"Sakura, my love," sang a tired Makoto. Hoshigaki Makoto was tired beyond belief, she had a young child who was just barely 7 months, but already trying to walk on her own. God, she had only just stopped breastfeeding her last month and Mako prayed that it would give her energy to continue on with her tasks, but alas, she continued to feel tired beyond belief. "Sakura, my beautiful child, where are you?" A pale hand ran across her face in an attempt to wake her from the nap she so dreamed about.

Where the hell was her husband when she needed him? Oh, right. He'd been on a rampage as of late. He'd begun the process of moving them out of Kirigakure in the middle of the night, this was, in fact, their last day in Kiri. Kisame had caught his traitor sensei making deals with other villages and leaking the information he had been so carefully hiding. Today, he was going to confront his superior and kill him if the rumors proved to be true. All she had to do, was sneak out her and Sakura and begin to make their way over to the outskirts of Ame where they had already found an apartment.

Suddenly, Mako felt a shudder rush through her. She tapped into her eye doujutsu and saw the massive wave of chakra surrounding the outside building. She needed to get out, quickly too. She had one piece of luck on her side, no one but the hospital staff had known that Sakura had been born. Slowly and calmly, she walked over to where Sakura was playing with her toys and slipped a small amount of chakra into her system to have her sleep through this. She hid her sleeping form behind the bed and tucked into the corner of the room. No one would notice her there.

Regardless of her family kakkei-genkai, she had very small chakra reserves for a retired genin and knew that the best she could do was lead the fight away from Sakura and try to alert Kisame. She left the apartment and set out to look like she was buying groceries, walking along the pathway she always took to get them. Before she could even turn around to face her opponents, a katana pierced through her heart. She coughed up pools of blood and began to teeter over, falling quickly. With her last breath, she let out her call to Kisame.

'Anata, if you can hear me, Sakura is in danger. I love you.'

XOXO

Kisame growled as he heard his wife's call. He grabbed Samehada out of the chest of his mentor and rushed over towards his wife. Today was the day to bathe in bloodshed.

When Hoshigaki Sakura was 7 months old, she became the sole family member to her single father. She didn't cry that day or at all during the following year and a half. At 7 months old, Sakura knew that she needed to be strong for her father and smiled all the time.

When Hoshigaki Kisame was 18 years old, he buried his dead wife in a cemetery in Amegakure. He cried in private and killed viciously in the shadows of the night. Every scared child he came across younger than 3 years, he spared. All he could see was his daughter's eyes in their own gazes. Their parents and guardians were his targets, not the children who didn't know better. He'd probably regret this when they would get older, but he couldn't kill anyone with Sakura's innocent eyes staring back at him.

Oh gosh, I hated killing Makoto so much that this whole chapter seemed really shitty to me. I hope you guys can forgive me. But here's where Sakura's life truly begins and where the next chapter of Kisame's life begins. My heart is still breaking. I love you guys though!

Also! If anyone saw the review where my story was compared to Hoshigaki, please understand that that's where I got my inspo from, but our stories are extremely different. Such as the Akatsuki's role in this world compared to canon and their story, the true bad guy of the story, and the major characters who are alive and dead.
