(WARNING…..THERE WILL BE SOME ANGST THIS CHAPTER) hopefully not too much.

Twilight wasn't really mad at Fluttershy... well she was but the angel probably didn't mean anything by what she said. And the way she went about...scolding... yea scolding her was a bit harsh .But when someone hurt spike intentionally or not she would harm them.

When twilight finally caught up to spike he seemed like he had finally gotten over what Fluttershy had said.

"Hey spike, how' you doing?" twilight asked in a small tone. Spike turned his head over to the most important girl in his life and sighed

"Hey twilight, I'm better now. Not good but better." spike turned again and started walking back towards the town.

"I just want to find the library so we can learn about nightmare moon and the elements." spike called over his shoulder. Twilight was soon following after him again not wanting him to be out of her sight.

"Spike wa-"

"HEY TWILIGHT, SPIKE, WAIT UP!" twilight groaned and looked to the rainbow blur that was headed towards spike and herself

"This is not what we need right now." twilight took a furtive glance at spike. The young man had walked up to and positioned himself slightly behind her right side. He tried to hide it but she knew him better than anyone. He was afraid and his eyes were haunting. As the rainbow blur got even closer twilight, not knowing what to expect, channeled energy to her Inventum. The magic flowed smoothly into it and it set her hand alight with a purple aura.

The angel arrived just as twilight was about to cast a fire spell…..just a warning shot of course….it would have barely singed her...well it wouldn't have been permanently scarring.

"Whoa there, I just came to apologize." twilight registered the statement but didn't stand down, her magic ready to crack down on rainbow like a whip if she so much as twitched in the wrong way.

Spike tugged on twilight's sweater getting her attention. Keeping an eye on the opposing angel twilight looked at spike.

He shook his head and mouthed that it was ok. Hesitant at first, her instincts screaming at her to teleport this girl into the middle of a desert, she cut the flow of magic to her Inventum. The ethereal glow faded from her hands. Seeing that twilight wasn't going to immolate her, rainbow landed and deactivated her wings.

After a moment of awkward silence twilight gave a deep sigh and spoke up.

"It's not you who needs to apologize, while I may have overreacted, Fluttershy should be the one here...not you."

"Well she would be but she didn't know how well you'd react to her. She didn't want to make you any more angry, and guessing by how you were about to blast me out of the sky, it was a smart move." Looking sheepish at the very likely accusation.

Rainbow, seeing that twilight had calmed some, turned and whistled loudly. The following rustle of branches and leaves signaled the entrance of Rarity and fluttershy, who was using rarity as support. Rarity double checked that the coast was clear before nudging the pink haired girl forward; Fluttershy flinched slightly before taking a few tentative steps forward before freezing up.

After a few more supportive words from Rarity, Fluttershy took a deep breath before advancing once more. While walking to the other end of the clearing her pace quickened when she finally reached the young boy she flung her arms around him tears rolling down her face.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." she repeated the words over and over until it was incoherent against her sobbing, gripping to spike like her life depended on it. Spike was absolutely frozen. He hadn't expected this kind of reaction from the girl hanging on him. Her tears soaking through his shirt snapped him out of his stupor. He gently wraps his right arm around her back and his left strokes her pink tresses.

"It's okay, it's okay. I'm not angry." spike tried to assure her. But the girl was inconsolable.

So spike let her cry on his shoulder for the better part of twenty minutes. The other three girls waiting patiently. When her sobs dulled and her breathing became more even, she finally spoke in a tiny voice.

"I'm so sorry I am a terrible person, I must have brought up some terrible memories." Spike looked surprised

"How did-" spike began to ask but was interrupted by Rainbow

"I had a close friend in flight school. She is a harpy class convergent, and she told me of some of the prejudice that she endured. I shared some of those stories with Fluttershy on the way here." spike gave dash the 'Uhhh' face, before returning to Fluttershy.

"Don't worry about it, I already forgave you. If someone telling me that they like what I am could get to me, well…." spike stopped his point given.

