Adrian's POV
"I can do this" I kept whispering to myself while pacing back and forth in my room. Its been five years since me and Sydney have been together after defeating the Alchemist and letting the vampire world know about witches and our human/ex-alchemist-Moroi relationship. The first year was quite hectic, but we managed to survive and settle in in Palm Springs and now we both have graduated college. Since its been quite a ride together, I wanted to make it official by proposing to my other half. But I was still on the edge about it, after everything that happened between us, will she still decline? Will she want to be with me forever? What if she doesn't want to be with me anymore? These thoughts consumed me until the vibration of my phone startled me out of my negative thinking, it was a text message from Jill.
Calm down, you're overreacting, everything will b fine. I smiled, even though we've learned how to block each other over a year ago, it didn't mean the bond wasn't still there. Checking the clock, I put my tie on, grabbed the keys, and I drove up to Jill's small apartment to pick up my Sage.
I knocked on the door and was meet by a beautiful, golden eyed blonde. She smiled brightening the night, if it was even possible. "Hey"
"Wow" I said looking at her from head to toe. She was wearing a floor length, green, one shoulder silk gown adorned with white flowers on the side of her waist, and her hair was up on a bun, with her bangs to the side.
"Are you just going to stare or am I going to have to slap you out of your oblivion?" interrupted Angeline. I turned around to look at her.
"Oblivion? You're using big words know?" she rolled her eyes.
"Not much of a big word"
"What are you doing out here in the darkness?" I asked
"I'm Jill's guardian," she said looking at me as if I was from another planet. "I was checking the perimeter with Neil who's somewhere around here" she said looking around. "I think"
"Oh, I thought you were out here still embracing your wild nature" I deadpanned.
"I'll kick your ass pretty boy" She scoffed. I rolled my eyes and turned to look a Sydney.
"Wait here, let me go talk to Jill real quick and we'll go."
I went inside to find Jill sitting down on the small round table with Eddie. "Do you have the ring?" she jumped up like an energetic child.
"Yes!" she said excitedly. Handing me the small white box. I opened it to find a simple golden incrusted ring with a small purple gemstone and tiny diamond looking stones swirling around.
"Perfect" I said.
After saying our goodbyes, we went across town to watch a Shakespeare play about some boat and some tiny weird looking creature named 'Caliban?' I think. Anyways, didn't care much when I had a beauty sitting next to me. After the play, we drove over to a not-to-expensive but exquisite restaurant were we laughed and talked. After a while I decided to finally pop the question. Looking around at the amount of people, I decided I wanted it to be more private.
"Do you want to go over to the park?" I said mentioning to the park right across from it.
"Sure" she responded with a smile.
We paid and headed out to the park, walking hand by hand in the silence of the night just enjoying each other's company until I got impatient and decided to stop being such a coward and just be Adrian Ivashkov.
"Sydney?"
"Yes?"
Nervously, I paused and looked at the wet grass "Christ, my love for you is the reason I'm sacrificing my pants for you" well that came out weird.
"What?" she asked confused.
I got on one knee, and took out the white box and opened it. Her eyes went wide. "Sydney" I paused a little, realizing I had forgotten the lines I rehearsed earlier today. I decided to just be upfront and say it. "Will you marry me?"
She looked speechless. She didn't say anything for what seemed like an hour but it was only twenty seconds.
"Please don't tell me you're going to say no?"
"Yes" she finally said.
"Yes, you're going to say no"
"No!"
"No, you're going to say no?"
"What? No yes, no… wait!" She looked exasperated and bit confused.
"So is it a no or a yes?" I asked anxiously.
"YES! YES, I WANT TO MARRY YOU ADRIAN!" I smiled broadly and put the ring on her finger and got up to hug her and kiss her.
"I love you" I whispered to her
"Me too" we kissed for a while.
When we finally pulled away "You had me worried for a while there" I said "I though you were going to deny me"
"I would never say no to that" she looked at me apologetically "I was just shocked, I wasn't expecting this until later" we sat down on the bench.
"I just couldn't wait"
"I'm imagining Jill already knows?" she asked smiling.
"Of course"
We sat there underneath the full moon awaiting our future together as husband and wife.
Hope you liked it! It was a little bit boring, but oh well.
