Chapter 3/7
I grabbed Ginny and dragged her into the nearest back alley before anyone noticed, if people noticed who knew what would happen, this was essentially the biggest criminal hotspot in Harry Potter. I covered her mouth while I looked around warily, two three year old's alone was prime opportunity to vampires or whatever.
She licked my hand so I let go in disgust, wiping it on me. "Henwy! What are you doing!?" She practically shouted in my face which would have been cute if it weren't for the fact that anyone could have heard.
"Shhh, you need to be quiet!" I whisper-yelled. I don't know how I never noticed her following me.
"You promised to tell Henwy" Don't tell me she followed me to get answers.
"I was but, dammit sis don't you know where we are, the most dangerous place in Britain" Of all the days. I couldn't get her to stop following me now she'd just have to... come along. Kill me. "Alright, I need you to be quiet, don't do anything and don't tell anyone" She nodded quickly.
Walking out the alley I made sure that no one had been listening and carried on, giving a crowd a once over to see if they had anything important. I froze when a hand grabbed my sleeve before relaxing when I realised it was Ginny. Going for the wizards on the outskirts I made it look like we were a pair of homeless kids scooting round carefully instead of me nicking their money.
We carried on our walk were we amassed a big supply of money before arriving at my favourite shop, The Shady Back-alley. TSB/ The Shady Back-alley was a shop that accepted everyone and was known as neutral ground in its little bar area. The owner who I met a year ago was a man named Vincent Oohsaine, a man willing to buy and sell anything, if you wanted something, he had it.
Strolling in I walked straight up to the bar and pulled myself up to a barstool after helping Ginny onto hers.
"John! How are you doing today my friend? Need some new tomes? Maybe some enchanted items or potions?" This man was always trying to make a quick buck.
"Not today, I'm here for something a bit different today but I might browse later on" I didn't want people associating Henry Weasley with crime, Id be on a much more tighter watch. So I created the alias John Doe."This is my sister Aliasa Doe but enough about that, I need a wand" Aliasa was not prepared before hand and was something made up on the spot.
A wand would help me figure out how magic works and see how it reacts to me and my magic. My sister could get one as well it could help with research.
"A wand? Hmm, don't have any of them in stock at the moment, just sold em all to a guy who entered five minutes ago" Shit, where else would I get a wand, Olivanders was out because it was illegal to sell one to under eleven year olds."But I might be able to hook you up with an American who crafts wands, for the right price of course"
That man was always trying to make money. I passed him a couple of galleons and he told me where to go. Once we got outside my sister finally spoke up.
"What was that all about?"
"Vincent is the man who can get you anything, and right now we need wands" That seemed to get her attention.
"Really!? I can't wait to show Mum!" She seemed excited, wait, tell Mom?
"Nope we can't tell anyone, not even Mom, do you know what would happen if she realised where we were" It seemed that she was finally getting the message. "Listen, this man might not be the most... nice person, so just keep quiet, okay?" She nodded and followed me as i set off.
Heading down Verticalley lane I stopped in front of the shop that Vincent told us about, The Proud Eagle. God bless America, I miss my homeland. Opening the door I scrunched up my nose as I saw the large amount of hands, eyes and brains stuck in jars. My sister gagged next to me but I soldiered on, walking up to the counter I rang the bell on it, waiting for someone to appear.
After waiting five minutes the crash of glass breaking alerted us to a rather mousy brunette, looking in his early twenties with a pair of John Lennon style glasses.
"Oh customers, I'm sorry that I didn't meet you when you arrived" This man was American? Where was the rudeness and KFC? He was so...polite. Never mind I knew what we came here for.
"Hello, we are here to buy some wands from you, do you take galleons?" Never hurt to ask if he had some different currency. And was it just me or did he seem to look, different? He did seem to have a certain sharpness in his eyes.
"Ahh, you see making a wand isn't so simple, it takes time and a lot of money and ingredients, and I doubt you two have enough money for that" Oh really now.
"So i guess you wouldn't want this then?" I pulled out a handful of galleons, this caused him to visibly rethink. "That's what I thought" And so began the tiresome process of gaining supplies and sorting out a plan for it.
Not long after we started my magic started screeching at me which was it's signal for parents starting to notice. "Shit, im sorry but can we continue this next week, we have to attend to another matter."
"Sure go ahead, is Friday good, maybe 2 O clock in the afternoon?" He seemed alright with that idea, after agreeing we rushed back to zonkos were our parents had just stepped out of the door.
"My babies! Oh there you are! I thought we'd lost you, where have you been?" Mom wailed as she seen us, scooping us into a giant hug. Seeing Ginny about to speak up I shook my head, signalling her to not talk.
"We went exploring! It was fun" I grinned up at Mom and spun a tale of exploring Diagon. After Mom stopped freaking out we all went home were immediately Ginny grabbed me and hauled me off to prison, or my room.
"Why are you lying? I want to know whats going on? Who where those people and what were you doing stealing!?" Ginny said in one breath.
"Slow down first and then I'll tell you, first is that me being able to do magic without a wand is a big deal, not something that people can do easily. Those people are people who have things to help me figure out how magic works" Ginny nodded at my explanation like she understood.
"But why can't we tell Mum and Dad?" Ahh, that was a good question.
"I trust them, but i don't trust them not to tell the entire world" And that would make me a target to Voldemort and his death nibblers.
After we finished the conversation Ginny convinced(read blackmailed) me into teaching her how to use magic which brought me a whole new source of problems, like how Ginny's magic works when she had no idea what I was talking about and how I used my magic.
"I'm sorry..." Ginny said, looking guiltily to the side and incidentally sending daggers of self hate impaling me.
"Hey it's not your fault, I just thought I was onto something, It couldn't be helped" I attempted to comfort her "After all, every great genius has to suffer a bit of disappointment before they become truly great" Yes i did just call myself a genius.
"Like Dumbledore!" My sister inputted happily, yeah like Dumbledore, definitely not people like Thomas Edison and Einstein, noooo.
Well it wasn't her fault, and so my new life continued.
AN: I almost wasn't able to get this chapter out, I was busy all week and barely had enough free time to write this, so sorry for it being short but the chapters will get longer as the story progresses. Also the (number)/7 are showing how many chapters in the arc and also it's kinda like the title 8 outta 7 8/7... anyone? no? I'll leave now.
