Chapter Two

I paced in front of the gate waiting for the three visitors who were summoned to the Hokage's office. It had been two hours since Naruto and crew left. I stopped pacing and looked back towards the village and could see three people walking towards the gate. As they got closer, I ran towards them and stopped in front of the boy with red hair and looked into his mint colour eyes.

"Take me with you Gaara, please?" I asked. Temari rolled her eyes and Kankuroū sighed. Gaara looked sadly at me.

"Your Hokage says she doesn't want you to go." he said softly. I shook my head. I had to go, I had to to follow. I had to talk to Sasuke. I looked up at them and pleaded. "Please." Kankuroū rubbed his head. "Let her come, Gaara, it is her brother." Gaara sighed.

"Alright." he said. "Come, we must go." the Sand Siblings took off and I smiled slightly as I held my finger up to my mouth looking at Izumo and Kotetsu. They smiled and nodded quickly and I left taking after Gaara. I jumped from tree branch to tree branch catching up to the three of them. Gaara stopped suddenly and I almost smashed right into him. Kankuroū and Temari had stopped ahead on the branches and I looked at Gaara.

"Why'd we stop?" I heard Temari ask. Gaara closed his eyes. "Can't you feel it? Its very faint, up ahead." He opened them again, then started moving, slowly this time. We jumped to a few more branches then I looked down and saw Choji laying on the ground. I jumped down and ran over to him. I kneeled next to him and checked his pulse. It was barely there.

"Saya, lets go. The medical ninja will come. There's nothing you can do right now." Gaara said. I sighed as I stood up and jumped back onto the branch. Again we moved from branch to branch and a little while later I saw Neji laying, unconscious, on the ground. My heart skipped a beat and again I dropped to the ground and ran over to him.

"Neji. Neji?" I called out to him, reaching his side. I put my ear to his chest and tried to hear the sound of his heart. I couldn't hear it and I could feel the tears rush to my eyes as I looked up at Gaara who was now standing next to me.

"The medical ninjas.." he started to say, but I cut him off. "There's no time for them. We have to save him..now...well try to..please Gaara." Gaara sighed and looked up towards his sand siblings.

"You two, go find the others. You may have to help them. We will catch up." Temari and Kankuroū nodded and then disappeared. I looked up at Gaara. "You don't have to stay.." I said quietly. Gaara sat down next to me and pulled out some herbs and handed them to me. "See if you can get him to chew on this, it'll help."

I thanked him and carefully put them in Neji's mouth, closing it and hoping for the best. "You can catch up when you can, Saya. I see you care deeply about him." I heard Gaara say softly. I looked up at him. Care deeply about him? I laughed slightly. "He's just a friend.." I said, just as soft. Gaara smirked slightly. "Right." he said. "Catch up when you can." he said as he hopped back onto the branches and took off. I watched him leave, then turned my attention back to Neji. What did Gaara meant by me caring deeply about him?

I looked down at Neji. The perfectionist, the high-achiever. I slowly ran my finger down his cheek, then brushed some of his long dark brown hair out of the way. He was always a cold person towards others, but was a great fighter. I could remember the rounds that he fought first against his cousin, then against Naruto. That was the day he learned something. I remember, after his match with Naruto, I went to go see him in the medical room. At the time, he was in there with his uncle and I listened to them basically make up. It warmed my heart. After the tournament ended, Neji had changed. He was more kinder towards everyone, even to his cousin, Hinata.

I traced my fingers down his face slowly. His skin was clammy and cold. I ran my finger along his lips. "Hang in there Neji." I whispered to him. I could hear the rustle of bushes and looked up seeing one of the medical ninjas appear. He ran over towards us and looked Neji over. "We have to get him back to the village or he wont make it." he quickly said. "I'm going to try to heal him before moving him. Are you going to come back with me?"

I shook my head. I had to go catch up to everyone. The medical ninja smiled softly at me. "He's in good hands. He'll be taken care of."

"Alright.." I said, quietly, then turned away and ran in the direction Gaara headed. Soon the forest broke away into a field and I could see Gaara and Lee fighting someone else. I didn't see Naruto anywhere. I ran past the three heading towards the Valley of the End. I could hear the water fall and knew I was close. Soon I was looking over the cliff and I could see Naruto and Sasuke fighting. I saw Sasuke lunge at Naruto and Naruto lunge towards Sasuke and I could feel the tremendous amount of chakra.

The two collided and a giant black spear enclosed around the two and I quickly jumped down, landing on the water. When the spear faded I ran over and saw Sasuke leaning over an unconscious Naruto. Next thing I knew, I lost it. I shoved my brother, hard, away from Naruto and watched him skid across the water. He looked up at me, his eyes revealing the Sharingan. He regained his balance and stood up, smirking.

"I see your Sharingan's have fully matured." I heard my brother say. I clenched my fists. "Why are you doing this Sasuke? Are you trying to kill Naruto?" Sasuke took a few steps towards me.

"I have to get stronger to defeat Itachi, Saya. In order to do that, I need to awaken the Mangekyō, then I'll be as strong as Itachi and I will kill him." he said, coldly. I shook my head and I stumbled backwards as my brother appeared in front of me. He was fast, something was really wrong, really off with him. "Don't you want revenge sister? To be able to awaken your Mangekyō?" I shook my head again.

"Not..not like this. Sasuke..come back to the village with me, please.." I begged him. Sasuke shook his head. "I need to get stronger and I can't do that when I have weak and pathetic people around me. You can get stronger by killing the one you are close to." I stared at him. Kill someone? Never. I could never kill anyone.

"There has to be other ways Sasuke. You just can't kill someone." Sasuke looked past me towards Naruto and I started feeling sick.

"I wanted to kill him." he said, coolly, and I shivered. Next I could hear the familiar chirping sound and looked down to see him with chidori. "I should take you out first dear sister, or you will always be a thorn in my side, just like Naruto." I took a step back and just wanted to run, but I couldn't. My brother was planning on killing me.

"Brother..stop! This isn't like you!" I said. Sasuke smiled, but it never reached his eyes. They were so cold. He raised the chidori and pointed it towards me and started running at me. I didn't know what was happening next, but it felt like I was drowning, falling.

"Let me help you, Saya. The two of us can defeat your brother." I felt the darkness around me. "Hurry. Nod if you want my help."

I didn't know what was going on, but I nodded and before I felt myself black out, I saw it. This beautiful white wolf with ten tails appeared.

"Sleep, I'm in control now." I heard it say and for some reason I trusted it.

Kakashi, with Pakkun, arrived to find two bodies laying on the ground. Kakashi ran over to the unconscious boy and Pakkun to the girl and sniffed her. "Kakashi, I think we have a bit of a problem here." the dog said. Kakashi picked up Naruto and put him on his back and walked over to the dog. "There is a tailed beast in her. I can smell it on her." Kakashi nodded.

"Yeah, the seal is becoming weak, like Naruto's." he said, just as he heard a familiar voice call down to him. He looked up and saw Asuma standing at the top of the cliff. He jumped down and walked over to them.

"No Sasuke?" he asked, lighting up a cigarette. Kakashi shook his head slowly and watched as Asuma picked up the unconscious Saya. "Both had a rough go with Sasuke huh."

"Looks that way." Kakashi replied. "Lets get them back to the village." he said as he left, Asuma following behind.