Fluttershy gave spike a grateful smile, her eyes puffy from crying. Spike returned the smile before turning to twilight.

"Hey twilight, can they tag along to the library?" spike asked. Twilight gave him a skeptical look and opened her mouth to answer, but before she could answer in the negative spike interrupted.

"Hey even you need to admit that five sets of eyes are better than two." twilights mouth snapped shut. While she did not particularly like anybody working with her, except spike, a library was a big place. She would get things done more efficiently if they helped, so she relented

"Oh alright they can come with."

The group had been walking back to town at a semi leisurely pace. Along the way Fluttershy had gotten spike to open up about his childhood. Most of the party was enraptured by the life story of the young man. Of course that left twilight to lead them through the rolling paths of the forest. When the group moved over a particularly steep crest of a hill, twilight spotted something quite out of place in the forests hodge-podge of greens and browns. The thing, whatever it was, is bright strawberry pink. And it seemed to be spring loaded as it bounced up and down at a consistent rate. This tuft of pink also grabbed spike's attention. And one by one the others in the group turned, looked and stared at what they saw. They all shared a silent agreement that the pink blob was more than enough reason to make a detour.

As they approached, the 'blob' turned into a woman. The striking pink was actually her long, messy hair. Which seemed to have a mind of its own as the girl bounced. But its freedom did not last as it was all caught and tied up in a ponytail with two curly strands framing her face.

All of it was done in one physics defying blur of motion. Seeing her success she smiled the brightest smile that could exist. If you looked directly at it you would most likely go blind before dying of cuteness.

Finally she turned and saw the group. She waved animatedly at them before disappearing.

"HI!"

Twilight nearly made the altitude record, for highest jump unassisted. Unfortunately gravity is a cruel maiden.

Once she crawled out of the twilight-sized hole in the ground, she brushed herself off to look up into two deep pools of blue.

"Imsorryistartledyouthereijustgotsoexitedthatanewpersoncametotownespecialytodaybecausesomeoneelcewill-" the unintelligible ramble was interrupted by a hand slapping over her mouth, compliments of Rainbow Dash. But this did little to deter the pink ball of energy as she kept talking into the offending hand. Twilight turned to rainbow only to see a bored face. This obviously wasn't the first time that this had happened.

"Is she always like this?" twilight asked.

"Yea pretty much, it's just her own special brand of crazy." rainbow rotated her free index finger around her ear in a familiar fashion. By this time the unintelligible mumbling stopped. Leaving the pinkette with wide and excited eyes. The exited girl lifted a hand and pointed to the sky.

"mhp fumpg hemm." she tried to mumble through the hand before rainbow lifted it away from her mouth. Pinkie let loose a squeal before pointing to the sky again.

"He's finally here! Yay." they all looked to the sky to only see the first star of the night sky appearing

"Uhhhh, Pinky? There's no one there. And I doubt any angles are going to be this far away from any of the parties." Pinky stared at dashie like she was the one acting crazy.

"Of course he isn't an angel. He'd be closer to being a demon. But mostly people know him as the man on the moon….wait that's not right. Anyway, he's here." she pointed to one of the stars.

"Pinkie that isn't…..wait…. is it getting bigger?" rainbow dash questioned. This drew the attention of the rest of the group. And yes the star was getting rapidly bigger. Twilight spoke up.

"I don't recognize that star…..and I've studied some of the most extensive star maps in existence."

It was true Twilight, being the prodigy of Celestia, had access to almost all of the academic material she needed. This however this only encouraged her anti social behavior.

"Well it's obviously there, so what is it?" Rainbow asked. The whole time the light getting bigger.

Then a sudden look of dread smashed onto twilight's expression.

"It's not getting bigger."

"Well then what is it doing?"

"It's getting closer…. run for cover." twilight said in an oddly quiet voice given the situation.

"Wha-"

"RUN FOR COVER." twilight all but screamed at the group.

The three girls and spike ran into a nearby ditch and made them as small as possible.

