"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."
― Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom

(I added this quote of Nelsons to honor his death. Its not much, but he was a very inspirational man. R.I.P Nelson Mandela)

The bruises and scars that marked his skin were no longer there. The scars healed to white strips and the bruises disappeared completely. Dried blood scattered here there as a reminder of what had happened to his skin. Jennifer's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Isn't it abnormally weird to heal so supernaturally fast?

She caressed his skin with the tips of her fingers. Gently moving over the scars. Awe-struck by how smooth his skin his. His skin wasn't cold any more, but it felt like touching the surface of a warm sea. Jennifer smiled as she pushed his fringe away. Maybe she was happy that the boy was alright, or maybe its because he looks too familiar? Either way, she wasn't sure. Her hand moved down to cup his left cheek again. Percy flinched away.

Abruptly she stumbled to her feet. Taking a step at a time away from him. The further away she is, the less awkward it would be. However, the boys eyes did not flutter open but remained close. Sighing in relief, Jenny walked back into the kitchen to fix herself some hot chocolate. She pulled out the ingredients(A bar of bittersweet chocolate, milk, sugar, cocoa powder, whip cream and marshmallow) then she proceeded to make herself a cup. Pulling out her earphones and putting them on, she turned up the volume on her iPhone and sang along to the song.

As the melted chocolate, sugar and milk mixture boiled she added the marshmallows. Then poured it into a cup. Pipping the whip cream on top of the drink and sprinkling some coca powder. "Hot chocolate all for me!" Jennifer licked her bottom lip, gazing at the drink with a watering mouth.

Leaving the drink to cool, she tidied up.

Percy's eyes fluttered open to the sound of singing. He sat up, wincing slight as his bones cracked back into place. Rubbing his eyes to rid himself of drowsiness. He carefully stood up, confused as to where he was or what happened. Did a monster capture him? Is it a siren or something of its likes? He crept forward, sticking the darkness that enveloped the walls. He drew out his sword in disguise. Holding its weight it his left hand; awaiting any sign of danger to remove its lid and fight.

The sound led him to a kitchen where he stood facing the back of a girl. Her hair fell down in a fishtail with loose bits coming out in a sort of scattering locks. She didn't seem to notice him nor hear his harsh breathing. A siren wouldn't show him the back of a girl he doesn't know, and any beast would have heard him approach, well more like smell him. Though the girl seems perfectly human.

She sprayed some cleanser and dried it off with a cloth.

Jennifer stuffed the cloth in her back pocket, then she took a step back to admire her cleaning skills. Grabbing her cup, she took a sip. Singing along to Hey Mickey and swaying to the beat, she turned on her heels to head back to the diner only to stop mid-way.

They both stood staring at each other. Frozen.

Percy smirked as the girl sang to Hey Mickey as her lower part swayed. The smirk soon feel off his face when the girl turned and faced him. Shell-shocked, Percy wasn't able to move away.

He stood studying her eyes. The were normal, nothing unique about them. Plain brown hidden behind a pair of RayBan glasses. But the long lashes that lined above and under them caused her eyes to pop out. His eyes lingered at her eyes for a few moments then moved to examining her further. Olive skin tone, dark hair with light reddish highlights, her weight was average and her lips were full and pink. She seemed to be a Latin American, or maybe she's Spanish?

"You're up." It wasn't a question, it was a statement. Her words were breathy and he liked the way her face flushed when she talked.

"Um.. Yeah. You are?" Could this be any less awkward?

"Huh, oh. Jennifer. I found you outside, you were on verge of losing coincious so I took you in." She licked her bottom lip, flushing a furious red.

"Oh. Thank you. I'm Percy." He thrust his hand out for her. She grasped it with hers and they shook hands. Percy was hundred percent sure that he was sweating from all the nervous that knotted within his stomach.

"So.." Jennifer rocked on the balls of her feet.

"So?" Smiled Percy.

She smiled back. "How are you feeling?"

"Great." He ruffled his hair, nervously.

The boy is strange. There's no other way to describe him. How could he have healed those wounds so fast? But whenever Jennifer confronted him about the subject he'd simply shrug it off and drag in another story that covers up her burning curiosity. Could he be a supernatural creature, though Jenny knew them to be myths her mind still carried on wondering. Although his wounds healed, his body was still tired.

Time trickled by and dawn soon broke. Jenny's phone would light up whenever her mother called or text and she had to explain to her that she's staying at Miranda's tonight. Little did her parents know that she was staying with a boy.

"Do you have a place to stay?" She yawned. Percy shook his head, no.

"Um, Do you wnat to stay at my friend's house? Her parents are out of the country.. so?"

"Yeah, sure but would she mind me?" Gods please, let this be a safe night. Prayed Percy.

"She wouldn't mind you, in fact she's dying to meet you." And with that Jenny locked the diner and they took off into the empty streets to Marinade's house.
