Tail of Luvic

Chapter 3: Palleden? No, it's Paladin!

Two weeks later...

*TANG, CLASH!*

It was amazing, his progress in all forms of combat accelerating at a speed thought previously impossible. Lord Grayson looked at Luvic, only two weeks of training and the boy was changing from his sloppy slow brawler movements, to a more precise, fast, and dangerous form. Albeit he still needed to work on it, but Grayson can see into the boy's eyes. He was adapting, looking for openings, following his forms and adding his own ingenuity, he was, in full view, the perfect trainee, and perhaps the perfect warrior.

Of course that perfect warrior needs to be trained correctly, and he needs a good teacher to keep him on the right path, its been long since Grayson had a good pupil, and the boy is definitely a good one.

He blocked Luvic's strike again and decided to change forms, he switched from the basic footman form to the Knight form. Luvic's eyes widened to the sudden change, he didn't expect this, good. Grayson brought the practice sword to Luvic's head, Luvic rolled between his legs, that's new. Luvic did a sharp turn bringing his own wooden sword to Grayson's legs, but Grayson stepped back easily out of the child's reach.

"Your getting better Luvic, but you can't expect your opponent to stay in the same form." Grayson commented, he glanced at the clock nearby. "It's about time for studying too."

Luvic sighed, he hated studying, but he loved the battles and war stories that came along the history lessons. "Yes sensei." He bowed and put away his training sword.

'Sensei, I remember when he started calling me that. It sounds better than teacher or master, a nice sense of respect too. I'll have to get future pupils to call their teachers sensei.'

Back to Luvic, the young saiyan made his way toward the library. He walked right in and picked 'Child's Guide to the Alliance' off the shelves, and with the help of a nice lady tutor called Anna, he slowly but surely continued to learn how to read.

And over the next few hours, Luvic read about the formation of the Alliance and its motives, he read about the destructive and bloodthirsty horde that attempted to eradicate the races of the Alliance. His saiyan blood began to boil as his reading of the Alliance's battles against the horde continued. Even through it took a while to actually get into the meaning of the words on the page, he was learning at an average pace.

The three and a half year old Luvic looked up from his book, now able to read at a slow pace. He looked at the clock above all the library bookshelves and found it lunch time. A smile spread wide across his face, his tail wagging back and forth like that strange super strong puppy in the Keep's inner park. Luvic got off his seat after closing his book and made his way toward the dining hall once again, only to meet the only person there being the King's son, Anduin.

Luvic sat next to the ten year old pre-teen. Awaiting his food as was the prince, after a few short minutes, the much younger saiyan decided to speak.

"I'm Luvic, what's your name?" The full-blooded saiyan greeted.

Anduin Llane Wyrnn was a good and kind prince, he ruled Stormwind along with his adviser and Bolvar earlier when his father had gone missing. Under his short rule he successfully managed to keep the people of the Alliance in good moral until his father returned.

"I'm Anduin, pleasure to meet you Luvic." He replied, shaking the young child's hand.

"So, what do you do? I'm training to be a palledan." Luvic mispronounced.

Anduin smiled and corrected the child of light. "You mean paladin? That's a noble goal, I'm training to be a priest, through my father prefer me a warrior he accepts my choice."

"A priest? I'm happy for you! Maybe we can be partners in the future! Both priest and palledan working together!" Luvic said happily.

Anduin laughed. "I'm way older for you for us to be partners, and it's paladin."

Luvic shook his head. "Nu huh, I'll grow faster than most kids, every year is two years for me!" Luvic proclaimed. "I'll be your palledan partner in no time!"

Anduin tilted his head in slight confusion. "Paladin, and I found growing like that hard to believe. Are you some sort of cursed or blessed human?" The prince of Stormwind questioned.

Luvic shook his head. "I'm not a human silly! I'm a saiyan! See, look at my fuzzy wuzzy tail!" He brought his tail into view and wiggled it around to show it really was his.

"How strange, so are you some sort of ambassador for your race? Why send someone so young?" Anduin had many questions about the saiyans, but unfortunately throughout following lunch period Luvic was unable to answer most of them due to lack of knowledge.

Without realizing it, Anduin grew an attachment to the saiyan child. He had a good feeling about Luvic and enjoyed his company, not having many, if at all any friends his age. The prince found joyful companionship with the younger paladin trainee. Anduin didn't even realize his Father looked at him with a smile due to having such a great time with Luvic. The two newly made friends played some games, practiced together, and talked quite a bit throughout the entirety of the day.

"For the last time, it's pronounced paladin." Anduin corrected once again, he did find it annoying how Luvic would slip up on the battle class's name the saiyan child currently trained for.

"Paleden." Luvic responded.

"Ugh, forget it." Anduin gave up, he'll try another time.

The two light gifted children walked through Old Town, it was nearing the time of sundown and had been hours since they first meet formally at the dining room. Many loyal and hardworking citizens of the city greeted their prince with great gratitude and kindness. However unknown to the two friends, one citizen, wearing a red bandana around her arm and her face covered from peeking eyes, held in her hands a rusty iron dagger. The potential assassin edged closer to the two children, prince and saiyan, in a attempt to murder Anduin in cold blood.

Luvic's saiyan senses went haywire, screaming at him that a threat is nearby. The young child of light followed his instincts by turning around quickly and shooting a Ki blast right into the stomach of the assassin.

Anduin turned around, and watched as the 'spell' Luvic cast blasted back a disguised women, a rusty dagger shooting straight up into the air and sticking into the wooden support of a house.

The assassin got up quickly, and charged at the two yelling.

"For the brotherhood!" She said, charging blindly with bare hands at the prince's throat.

Luvic charged forward, his saiyan blood boiling for a fight, he slid and hit the assassin's legs, tripping her and causing her to fall to the stone floor. Luvic rolled back up to standing position saw as Anduin cast a light-ordinated spell which smite the assassin on the floor to unconsciousness.

Luvic frowned only for a split second at such a quick and pathetic skirmish, and then smiled on how such a utter failure of a murder attempt it was.

Standing upright and walking toward Anduin, Luvic then said. "Aw man, I was hoping for it to be longer!"

Anduin tore off a red bandana around the woman's arm. "Defias? I thought they were disbanded when a group of adventurers tore down their leader."

"Defias? What are they, a bunch of bandits?" The saiyan child questioned.

Anduin replied. "If you think of them like so, yeah." The two children were then greeted by a few soldiers who came running toward the scene when a citizen screamed out.

"My prince, are you well!?" A guard said. The other ones grabbing the out cold Defias women.

"Yes, bring that woman to the keep, I'm sure my father will interrogate her." The guards nodded and tied up the assassin before dragging her to the Keep.

"Hey Anduin." Luvic said.

"Yeah Luvic?" Anduin replied.

"You wanna go eat?" The three year old asked.

"Sure, I'm a bit peckish."

"And Anduin?"Luvic asked again.

"Yeah?"

"Can you teach me that awesome move you did!" The child of light suddenly shouted out.

Anduin just went into full blown laughter, before calming down and catching his breath long enough for him to reply to the younger child. "Sorry, priest only. Your a paladin."

"Well I hope my palledan training teaches me something cool!"

Anduin twitched. "For the last time, it's pronounced paladin!"

Luvic only giggled childishly as the two friends journeyed back to the Keep to eat their fill.