Twilight stayed behind, she gathered her significant magical reserves and let it flow into her Inventum. The air around the ring started to vibrate. She brought her hand up to her chest then made a diagonal slashing motion with her hand.

An opaque, dome-like, purple barrier. Flowed up into the sky. But it wasn't around her.

Twilight calculated that the area where the cosmic rock would land, right next to, if not in, a small pond. So she focused on containing the damage. She would let the falling rock pass through the barrier, which would close behind it. Containing the blast. Quickly she made several more, if smaller barriers within the first. And just in time. The falling star passed through the first barrier with no resistance. But it seemed to start slowing down, but just slightly. Passing through the insurance barriers the rock splashed down in the lake, instantly vaporizing it. The resulting explosion of steam and molten rock completely annihilated the first two barriers. Twilight wasn't channeling her magic through those though. She was concentrating the flow on the last three. When the explosion met the third to last barrier. Twilight strained, pouring her pure energy into the barrier. The explosion broke that one but had lost most of its energy. But it still had some fight. The second to last barrier strained as the blast hit it. But twilight held firm. Blood dripped from her nose and her vision became blurry.

The explosion faded completely and both twilight and the barriers dropped. Spike sprinted out from the ditch and slid to the ground next to her. Barely catching her before she hit the ground. Quickly regaining consciousness twilight quickly recovered. Although she was drowsy from the sheer volume of magic she used.

"I'm ok now Spike. Don't worry." twilight said week rainbow speed over.

"Whoa little man, did you know how fast you just moved?" rainbow dash asked impressed by the speed at which he moved.

"What do you mean?" spike questioned.

"Dude, it looked like you teleported to twilight. I had trouble keeping my eye on you."

Spike looked at his hands awed by himself. His usual skin. Which is made up of microscopic scales, seems to have melded together and hardened into larger scales that glinted in the light of the dying sun?

But, whatever it was that happened to him, it was fading. His arm going back to its previous form.

"Whoa, that's new." spike said breathlessly.

"Well I'm going to go look for the thing that tried to blow half of Applevile of the face of the planet." with that the speedy angle was gone.

Spike leaned down and set twilight gently on the ground. Before sitting next to her. Letting his sister/mother figure lean on him.

"Twi, did you know that I could do that? Have I ever done anything like that before?" twilight, still drowsy, lifted her eyelids for a moment to smile at spike.

"I'm sorry buddy; I don't know what that was. But I promise. When we see the princess next we can ask. Okay?"

Spike wasn't satisfied in the least. He had so many questions, and not a single answer. However a certain athletic angel ripped spike from his thoughts.

"Hey we have a problem. I think someone was in the barrier when that thing crashed only got a quick look before coming back over here, but what I did see wasn't good." twilights eyes shot open. Adrenaline pumping her full of energy.

"What!?" twilight practically screamed. Stumbling to her feet she put her hand into her pocket and pulled out a shiny green pill. Popping it into her mouth she bit down and swallowed.

"Uhhh spike, what's twilight doing?" rainbow asked the young man. When spike replied he had a worried tone in his voice

"That's a synchronizer, simply it bolsters a mages manna reserve by making their body more in sync with the natural laylines of the world... it only works temporarily and had risks but twilight needs it right now if she wants to help."

Twilight focused her mana into her legs and sprinted into the blast zone. All the while thinking

'No,No,No, I trapped someone inside with that explosion, they could be hurt or worse...wait I remember checking for any life signs and the only things were some bugs and plant life.' she shook her head and continued running

'That doesn't matter now, there's someone hurt and I can help."

It didn't take her long to reach the center of the crater but when she did she saw what, or rather whom, rainbow dash was talking about.

There was a man sprawled out in the crater. He was laying on his front so she couldn't see his face. His hair was a spiky sun kissed blond that only reached his neck. Most of his body was disguised by a burnt orange almost red cloak that seemed to have black flames licking at the bottom. And he wore black sandals with open toes. But something that twilight noticed truly astonished her. There wasn't a single scratch on the she flipped him onto his back. Only to find that the rest of his clothes weren't so lucky. Tattered remains of a once white shirt did nothing to hide the man's chest from view revealing a blue-green crystal hanging on a string. Unfortunately his pants shared a similar fate to that of his shirt.

