"Now what ya damn rat?" Yuki sighed as he sat back on his bed.
"First, I need you to not start screaming. Do you think you can handle that?" Kyo glared daggers at the rat but didn't shout, knowing Kagura come up if he did. "Good. Now I know you won't like my plan; I don't even like it, but I can't think of anything else. The only way I can think to explain a random girl in the house was if you…" Yuki trailed of at the end, causing Kyo to scowl.
"If I what? Just tell me damn it." It was Yuki's turn to glare as he sat up, eye level wit Kyo.
"Fine. The only way I can think of to explain away a random girl in the house was if you were my girlfriend. Are you happy now? Do you honestly think that I like this plan?" Kyo stood there in shock, his eyes wide as he stared at Yuki.
"Wha-!" Yuki quickly leaned forward and covered Kyo's mouth, his other hand going to the back of his head to make sure he didn't back up.
"Shh! Like I said, do you think I like this any more than you do? Why would anyone want to actually out with you?" Yuki felt slight remorse when he saw a flash of hurt pass through Kyo's eyes but he pushed it aside for the moment. "It's me or Kagura, and at least you know I won't kill you." Yuki slowly took his hands away once he was sure Kyo wouldn't freak out.
"You can plan out whatever the hell you want, but I can't exactly stay mute all night!" Kyo felt a moment of panic when he saw Yuki wince but gradually relaxed when he didn't heat footsteps coming upstairs. Yuki rolled his eyes, moving around Kyo to get off the bed.
"I have faith you're not that stupid. You can think of something." Kyo looked slightly shocked at that, not expecting Yuki to say anything even remotely nice to him.
"I guess." He mumbled, going to stick his hands in his pockets only to remember that he had none at the moment. How the hell am I going to get used to this?…
"Oh Yuki~!" Kyo smirked when he saw Yuki sigh and pinch the bridge of his nose. Then suddenly he grabbed Kyo's arm and pulled him close.
"Pretend you can be civil to me." He hissed as he dragged a still confused Kyo over to his bed and pushed him down.
"Sit there with your knees together. Quick!" Kyo quickly understood as he heard footsteps on the stairs, kicking his old clothes under the bed as he did what he was told. Yuki sat down on his desk chair across from him just as Aya burst in smiling.
"Yuki! There you are!" Kyo chuckled when Aya rushed forward to hug his brother but was stopped with an icy glare. The noise seemed to remind Ayame that there was someone else in the room, for he turned to face Kyo almost as soon as he heard him. "Oh? Don't you look so cute!" Kagura and Tohru had come up for some odd reason, Kagura gasping as she saw Kyo.
"It's you again! When did you get here?" Kyo's eyes went wide as he tried to quickly think of a response.
"I let her in a few minutes after you arrived. You must not have been paying attention while you were looking for Kyo." Kagura looked skeptical for a moment before simply shrugging it off, knowing she had been preoccupied. Tohru smiled and stayed in the doorway.
"I'm Tohru Honda. It's a pleasure to meet you. Ah, Ayame-san. Shigure wanted to know if you wanted to eat out tonight." Ayame's eyes practically lit up as he clapped his hands together.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea!" Kyo sent Yuki a panicked look, knowing they couldn't talk themselves out of going. Yuki almost sighed. Why couldn't I have just let him get caught?
"Why don't we all go? I'm sure we'd all have more fun then." Aya suddenly turned back to Kyo who paled slightly. "I'm Sohma Ayame by the way; Yuki's older brother. Who might you be?" Both Kyo and Yuki struggled to think of something as quickly as possible, Kyo answering first.
"I-I'm Takeda Ch-Chiyo."
"How cute! I'm Sohma Kagura." Kyo made a small sound of surprise when Kagura rushed forward to hug him.
"Y-Yuki!" Kyo got out, fighting to breathe. The rat almost laughed at how frightened he had sounded. He looked over at his brother who had a hand over his mouth, trying just as hard not to snicker at the scene in front of him.
"Tohru, why don't you tell Shigure that Ayame wants everyone to go." Tohru nodded and smiled.
"Alright!" Kyo had just managed to get Kagura off of him when Aya had said that. She jumped up, pulling Kyo up with her.
"Really? Great!" Yuki carefully pulled Kyo away from Kagura as she and Ayame started arguing about where to eat as they exited Yuki's room.
"What the hell are you thinking ya damn rat? When did you suddenly decide that leaving the house was a bright idea?" Kyo hissed out, grabbing Yuki by the front of his shirt.
"I didn't say any-"
"Exactly!" Yuki narrowed his eyes at the cat and put one of his hands around Kyo's wrist.
"I didn't hear you complain baka neko. What did you expect me to do?" Kyo continued to glare at the rat, unwilling to back down. Then suddenly they both heard something on the other side of Yuki's door and the knob slowly turn. Yuki thought quick and pulled Kyo close. He stumbled forward, his arms going around Yuki's neck. Yuki's arms went around his waist to keep him there as the door opened to reveal Shigure standing there with an eyebrow raised.
"Nice timing, but you two are still coming along. Ready to go Chiyo-chan?" Kyo pushed himself off of Yuki, scowling at a sniggering Shigure.
"Shut up damn it!"
"Oh but you looked so cute together!" Kyo stomped past Shigure, intent on just leaving and getting back as soon as possible. "Oh Chiyo-chan~! Ladies step lightly."
