Purgatory
Johnny and some of the boys had just cleared the living room of the couches and chairs. They brought in the long dinning table and plenty of chairs. Sid, Carlos and Shaundi were in the kitchen making thanksgiving dinner well at least Carlos was trying to cook dinner. Sid and Shaundi were sitting on the kitchen table trying and failing to frost a cake for dessert.
"If we can't get this right soon I'm gunna throw it and go buy some pie!" Sid exclaimed getting extremly frustrated she finally gave up and stabbed the cake and got up.
"I'll just go buy some frozen pies. Anyone have any allergies?" Sid asked as she grabbed her coat.
"Uh Tristen can't eat strawberries, and Pierce can't eat peach." Shaundi said eatting the messed up cake.
"Damn I like peach. Alright I'll be back." Sid said sadly. She kissed Carlos goodbye and grabbed her keys and her wallet and walked out the garage.
"Did you get the ring?" Shaundi asked excitedly.
"Yeah look isn't it perfect she'll love it It was my mothers she's really looking forward to Sid being part of the family. Mom is so happy I'm going to settle down." Carlos said pulling a purple velvet box out of his pocket and opening it. It was a purple cushin cut diamond with white diamonds in the band. 'en esto comenzamos juntos' was in inscribed on the inside of the band.
"What does that mean?" Shaundi asked as she held the ring.
"It means 'In this we begin toegether'. My father gave it to my mother as her engagment ring. The story went that my father met my mother when she was in mexico visting her aunt. Mama was in town shopping with abuelita for a new dress. Their eyes met from across the street and dad fell instantly in love with mama. He was working with his father at his families market stall selling food from the farm. Mama went up to him and asked his name. My father gave her his name and asked if she would like to go to dinner with him that night. My mother accepted and they spent the whole two weeks of my mothers trip together. They wrote each other after the trip until mamas 21st birthday then dad came to america and he brought a ring he had made for mama and when he asked my mama to marry him he said, ' I love you so much my dear and if you say yes in this we begin together.'" Carlos sighed happily.
Purgatory a few hours later
Sid was bringing out the pies for dessert.
"Alright Pierce dont eat this one." as she pointed to a pie near her "And Tristen dont eat that one." as she pointed to another pie further down the table. She sat down just as Carlos got up.
"Sid Ihave to talk to you about something." Carlos said nervously.
"whats up Carlitos?" Sid asked not even noticing that carlos had kneeled next to her and opened the ring box.
"mi amor will you marry me?" Carlos asked with a quiver to his voice. Everyone went silent and Johnny dropped his knife.
"puto infierno carlos cabrón!" Sid exclaimed reverting to spanush in her shock.
"Is that a you bastard yes or you bastard no?" Carlos asked as he started to sweat nervously.
"YES Dios mío YES Carlitos!" Sid screamed tackling Carlos to the floor. Carlos took the ring and slipped it onto Sids finger.