Pushing down her growing blush twilight checked the rest of him for injuries by running a healing spell over his form. Satisfied that he was ok she allowed herself to relax a bit. Able to now take a closer look at the man she got a good look at his face. He was quite attractive with a slightly round face. His bangs framed his face. Those bangs brushed by the man's most unique feature, the almost whisker like marks on each cheek. Twilight, intrigued by the features wondered if they were real or not, she very carefully brought her hand up to the unconscious man's face and stroked one of his cheeks.

"Uhhh...can I help you?" the voice startled twilight so much that she nearly jumped out of her skin.

"Whoa there calm down. "A pair of hands softly grabbed hers and a warm, soothing feeling swept through twilight.

"There isn't that better? Now what's your name?" Twilight's head was in a serene cloud. Nothing else mattered just the calm. The feeling left just as suddenly as it came. Twilight needed to suppress a whine of disappointment as she came down from her 'high'.

"M-m-my... um what? "A low chuckle emanated from the man.

"I'm sorry but I need your help." Twilight snapped out of her 'trance' enough to at least look at the man. What met her were the most striking blue eyes that she had ever seen.

"W-what do you need?"

"Do you know where I am? I don't think I've seen this crater before."

"Oh, well this is the- or what used to be the fields outside of Applevile. Now are you sure you are al-"

"Uh-huh… and what country is that town in?" the blonde interrupted. Twilight answered his question just a little bit irritated.

"It's in Equestria, now I need to make sure-"

"Never heard of it." the blonde interrupted a second time. An almost undetectable smirk on his face at seeing the girl in front of him so miffed.

"What do you mean you haven't heard of it have you been living in a cave your whole life?!" twilight spat through clenched jaws.

"Maybe, I don't really know."

Ok that was it the pesky blond is getting some more injuries today. Twilight reared her fist back ready to strike.

"WAIT-WAIT-WAIT, I'm serious I don't know where you are talking about I don't remember much of anything." he said quickly to protect himself from feminine wrath. Twilight was suspicious but decided to play along for now.

"Really. That's just a little hard to believe….prove it"

Twilight spent the next few minutes questioning the man, but all she was able to find out was his name, Naruto.

"I just don't get it,"

The rest of the gang finally caught up to twilight and the now known Naruto.

"How can someone just forget everything about their self but still remember their name?" Rainbow dash asked incessantly.

Her only response, however, was a half heated shrug of Naruto's shoulders.

"It seems fishy is all...are you a spy?"Rainbow half asked and half accused, hovering only inches away from his face.

Naruto adopted a hurt expression.

"Why are you even asking that? I promise that I hold only the best intentions in my heart." Rainbow moved back slightly her expression of suspicion unflinching, as if she was trying to find some unseen fault in the man. And he stared right back. She stayed like that until she gave an approving nod.

"He's cool" she gave him a wide smile and offered her closed fist to him.

"The names rainbow dash. And I'm the coolest person in all of Applevile."

Naruto bumped his fist against hers.

"Naruto, it's nice to meet you dash-san."

Naruto introduced himself to the rest of the group. His lack of appropriate dress quite obvious to the girls but especially to one fashionista in particular.

After dash was spike, he and Naruto got along like a house on fire. When it got to rarity Naruto displayed manners rarely found outside of nobility.

"Darling you simply must allow me to design you some new clothes for you."

"No I'm fine thank you. I don't have anything to pay you with anyway."

"Oh but I must insist, I'll even do it free of charge, we can't have you walking around in just your cloak now can we."

Naruto smiled at the generous woman his fox like grin shone like the sun.

Of course Pinkie being pinkie could hardly wait and practically jumped Naruto

"Hi, my name is Pinkamina Diane Pie, but all my friends call me pinkie and everyone is my friend so everyone just calls me pinkie will you be my friend? You don't remember anything so must not have any so that makes me sad and I hate being sad."

