The walk between huts wasn't extremely exciting.
The distance between buildings were mere meters so there was barely enough time for Harper to decide who was the sexiest pirate, Will Turner or Captain Jack Sparrow, before she caught sight of the second hut down from the one she had just left – The answer was of course Jack Sparrow; Harper didn't even see the debate – that man was sex-ay!- There was however, enough time to notice the nakedness of her feet as they scuffed against the dusty path, collecting particles of dirt on the soles of her feet and between her toes with each hobbled step she took. Additionally her current state of dress, in possibly the smallest and ill-fitting pyjamas she owned, made her feel extremely uncomfortable under the unfamiliar gaze of strangers…not to mention her current state of braless-ness!
She cursed herself for neglecting to wear a bra to bed that fateful night – but seriously though, who does?! – as the alarming bounce of her free bosom when she walked drew her attention to her aching back. An ailment that she received due to all the braless walking she committed herself to the previous day.
Harper still couldn't believe where she was. Could she really be in the year 957? What even happened in 957?! She couldn't let herself dwell though, otherwise she might just go nuts trying to contemplate the logistics of her situation. Instead she had to pull herself together and decide what her next move was going to be.
Harper straightened her back and stood up to her full height despite the pressure that put on her ankle. Confident and collected: check.
"Okay Ollie, what's step one?" Harper inquired aloud to the sleek charcoal companion that trotted happily beside her. Olive's ears perked up and she barked twice in response.
"Hmmm…" Harper hummed thoughtfully as if considering her canine friends response seriously. "You're right Ollie. Step one is definitely to find a bra" Harper turned her gaze towards the wolf only to see it poking its tongue out at her as if in jest. "Are you mocking me?!" Harper giggled before the clogs finally clicked in her head "Oh! I see what you're saying! You clever girl!" Harper stopped shuffling to ruffle Olive's soft mane "Okay scratch that. Step one: Find the 954 equivalent to a bra"
Olive barked in response as if to say 'that's better'.
"Hmm…what should be step two then?" Instead of replying Olive ran forward stopping outside the hut that Harper was supposed to find Rebekah in, and gave another bark. Harper assumed the message was 'get help' and she couldn't very well argue with that.
Hobbling quickly to the doorway Harper knocked on the wooden exterior before pulling the sheet that hung protectively in the way, to one side.
'Hello…uh…Rebekah?" Harper called unsurely. There was no response for a minute and harper figited quietly not sure what to do. Did she go back to see Elijah? He was probably making out with that witch Tatia and would be less than pleased if she were to disturb him. But if not that…what else could she do?
Luckily she was saved from having to devise a secondary plan by the call of a lightly accented voice. It was a women's voice and the accent was similar to that of Elijah's. Harper could only assume that this was Rebekah.
'Yes? Who is calling?"
"Uh…Harper?" Her voice rose at the end as if her identity were a question. She didn't know why she bothered with her name though, it's not as if Rebekah would know who she-
Harper was pulled from her thoughts as the cloth that had separated her and the individual inside was yanked aside and a beautiful blonde came marching out. Harper jumped back in surprise, stumbling as she tripped over her own clumsy feet.
"Oh! I am so sorry! I did not mean to scare you!" The blonde cried rushing forward to steady the oddly dressed girl.
"That's alright" Harper assured her, standing awkwardly as she was gawked at by whom she assumed was Rebekah "Uh…what are you starring at?" Harper asked cumbersomely, shifting from one foot to the other.
"Oh sorry it's just that- Well I-" she suddenly leaned in, her face so close that Harper could clearly make out the distinct scent of lavender on her skin as well as all the small freckles across the bridge of her nose. "You are the girl, Harper McAllister? The girl from the future?" Rebekah squealed with rising excitement in her tone.
"Um…ahh…well I-" What could she say? She didn't want to admit to it and then be burnt alive for like…witchcraft or something! She looked helplessly around her for inspiration but only saw Olive, loyally lying at her feet.
"I promise I won't tell anyone!" Rebekah swore, making a quick cross over her heart. Harper smiled wearily, What choice did she have?
"Yup. That's me. The girl from the future."
"Oh my lord! I knew it! I bloody knew it!" Rebekah squealed before clapping her pale hands over her mouth, her pale eyes opening wide. "Oh please excuse my language! I am afraid I just got over excited"
"Don't worry" Harper laughed watching Rebekah jump up and down like a Belieber at a 'Justin Bieber' concert. "Elijah sent me down here, said you would help me with my injuries? Is that right?"
"Yes! Of course! Of course! Come in!" she cried in delight clutching onto Harper's arm and dragging her into her hut. Quickly seating Harper down on a high table not unlike the one she had just woken up on, Rebekah hurried around the room sorting through clear jars full of herbs, spices and other roots Harper didn't quite recognise. "I'm Rebekah by the way" she shot a smile over her shoulder as she bundled up some jars in her arms.