Kyo stumbled again when the front of his boot hit an uneven part of the sidewalk. Yuki grabbed his right arm with his left as his other arm wrapped around Kyo and pulled him hip to hip.
"Walk much baka neko?" Kyo crossed his arms and glared at Shigure and Ayame ahead of them.
"You picked these damn things out, didn't you?"
"Perhaps." Kyo looked back at Kagura and Tohru who seemed to be getting along just fine at the moment. "I really hate you for this." Yuki simply shook his head and continued walking.
"I know I know." Kyo frowned and was about to reply when Shigure looked back at them.
"Chiyo-chan, is there anywhere you'd like to go?" Kyo narrowed his eyes and stayed silent, not having figured out how to lighten his voice quite right yet. Beside him, Yuki chuckled as he heard Kyo start grinding his teeth. Shigure smiled brightly.
"Alrighty then!" He turned back to Aya with that, talking to him in hushed tones.
"I don't even want to know." Kyo looked over as Yuki said that.
"It can't be that bad ya damn rat, they have witnesses." Yuki gave Kyo a strange look before looking ahead of him again. What the hell? Don't ignore me! Kyo ground his teeth even harder together and snapped his head forward as well, the sudden movement causing him to go off balance. He nearly fell when his skirt got caught between his legs, the only thing preventing him giving the ground a hug was Yuki's reflexes. Yuki quickly grabbed his shoulder and spun Kyo toward his chest, making him stumble into him rather than onto the pavement. They ended up with Kyo's arms around Yuki's neck again with Yuki's arms around him; their faces inches apart.
"Aww~ How cute!" Kyo blanched before blushing madly, pushing himself away from Yuki. "You two look so cute together!" Shigure and Ayame started chuckling as they turned around to see what Kagura was shouting about.
"Do we need to leave you two alone?" Kyo and Yuki both turned toward Shigure.
"No." Shigure just chuckled at the evil glares that were sent his way. Yuki simply rolled his eyes, moving Kyo so he was on his right side again.
"The hell are you doing?" Kyo hissed as they started walking again.
"Trying to not have you trip you baka neko." Kyo scowled, turning his head away and ignoring the rat.
Kyo and Yuki had walked like that the entire way until they'd gotten in the restaurant, parting immediately. Kyo frowned as a cold shiver worked its way down his spine. When'd it get so cold? Shigure noticed this and grinned, an evil idea forming in his head. He pulled Aya aside and whispered in his ear, a grin slowly working its way onto his face as well.
"Gure, I really love the way you think right now." Shigure continued grinning as a hostess walked up to them.
"Excuse me…"
Kyo wasn't paying them any mind as he looked around, curiosity taking over. Most of the paneling was a dark oak with a dark green plush carpet under them. The dining area was set up like any other diner; the floor a light oak with matching chairs and tables. There was a dark green tablecloth on each table with matching padding on the chairs bringing it all together. It was set up so booths lined all of the walls but the back one, which looked to be entirely windows with a glass door that led to a balcony area. Kyo shivered again, hoping they were seated indoors.
Aya turned to look at everyone they'd dragged with them. Tohru and Kagura were talking about something near the door, Kyo stood by the divider that separated the waiting room from the dinning room, and Yuki stood as far away from Kyo as he could manage looking like he was studying one of the paintings on the walls. Aya looked back at Shigure who nodded and started moving with the hostess.
"We're being seated, let's go." Everyone followed Ayame through the semi-filled dinning room. Various people looked up when they walked by but quickly looked back down when they saw nothing out of the ordinary. Kyo hung his head when he saw that they were indeed going outside to eat. I swear I hate all of them right now.
"Something wrong Chiyo-chan?" Kyo almost didn't answer until he remembered that she was talking to him.
"I'm fine thank you." Shigure shook his head at Aya whose shoulders were shaking from repressed laughter at Kyo's voice. He had raised it a bit no doubt to sound more feminine and, at least in Shigure's opinion, hadn't done that badly. He tightly tapped him on the arm as we went to slide down a long booth. On one side Aya went in first followed by Shigure, then Kagura. Across from them was Kyo, Yuki, and Tohru. Kyo scowled and looked out at the garden area set up on all sides, wrapping his arms around himself.
"Why the long face Chiyo-chan? Cold?" Kyo turned to Shigure and glared at the mutt. He was about to answer when another gust of wind came, making him shiver again. Aya laughed quietly and leaned into Shigure, the dog's arm going around his shoulders.
"That's what boyfriends are for! Right?" He looked down at Tohru and Kagura who both started laughing and shaking their heads in agreement.
"I'm fine." Though he said this, Kyo continued to shiver slightly throughout the waitress handing out the menus and another five minutes of people looking them over. Yuki looked up from his menu again and sighed when he saw Kyo still quietly shaking. Stupid cat. Yuki looked back down and slipped his arm around Kyo, not bothering to look up when he felt Kyo stiffen.
"What are you doing?" Yuki flipped a page in the menu, still not bothering to look up.
"Just say something if you're cold next time." Kyo frowned and looked up at everyone, flushing when he saw Kagura and Ayame smiling at him. He hurriedly put his head back down and glanced over the menu. Kyo never noticing that when he had relaxed it had slid him closer to Yuki.
