Welcome to Beacon Chapter 2 - Flirt Grimm

The next morning, Ruby was the first one to be awake. It was only 6 in the morning right now. Ruby happened to wake up early due to her excitement of being at Beacon. Ruby quickly changed into her combat outfit and decided to take a walk around the school. Ruby walked slowly enjoying the view around her new school. She kept walking until she saw a red-haired girl who was looking up at the sky.

"Hey."

Ruby approached, trying not to sound too awkward. The girl looked back, surprised that someone was up at a time like this.

"Oh, hello."

Ruby nodded as she stood beside the girl, looking up at the sky like the girl did.

"My name is Ruby. Ruby Rose."

"Pyrrha Nikos. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too!"

"So, umm Ruby. You're up early."

Ruby giggled.

"Yea. I guess I was... Excited."

"Same here."

Pyrrha smiled softly and looked down at the shorter girl.

"Well... It'd be great if we can I don't know... Hang out some time later?"

Ruby asked as she fidgeted with her fingers.

"Sure, that sounds grand."

"Yay!"

Ruby lit up and jumped up and down at the spot.

"My sister keeps telling me about how I need to meet new people and make more friends. But I'm kinda awkward when it comes to... Well, socializing. I can't really find anything else to say other than "let's hang out' or something like that."

Pyrrha giggled.

"Anyways, sorry to cut this short, but I should be going back before any of my friends wake up."

"Oh yes, I should get going too."

Ruby nodded and the two girls in red walked together back to the auditorium in silence. Ruby Rose, the socially awkward failed at coming up with a good topic to talk about, and Pyrrha Nikos, the a-bit-too-kind of a person was simply worried that she might annoy the other girl.

When Ruby and Pyrrha came back to the auditorium, Blake was already awake, with a book in her hand.

"Ruby, where have you been?"

"Just a walk. Meeting new people."

Ruby answered as she gestured toward Pyrrha.

"Yang would be happy to hear that."

"She'd be teasing me about how awkward I am around people."

Both Blake and Pyrrha laughed at Ruby's words.

"Pyrrha, this is Blake. Blake, this is Pyrrha."

"Hello."

Blake simply nodded.

Time flew by, and it was already time for lunch. Ruby grabbed her cookies and milk and sat at a table where Weiss, Blake, and Yang were already seated at.

"Rubes, those are not healthy."

"You're the one to say?"

Ruby said as she pointed at a burger Yang was eating.

"Hey, there's tomatoes and lettuces in this burger. At least I'm eating my vegetables unlike you."

"Whatever."

Ruby said as she rolled her eyes, clearly not wanting to hear another word from her sister. As the four girls continued to eat, they noticed someone approaching the table.

"Is this seat taken?"

The girl said motioning at the seat beside Ruby.

"No, take a seat. Oh hey, Pyrrha!"

"Hello, Ruby."

"Oh Yang, Weiss, this is Pyrrha. Pyrrha, this is Weiss, and my sister Yang."

Ruby introduced Pyrrha to Weiss and Yang since Blake has already met Pyrrha in the morning.

"Hello."

"Nice to meet you."

"Yo. Hey Rubes, when did you meet her? We were together the whole time!"

"Oh, just this morning actually. I happened to wake up early today."

"Ah, Ruby, chill there sis. Waking up early to pick up some chicks? Jeez."

"Yang!"

Ruby banged on the table loudly and Pyrrha softly laughed at the scene as she took a seat beside Ruby.

"Pyrrha, right?"

Pyrrha nodded.

"Be careful. My sis here is some sort of a flirt Grimm or something."

"Wha-why do you keep saying things like that Yang?!"

"You know it's the truth."

"It's not!"

"Hey, but Pyrrha's cute isn't she?"

"Well yea she's gorgeous but I'm NOT flirting with her!"

"Mmhmm. Pyrrha you heard that? My sister thinks you're gorgeous."

"Oh, umm th-thank you."

Pyrrha thanked Ruby for the compliment with her cheeks turning pink.

"Well, it's the truth. Like, you're really tall, really pretty, and you're skinny too. Oh, and I love your hair."

Ruby said as she rolled up the end of Pyrrha's ponytail around her index finger. Yang laughed at the scene.

"Ummm... Mm.. That's.. Very nice of you, thank you."

Pyrrha said, now her face bright red as if she was about to explode or something.

"See what I'm talking about?"

Yang said as she laughed.

"What?"

Ruby gave Yang a glare demanding an explanation.

"Nothing."

Yang refused to answer, and she munched on her burger.

After some simple announcements from Glynda, the students headed to their assigned locker. Ruby complained about how awkward she was when it came to socializing as she took out her crescent rose from her locker.

"Come on sis, make more friends."

"Ugh, you sound like dad! Plus, I made enough friends!"

"Really? Are you gonna just stick around with 4 friends for the whole time?"

"Well-ugh. Whatever."

"Rubes, you need to socialize with more people. They'll help you grow."

"I don't need people to help me grow! I, drink, milk!"

Ruby said proudly.

"Ugh, you don't get it."

"Hey, what am I not getting?"

"Well-"

"Awful! My locker was somewhere around here for sure!"

Yang was interrupted by some guy who seemed to be looking for his locker.

"Hey, you..."

Ruby caught his attention.

"Huh?"

"Hmm... You look familiar.."

"Umm... Do I?"

"Yes, you do... Oh! You're the guy that threw up on the ship!"

The guy groaned.