"I know. Elijah mentioned you" Harper smiled back nervously brushing a few strands of her tangled hair away from her face as they fell in her eyes. The blonde sister disappeared behind a cloth curtain though the clattering and clunking of her rummaging still echoed loudly through the small room. "Um…Rebekah; a question"
"Yes?"
"Does everyone in your…uh-village know that I'm from the future?" Harper wrapped one arm around herself self-consciously. She had no idea what was going on and she thought it would be better if everyone didn't think she was some crack-pot wanderer who believed herself to be from the future. But if the cat was already out of the bag then there isn't much I can d-
"What?! Of course not! That would be most outrageous! The only reason I know is because I managed to weasel it out of brother Elijah." Her head reappeared from behind the curtain, her eyes glittering mischievously "I can be quite persuasive you understand"
"I don't doubt it!" Harper chuckled already feeling herself growing fonder of Ms Rebekah. "So nobody but you and Elijah know?"
Rebekah reappeared from behind the cloth with some strips of cloth tossed over her shoulder and a large tub of water in her arms. She heaved it over to the high bed Harper was on before taking a seat opposite; moistening the strips of cloth in the scented water. "Brother Elijah does not 'know' anything. I rather think he believes you to be quite confused rather than a traveller from the future."
"And you?"
"When Elijah brought you into our village he originally told me that you were merely a lost traveller; I did not believe him. With only one glance at your outrageous attire I knew you were from a land far beyond this one. I did not realise it was a 'future land' until he explained to me what you said. As I talk to you now, my thoughts are even further justified. The way you talk…" She looked up at Harper her eyes twinkling "It is like nothing I have ever heard before"
"So you're not going to burn me at a stake because you think I'm a witch?" Harper laughed dryly, her heart speeding up in apprehension. She was immediately calmed by the aghast look on the blonde beauties face.
'Of course not! If that were the case, my mother and I, as well as half the women in this town would burn alongside you"
"You're a witch!" Harper burst out in surprise, now wearing the same look of fascination that Rebekah was wearing only a few seconds earlier.
"Yes" Rebekah nodded devotedly "Not nearly as good as my mother but in time I hope that I will succeed her. Make her proud of me"
"That is so lovely!" Harper smiled softly before a full-fledged grin took over "And so cool! I can't believe you are a witch! Does that mean you have like, legit magical powers! What can you do? Can you do tricks? Oh oh! Please show me a trick!"
"Please slow down! It is like you speak in wild tongues!" Rebekah laughed jollily, only having understood snippets of what had flown out of Harper's mouth. "First things, first. I must heal you up and get you dressed before supper! We can't have all the village boys seeing you like that otherwise you will have an envious Tatia on your hands"
Harper's faced flushed a bright red and she self-consciously tugged the hem of her incredibly short-pyjama shorts down. She, for some reason, only just noticed how much thigh and cleavage was on display in comparison to Rebekah who wore a grey cotton dress that covered the length of her arms and legs, pooling a little at her feet. Harper quickly nodded her head and zipped her lips in order to let Rebekah work her magic.

"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"N-REALLY?!" Rebekah shouted in disbelief; her slim fingers absently fastening the loose ends of the bodice she had loaned to Harper.
"I'm not even joking! Like, legit! I believe her exact words were:" Harper coughed to clear her throat before adorning the prissiest voice she could muster "'I expect for that damn mutt to be slaughtered before sundown'"
"Oh it is too much!" Rebekah laughed tying a bow at the end of the bodice before reaching for a gold coloured tunic to tug over Harper's head. "I can't believe Elijah let the bloody wench get away with that! He loves that wolf!" she exclaimed before clapping a hand over her mouth and smiling sheepishly back at Harper's reflection in the small mirror. "I do apologize for my obscene language!"
"Please Rebekah, in my time there are a myriad of words that would be used to describe a woman like Tatia and yours doesn't even scratch the surface of 'obscene'" Rebekah grinned as she always did when Harper revealed even the smallest titbit about the future, and silently busied herself with straightening out her old dress and Harper's new one.
During the time Rebekah was cleaning up her wounds which included lights scratches all over her arms and legs as well as a small slice on her hairline that was barely even noticeable now, they had somehow evolved from mere acquaintances into what an outsider would assume were the best of friends.
Rebekah had quizzed her about the future though Harper's answers remained obscure and satirical and at some point she had convinced Rebekah to keep her real home, a place more than a thousand years in the future, a secret from the rest of the villagers including her family. She confessed how her memory was somewhat segmented and how she wasn't sure what the ramifications would be if she revealed too much of the future. Rebekah in a great gesture changed the topic so instead they spent their time creating a backstory for Harper, adapted off Elijah's original tale of the injured traveller. She had travelled to the New World with a small entourage but had unfortunately been split from them when there was a thunderstorm a few days before (as Rebekah had informed her), since then she had been wandering absently through the forest searching for her party until she had injured herself twisting her ankle and collapsing in the forest opening in which she was found by Elijah the next morning.
