Link's hope was in vain. As he was defeating a horde of bokoblins while running through Sky Temple- why in Hyrule did Hylia have to make the entire place a sliding puzzle?- Fi uttered the dreadful phrase again.
"Master, the batteries in your Wii remote are nearly depleted."
"Why now of all times?!" Link exclaimed, as two of his enemies pounded their butcher-knife like swords against his shield. A flaming arrow zoomed toward him, nicking the tip of his hat and setting it alight.
"Oh no," he groaned, just as the world froze. He had to say, this time the most worrying thing wasn't actually his hat. That thing had been beaten up so many times and turned out just fine that all he really worried about was it falling off his head. No, what he was more concerned about was the smell in the air.
Bokoblins don't smell very nice to begin with. Now imagine meeting them in a who-knows-how-old room that was lined with bones and purple slime, and kept locked up since it was made. No way to wash themselves or anything. It was gross. And of course, now he had to deal with two of the monsters right in his face for however long until he was unfrozen. The smell of burning fabric didn't help either.
Not bothering to ask for help because he knew nobody would hear him, he stood there for a while, making small noises of disgust at the smells assaulting his nose and accepting his fate. Thankfully, the room unfroze before he fainted, and a slightly unexpected jolt to his shield knocked him to the floor, the other sword cutting his arm. Both bokoblins stared in surprise at their victory, choosing just then to crow in triumph and wave their swords above their heads. One swipe from the Master Sword finished them both off. After he defeated the rest of the enemies, Link staggered back to the main room, groaning from his bruises after falling hard on the uneven ground.
"If those battery things are causing me so much misery, why can't I just know what they are?" Link sighed, plopping exhaustedly on a stool and planting his chin on his fist while his scratches and bruises magically disappeared.
"I cannot provide that answer, master." Fi replied.
A/N Yep! Here it is people! I'm back with another chapter, a slightly extended plotline, and two more chapters to come! Hope you enjoy them all! The chapters are already all written, so I'm going to post one every other day, to drag it out a bit =P