It didn't even take Naruto a second to process it all and respond

"Hi pinkie my names Naruto, and of course I'll be your friend, yea I guess I feel a bit lonely but nothing I can't handle so please don't be sad."

The rest of the group blinked while pinkie bounced happily; glad to finally have someone that can keep up with her.

But his reaction to pinkie paled in comparison to his reaction to Fluttershy.

Fluttershy hid behind her hair as Naruto's gaze swept over her. Naruto gasped, tears falling from his eyes. He began to speak but his voice was shaky and hoarse.

"Hina... Hina is that you?" He reached out to grasp her but he seemed to snap out of his trance for a short while before he collapsed to his knees and clutched his head in obvious pain. But as quickly as the pain came it disappeared. Leaving Naruto to right himself. He blinked his blue eyes a few times as if to clear out some haze. When he turned back to the group of girls he found them staring at him like he had just fallen from the sky… wait.

"Ummmm… is there something on my face?" when they just continued to stare at him he huffed in annoyance

"Come on, what's up?"

Twilight stepped forward a bit and places her hand on Naruto's shoulder.

"I think that you had a flashback, you started acting strange before you seized up. Are you okay?"

Naruto raised an eyebrow

"I have no idea what you are talking about, are you ok?"

Naruto shook his head and waved them off dismissively.

"Anyway it doesn't matter. Isn't there something that we needed to do?"At this twilight's eyes widened and she let out a gasp.

The library, Nightmare Moon, how could she forget!

"I need to get to the library and quick!" twilight sprinted off in the direction of town. Leaving the others behind

"Twilight, wait up" spike desperately called after her before running off as well.

Pinkie bounced around happily.

"Ooooooohh, I didn't know she was so excited to get to the party I have set up in the library. But wait….it was supposed to be a surprise for her. How did she find out about it?" pinkie asked

Naruto's head perked. A party that sounds fun.

"Hey can I go to that party of yours?" pinkie rounded on him with a megawatt smile.

"Of course silly EVERYONE is invited. Well, come on let's goooooooo! "Naruto was then escorted (dragged by the arm) towards town.

"Now you just hold on. I cannot in good conscious allow for Naruto to go anywhere when he is so… scantily clad. Please bring him to my shop pinkie."

"Okie Dokie Loki." Naruto shook off his surprise before yelling

"Hey I don't want to go, don't I get a vote in this?"

"I'm terribly sorry darling but no, no you don't."

"FINE, but I get to keep the cloak." Rarity seemingly happy with the deal went along with the pink sugar rush and the blonde. Before noticing rainbow dash along with Fluttershy didn't come along.

"Are you two not going to come with to the boutique?"

"Naw, I got to talk to shy for a minute. See you all at the party though." rarity shrugged and turned to continue following the odd duo.

"Umm, not that I mind rainbow dash, because I don't….. Mind that is, but what is it that you wanted to talk about, if you don't mind my asking."

Rainbow turned to Fluttershy with a serious face on.

"Have you ever seen that guy before? Because he seemed to know you."

"Oh, I'm sorry but I don't know anything. Today was the first time that I've met him."

Rainbow adopted a thinking pose. This was impressive considering she is hovering two feet off of the ground.

"I think that he is hiding something. There are too many things about him that we don't know.

Like how was he able to survive that blast and if he lost his memories why did he have such a strong reaction to you."

"Oh I'm sure there is a good answer to your questions rainbow dash. We just need to be patent." Fluttershy responded with a kind smile.

"Yea I guess, but I still want to try something. Can I count on your help Fluttershy?" Fluttershy let her head sink to the ground he bangs falling to cover her eyes.

"Oh I'm sure I'd just let you down rainbow dash. I'm not as strong or as brave as you." Rainbow dropped to the ground. Put her hand under Fluttershy's chin and lifted her head.

"Don't worry I believe in you and I know you can help me. " Fluttershy gave her a small smile

"Ok, what do you need me to do?"