Harper was sceptical about how believable the story sounded but Rebekah convinced her it would be enough to fool the village and anything she wasn't able to explain, could simply be disregarded by her saying that her 'memories are vague' or 'weary from her extensive travels'.
The girls had quickly, thereafter moved on to the subject of Tatia. Rebekah, delighting in meeting someone who detests Tatia just as much as she, quickly filled Harper in on the state Tatia had all the boys in the village, including both of Rebekah's brothers, Elijah and Niklaus.
"It sickens me!" Rebekah cried stomping her foot on the ground in visual protest "How do they not see the evil wench that lurks within?!"
Harper shrugged her shoulders in defeat, while brushing out the tangles of her light chestnut hair with a comb she had borrowed off Rebekah. "It beats me, sweetie, I cannot for the life of me see the attraction in a woman like Tatia! She is a right ho-"
"Oh my lord!" Rebekah squealed cutting of Harper with quite essential timing. Harper's gaze followed Rebekah's line of sight as she looked out the window. "I did not even notice the time go by! It is almost sunset and I have not even begun the preparations for supper! Please rest here Harper while I attend to the food. I will come collect you before we eat." Before Harper could interject with an offer of help Rebekah had dashed out the door in only god knows what direction.
At a loss of what to do Harper rose to her feet to examine herself in Rebekah's mirror. A small smile of fascination crept over her lips the longer she stared at her fantastical appearance. She truly looked medieval. The front of her chestnut hair was intricately braided into a crown around her head, in a very similar style to Rebekah's, while not a smattering of skin was on show besides what the small rectangular neckline of her dress revealed. The gold dress had been well worn and had faded deeply in colour yet it still managed to accentuate the yellow of her iris, the rose flush of her cheeks and the soft ivory of her skin until it was quite flattering – a look she had found very hard to achieve back home where the tanner you were the more desirable you became – yet somehow in this dress she felt somewhat…pretty. 'Looking good McAllister' she thought flirtatiously sending herself a wink.
Harper had been almost lost in her own reflection when she heard the happy barking of her only other new friend besides Rebekah, Olive. She assumed Olive was barking at Elijah and she amended that she might as well go and apologize for her behaviour that morning although she didn't really believe she had anything to be apologetic about. Even so, she thought, I'm not totally sure how long I'll be stuck here so it's probably not a good idea to start recruiting enemies.
Harper moved towards the door, pulling the cloth to onside so she could greet and make amends with Elijah.
Although, to her great surprise the man, who was tickling Olive's belly while she barked happily in response, was not Elijah, but rather a tall, man with wavy blonde hair that pooled softly around his broad shoulders. Feeling an intense inquisitive stare on him the man turned to meet the intrusive eyes of the water revealing to Harper a strong jaw that was lightly dusted with a five-O'clock shadow and two orbs of green that shimmered with confusion mixed with an essence of humour.
He raised an eyebrow at this strange girl that was staring at him from the doorway of his sister's hut, but she continued to stare unfazed.
"Man, he's hot!" Harper couldn't help thinking, giving him another once over with her eyes.
"Hot?" The man questioned shaking his head at Harper while her face flushed a bright crimson in horrid realisation. Oh my god! Did I actually say that out loud?!
I am not 'hot'" the man continued ignoring her obvious embarrassment "I am Niklaus. Niklaus Mikaelson."
He raised another fine eyebrow at her with blatant curiosity.
"And you are?"

I don't even know where to start with my apologies. This third chapter has taken a horrifically long time to get to you lovely loyal readers and for that I am SO sorry! I've just been majorly swamped with assessments and exams that I honestly have not had the time! But I know I cannot express my sorrow with words alone and you all would probably prefer it in the form of quick, amazing chapters! So I will try my very very best to get the next Chapter to you within the week!
I would just like to express my utmost thank you's to everyone who reviewed, favourite and/or followed 'Fixing Klaus' I have much love for you. But the biggest thank you of ALL goes to the lovely Kiome love-chan who sent me a PM and really inspired me to get writing again! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I really need the kick up the behind!
Okay and with this chapter, I really hope it meets your expectations although I am also apologetic that nothing too exciting really happens in here. More interactions with all the other Mikaelson brothers awaits you next chapter, but this was really to do with explaining Harper's situation and really setting the scene. I know it lacked action but I do hoped you enjoyed it anyway!
PS: Anyone who is watching 'The Originals' which I am assuming you all are – HOW GREAT IS IT?! I mean I am such a big originals fan, they are my favourite characters, I sincerely love all of them!
Okay, once again thank you for reading! Please, if you are not too angry with me drop me a review telling me about which Mikaelson brother you think Harper truly belongs to cause I am kind of rethinking the whole romantic plot. SO yeah, your input would be handy :D
Much love to you all!
And Happy Reading!
Many Loves
