed her hand and helped her down the last two stairs. Leading her over to the table where he sat he pulled out her chair. Taking advantage of his kindness Ciel sat down giving a small thank you. Smiling at her the Boss sat down in his chair across from her as the maid who helped the harpist to her room arrived.
"It seems that Alessandra has gotten a hold of you." Said maid blushed as she poured the woman's tea bowing and quickly left. Ciel played with her braided hair.
"She's a sweetheart."
"That she is."
"She speaks very highly of you." Primo stared at her blankly as brown eyes stared at him in amusement. The woman sipped at her tea waiting for the right time to respond. "She is right. You do have nice eyes." Laughing lightly as his face started to gain some pink Ciel placed her tea cup down. Hearing some whispers the Italian woman glanced out the corner of her eye to see two men, roughly late 20's, watching them behind a tree not too far away. Taking her hair out of the braid Giotto chuckled before turning to the men obviously hearing them also.
"Men, if you wish to say something now would be the time." Stumbling away as quickly as they could they pushed each other to be in the lead. Watching them go Ciel shook her head in shame. "I apologize for them. These men aren't the most noble of them all."
"What questions do you wish to ask me Primo?"
Giotto smiled at her. "I was thinking more of I ask one and you ask in return, so both of us learn about one another."
"It seems fair. You may start."
Giotto leaned back in his chair thinking. "How old are you Miss Ciel?"
"Twenty-one. And you Stranger?"
Chuckling at her remark he replied "Twenty-five." Lacing his hands together on his lap he hummed. "When did you start playing the harp?"
The snow white haired woman groaned. "Oh why must you make me remember from so long ago. When did I start...? I assume at the age of four or five though I cannot be sure. Why did you create Vongola?" She asked looking at him in wonder.
"I...wanted to protect people from those who would cause harm to them. I want to do what's right for the people. A friend of mine came up with the idea of creating a vigilante group with me as the leader. It was originally just repose to be a group that helped people but as you can see," motioning to the castle beside them, "it turned out to be something more."
Ciel looked at the building with compassion. "I guess if you started this family for that reason then everyone can't be all that bad."
"Does that mean you'll try to get along with G. and Lampo?"
"Nice try but no." The man looks to pout at the answer. Picking up her tea cup Ciel rubbed her finger against the glass. "The grounds of Vongola don't suite the beautiful paintings in the hallways. You seem to be lacking in this area." Giotto looked around to see a few dead plants, a tree, and grass.
"I'll have to fix that, although I feel that Knuckles talked about this to me before." Crossing her legs while bringing the cup to her lips, Ciel watched the Boss over the rim of the glass. "What do you think of Vongola, personally?" Stunned by his words; Ciel thoughts about her answer. The place was nice, beautiful in appearance. The men on the other hand needed work. But she wasn't sure what he wanted to know her opinion on, the building or the actually organization. As if knowing her thoughts he elaborated. "I would like your views on Vongola as a cause."
Setting some hair behind her ear the harpist continued to think. "Well I voiced that if you created this place to protect people that need your help then I think it's not such a bad place. I'm happy someone decided to do something about the evil in this world. I am even more content with knowing that someone was you."
"What would you do if I asked you to join Vongola?"
Placing the tea cup on the saucer Ciel gazed at the man. "Unfair, it was my turn to ask a question."
Smiling he motioned to her with his hand. "Of course."
"Why am I here Giotto?"
Chuckling at her the orange eyed man stared down at his tea. "I don't know if I should feel pleased you used my name or threatened. Miss Ciel I have brought you here on many reasons. One is that I couldn't have left you unconscious in the middle of the road when I was the one who put you like that. Second is because besides myself and my friend I don't know anyone who can use dying will flames as willingly as you do." Standing up from his chair Giotto walked around the table only to kneel down in front of her taking a hold of her hand. "When we returned to base with you I asked one of my guardians to seal up your flames. You couldn't control them and I feared that if I didn't do something your flame would control you. On your back is the crest of Vongola, that is what locks up your power. This means-"
"I can't play my harp." Ciel gasped.
Giotto smiled at her sadly. "Yes that is one of the side effects. You can't use your flames to play. But you can get your flames back eventually. How I do not know."
Water started to form on the corner of warm brown eyes. Bringing out a handkerchief Primo wiped her eyes. "Now it is my turn to ask. Miss Ciel will you join Vongola?"
Squeezing the hand she still held slightly Ciel placed her head in her other hand. Taking a few deep breathes Ciel looked back at Primo. "I don't think I have a choice."
"Everyone has a choice."
"I will have to work with Lampo and G. won't I."
"It comes with the job."
"Do I have to work under anyone?" She asked pushing some stray pieces of hair behind her ear.
"No one but myself if that makes you more comfortable here. I do not wish to make anyone feel uneasy."
"Am I the only female here?"
"Besides the maids, yes."
"You look nice in that suit."
"Thank you."
"Do I get to do whatever I want?"
"As long as you don't destroy the house, yes." Leaning forward slightly she pushed some blond hair out of his eyes.
"I accept." Bringing her to her feet the blond man kissed her knuckles. "Do you like to kiss my hand?"
"I find your company inviting."
"That or you're around men to much. You need more maids." Pressing his lips to her skin again he smiled. "I have to call you Boss now correct."
"Giotto is fine."
"Primo it is." Dropping her hand she gave a small smirk before walking back slowly to the glass doors that were open to let the air flow thought. "Alessandra come here." Ciel called. The maid appeared in seconds wondering what she was needed for. "Help me up the stairs please; the marble is too cold for my feet." The young girl hurried over quickly grabbing onto her arm. Once back on wood floors Ciel sighed.
"Ciel." Turning to Giotto shocked he didn't use formalities she raised an eyebrow in question. "There is a meeting in two days I would like you to attend with me and my guardians."
Bowing slightly long hair fell over her shoulders. "Of course Primo."
Happy Birthday Primo
And I guess Happy New Year to everyone, althought I'm not a New Year fan I thought I'd say something.
