Isabella pranced into Phineas and Ferb's yard as per usual, light on her feet and a little grin etched on her face. Opening the gate, she chirped, "Whatcha doing?" as cutely as possible. Phineas didn't look up from his project, but waved her to come over.
"What's this?" Isabella asked, befuddled. The contraption in front of her was rickety and old, lacking the glamour of past endeavors. It looked like something you would find in a trash heap, with rust covering the sharp metal edges that formed some semblance of a box.
Phineas scrambled to get up, and proudly gestured at the.. thing. "This, Isabella, is the Honestinator!" Scuffling over to the other side of the tree, he put his arms out in a grand gesture. "It tells whomever is linked up to it exactly what they think when asked a question! Should be fun." He paused briefly, biting his lip. "I have no idea where the others are though. They were here just a little bit ago."
Isabella's eyes lit up. "Just us then! Darn."
Phineas looked down at his junky contraption. "I'm gonna be honest, it doesn't look as great as it normally does when Ferb helps. He has that artistic touch, you know? Makes magic with his hands!"
The raven haired girl looked down at the rambling boy for a spell, before resting her hand on his shoulder and sitting down. "Well?"
Phineas looked at her, confused. "Well what?"
Isabella giggled. "Hook me up to it!"
The fiery haired boy glanced at her, still not quite getting it. "But this thing is a piece of junk. Why would anyone…"
Isabella stopped him there. "You made it right?"
He paused, then confirmed.
"Yeah, I did."
She smiled at him. "Then I can't wait to see what Flynn minus Fletcher can do."
He grinned shyly, and put a headset over Isabella's ears. As he looked at her excited face, Phineas no longer thought of how his contraption looked. Smiling beside himself, the two sat under the lush tree as a summer breeze cleared the air around them.
