"Derek we need to go. The baby sitter is waiting for us."
"Case they are gone." I said looking at the two tomb stones.
"I know Derek. If you need to get away I understand. Samantha can stay with me and Amy while you are gone. Amy loves it when her cousin visits. "
"I never thought that this would happen. You losing James and me losing Lizzie"
Casey came over to my side and grabbed my hand then I enveloped her into a hug. We just stood there and cried. It seemed like the ok thing to do. I don't know how long we stood there before we stepped apart.
I looked into Casey's eyes. I knew that she still loved me. She had told me so one day after she had gotten drunk. She had told me she loved James in a way. He filled the whole that she had in her life.
"What are we going to do? I cant take care of Sammy without her."
"Sam needs you. Derek. You are a great dad. We are great parents we can raise these guys."
"YOU are a great mother Casey. But I havent really been there for Sammy. I missed so much."
"Lizzie loved you and had faith in you. And so do I. You loved my sister right?"
"Of course I did Case."
"Good."
"Casey I need that vacation. Can Sam stay with you."
"Course."
"I love you Case just not in the way I loved your sister."
"Derek take a few weeks, I'll see you when you get back." she said walking back to her car.