"Ugh, my name is Jaune Arc. A name that every ladies love."

"Hmm, do they?"

"Well, I-I don't know. I wish they do!"

"I know I do."

"You, you do?"

"Yea, Jaune's a nice name. Oh, by the way, I'm Ruby Rose."

"Ruby Rose, got it."

"Oh, and she's my sister. Yang."

"Got it."

The three started to introduce themselves to each other, trying to help Jaune find his locker. Well more like Ruby did. Yang, she wasn't exactly excited to look for someone's missing locker, so she just left without a word.

"It was somewhere around here!"

"Well, it clearly isn't."

"Wait, maybe... I can call it over...?"

Jaune said as he took out his scroll from his pocket.

"That wouldn't be a good idea, considering that it would smash right into the floor, leaving cracks for Professor Goodwitch to deal with."

"You're right."

Jaune sighed and Ruby laughed. As the two continued to look for Jaune's missing locker, they ran into Pyrrha and Weiss.

"Oh hey Pyrrha! Hey Weiss!"

"Hello, Ruby."

Ruby and Pyrrha greeted each other while Jaune tried to flirt with Weiss. Of course, Weiss was not exactly excited by his acts, and Jaune immediately turned to Pyrrha and tried to flirt with her.

"Ugh, do you even have any idea of who you're talking to?!"

"Umm."

Jaune glanced at Ruby seeking for some help, but Ruby only shrugged. Weiss went on about how great of a person Pyrrha Nikos was, letting Jaune down.

"Do you still think that you're suitable for her?!"

"I, I guess not..."

"Oh hey, Jaune! We can be on the same team!"

Ruby said.

"Really?"

"Of course! Why not? Ohhhhh! How about all 4 of us be in the same team? A team should have 4 people, right?"

"That sounds grand."

"No. No no no no no no, and no."

"Ugh Weiss come on!"

Ruby said as she approached Weiss, putting her arm around her waist, not shoulder as any other people would do.

"Wha-what-"

"Come on Weiss~~"

Weiss was wearing her heels, making her slightly taller than Ruby, which caused the shorter girl to look up at her with her puppy eyes.

"Weiss~~"

Ruby said as she pulled Weiss closer to her. Pyrrha was just standing there calmly as she watched the two, and Jaune was there thinking about how Ruby was an expert at flirting with people. Well, more like flirting with girls in particular but anyways, Rubby's puppy eyes got it's way once again.

"Ugh, fine! Now, take your hand off of me!"

Weiss said as she pushed Ruby away.

"Yay!"

Ruby cheered as she raised her arms high up in the air.

"Oh and Pyrrha!"

"Yes?"

"Be on our team!"

"Sure."

Pyrrha said as she smiled.

"Oh wait, we'd be late if we don't hurry up. Let's go."

Ruby said after cheering once again.

When everyone gathered by the Emerald Forest, Ozpin and Glynda made their announcements about the teams, and how the partners and teams were gonna be chosen.

"Ugh."

Ruby groaned. And she thought that she would be able to be in the same team with her friends!

"Now, does anyone have any questions?"

"Uhh... I do."

Ozpin ignored Jaune's question and started to "shoot" the students up in the air. When Jaune was finally able to catch Ozipin's attention, his questions were answered one by one, but before he's the last question could be answered, he was already up in the air.

Everyone used their weapons, or their "techniques" to slow themselves down when falling down, so they wouldn't fall head first to the ground. Well, almost everyone.

"Gahhhhhhhhh!"

Pyrrha heard a loud scream and turned her milo into a sphere form, and threw it towards Jaune, letting him get stuck to the tree. At least he didn't fall straight to the ground, because if he did, he wouldn't have survived.

"Thank you!"

"I'm sorry!"

Pyrrha yelled as she waved her hands towards the direction where Jaune should have been.

On the other hand, Ruby was still running through the forest, worried about who she can partner up with. She wanted to be partners with either Yang, Weiss, Blake, or Pyrrha. Jaune was funny but considering his behavior, he probably wouldn't make a great fighter. She didn't really know anyone else from the first year, and she was socially awkward, so partnering up with anyone else wouldn't go well for her.

"Ugh!"

She shook her head to get rid of all the negative thoughts. When she looked up, she was running towards someone all in white.

"Wo-woahhh!"

Before she could stop her self, she crashed into the person, causing them to fall on the floor.

"Ugh..."

Ruby looked down only to see Weiss groaning under her.

"Oh, um..."

"What are you doin-"

Weiss looked up to see Ruby's apologetic face right in front of her face. Their face was so close, that they could even feel each other softly breathing.

"Ru, Ruby?"

"Ahaha... Hi Weiss..."

Sapphire met a pool of silver staring down at her. Ruby smelled like chocolate and Rose, and that smell got Weiss irritated for some reason. Their lips were only a few inches apart, which looked like they were about to crash into each other any second.

"Ge-Get off of me you dolt!"

"Woah! I'm so-sorry!"

Ruby quickly stood up, and so did Weiss. Weiss brushed the dust off of her skirt feeling a deja vu.

"So... I guess we're partners?"

Ruby said as she rubbed her knees that were hurting from some dramatic fall.

"... It seems like it."

Weiss said as she sighed.

A/N. So that's it for today! Ruby met Pyrrha and Jaune. She'll be running into more characters in the next chapter. Ugh, I'm a bit slow at trying to move things along, but I should hurry up and put them into teams and everything. Well, I'm trying...
